——- AS ELENA GROGGILY WOKE, she noticed that her sister was beside her, deep asleep. Then she noticed Ben sitting in the chair, remaining as quiet as possible, sitting up warily, looking around. She was confused to what had happened, but she needed to wake Maddie. Elena slowly and carefully stood, stepping closer, shaking Maddie's shoulder, waking her. Maddie groaned softly, but she woke and looked around frantically, gasping about to speak. Elena put a finger to her lips, pouting toward Ben. Maddie furrowed her eyebrows, following Elena's gaze, looking at her, remembering him once. Maddie nodding, mouthing her words. "How do we get out of here?" Elena looked from Ben to the door, estimating if they could make it without waking him. She looked at Maddie, nodding to the door. Maddie shook her head, knowing if Ben was a vampire, he'd grab them before they even make it out. So as Maddie stayed on the bed, pretending to be asleep as she formed a plan. Elena rolled her eyes, figuring she's on her own. She quietly sliding off the bed, stepping over Ben's outstretched leg, slowly backing toward the door, keeping an eye on Ben. Maddie stayed on the bed, pretending to be asleep, but she could hear Elena unlocking the dead bolt on the door. Elena continued to watch Ben to make sure he didn't wake. Elena turned the lock on the door, glancing at Maddie, confused to why she isn't moving. Elena prepared to open the door. Maddie smirked inwardly as both girls heard Ben's voice. "I wouldn't." Elena gasped, realizing that Maddie knew that Ben would hear them. Maddie smirked as she heard Elena's gasp. That's what you get for not listening, idjit. Elena turned to face him. Ben inched closer, compelling Elena. "Don't try to escape." Ben turned to see Maddie asleep. "Tell your sister when she wakes, to not move." Elena widened her eyes. "Do you understand?" He looked at Elena. "I understand." Ben scoffed, backing away, turning around to get a bottle of blood out of the mini fridge. Elena turned quickly toward the door, opening it instantly, running outside. Maddie laid on the bed, this time actually asleep. Anna was standing there, pulling Elena back inside forcefully. Ben restrained Elena from behind as she wouldn't try to escape. Anna glared at Ben. "Seriously?" Ben glanced at the sleeping girl on the bed. "I told her not to move, the other isn't awake." Ben told her. "I did that eye thing you taught me." Ben let go of Elena. Anna's eyes softened at Maddie's sleeping form, not wanting any harm to her. Ben caught the look and let it go. "But you forgot the lesson about vervain." Ben held Elena as she struggled fiercely. "She's dating a vampire." Anna pointed at Elena. "And Maddie is related to two plus this one." Anna pointed a thumb to Maddie. "Who are you?" Elena demanded, struggling against Ben's hold. Ben held her tighter. "What do you want?" Ben and Anna looked at one another. "Does it matter?" Anna asked, opening the bathroom door, pushing Elena inside, closing the door, locking it. She turned to face Maddie. "Wake her, but gently." Ben walked toward the bed, shaking Maddie gently, causing her to groan.

After dialing Isaiah the previous night, Haley paced back and forth in her living room, waiting for what and why Maddie was taken, along with Elena. After Haley informed both Jenna and Jeremy, they were told not to interfere, since Haley didn't know what to do. "Miss. Gilbert." Isaiah's voice interrupted Haley's pacing. Haley turned and grabbed her keys. "Salvatore house, now." Haley walked toward her car, Isaiah following in, curiosity and confusion. "After I called Damon, informing him of Maddie, he told me to meet him at his house. Stefan would know what to do. Besides, Maddie would want you to know she's missing. Besides she knows what to do." Haley shrugged, as she drove toward the boarding house. Isaiah seemed amused by Haley's behavior, but Haley was too upset to scold or make fun of Isaiah for once.

As Haley pulled into the driveway of the boarding house, Isaiah heard a conversation between Stefan and Damon. "So, please tell me what you know. You were with Anna. You must know where she's living. Just tell me where I can find her." Isaiah heard Stefan ask. "Huh? Nope. You can go. Really." Damon told him. "You know, all I can remember is hating you. There might have been a time when that was different. But your choices have erased anything good about you. The only thing good about you is Maddie, but I see, I also know that you have just as much reason to hate me. This all began with me. Katherine got taken away from you, because of me. Maddie died saving my life because of me. And I'm sorry." Stefan told him. Damon stood in silence. "Apology accepted." Stefan sighed. "So please, just tell me what you know. It's Elena and Maddie, our sister, Damon. If you know something... tell me." Stefan watched Damon shuffle through books. Damon looked toward him. Isaiah and Haley walked toward the door as Isaiah listened. "I mean this sincerely." Isaiah heard Damon. "I wish Maddie to be safe, and sound wherever she's at. But I hope Elena dies." Damon noticed Isaiah and Haley in the doorway of the library. He walked past them, leaving the room.

As Maddie sat on the bed, glancing at Ben and Anna, curious and confused. "Why the hell are Elena and I here?" Anna understood her tone as she was confused, so she let it slide. "Well, Elena is here for the witch to cooperate." Ben answered. "And have leverage over Stefan." Ben shrugged. "And you, are here to get Stefan and Damon, to have leverage over them so they'll have to work with us?" Maddie raised an eyebrow. "All you had to do was ask instead of kidnapping me and Elena, I would've came willingly. I know how vampire works. I'm just a human." Maddie shrugged. Anna and Ben glanced at one another before facing Maddie. "And besides, you're dead once Damon finds that I'm missing. I mean kill you." Maddie pointed toward Ben, knowing he did the kidnapping. "Besides, my aunt probably realizes that I'm missing with Elena, which means getting Isaiah..." Maddie trailed off, catching the fearful looks upon Anna's face and Ben's confused one. Maddie smirked. Being a reincarnation had its perks.

