Demetri paces outside of Castle Volterra contemplating going inside to tell the kings what he found out, how even as it goes through his mind he can't believe it. By the time he goes into the castle, he goes to the throne room and decides to only tell Aro since it's better if only one person knew.

When he enters the throne room, everyone looks his way "Ah Demetri" Aro smiles seeing his tracker return "you're back, where's the vampire we sent you to get?"

"I didn't get him" Demetri admits "something more important came up, something you need to see"

Aro looked to Marcus and Caius confused and curious, standing up then taking Demetri's hand that he had out. Aro looks through his memories and lets go staring at Demetri who stares at him "Let's speak privately"

"What?" Caius demands "What's going on?"

"Nothing to concern yourself at the moment" Aro doesn't look their way, Demetri and Aro are outside of the throne room whispering "How sure are you?"

"It's her" Demetri insists knowing this could get him killed since besides him, Marcus's son Robert is one hell of a tracker "everyone has a tenor, a distinct tenor you can tell apart from everyone. When you assigned me the first time, her tenor was like a wave and harp playing in sync. Loud, very artsy. When she died, I felt the crash and the music go away. Now? It was the same thing. The tenor is exactly the same. No one has the same tenor, no one. So I spoke to her and the inner wrist birthmark? She has the same one. It's her"

Aro is silent as he paces back and forth before stopping to ask "And she's not...she doesn't"

"Human" Demetri shook his head "completely human, even has children"

"Children?" Aro repeats "How many?"

"I don't know" shrugging his shoulders feeling guilty for not listening more "I was more shocked than anything that I could barely listen. I know she's a surgical resident at Seattle Grace Hospital"

Aro thinks this over deeply, meanwhile in the throne room everyone can hear Aro's pacing. Just when Caius was going to order Jane to find out what's going on, Aro popped his head back in "Felix" Felix leaves the room when Aro motions for him.

"Aro" Aro looks to Marcus and Caius "what's going on?"

"A possible immortal child being created" Aro lies "Demetri and Felix will investigate it, Robert and the twins should go find the vampire Demetri was tracking"

Everyone knows Marcus refuses to let Robert track a vampire by himself, doesn't matter what's going on. Marcus doesn't budge, he doesn't like it when any of his children go anywhere by themselves.

"I'll let Robert know" Jane goes to leave

"I will" Alec leaves "he likes me better"

"Who told you that?" Jane demands

The twins bicker leaving the throne room, passing by Demetri and Felix not paying them any mind. Aro closes the door and when he knows the twins are gone, he orders "Felix? You have a medical degree do you not?"

"I do" Felix nods his head "board certified in trauma and cardiology"

"Good" Aro nods his head thinking this over clearly and calmly "Demetri? You have a medical degree but never pursued to get board certified right?"

"Yes" Demetri confirms "I spent one year as an intern but stopped when you called me back"

Aro nods his head then orders "Okay. Demetri, fill Felix in on what you found once you are in Washington. You'll take the intern exam, I'll talk to the chief of the hospital and get you both jobs there. Keep an eye on her, protect her with your lives as you would the wives. Also protect her children if they need protecting"

"I'm sorry" Felix cuts Aro off "Who are we supposed to protect?"

"I'll tell you in Washington" Demetri says

"Do not" Aro orders them "tell anyone in the coven, not a soul. I don't want word of this getting out. If it is her, get her DNA. I'll find a way to get Robert's or one of the twin's DNA, if it's her then the DNA test will reveal it. I want weekly reports"

"And if it is her?" Demetri asks "What then?"

"Then I'll tell them" Aro says "your jobs are to protect her and her children, but mainly her. Now go and send Ophelia to the throne room" Felix and Demetri nod their heads leaving Aro as Aro walked into the throne room.

"An immortal child?" Marcus asks

Aro nods his head "Yes, Demetri needed backup since the child was with two female vampires and you know how protective the creators get"

"Then send the twins" Caius scowls. The human receptionist Ophelia walked into the throne room briefly knocking on the door "Go away"

"No" Aro waves Ophelia closer "Ophelia, contact the chief of surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital. Tell him I'd like to talk to him, make up a portfolio for Felix and Demetri regarding medicine"

"Why does she need to do that?" Marcus asks

Aro shrugs his shoulders "Keep up with modern day technology, besides the two are always the ones who keep up with modern technology before any of us. Telling us what's worth it and what's not" the wives come into the throne room then and Aro pulls Sulpacia close, worried about what would happen if it turns out to be true, how his mate would react and more importantly how Marcus would react.

|Demetri's POV|

"My head hurts" Felix rubs his brows as I finished explaining to him what happened, leaning against the wall looking into the three story house "you're saying Marcus's mate, the twins and Robert's mother is alive? Like alive alive? Like not dead dead? Edith's alive? How? How sure are you that it's her?"

"You tell me" I point Edith or as she's called now Maddie to him "look"

"Oh...my..." Felix breathes out staring at Maddie from the shadows "god...it can't be" Maddie is in the bedroom of her youngest daughter who is three, I may or may not have hired a PI to tell me about her "what...but—Marcus"

"We need to get her DNA" correcting what he's thinking, reminding him of our mission "and protect her, find out how this is possible" besides me, Felix was the only other person who was assigned to keep an eye on Edith and the twins since there was this army being formed but also near the end of her life she became pregnant with Marcus's son. Robert.

When she goes to her room, she is greeted by her boyfriend who kisses her "Who's that?" Felix asks

"Boyfriend" Felix looks my way raising his eyebrow "I did a background check on him and he doesn't like being told no, he's use to getting what he wants"

"Sounds spoiled" Felix looks back to the window where the couple removes their clothes, this isn't new. When you're in a coven you have to learn to adapt to coven members fucking, one thing Maddie if she is who I think she is will learn "She doesn't sound like she's having a good time"

"Nope" I've heard women fake it, some women can be very convincing but Maddie here? She sounds like she's bored out of her mind but the guy she's with doesn't seem to notice or care "I'm half tempted to call Jane"

By the time we need to head to the hospital, Chief Richard greets us and shows Felix around while I greet the other residents. One who happens to be Maddie "Doctors, this is Dr Felix Volturi our new cardio attending and this is his brother Dr. Demetri Volturi our new resident"

"Great" one of the residents scoffs "more competition"

"Hi" Maddie is the first one to greet us properly "Dr. Madelyn Grey, this is my twin Meredith. Cristina Yang. Alex Karev. Izzy Stevens. George O'Malley"

"Hello" shaking her hand smiling "it's a pleasure to meet you Madelyn"

"Maddie" she asks us "many people call me that"

"It's nice to meet you Maddie" Felix greets "Call us Felix and Demetri"
