Y/N P.O.V
The night sky hung over the tall trees of the forest. At the time, I was only nine. I didn't exactly remember how I had ended up in the forest. Everything seemed to be a blur. All I could do was run, my breaths shallow and uneven. Even the tiniest noise scared me.
The loud shouts of the thieves echoed in my mind as if on a constant loop. The red fire that danced in front of my eyes. The loud of the walls as they came crashing down and my mothers hand that lay limp under the catastrophe. The scary figure had gripped my arm tightly and dragged me away.
Somehow, I was able to rip myself from the theives grip and run deep into the forest. Somehow, I had lost them. My H/C hair was about as tangled as a rats nest.
With a single clap of thunder, rain began to pour. The small F/C dress that hung around my body was drenched. I wrapped my arms around my torso in hopes of finding some sort of warmth.
My E/C eyes scanned the area for anywhere to shelter myself from the rain. Every thunder clap, I yelped and gripped my arms tighter. Suddenly, a bright lavender caught my eye.
A tree different from any other in the Fairy Kings forest stood tall in front of me. I quickly ducked under the tree and sat down on the muddy ground. The leaves of the tree were enough to stop most of the rain from reaching me.
I pulled my knees to my chest tightly and cried. At that moment, I had no idea what to do. The thunder continued to frighten me and everything was dark. Every small noise of a twig breaking or the rustle of a bush startled me.
"Hello?" A gentle voice called out. I looked up and my eyes widened. A fairy stood before me with a gentle gaze. The thunder clapped once and I immediately ran towards her and hugged her tightly.
"I'm scared..., p-please don't leave me alone," my voice shook and cracked. She leaned down to look me in the eyes and smiled. "I won't leave. Would you mind telling me your name? I'm Gerheade," she smiled.
"Y/N," I replied meekly as I looked up at her. She nodded and gave a smile. "Let's get you out of the rain. You'll catch a cold out here like this," she extended her hand and I grasped it gently. "Thank you," was all I could muster through my tears.

🌸🌸Present Day🌸🌸
..........
After that day, I chose to stay in the Fairy Kings forest. Gerheade and I had become very close friends. That day I had asked her the name of that tree. It was called a Wisteria Tree.
I didn't live directly with the fairies. I had built a tiny but by the Wisteria Tree. I had met Gloxinia once and he had given me some Wisteria seeds as a gift.
I walked outside of my hut to see a very familiar sight. Often, I would be visited by Gerheade and the fairy children and there they were. Gerheade waved and gave a smile. This time, there were four fairies with her; Terra, Trix, Mirai, and Jade.
I ran to Gerheade and gave her a big hug. "I see that you brought some friends today," I smiled. Gerheade chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, I did..-" she smiled.
"These michivous boys are named Terra and Jade. These two angels are Mirai and Trix," She gestured to each child as she spoke their name. I leaned down and ruffled their hair. "I'm Y/N! It's a pleasure to meet all of you!"
Mirai smiled and jumped into my arms. "Lady Gerheade has told us a lot about you. She says that you know how to make flower crowns- do you think you could teach me?" She asked with a gleam of hope in her blue eyes.
"Of course I can!" I exclaimed. "I've been growing a lot of flowers. We can go and pick some that you'd like to use," I offered and stood up. "Would you all like to join us as well?" They all gave a meek nod and I giggled.
"Lady Gerheade!" A voice called out from the air. She looked up and she gasped in surprise. "Sir Sariel? What are you doing here? Wasn't there a meeting that all of you had to attend?" She asked.
Sariel sighed and began to explain. "King Gloxinia sent me to look for you. He has requested your presence," he explained. Mirai sighed. "Does that mean we have to leave? We haven't been here for long. I wanna stay Lady Gerheade," she pouted.
Gerheade turned to the children and glanced up at Sariel. "Sir Sariel, could you please stay here with the children for me? They've been waiting so long for this, I can't bear to crush their dreams," the four children ran to Sariel and gave the classic puppy dog eyes.
He tried to look away, but gave in with a sigh. "Fine! Only for a little while though. I am an arch-angel after all, I don't get much free time," Sariel huffed. Gerheade smiled brightly and flew to me.
"I know that you aren't a huge fan of the goddess race, but please tolerate Sir Sariel for me. The children have been waiting so long for this. I'll try not to be long," Gerheade flew off with no time for me to protest.
I sighed and tried to brush off Sariel's presence. "Alright everyone! Let's go make those flower crowns!" I cheered. Terra ran to Sariel and tugged on his arm. "You should make some with us Sir Sariel," he offered before running off to follow us with a pure smile.