Meanwhile, a girl with red hair and emerald green eyes slowly walked into the Grill, glancing around until she found the person she was looking for. "Hey Jer, we need to talk." The girl heard another woman with short blonde hair with curls. The girl tilted her head, listening. "Maddie and Elena is missing. I called Isaiah." The teen told the boy. The girl's eyes widen at the news, knowing her companions would want to know. "What can I do? Stick around?" She heard Jeremy ask. The girl sat by the bar, asking for a coke. The teen smiled sadly. "We'll find them, Jer, Stefan and Damon are trying to find a way to find her." The girl knew this was her chance. The girl walked toward her, looking confused. "Um excuse me, I heard you need help?" She pretended to be confused. The teen and the boy panicked a bit, glancing up. "Um, were looking for my nieces." The teen girl asked, wary. "Haley, right? I've heard of you, I'm Lily. I can help you." The girl told Haley. Haley looked at her. "I'm a witch." Lily whispered so only Haley and the boy heard. Their eyes widen in shock and hope. Haley smiled. "Of course, I'll lead you to a friend of mine. He's become attached to Maddie." At Lily's confused face. "One of my nieces, Elena is the other." Lily nodded in understanding. "I can also use some help from a Bennett witch, I knew of one, but she passed away." Lily asked. Haley's eyes lit in recognition. "Bonnie, she's a friend of Elena and Maddie, come with me. Jeremy, enjoy your day." Haley told her nephew, as Lily smiled. Haley walked toward the entrance, with Lily following.

As Haley drove toward the Bennett house. "So, Lily, how do you know the Bennett's?" Haley asked in confusion. Lily smiled softly. "My father knew a Bennett witch named Amelia, and Amelia had died about 10 years ago during a war, and Amelia had a daughter with one of my uncles.. and he doesn't know who she is." Lily explained. Haley nodded. "Maybe Grams would know about Amelia, and her daughter. Who's the uncle?" Haley asked. "My Uncle Charlie. I have six uncles and several aunts." Lily told her. "Who's your family?" Haley asked, curious. "My father is an police officer and my mom is a stay at home mom, or was. I'm the youngest of three. I have two older brothers, whom are protective. I'm from London, actually. I came here for a friend who was looking for his aunt." Lily explained. Haley nodded. "We'll ask Sheila what she knows." Haley placed a hand on top of Lily's. Lily gave a gentle smile. Haley smiled as she continued driving toward Grams house.

As Haley knocked on the front door, Lily felt a familiarity of magic flowing through her veins. Lily was nervous to the understatement, since she was somehow related to the Bennett's, even down the line. Grams opened the door. "Yes?" Grams asked. "Hi, there. I'm Haley Gilbert, this is Lily, we've come to ask for your help. We're looking for Bonnie." Grams eyed Lily warily, also sensing the magic. "She's not here." Grams told them. Lily stood idle, tracing over her features, knowing what from her father told her, Amelia Bennett looked similar to their ancestor Emily Bennett. "Oh, well.. do you know when she—." She was cut off by Grams. "Unfortunately, I do not. But a fellow witch could." Grams nodded in Lily's direction. "I sense familiarity in you, reminding me of my darling Amelia." Grams looked at Lily. "Amelia has a daughter with my uncle, madam, and she's my cousin." Lily told Grams. Grams' eyes widen in shock. "I understand. Spirits had told me once, I never believed. My granddaughter would like you, Lily." Grams mentioned. "Unfortunately, I cannot help you locate Bonnie, but I know you can." Grams gave a look toward Haley. Haley nodded mutely. "This is also for Maddie, she seems to disappear, it's why I've came for her." Grams eyes widen a fraction. "I'm sorry, Miss. Gilbert. I am an old woman, Lily's magic is stronger than I. She's also a indirect cousin of Bonnie, she'll most likely find her." Grams mentioned. Haley and Lily nodded in understanding. "I appreciate your time, Ms. Bennett." Lily told her, formally stating. Sheila's eyes widen at the familiarity and knew who exactly Lily was and whom her relation to. Haley and Lily nodded, parting their ways. Grams walked inside, closing the door, staring at a wall, shock evident on her face.

After Haley and Lily tried to find Bonnie through Sheila, Lily had another idea, but it consisted of her blood, which Lily was thankfully related to. "So, I need a bowl, and some herbs, and thing of Bonnie's, and my blood. I may be a witch, but I'm a wand wielder, so this magic isn't my forte, but I know I have the same ability as any Bennett witch." Lily explained as she sat in the living room of the boarding house. Stefan noticed Lily seemed familiar to him, but did not comment on it. Damon, however scowled at having another witch in his home, but it was for Maddie's sake. As Haley came back in with a bowl of water, and several herbs that mysteriously appeared in a cabinet as Haley searched, but did not question it. Stefan had a knife with a sharp blade that he kept. Lily has transformed it into a ritual blade, promising to return it back to the way it was afterwards. "Now, I need to make an incision. Now, Haley, gently take my hand, and make a thin line of blood to trickle into the bowl." Of course Lily could do this, but because she needed another person to help her. Haley gently picked up the blade, gently cradling Lily's left hand into her own, making a small incision, letting blood pool up. Lily waved an enchantment over her hand to conceal the scent of blood, much to Stefan's relief. Haley had explained about his animal diet, due to being a ripper. Lily had something that would help him, but she kept quiet, knowing Stefan wasn't ready just yet. As blood trickled into the bowl, they all noticed a puff of smoke, along with a face of Bonnie huddled into a bathroom. Lily closed her eyes, concentrated. "Now, Haley, I need your blood. Stefan, you as well if we wish to track Maddie and Elena." Lily told them. Haley and Stefan willingly gave their blood, as they noticed several swirls. Damon, Haley and Stefan were entranced by the awe of magic that Lily held, like a pensive of memory, except in real time. They all saw Maddie sitting on the bed, watching Elena talking to Anna. They could hear the conversation that was ongoing. "You really mean that, don't you?" Anna asked Elena. Elena nodded slightly. Anna chuckled without humor. "Maddie, I'd believe because she genuinely feels sorry." Anna gave a small smile toward Maddie, which confused Elena. "But, yeah, I think we'll skip the more than one person in our family dead bonding so you can start serving a purpose." Maddie sighed. "Which is what?" Elena asked impatiently. "Leverage, Elena. Why do you think I haven't even tried escaping." Maddie cut in. Anna and Ben smirked. Anna took out a phone. "The Salvatores always have the nicest things." Maddie raised an eyebrow at that statement. Anna walked across the room, calling someone. Lily noticed that Damon would be that person. Lily turned to Damon, hearing his phone rang.

