Chapter 1

NDA : English is not my native language, I apologize in advance for any grammar or spelling mistakes. I used a translator, my acquaintances and a friend for this translation. Thanks in advance and good reading.

Brief summary :

Soliès is a character who is reincarnated in a world parallel to his own, in a different era, after dying of a miscarriage. He is a member of the Cynerian species, which is hermaphroditic. The species of Cyneria is also humanoid and has feathers, replacing the hairs, all over the body as well as at the end of the hair. The cynerians also have the ability to fly thanks to their wings, which they however almost never use (their clothes did not allow them to deploy them freely at this period) and they can also live extremely long (thousands of years). In his previous life, he was in love with another man called Orias and was carrying a child. A friend, a system, who looked after him is called Auteur. In this version, Soliès died before he met Fury, another character who helped a parallel Soliès.

I hope this explanation is clear enough. This story is based on another book, "Réincarnation d'une auteur schizophrène", but it can be read without necessarily having to read the other work. By the way, i precise that this book is not the second volume of another book, it has its own story (the characters are linked, even sometimes the same but the story is completely different and doesn't necessist another read to understand this book). Thank you.

"Come on, wake up! Wake up!"

I opened my eyes, everything around me was black, as black as darkness.

WAIT!! STOP EVERYTHING! I'd already heard those two sentences! It was at the beginning of my first reincarnation! Which is no longer necessary for the rest of this story...

I opened my eyes wide and sat up, only to notice that I wasn't in my usual room. The furniture around me was... rich... everything seemed to be made of wood, in an old, almost antique style. The room was more of a shimmering yellow, with several colors layered on top of it, the walls upholstered with elegant birds, especially storks or herons, whose feathers were detailed and appeared light. As for the rest of the room, the bed was huge, with at least two seats, blue silk curtains surrounding it, and dark green bed linen added to the richness of the place. On the furniture were scattered many different objects, ranging from very beautiful plates of Chinese porcelain to books with antique blankets. Likewise, a pillar-sized mirror, with silver borders and arabesques intermingled with metal branches, was on the other side, affixed to his bed.

What was the use of that mirror anyway? Was it going to have an important place in this book? Or was it just here for the decoration? Or has a certain person simply recycled an old description from another book just to win words? (Absolutely not... No, no, no... Not at all... *whistle*)

Just a minute... What was I doing here? I hadn't regressed, which was surprising. What was the first thing I remembered?

"Remember Soliès, remember Soliès", I mumbled, massaging my temples.

A flash of lucidity crossed my mind.

Yes, I remember! I was dead... I was dead. That was a fact.

Disbelief and despair swept over me, knowing that I had died because of my early delivery...

Then rage overtook me and I pounded my fists and feet on the bed like a four-year-old.

"This can't be happening! I've already died once and I needed to die a second time! As if that wasn't enough grrr!!!", I roared, completely beside myself.

Finally, the anger died down like a soufflet and tears welled up in my eyes.

"Why?, I stammered between tears, why did I have to die when I was just beginning to feel happy? Boo-hoo.... "

Niagara Falls began to fall on my face.

Why was I always the only one who suffered? Why did I have to die in a miscarriage? Why? I was supposed to be part of a species where everything was planned, it was even hermaphrodite, so why was fate hanging over me? It was really unfair... But... had I really been alone in dying? I had... actually taken another person in death with me.

I put my hand on my flat belly, the life that pulsed inside had completely disappeared, as if it had never existed.

Why? Was I cursed? Did I have to pay for bad karma from a life before human? Or were gods having fun at this morbid game of reincarnation? I didn't know what to do, what to say... Was I even still me? Or had I landed in someone else's body? Was it even reincarnation or rather transmigration?

The door opened wide, letting in a familiar face.

"Mariana?" I breathed out, flabbergasted.

It was funny that the first head was her, knowing that it was also the first when I was first reincarnated. Yeah... the word 'first' is repeated too often in that sentence. And okay, was it reincarnation, or not? But it seems I was still "Soliès."

This thought had the merit of relieving me in part, lightening my heart with a heavy weight.

"Soliès!" exclaimed the young red-haired woman as she rushed towards me.

She hugged me and cried against my shoulder.

Just a minute! Why was she wearing such a dress? It looked like the dresses you'd see in documentaries about ancient China. This one was pale red, with a black top, dotted with white flowers and... the description was far too difficult to relate. However, it matched her long red hair and yellow eyes.

