Chapter 5

Y/N P.O.V

Meliodas sighed softly giving me a stern look. "Look, I know that you're trying to protect this demon, but what if they're out to hurt you...many demons are excellent at manipulating," I chuckled softly, slowly letting to of Sariel and Tarmiel.

"You trust me, right?" I asked. Meliodas suddenly sighed and changed his stern look to a smile. "I do!" I giggled happily. "Thennn-" I leld it out. "Stop interrogating me! I'll tell you who it is another time. Maybe after the wars over....when we'll all be safe to be ourselves," I gave one last smile.

"Wait! As your brother, I demand to know!" Sariel suddenly shouted. I laughed and put a finger near my mouth. "I'll tell you all when the time is right! I promise! Just trust me, like I trust him!" I smiled brightly. Even just the thought of the demon made me happy.

While the group was interrogating the young goddess, Ludociel contacted Nerobasta, telepathically, to call for reinforcements. To call for Mael. Except, when Nerobasta went to open the Celestial Gate, she was met with Melascula and Gowther.

Suddenly, a chill went down my spin. Something's wrong. Very wrong. "Something's not right. Ki- Gloxinia and I will go see what's up," Drole spoke. "I'll come too," Meliodas offered, but Gloxinia turned him down. "No, you need to tend to Elizabeth and those Two Commandments,"

"Then I'll go," I offered. "I can stand in for Meliodas," the two nodded, quickly taking off deeper into the woods. The two kings had their own conconversation. Unconsciously, I seemed to block it out. My own thoughts ran rampant across my mind. Was Zeldris here? What if he was-

Just when I decided to look up, I was met with a pink haired male. "Ahh!" I screamed loudly; immediately flying back and latching onto Gloxinia. "Scary pink man! I repeat, there is a scary pink man in the bushes!!!" I yelled.

"Now...where are those glasses.." the puppet muttered around to himself before turning arouns. "Hello, my name is Gowther. Nice to meet you, Fairy King Gloxinia, Giant King Drole, and [Y/N] a member of the goddess race," he smirked.

"I know everything about you. Even things you don't even know yourselves. It's all right here," Gowther pointed towards his head. "Creepy....I was right about calling him a scary pink man..."

"What was that?!" Gloxinia exclaimed, throwing my comment off to the side. Abruptly, Gowther started to laugh uncontrollably. "Nice, huh? What do you think? Especially villanous, right?" Drole and Gloxinia just seemed to fall over.

"Ugghh! What is up with this kid? He's throwing me off!" Drole groaned. Gowther clapped slowly, smiling oddly. "Thanks for the excellent reaction, but I have to admit that these trivial interactions are quite pleasant. Please forgive me. I have no ill will," Gowther spoke.

"No way," Gloxinia growled. "You're not Gowther," I looked up at Gloxnia, concerningly. "Glox," I muttered. "Huh? Of course I'm Gowther. Who else would I be? What is it you're trying to say?" Gowther asked.

"I don't know how to explain it. You just seem different- from the you that I know," Gloxinia explained. "In other words, you know a me that I don't know? Interesting topic," suddenly, a hologram of Melascula appeared.

"Gowther, I'm going to close it. Don't forget that you're treating me to five barrels of wine later," Melascula added. "I understand," Gowther turned around to face the two kings once again.

For some reason, the two seemed oddly shocked. "Gowther, why are you with the ten commandments?" Drole asked, eyes still wide. "Odd, you seem to know that I am Gowther, but not that I am a member of the Ten commandments," I bit my lip. That was just our luck.

"I'm sorry! Take things from here for me!" I quickly flew away. Magic power was dissapering every second. People were dying. I seemed to get away from the group fast enough. I felt awful, but I can't sit around while others were dying. Besides, they seemed to have a personal connection to Gowther. It didn't feel like my place.

My eyes widened at what was transpiring. "Gerheade!" I flew down to her. She had tears streaming down her face, eyes wide. "[Y/N]?" Her voice barely came out as more than a whisper.

I looked around quickly, my eyes darting. "Stay here, I'll handle things!" I flew away despite her desperate pleas. I flew straight to the gateway. I pushed the humans out of the way and forced myself inside the base.