Damon answered the phone, noticing Lily's look on her face. "Maddie? Are you okay? Where's Elena?" Lily smiled softly at the mention of the girls. "They're fine." Anna told him. "For now." Damon exhaled. Stefan looked across toward Damon, listening with his arms crossed across his chest. "If you even dare to lay a finger on Maddie's beautiful hair I swear to God—." Damon started. "Relax." Anna cut in. "They'll both be okay as long as you tell me that you have the grimoire." Stefan rose an eyebrow. Damon walked further into the room, leaning against the door frame, watching Lily. "I can get it." Damon told her. "Which means your brother has it." Anna told him. "And I have the witch. So one of you had better meet me in the very public Town Square in 30 minutes, so we can safely discuss how fun it's gonna be to work together." With that, Anna hung up. Damon scowled, but hung up.

As Lily and Haley watched Anna walked toward the bathroom, knocking twice. "I'm leaving." Ben opened the door, pushing Bonnie out into the main room. "Keep them buttoned down. Confusion won't work. Just use violence." Bonnie noticed Maddie as she gave a small smile. "Okay." Ben told her. "I got that." Anna walked out of the motel room, leaving. Ben pushed Bonnie onto the bed next to Elena, who sat beside Maddie. "Sit." He told Bonnie. "Behave." Ben turned to Elena, knowing Maddie hadn't tried anything yet. He turned away, taking off his jacket, looking at Bonnie. "So you're the key to this. Literally. The one who opens the door. Tell me." He sat down. "How long have you been a witch?" Lily watched, curiosity as Ben asked the question. "Is there anything to drink here?" Elena asked impatiently. Maddie sighed, getting up walking toward the mini fridge. "There's water on the night stand." Ben stepped away. Elena slid toward the nightstand, picking up the glass. Bonnie looked at Elena. "Can I have a sip?" Maddie knew what was coming, so she stayed put. "Bonnie..." Maddie warned. Elena pulled the glass away from her lips, handing it to Bonnie. Bonnie turned to Ben, splashing the water over him, using magic to turn the water into flame, making him scream in pain. Elena stood, running toward the door, opening, running outside, turning back, waiting for Maddie and Bonnie. Bonnie made it to the door. Maddie stayed on the bed, raising an eyebrow. Ben put the flame out, restraining Bonnie before she caught up, looking angrily at Elena. "Come back in." Elena stepped away from the door. Ben looked at Elena. "Shut the door." Ben told Elena. Maddie folded her arms. "Don't hurt her." Bonnie told him pleadingly. "Don't make me! Be more like Maddie." Ben replied. Elena closed the door. "Lock it!" Elena hesitated, locking the door. Maddie tilted her head back against Ben in disappointment, knowing that they had been so close to getting out. "Now you see why I don't dare try escaping a vampire, Elena. That's twice for you, zero for me." Maddie told her sister, to whom Elena ignored. Maddie shrugged, giving Ben a smile.

Lily seemed impressed with Maddie's calm and collected expression. Haley was amused, seeing as Maddie learned to deal with vampires. "Well, Damon, you'd better go find Anna. I'll keep track of Maddie. She's with Bonnie and Elena." Lily told softly to Damon. Damon warily glanced at her, until Haley nodded. "It's okay, I trust her." Haley told him. Stefan nodded, promising to stay with them if needed. Damon sighed, nodded as he left the room. Haley turned to Lily and Stefan. "Any trace of a place?" Lily glanced at the bowl, a smirk on her face. "I love magic." She breathed happily. Stefan and Haley rose an eyebrow. "Found them." Lily gestured to the map she had laid out, with a blood trace on location. Stefan rose an eyebrow, but nodded as he rushed out. Lily turned to Haley. "Now, we wait." They both smiled, watching the bowl play out the scene with Maddie, Bonnie and Elena with Ben.

As Maddie sat on the bed with Bonnie and Elena on either side of her, closest to the bathroom. Ben was pacing, looking at Bonnie. "Witches don't have eternal life, right? So you guys can die." Maddie smirked, as if she knew someone who is an eternal witch and can't die. "Yep." Bonnie answered quietly. "We can die." Maddie smiled softly toward Bonnie. "Ah." Ben told her, chuckling. "That sucks." Maddie tilted her head. The door was suddenly kicked in by an angrily Stefan, allowing the sunlight to stream in and hit Ben. Maddie sighed in relief of seeing her brother. "Thank God." She murmured. Ben started to burn in the sunlight, screaming, ducking into the shadows. Maddie ran toward the windows, ripping the curtains open to allow sunlight to poor over everything in the room. Ben started to scream as his skin burned and smoked, hiding in between two beds for the dark safety from the sun. "Stefan." Maddie breathed, relieved that he was there, along with Elena and Bonnie. "Get outside." Stefan told them, giving a nod toward the door. Bonnie and Elena immediately stood, running out of the room, leaving. Maddie walked toward Stefan, behind him slightly, needing his comfort. Stefan also knew this, which why Stefan grabbed her hand. Stefan glared down at Ben, grabbing him into the sunlight, making his skin sizzle and burn, making him scream. Maddie flinched but placed her hand on Stefan's back. "When the sun goes down, leave town. If I ever see you again, I will kill you. Touch my sister again, you die." Ben's skin caught on fire, making him scream louder than before. "And you know I can do it." Stefan let Ben fall to the floor, into the shadows, turning to Maddie. "Come on, let's go." Stefan gently guided Maddie, walking out of the room, leaving the door open behind them as they left. Ben used the blanket from the bed to put out the flames on his skin. Maddie grabbed Stefan's hand, giving a squeeze in thanks.