Sariel's eyebrow raised in confusion, but nonetheless he followed since he was obligated to watch the children. After the children had selected their flowers, we all sat in the field behind my hut.
As I taught the children, I had noticed that Sariel stood off in the distance, leaning against the Wisteria tree. I glared at him for a small second before returning to the flowers.
The Goddess Clan was gloated and only seemed to care for themselves or their image. It aggrivated me to my very core. All of the different races were equal, so why was it that the goddess race seemed to act like they're so much better than everyone else.
"Sir Sariel seems sad. Can you give this to him for me? He's a little scary-" Jade held a small flower crown in his hands. I had yet to hear Jade speak and I could only assume that he was very shy.
I hesitantly nodded my head. "Of course, Jade," I stood up and walked towards Sariel and held out the flower crown. "Jade made this for you," I faked a small smile.
He glaned down at it, but returned his gaze to the ground. "Thanks, but no thanks. An arch-angel would never wear a flower crown. It's stupid," Sariel mumbled.
I bit my lip to contain my irritation. "Does it really matter if you're an arch-angel? It's a flower crown that a sweet child made for you because he thought you looked sad. So you're accepting this whether you like it or not," I proclaimed.
"Fine!" He huffed. "I'll take it, but I won't wear it. I have some dignity left in me,"
.......
After that day, Gerheade started to become more busy helping with the forest. Gloxnia was always busy with the war and had little time to help the fairies, so that was left up to Gerheade.
The children enjoyed helping me with my garden and they came every week. Although, Sariel had to take care of them most of the time.
But the more that Sariel and I spoke, the more of him I saw. At first, he would stay silent awkwardly and refuse to participate.
"An arch-angel does not help plant flowers,"
"An arch-angel would never skip rocks at a lake for fun,"
"I refuse to help you bake a cake. An arch-angel does not bake,"
That was all that he said. It was always 'arch-angel' this and 'arch-angel' that. However, as time went by, he started to loosen up. Sariel almost never ranted about being an arch-angel anymore. In fact, we even got him to make a flower crown and wear it.
Week by week, my opinion on Sariel began to change. He was a lot less stern than he appeared to be. Sariel was kind and compassionate. Any time one of the children got hurt, he was there in a heart beat.
........
Today wasn't any different from most. I got ready for the day and watered my plants. I was currently under the Wisteria Tree, looking at the sunset in the distance. Suddenly; a sight of white wings caught my eye in the sky. "Sariel!"
I called out and he flew down in front of me. Normally, he would only be around this area when he was taking the children, but today was different. He limped over to me and rested his head on my shoulder.
I scanned his wings to see that they were covered in blood and his body in wounds. "You're hurt! What happened?!" I asked frantically, gripping onto his shoulders tightly to keep him upright.
"It was a demon, but I was caught off guard and- you can see the result," he let out a cough and I could see him desperately trying to keep his eyes open.
"Don't worry, I have some medical supplies. Let's get you cleaned up," I carried Sariel into my hut and set him down on the couch. "You don't have to do that. I'll be fine-" he tried to convince me, but I was already gone and gathering medical supplies.
After a while of fighting, I finally got Sariel to let me see his wounds. There was a huge gash across his chest. Something about the scene made my heart ach. I pulled back once I had finished wrapping the bandage.
"You idiot," I mumbled. Sariel's eyes widened. I looked up at him with tears running down my face. "You could have died!" I cried. He seemed to be in shock. "You scared me. You can't just come by with a huge wound like that and expect me to brush it off! I care about you dummy!"
His hand gently wiped away my tears and pulled my head into his chest. "Sorry that I scared you, but I'm alright. Please don't cry," he pulled away and smiled softly.
Suddenly I realised.....that his smile made me happy. Being with Sariel was something I had begun to loom forward to. When he pulled me into his chest, I felt butterflies.
I realized in that moment.....
I had fallen for Sariel, a member of the Goddess Clan, a clan that I had despised for so long
"Sariel- I-" I struggled to find the words. Sariel pulled me into his chest once again and wrapped his arms around me tightly. "Y/N, I have something that I've been meaning to tell you," his face was covered in a pink dust. I nodded slowly. "Yeah? What is it?" I asked.
Sariel bit his lip before suddenly cupping my cheek. "I like you," he said softly. My eyes widened. "In that battle, the only thing I could think about was how I needed to live. I needed to live so that I could tell you how I feel,"
My brain basically exploded in that moment. My face was tear stained and my cheeks were covered in a blush with E/C eyes wide. I slowly leaned in and kissed his lips gently. I pulled back and smiled. "Dummy;" I chuckled. "Took ya' long enough," I teased him. Sariel leaned in and captured my lips in his with a big smile, finally happy to know that she felt the same.