"Nerobasta!" I entered the room to see a man in a wheelchair exit from the gate. My eyes widened. This magic power- "You're both members of the Ten Commandments, aren't you?" I stood my ground.

Melascula glared at me, even though ger body couldn't move. "You're one of those darned goddessess!" she snarled. I nodded. I looked down at Nerobasta's bloody form. "You've killed her...." I muttered.

"Wait-" Melascula suddenly spoke. "There's remnants of Zeldris's magical power near her," she muttered. My eyes widened. "You know Zeldris! Please, you have to tell me where he is!" Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain go through my stomach. "You're annoying. Besides, I won't let a goddess go near one of our comrades!" She screamed.

Amist our fight, Gowther had dissapeared and Melascula was set free. "Please! I need to speak with him. I don't want this war to end in bloodshed. Too many lives have been taken!" My stomach burned. The blood tainted my [F/C] dress.

"I won't let a goddess tell us any more lives! That goddess Elizabeth already lied to us and look where it got us! All of the demons you took captive were our comrades and you KILLED them!!" She shouted, tears welled up in her eyes.

"I was right, Ludociel. They're just as human as any of us," I muttered. "Please! I know that you may not trust me, but ask Zeldris and you'll have all your answer-" I suddenly had a coughing fit. Melascula screamed angrily, punching my face. She did it again and again, but I let her. Tears streamed down her face. Her sobbing cries echoed throughout the room.

"You have to die. Now! I have to kill you before he comes! I won't let you near him so you can go and kill him!" She screamed. I braced myself for the impact, but none ever came. I opened my eyes to see none other than Zeldris. Before Melascula's attack could reach me, he'd grabbed her wrist.

"Don't hurt her. She's a friend of mine," Zeldris spoke. There was a small hint of venom in his voice. "Wait! You're friends with a goddess-" before she could press any further, the demon interrupted her.

"Leave us. Now," He glared at her. His grip tightened until she finally left. He immediately bent down next to me. I smiled happily and wrapped my arms around him. "You're here," I cried, biting my lip as the tears fell. "I'm sorry!" I put my face in his chest.

"I couldn't save any of those captive demons. I-I couldn't convince Ludociel. The demon race is sufforing too, but I couldn't do anything! Even with what you taught me, I failed!" I cried, gripping onto his shirt tightly. My eyes widened when he wrapped his arms around me.

"Don't cry. None of that was your fault. You did what you could," Zeldris spoke softly. I looked up at him and nodded. "Thank you, Zeldris," I smiled.

He cupped my cheek and scanned my injuries. "I'm sorry. You've been injured because I couldn't get here fast enough," he grit his teeth together. I shook my head. "Not at all. I was being stupid," I smiled up at him.

I engulfed him into another hug. "I suppose that I should let you go. We shouldn't be together for too long. Someone might se-" suddenly, I started coughing uncontrollably. "Hey! What's wrong!?" Zeldris asked quickly. His voice was filled with worry. I've never heard him with so much emotion in his voice.

"Zeldris! Get away from her!" I turned my head to see Meliodas and Elizabeth. All the other Ten Commandments were unconscious, but they were there nonetheless. If all Ten Commandments were sent into the gate, they would be sealed away in Purgatory. "No! It's not what you think! Melioda-" I tried to shout, but I started coughing again.

Meliodas's eyes were filled with rage. "How could you hurt her!? She tried so hard to protect the Demon Race!" He immediately ran over, his sword in hand as he let out a battle cry.

Sariel flew into the room. Upon seeing me, he immediately threw a punch to his face and took me from Zeldris and into his own arms. "Give her back! I didn't hurt her!" Zeldris defended himself.

I could barely keep my eyes open. "S-stop....he saved me..." My eyes started to droop down. Sariel stayed silent. His grip on me only tightened. The gate was opened and Tarmiel threw the other Ten Commandments in. Zeldris tried his best to fight against Meliodas, but eventually he was pushed into the gate. "I'll come back for you! I promise!" Those were the last words I heard Zeldris say for 3000 years.....

"I know you will..."

Originally, I was going to kill you off- but then it just didn't work out that way xD

This chapter was kind of hard to write since I wasn't 100% certain on the end of the Holy War so I did my best to fill in the blank space😅