Bonnie, Maddie and Grams were sitting at a table. "How did you know where we were?" Bonnie asked. "Stefan mentioned another witch, but..." She trailed off. "Many things can fuel a witches power." Grams told her. "Worry. Anger. After Haley told me that they had taken you, I had a lot of both. Simple locator spell was easy after that. Except, I was not the one whom casted." Grams gave a smile. Bonnie and Maddie seemed confused. "What did you mean?" Bonnie asked. "A girl I know of did the spell, dear. She helped you." Grams smiled. "I'm sorry." Bonnie told her. "About all of this." Maddie told her, placing a hand on top of hers. Grams smirked. "Not as sorry as they're gonna be." At the moment, Stefan, Elena, Haley, and Lily walked in. "So what are we going to do now?" Elena asked. "Well, for now, you need to stay here." Stefan told them. Maddie immediately stood up, and walked to Stefan, arms folded, staring daggers toward him. Haley and Grams seemed amused. Lily raised her eyebrows. "A prisoner?" Grams asked skeptically. "In my own home?" She shook her head. "I don't think so." Maddie raised an eyebrow toward Stefan, who fidgeted under her stare. "We can't protect you if you leave the house." Stefan explained, wavering his voice a bit. Stefan would admit, his sister's stare remarkably looks a lot their father, it was creeping him out just a tad. Maddie rolled her eyes. "We'll protect ourselves." Grams told them. Stefan looked away, toward Lily, who smiled softly. Haley sighed. "We need to let him have Katherine back. He's not going to stop until he gets her. If we help him, maybe that ends it." Maddie frowned. Maddie knew that Katherine would break him all over again. "No." Elena told her. Haley glanced at her niece. "He doesn't deserve to get what he wants." Maddie sighed. "Elena, What other choice do we have? I mean, he deserves to know if Katherine is there or not." Maddie explained. "But that also means I'm not involved, got it?" Maddie gave a pointed look toward Elena, Haley, and Stefan, whom all nodded in return. "Witches being pulled down by vampire problems." Grams mused, causing Lily to giggle. Maddie, Haley and Bonnie smiled softly. "As much as we try to do to stay out of it." Grams looked at Stefan and Maddie. "I'll open the tomb. You get your brother's girl and destroy the rest, with fire, and this will be all over." Grams looked at Bonnie and Lily, much to everyone's confusion except Haley and Stefan. Bonnie sighed, nodding. "Bonnie..." Maddie trailed off, causing Bonnie to smile softly. Lily nodded in return toward Grams. "We still have to get Damon to agree." Elena told them. "He already agreed once." Haley told them. "Yeah, and we double crossed him." Elena told Haley. "So now he's angry." Maddie shook her head. "He's hurt. There's a difference." Elena, Haley and Stefan glanced at Maddie. "I think I know what I have to do." Elena pointed a glance toward Maddie, whom raised an eyebrow. "No. I'm not doing it, remember I'm not crossing either of my brothers, I'd rather side with witches then deal with two angry brothers." Maddie pointed a glare at Stefan, who looked away, knowing what had happened years ago. Elena sighed.

Later that night, Maddie groaned as she realized that she forgot someone. Isaiah. Things had been hectic since the whole Anna-Katherine-Damon thing, she forgot that Isaiah left town. It hurt a bit that Isaiah was trying to find his family, and not checking upon her. All of the sudden, her phone, her eyebrows confused as she pulled it out. Isaiah. She smiled softly, answering it. "So, bout time you called me. What's up?" Maddie asked. She heard a chuckle. "Well, I have returned, and I simply miss you." Isaiah's voice was velvet, and she knew he probably had some blood recently. "I'm heading towards a party in the woods, I tend to stay out of the way from vampire drama." Maddie chuckled as she walked through the woods, seeing flickers of string lights ahead. "What do you know, I am here as well." Maddie heard a whoosh sound and Isaiah was leaning against the tree, his phone held to his ear. Maddie smiled softly. "Isaiah." She murmured softly, hanging up her phone. Isaiah nodded his head, smile apparent on his face.

As Isaiah and Maddie were walking through the party, she noticed Damon and Elena walking ahead of them. "The duke party." Maddie murmured. "Elena must've forgot. I hope they stay out of the church." Isaiah chuckled. As the two caught up to Damon and Elena. Matt and Caroline came up to them. "Caroline, Maddie." Matt told them. "Hey." Maddie smiled, waving. Elena waved awkwardly. "Elena!" Caroline told her. "Oh, my God, where have you been?" Maddie's lips twitched amused. Isaiah stood idle slightly behind Maddie. They noticed Caroline intertwined her fingers with Matt's. Elena noticed this action, pressing her lips together. Maddie's eyes furrowed. "Long story, no time to tell it." Damon told them, Maddie scowled at his tone. "I wasn't talking to you." Caroline told him. "Sure you were." Damon bit back. Maddie noticed Matt. "We haven't met." Matt told him, offering a hand toward Damon. "I'm Matt." Maddie gave him a small smile, giving a nudge to Damon to play nice. "Yeah, uh, Matt, there's a reason you two haven't met." Elena told him, pushing Damon along. "We gotta go that way, Maddie, Isaiah, come on." Elena looked at Matt and Caroline. They all continued to walk away. Maddie smacked Damon's head. "Ow!" Damon scowled, turning to look down at Maddie, who gave him a glare. "What did I do?" Damon asked, confused. Elena and Isaiah shook their heads. "You know what you did, now let it go." Maddie told him, walking further ahead of the group into the woods, with Isaiah trailing behind her, away from the party.

Haley, Lily, Bonnie and Grams were waiting. Stefan was climbing out of the tomb with a shovel in hand. "Cleared the debris away. Set the torches like you asked. We can get down now." Stefan placed the shovel on a rock. Bonnie noticed the can of gasoline. "What is that?" She asked. "It's everything I need to destroy them." Stefan answered, handing a flashlight to Haley. "Are you sure Damon will come back with Elena?" Haley asked. "Maddie will make sure he does." Stefan answered, knowing Maddie would've caught with them. Damon, Elena, Maddie and Isaiah joined the group. Damon whistled to get their attention, continuing to walk past. Maddie rolled her eyes. "Haley, Stefan, Red, Witches." Damon continued to walk down into the tomb with the grimoire. Haley exhaled. Maddie, Elena and Isaiah stood next to Haley, Stefan and Lily. "Everything okay?" Haley asked. "I just want to get this over with." Elena told them. Haley looked at Bonnie and Grams. "Are we ready?" Bonnie looked at them. "Bon, you don't.." Maddie stepped forward. Grams smiled. "I guess so." Bonnie answered, giving a small smile toward Maddie. Grams looked at Maddie. "It's alright child, no need to worry." Maddie hesitated, but nodded.

