"You're joining the army?" Asking George when he was about to leave the hospital "Wow...I'm not sure what to say. Be safe and come back okay?"

Giving him a hug, George hugs me back "Thank you Maddie for your support, I have a feeling the others aren't going to be like that" he pulls away as Demetri shook his hand.

"Good luck O'Malley" Demetri tells him "you're a brave man and it'll be weird it having you around this hospital"

"Thank you for your support" he tells us "your both great friends to have" giving George one last hug before he leaves, he looks our way and we wave our hands before he waves back and leaves.

"Oh god" taking Demetri's hand "he's going into the army and...oh my god"

"It'll be okay" Demetri says "now let's talk about the wedding?"

"I'm postponing it" shaking my head, after a long time I thought about it and for some reason walking down an aisle towards Derek isn't right "I don't know, it just doesn't feel right. I think I said yes to Derek because I was overfilled with joy that Robert wanted me in his life, I mean I already said yes and we haven't picked a date and with Izzy's cancer? Just...I need things to slow down and give me time to think and breathe"

"And we'll be here to help anyway we can" Felix assures me when he appeared.

"I have a question for you both" looking between them "are you both being friends with me because you want to or because you were ordered to"

"We want to" Demetri smiles "as Edith we were assigned to protect you since there was a war and when Marcus found you and the twins, it was too dangerous. We don't know how many vampires tried to kill you and the twins when they found out"

"You found out about us and invited us in for a meal" Felix tells me "and even though we can't eat without our daylight rings, we accepted since neither of us wanted to be out in the rain. Your husband hated it"

"I was married?" I ask

Nodding their heads "Yes, extreme jackass" Demetri scowls before sneering "Warren. He's the reason you lost your little boy, Teddy"

Felix leaves because of a page "I had another son?"

"Died from the plague" Demetri confirms "he was a toddler, Warren slept with a whore who was infected. When you and the twins survived after spending time with Teddy during his final hours, Warren and the village thought you all to be witches"

"Because I wanted to spend my last moments with my son?" This undeniable rage fills me when he tells me this, how fucking dare my dead ex husband "did I still have blonde hair before?"

"You did" Demetri and I have to leave when we are paged, I have so many questions about my past life and one of them is how I treated the twins and why they can't see me now.

When Demetri paged me, both him and Felix were speaking lowly and when they see me they have tense expressions "Who died?"

"What?" Demetri asks

Motioning to their faces "I recognize those faces"

"It's George" Felix says, what about George? "You know the John Doe who pushed the woman away?" Nodding my head "as vampires we can smell scents and...the John Doe is George" I'm sorry? What?

"No" shaking my head no feeling tears "No..."

"Maddie" placing his hands on my shoulders "it's George" tears run down my face as I go into Demetri's arms to cry, how could he...George is...oh my god.

Pulling away to take deep breaths, placing my hands on my knees feeling the urge to throw up "Oh god" placing a hand on my belly "Oh god...Oh god..."

"Maddie" Demetri places his hand on my back "also...you're pregnant" that sets me off and in a nearby trash can, I throw up what I ate this morning.

When I find George, he is briefly away "George?" Taking his hand "if it's you, squeeze my hand" he squeezes my hand and I cover my mouth while tears run down my face "Don't worry, we'll make sure you survive" running to the nurses "page Torres, Hunt, Volturi and Shepherd now. Also call George O'Malley's mother, John Doe is George"

I find my friends in the cafeteria freaking out "Maddie?" Meredith sees me "what"

"I know who John Doe is" looking to Callie "it's George, John Doe is George" their eyes widen and we run out of the room, we get to George who starts to code again.

"Get him to the OR" Hunt appears after a nurse tells him what happened. In surgery, George codes and when he doesn't come back after being declared brain dead Callie begins to freak out and she needed to be taken out of the room.

Everyone then demands how I know it was George since Lexie doesn't think it's George "He wrote two zeros and a seven with his finger"

"Give me" Bailey takes my hand and writes something "what did I write?"