Hey! I know absolutely nothing about Chinese clothes! Did I land in what seems to be ancient Cyneria? It looked a lot like ancient China. After all, before I was a Cynerian, I had been human so I knew what the clothes of that time looked like through the Internet. However, they looked much more complicated to wear than the pictures I had seen.

"Soliès, I'm so happy you're alive, sniffed Mariana as she wiped a few tears from her sleeve, we thought we'd lost you.

- Ah... Yes..., I said NOT AT ALL suspiciously.

- My brother, I'm so happy, she said, taking my hand with a delighted look.

- My brother??, I gasped.

- Soliès? You... you remember me?," the young woman said quickly, fear visible in her eyes.

My brother??? Reincarnation was a funny thing! No really, between the first one that landed me in a modern Cyneria and the second one in an antique, in the middle of crazy persons. It was really incredible!!! That's ironic, of course.

"By Clopelia, she sighed, a veil of sadness in her eyes, the doctor warned us that this could happen."

Clopelia?? Her again ?? She was going to haunt me for the rest of my life, that bitch! I had to have a word with her ! This reincarnation was a scam! It was really anything from her reincarnations! What was I going to reincarnate myself for next time? In a goat perhaps???

"Soliès? Are you feeling ill somewhere?" asked Mariana.

I shook my head in the negative, touched by her tenderness.

"Soliès, do you remember anything?" she asked.

I decided to play the amnesia card and nodded again.

She seemed deeply saddened by my answer, then took a deep breath and replied:

"All right, it doesn't matter, Soliès... I'm your sister, Mariana. I'm glad you've managed to remember my name, she explained. Don't move, I'll get some servants to bring you some food and I'll tell our parents. Be a good boy and stay here, okay?"

I may have lost my memory for you, but I hadn't lost my brain cells either!!!! I wasn't stupid! Not as stupid as Auteur, that stupid system that abandoned me at the most important moment. I'm kidding. It is a pity that she is not present at all.

However, wanting to comply with her good wishes, I nodded. Her reply was a big smile.

"Perfect, she exclaimed, letting go of my hand, I'll be right back, OK?"

With that, she trotted out of the room, closing the door behind her.

So... To sum up, I'd landed in a world of ancient China, but it seemed to be made up of people I'd known in my previous life. Was I going to see everyone I loved again? And even the ones I hated? It was really the peak of the mockery...

A feeling of despair came over me.

"I miss Orias already," I murmured as I curled up.

I felt my now flat stomach. An immense grief seized me by the throat, my tears starting to flow again, and I closed my eyes.

So it was always like that then? Losing everyone I loved every time I was reincarnated? Would I at least have the chance to be happy one day? Or should I always suffer in this way? Suffer from seeing my loved ones go up in smoke? I had already had to say goodbye to those I loved in my life as a human, but now also to those of modern Cyneria? They seemed to remember nothing... Were they really the same people? Or... not? So... were they strangers to me?

Something soft suddenly dried my tears. I opened my eyes again to find a stranger holding a cloth handkerchief. He was also wearing a dress*, white with pale blue arabesques on it. His long blond hair in the colour of wheat cascaded down to his hips, his white skin matched by his sky-blue eyes, and for a brief moment I felt as if his eyes had probed my soul.

I jerked back, hitting the wall and letting out many "ouch, ouch, ouch".

"Hey Soliès! Don't make so much noise, you'll look dumber than you are if you don't!" the stranger suddenly exclaimed, putting his hands on his slim hips.

I stared at him strangely before asking the question:

"Do I know you?

- Hmm... Yes and no... he conceded, but technically you should be able to guess my identity".

I frowned slowly before suddenly realising.

"You're Fury, I said, surprised, but what are you doing here?

- Bingo my dear, smiled the blond winking at me, it's a bit more complicated than that actually...

- What is it? That I've died a second time?

- Hmm no, not really. In fact, I know you. But the you from another dimension", the god explained.

I blinked in incomprehension at his mystical gibberish.

"Hmm... How shall I put it? Let's say that you, the Soliès of world one, is dead, but that the Soliès of world two is not dead, that's what it's like," Fury said thoughtfully.

I understood better now.

"How did my other self live? Did he escape death? Is he happy at least? I asked curiously, with a breath that was almost gone.

- Yes... he... do you want me to tell you about our adventures?" the blond man asked softly, a hint of empathy in his voice.

I nodded. Fury then began his long story.