Three figures were hidden in the shadows, standing at the edge of the party, watching Jeremy. "I found Madelyn." One figure told the two. The second figure nodded. "I'll stay watch the young Gilbert. Madelyn would be upset if something happened to him. I know he's important. And he's my family." The second figure told the first. "He's mine as well, I'm going to see what's going on. I hoped not to intervene this early on, with Isaiah there, it's too dangerous for me." The first figure told them. The third figure stood silently. "I noticed Isaiah knew Madelyn, perhaps he's there to protect her?" The third told them quietly. The first and second glanced at the third. "Sienna knew Isaiah." The second figure told them. "Perhaps Isaiah is protecting her from his family. Rumors speak that Elijah is trying to keep the doppelgänger safe." He told them. "Alissa, would you be a dear and watch your husband and our family members?" The second figure told Alissa. Alissa smirked. "Pleasure seeing Damon once again? Hm, sure. But I have plans. I'm not ready to come out yet." Alissa murmured. The second figure nodded slowly. "Just observe. I'll stay, take Caspian with you." He told her. Caspian followed Alissa to where the group was at the church. The second figure stayed behind, keeping watch on Jeremy.

Maddie, Damon, Haley, Stefan, Elena, and Lily and Isaiah were standing near the entryway. Damon, Isaiah and Stefan stood in the doorway with Haley and Elena standing behind the three of them. Maddie and Haley were standing on either side of the doorway, leaning against the wall behind them. They watched Bonnie, Lily and Grams. Grams lit the torches that stood all around them. "Air." She lit another. "Earth." Lily watched. "Fire." Bonnie handed Grams a bottle of water. "Water." Grams took it, pouring some on the ground onto the circle. "That's it?" Haley asked. "Just water from the tap?" Lily seemed amused. "As opposed to what?" Grams asked. "I just figured that it would have to be blessed or mystical or something." Haley told them. Grams looked at Haley, smiling. Damon took a blood bag out of his pocket, unraveling it. "What's that?" Stefan asked, shining his flashlight onto the blood bag. Maddie noticed it. "It's for Katherine, or Alissa." Damon whispered the last part, but Maddie knew whom for. "Gotta have something to get her going." He looked at Haley and Elena. "Unless you two are offering a vein to tap." Elena looked at Damon, unamused. Haley shook her head sarcastically. "Nope, I'm good. Thanks." Haley mused. Damon looked around Stefan to look at Maddie. Maddie shook her head, very amused to her brother. Damon smirked, looking at Stefan. "Admit it. You guys can't wait to get rid of me." Maddie's smile dropped, a pang in her chest. Damon plans to leave? Stefan noticed her look, frowned. "Why couldn't it have been sooner?" Haley asked. Bonnie smiled. Lily winked at Haley. Damon narrowed his eyes at the young Gilbert. Elena stifled a laugh. "We're ready." Bonnie and Lily told them. They all looked at Bonnie, Lily and Grams. Isaiah watched, warily as he sensed 26 vampires.

As the second figure watched Jeremy, as he was leaning against a tree. The second figure tensed as he noticed Anna standing in front of him. "This place is wild." He heard. "You kinda like dead people, huh?" Jeremy asked. "I'm strange, remember?" Anna asked. "You okay?" The second figure knew something was up. "Uh, yeah." Jeremy answered. "Yeah. This place makes me think about someone." The second figure decided to plan, he was roughly about Jeremy's age, so he decided to step in. "A dead someone?" Anna asked. "No." Jeremy told her. "No, just... Someone I used to know. So, uh, hey." Jeremy chuckled. "We made it all of what, 37 minutes, in that party?" Anna smiled, chuckling. "Not your scene?" Jeremy pushes away from the tree. "I'm not really sure what my scene is anymore. So what you say? You, uh, wanna be part of my non-scene?" The second figure watched, carefully planning. "I would happily be a part of your non-scene, except uh, I'm leaving." Anna told him. The second figure raised his eyebrow in suspicion. "Wait, what?" Jeremy asked. "Yeah." Anna told him. "My mom and I are moving away." The figure's lips twitched. "Oh." Jeremy murmured. "Uh, that's—that's a bummer." The figure knew that Jeremy saw a friend in her. He vowed he'd become his friend, even if outing himself toward Maddie and Isaiah. "Yeah?" Anna asked. "Well, yeah." Jeremy answered. "So, guess this is goodbye?" Anna told him. "I guess it is." Jeremy agreed. After a moment, they kissed. Anna pulled away, transforming. Jeremy immediately knew Anna was a vampire, but quickly looked at her in alarm. "Anna, your face!" Anna turned away from him. "It's nothing." Jeremy knew she was lying. "It didn't look like nothing." Jeremy told her. Ben appeared behind Jeremy, hitting his head hard enough to make him fall to the ground, unconscious. The figure rushed behind a tree nearest to Ben. Anna turned to face him, sighing. "You didn't have to hit him that hard. Grab him and let's go. I'm taking him to meet my family." Hidden, the figure scowled, but nevertheless following. Looks like I'm outing tonight. He mused to himself.