"Fuck" I say

Bailey lowers my hand "Someone get O'Malley on the phone" The chief orders, even Derek doesn't believe me and I scoff. When Callie checks for a birth mark and confirms it, they believe me.

I slap Derek across the face "That is for not believing me"

"Maddie" He says

Taking off the ring handing it to him "Also, I finally realize how horrible you are. This is over"

I walk away and Derek calls my name "Maddie! Maddie!" He stops me "Maddie I..."

"No" keeping away from him, my phone goes off and it's Dusty "Hey Dusty"

"Can you pick me up from the airport, the Seattle international airport?" He asks "I'm here"

"Yeah" hanging up the phone, I go to the airport and Dusty gets into the car when I arrive. Dusty has short dark brown hair with dark brown eyes and light tan skin "hey"

"Hey" he and I hug "what's wrong?" Looking at my face "you were crying and..."

"A close friend of mine is dead and I'm pregnant and I called off the wedding" I say

He stares at me before shaking his head "Let's go to the store, I'll make you your favorite. Spaghetti and hot dogs"

Holding Elia in my arms as she cries, the twins are holding Robert's hands while I have some tears that run down my face. The woman that George saved is crying harder than his own mother. Derek tries to take my hand but I pull away placing my hand on Elia's back rubbing it in circles.

Izzy walks away while I look to Dusty who came here as emotional support "Dusty" he takes Elia from me so I can go after Izzy along with our friends, Demetri is by my side since he's also a part of our small friend group.

"Izzy?" I ask

She pulls her hands away and we see she's laughing "I'm sorry"

"She's laughing" Cristina looks around then to Izzy "you're laughing"

"You're laughing?" Meredith asks

"She's laughing" Alex nods his head

"Why?" Demetri looks confused.

"George" she laughs motioning to the buried "George is dead, he's dead. They're about to put him in the ground and the priest is doing classic rock lyrics! That girl, that redhead is crying harder than his mother! She never even met him"

"You are far more twisted than I ever realized" Cristina says

She laughs motioning to me "You called off your wedding because Derek...he didn't believe you"

Looking to Meredith "You slept with Derek"

We start to laugh because I should feel angry but I don't "I slept with your ex-fiancé. I did"

"You guys got married for real" Demetri motions to Alex and Izzy who nod their heads.

"And I got cancer!" Izzy exclaims "What?" She's the most peppy person ever and she got cancer and lost her best friend.

"Dude!" Alex exclaims "O'Malley got hit by a bus!"

We all are laughing hard, when people are walking away we quiet down before seeing the girl who is crying and laugh again. "She never stops crying" Izzy complains

Once we stop laughing, I see my kids "I need to get the kids home" going over to my family with Demetri, Elia looks at me confused.

"Mommy?" She asks "Why were you and Demetri laughing?"

"Because we are very twisted people" I explain "that's why" when I see Derek look at me while talking to Mark "let's go home"

Once at home, Dusty is making me spaghetti and hot dog "Hey Maddie" Dusty sits down next to me "I want to talk to you about something, I know I haven't really been that involved but seeing how hard things are with Derek...when the baby is born why don't you put my name down"

"Really?" I ask

He nods his head "Yeah, best not have Derek stay in your life when he doesn't need to be in your life...also in a few days I'm going to visit Sarah and the kids and this new husband. Brad. What am I in for?"

"Imagine a butterfly that took human form" shaking my head as I think about Brad "who is incapable of fighting, that using words is the only way to fight with someone and you need to help Dylan"

"Why?" He asks

"According to the twins" I say "a group of fourth graders has been bullying him"

"What?" He demands

Nodding my head "Yeah, and I have a feeling Dylan got the advice to do nothing. Which is why, you need to get Dylan to open up to you"

"How?" He asks

"Stay" taking his hands "be there for your kids, you are in and out and Sarah doesn't have the time to call you as often ad I make the time to" 

"So be there?" Nodding my head "okay, I can do that. Joe serious is Sarah and Brad? Like on a scale of one to ten..."