Grams, Lily and Bonnie were standing in the middle of the circle of torches, facing one another, holding hands, eyes closed in concentration, more harder for Lily as she wasn't used to this witchcraft yet. "Phesmatos salves nas ex malon terra mora vantis quo incandis, et vasa quo signos." Haley frowned in confusion as she watched the three witches chant. "What are they saying?" Haley asked. "Sounds Latin." Stefan told them. "I don't think it's Latin." Elena told them. "It's Ancient Latin." Maddie answered them. Elena, Haley and Stefan glanced at their shared family member, amazed. Bonnie, Lily and Grams continued their spell. "Phesmatos salves nas ex malon terra mora vantis quo incandis, et vasa quo signos. Phesmatos salves nas ex malon terra mora vantis quo incandis, et vasa quo signos. Phesmatos salves nas ex malon terra mora vantis quo incandis, et vasa quo signos." The flames on the torches burned higher and brighter. "What's happening?" Maddie asked, worriedly. Bonnie, Lily and Grams finished their spell. "Phesmatos salves nas ex malon terra mora vantis quo incandis, et vasa quo signos." The door to the tomb croaked open. Bonnie, Lily and Grams looked toward the door. Bonnie sounded impressed. "It worked!" Lily smiled, breathing heavily. "Of course it did." Grams told her. "Lily!" Maddie frowned worriedly, rushing toward her as she swayed. "I'm fine, I just haven't tapped into that kind of magic since I was little." Lily breathed, closing her eyes. Maddie frowned as she felt her forehead. "Oh, my God. Lily you're burning up!" Lily felt a buzz from her wand, and opened her eyes. "My wand.." lily breathed quietly. Maddie frowned in confusion, but dug in her jacket for her wand. She felt power emerge toward Maddie as she gasped. Lily glanced at Maddie, a small on her face. "Expecto Patronom." A flicker of a wisp in a shape of a eagle flew and landed on a nearby rock. "Scorpius, I need you." With that the eagle flew away. Maddie and Haley both watched amazed. A voice interrupted their moment. "We have some fires to build." Damon looked at Stefan and Isaiah. Both Stefan and Isaiah looked at Elena and Maddie. "We're gonna go get the gasoline. We'll be right back." Stefan told them. Isaiah kissed Maddie's forehead. Both Stefan and Damon didn't miss the moment. Stefan and Isaiah both walked out of the chamber, up the stairs to the ground above. Damon looked from Bonnie to Lily to Grams to Elena. "You Ready?" Lily raised an eyebrow. "What?" Maddie asked. Elena nodded. Maddie looked at her sister in confusion. "Elena, what is he talking about?" Elena looked at Maddie. "The only thing that I had to do for him to agree to this was that I went in with him." Elena explained. Haley shook her head. "Why?" Haley asked. Damon looked at Bonnie, Lily and Grams. "So that they don't seal me in." Damon took Elena's arm. "Don't take her in." Haley told him. "Aw." Damon told her. He looked at Elena. "She's worried about you. I'd take that as a compliment." Maddie bit her lip. Haley noticed her nervous gaze. "Damon?" Maddie asked. Damon paused, turned. Maddie ran toward Damon. "Whatever happens. I'm here." Maddie whispered as she wrapped her arms around his waist. Damon let go of Elena, wrapping his arms around her. "I know." Elena, Haley, Isaiah, and the others watched with a small smile. "I'll bring the walls down." Grams told him. Maddie gasped, letting go and turning around. "You'll bring the walls down if I don't." Damon replied. "You think I trust you?" Maddie watched between Damon and Grams, worriedly. Haley gently took her niece from Damon, gaining a grateful nod. Haley just gave a nod back, wrapping her arms around Maddie. "As much as I trust you." Grams answered. "Enough." Maddie told them, stepping forward. "Both of you. Look, he needs leverage. He needs to know that you're not going to shut the door when he gets inside. We get it. I'll go instead of Elena." Damon and Elena immediately shook their head. "Mm-mm. No. You're not going on there. I'm going in. I'll be fine." Maddie shook her head, grabbing a torch. "No, Elena. Let me." Maddie gave her a look, which Elena got and stepped backward. Maddie walked toward Damon, gesturing toward the entryway. Damon smirked, yet worried. "May I?" He turned to grab a torch from the circle. Maddie looked at Lily, Grams, Elena, Bonnie and Haley, nodding reassuringly, following her brother inside. Haley sighed an annoyed sigh, looking up to the stone ceiling above her. Elena bit her lip, worried for her sister.

Damon led the way though the tomb with the torch lighting the way. Maddie followed behind him. Damon glanced back behind him, worried and concerned for his sister. They heard whispers all around them. "What is that?" Maddie asked, stepping closer toward Damon. "They can sense you." Damon answered. Maddie took a deep breath of air, letting that sink in. "Now, where is she?" Damon walked away, leaving Maddie behind. "Damon?" Maddie called out, nerves kicking in. "Damon, this isn't funny." Maddie told him. There was no answer. "Damon!" Maddie called, turning on her flashlight, leading the way further into the tomb, trying to keep up with Damon.

Maddie was walking slowly, with the flashlight shining the way through. "Damon?" Maddie asked, her voice echoing through the tomb. "Damon!" Maddie heard continuing whispering around her. Maddie sworn she heard Madelyn a couple of times, as if they recognized the Salvatore girl. Maddie was startled, falling. Maddie's flashlight beam landed on one of the desiccated vampires. She walked around the room, seeing more and more vampires. "Damon!" Maddie yelled, panicked, tripping over one of the vampires, gasping in shock. The vampire's eyes opened, transformed in hunger. Maddie screamed as loud as she could. Maddie turned around, toward the exit. The flashlight beam landed on Anna. Anna stepped closer. "Maddie?" She asked concerned. "What are you doing here?" Anna asked. For Anna, she was concerned for Maddie, as she was an old friend. She didn't expect Maddie to be inside the tomb, but she had expected Elena. "Anna.." Maddie breathed, panicking slightly less. "Damon left that way." Maddie pointed toward deeper into the tomb. Anna glanced over that way, mentally scolding Damon for leaving her defenseless.

Isaiah and Stefan rejoined Haley, Elena, Bonnie, Lily and Grams. Stefan looked around. "Where is Maddie?" Haley glanced toward the tomb. Isaiah caught on. "Damon took her inside, taking Elena's place." Haley answered. "What?" Stefan asked worriedly, running toward the tomb. Haley grabbed his arm to stop him. "Stefan! If you go in there, you won't come out." Isaiah glanced over at the three witches in confused suspicion. "What did you do?" Lily looked guilty as she pleaded at Isaiah. "Opening the door didn't remove the seal." Grams told them. "It just opened the door." Isaiah frowned. "What's the seal?" He asked. "Some seals keep vampires from entering." Grams told them. "This one keeps them from coming out." Isaiah frowned, knowing they were hiding something. "Maddie is human." Stefan breathed. "She can leave." Haley realized something. "Anna, Pearl, Katherine, Alissa can't." Haley told them. She blinked. "Damon can't." Haley looked at Grams. "You were never planning on breaking the seal, were you?" Isaiah narrowed his eyes toward the entrance of the tomb. "I told you." Grams told her, taking a step back to stand next to Bonnie. "I will protect my own. Maddie can get out. That's all it matters." Isaiah knew something was amiss, but couldn't figure out what was. Haley shook her head, knowing Maddie would've wanted Damon out. Stefan sighed.

Anna held a flashlight toward Maddie. "I'm sorry." Anna murmured. "You must have a taste for it. You scream, and shriek, and even bother to escape, but then you just come right back to it." Maddie tripped over a desiccated version of Pearl, falling back to the ground. Anna noticed, worried in an instant. "Mother!" She knelt to her mother's side. Maddie stayed perfectly still, breathing steady. Maddie knew that Anna needed her blood to awake her mother, and she felt pity. "Take it." Maddie whispered. Anna looked at Maddie in disbelief. Anna turned serious. "Your brother did this, you know." Maddie widened her eyes in fear. "I know you're Madelyn. Don't worry. I'll keep your secret." Maddie nodded. "His father did." Maddie corrected Anna after a moment. "And Jonathan Gilbert." Anna added. Maddie's eyes furrowed in confusion. "I made a choice a long time ago that it would be Gilbert blood that would wake them up. I had Jeremy all ready to go, but..." Maddie's eyes widen. "Take it. I understand. She's your mother." Anna gave a small sad smile, pulling Maddie's wrist toward Pearl. Anna bit Maddie's wrist, holding it to Pearl's lips. Pearl drank from Maddie's wrist, recognizing Maddie's scent. Maddie screamed.

Haley, Isaiah, Stefan, Bonnie, Lily, Elena and Grans heard the echoes of Maddie's scream. Stefan rushed inside the tomb. Haley rushed after him. "Stefan!" Isaiah started to move forward. Grams put herself in between Isaiah and the doorway. Haley tried to pull Isaiah away. "Move out of my way." Isaiah told Grams, calmly. "Isaiah." Haley told him. "Don't." Bonnie, Elena and Lily looked at Grams. "You can't just leave him in there, Grams!" Lily had tears falling. "He made his choice!" Grams told them. Haley let go of Isaiah anxiously, pacing away from them, running her hands through her hair, concerned. "No." Lily turned to Bonnie. "Bonnie." Bonnie nodded. "Here." Bonnie told them, turning away, picking up the grimoire, looking desperately at Grams. "Just show me what to do, we can do it." Lily nodded, silently pleading. "We are not strong enough, even with Lily." Grams told her. "Even if we were able to bring the seal down, there's no guarantee that we could get it back up again." Lily's eyes held determination. Haley and Isaiah turned to the witches. "Channel me." Isaiah cut in. The witches turned to Isaiah. Bonnie turned to Grams. "You said it yourself, many things can fuel a witch's power." Bonnie reminded Grams. "Help us, or we'll do it alone." Grams looked at Lily and Bonnie worriedly.

Anna continued to hold Maddie still so Pearl could feed whilst Maddie stayed still. Maddie's tears were pouring down her cheeks, feeling drowsy and pain. Stefan ran in. "Let her go!" Maddie sighed in relief of one brother. "Not yet!" Anna told him. Stefan grabbed Maddie, pulling her away from Anna, pushing her toward the exit. "Go. Go. I'm right behind you." Maddie ran away toward the exit. Anna let her go, turning to Pearl. "Annabelle." Pearl opened her eyes. Stefan backed away slowly, questioning if someone else was in here.

Maddie approached the entryway, unable to pass through the threshold. All eyes turned to her, confusion laced through them as Maddie was unable to cross. Stefan came beside Maddie, his eyes held confusion. "Guys? Why can't I cross?" Maddie asked warily, confusion apparent. "Stefan, what are you doing?" Elena turned to face him worriedly. "Maddie?" Elena asked. "It's gonna be okay." Bonnie told them. "We'll fix it." Maddie glanced over at Stefan, confused and in pain. "Stef.." She groaned, and fell over onto him. "Maddie." Stefan caught her, gazing at her wrist worriedly. "What is it?" Haley asked. "We can't." Stefan told them. "Can't?" Elena repeated. "Can't what?" Isaiah gazed at Maddie worriedly, and confused, but a look of realization only Stefan caught. Isaiah gave a mild nod as if he'll explain later. "The spell's still up." Lily told them. "We can't get them out. Yet." Elena looked at Stefan and Maddie. "You two went in there not knowing if you can come back out?" Stefan looked down. "Maddie's human.. she should be able to.. Oh, my God." Stefan looked up. "I heard her scream, and I—I had to." Elena looked at them in worried realization. "We can't leave them in there. We promised him. All of us." Stefan nodded. "I know." Maddie stood up, pressing pressure to her wrist, turning around, walking back further into the tomb. Stefan turned around, facing her in confusion. "Even if we're able to break the seal, we won't be able to hold it for long." Grams told them. Stefan nodded, turning around, following Maddie to get Damon.

Maddie was still walking, blind without a flashlight. Damon was still searching the tomb for Katherine or Alissa. Frustrated, he kicked the dirt in the ground. "They're not here." Maddie was walking. "Maddie." Stefan rushed toward her, gently grabbing her bare arm. Maddie let Stefan guide her further. Damon was still searching, looking at the blood bag in his hand. Stefan and Maddie approached him. "Damon." Maddie murmured softly. "They aren't here." Damon told them. "What?" Stefan asked. "They aren't here!" Damon yelled in anger, anguish and betrayal, throwing it into the stone wall, making the bag burst and the blood splatter all over the wall and for. Stefan and Maddie looked at Damon worriedly. A break in a wall alerted Maddie, she slowly walked toward it, eyes furrowed. Maddie gently pushed against the stone wall, making it croak open wide as Maddie slipped through. Maddie turned to see Stefan and Damon standing in front of one another. Maddie sighed as she noticed a torch, grabbing it, seeing a staircase, started to walk forward, downward, deeper into the tomb.

Stefan was with Damon. "It's not worth spending eternity down here." He told him. "They're not worth it! And I'm sure Alissa is alive." Neither brother noticed their sister's presence missing. "No!" Damon told him, angrily pushing him away. Damon heard the approach of running footsteps, looking behind Stefan to see who it was. Haley appeared out of the darkness. "Damon! Please." Stefan and Damon looked at Haley in surprise for a moment. Damon walked toward. "Wait.." Stefan paused, looking around. "Where's Maddie?" Damon paused, glancing around in confusion and eyes widening in worry as he noticed a stone wall crack. Damon rushed toward the entryway and down the staircase. "Tell them we're coming." Stefan told Haley, who nodded. "Hurry!" Haley yelled as Stefan rushed after Damon.

Maddie walked further until she hit something against her abdomen. She lowered the torch to see a tomb of a figure decayed into bones, with initials and a grimoire book inside it. Maddie gently touched the tomb, gasping as she recognized the initials. MFS. "Oh, my God." Her eyes widening, and setting the torch in a hole on the stone wall. Maddie gently tried to pry the tomb open, but to her it seemed it was spelled shut. "Maddie!" She heard Damon yell. Damon rushed in, seeing a tomb with a grimoire inside it. "Maddie?" He asked confused. "Damon.. I can't get it open." Maddie told him. Stefan rushed in, recognizing the tomb. "Maddie..." Stefan asked. Damon glanced at his brother. "Come on, we'll come back. We have a red haired witch to help." Damon grabbed Maddie into his arms, rushing towards the entryway of the tomb. Stefan blew-out the torch, but leaving in the hole, rushing after Damon. The three did not notice a figure hidden behind a pillar, watching them, with hope.

Damon, Stefan and Maddie walked out of the tomb. The last of the torches extinguished itself. Elena ran into Stefan's arms in relief. Haley turned to Isaiah with a smile of a relief. Damon stood at the entrance with Maddie in his arms, completely numb. Haley turned toward Damon, looked at him in sympathy. Stefan, Haley and Elena walked out of the tomb, running toward Jeremy, seeing a figure talking to him. "Jer?" Elena asked worriedly. Jeremy looked at the figure then toward his sister. "I'm okay, Tatum saved me." Jeremy nodded toward Tatum with a smile. "I'm all right." Jeremy groaned as Elena and Haley hugged him. Damon walked out of the tomb, in despair. Maddie was holding his hand, not letting go. Haley looked toward him for a moment, walking toward him, wrapping her arms around him, leaning her head against his shoulder. "I'm sorry." Damon stood still, squeezing Maddie's hand a bit. Haley let go, turned around and walking toward Elena and Jeremy, along with Tatum who was introducing himself to Elena.

As Damon was sitting in a chair, Maddie was standing behind him, a hand on his shoulder. Her wrist had been healed due to Damon's blood. "You know Alissa and Katherine wasn't in there." Anna turned to see Damon and Maddie. "You wouldn't have helped me." Anna told him meekly. Damon rushed toward them, pushing Anna to the floor, grabbing Pearl's throat. "Damon!" Maddie yelled. "No! No!" Anna's eyes widen. "Why do you get a happy ending?" Damon demanded. Maddie kept quiet, knowing Damon was hurt and betrayed. "Damon, please!" Anna told him, scrambling to stand. "You wouldn't have helped me, you know you wouldn't have." Maddie gazed at Pearl. "I would've." Damon and Anna turned to Maddie. "I would've helped you, Anna. If you asked me. I lost my mother, but you deserved yours. I would've helped you whether Damon didn't." Maddie told her quietly. Anna stared at Maddie in shock. After a moment, Damon turned to Anna. "Why do you get it and I don't?" Damon demanded. Pearl forced herself to speak. "The guard. The one at the church. The one who locked us in. She promised to turn him." Maddie's eyes widen. "He was obsessed with her." Pearl told him. "She had him under her spell, like everybody else. He let her go." Damon looked at Maddie, then at them for a moment, believing them, letting them go. Anna held Pearl as if she would never let go. "Last I saw her was Chicago, 1983, and Alissa, I don't know if she's even alive. Katherine knee where you were, Damon. She didn't care." Damon looked unbelievably hurt. "Sorry." Anna wrapped her arms around Pearl, crying. "I found a tomb..." Maddie spoke up, causing Anna and Pearl to glance at her. Damon glanced in confusion. "I found a tomb with my decayed body and a grimoire. I couldn't get out." Maddie explained. Pearl sent a sad smile. "Emily spelled the coffin to the tomb, to preserve you. You were a danger to vampires, for your blood is potent. Emily wanted to protect you. Katherine and Alissa asked her to. Katherine did, but she did not know you'd actually reborn. Alissa knew you'd be alive. She left you that grimoire inside of it. To help you. The tomb sealed you inside to protect you from vampires." Pearl told Maddie. Damon was stunned. Maddie's eyes widened in shock. Damon walked to Maddie, hesitantly walked out of the room, leaving.

Damon and Maddie were out in the woods, sitting a log. Maddie had cradled Damon's head to her chest as he cried. All the hurt, all the pain, the betrayal was too much. "I'm sorry Damon. Don't be angry with me. But I kind of knew Katherine wouldn't be trapped, but I didn't know for sure. I wanted to make sure before I told you." Maddie whispered. She closed her eyes. Maddie felt fingers brushing against her cheeks, as she didn't realize she was crying. "I know." Damon told her. Damon and Maddie faced the woods, staying completely silent.

The figure hidden in the shadows, watched the two of them with a sad smile. "Soon, my loves. Soon." She whispered, staying completely silent, walking backwards, undetected.
