Chapter 35
Y/N P.O.V
Meliodas looked at all of us in utter shock. "You all really came...." he muttered.
"Gowther....this is your doing.." the Demon King growled.
"Yep! Although, we are in spirit form, so we can not directly intervine, but that doesn't mean we can't support you-" Gowther suddenly stopped speaking.
"What's wrong-" King suddenly stopped speaking. I ran over to King and clasped my hand over his mouth. Gowther chuckled softly. "You gotta read the room," he laughed.
I watched Elizabeth and Meliodas embrace eachother. I puffed out my cheeks and crossed my arms. "Are you feeling single right now, Y/N?" Gowther whispered in my ear.
I nodded slowly. I turned around and stuffed my face in his chest. "I miss Zeldris and it's only been like ten minutessss," I whined, my voice muffled.
Rumbles erupted from all around us as the Demon King began to attack. Meliodas's attack had harmed the Demon King; he bled from multiple wounds darted across his body from his arms to his legs.
"How dare you-! What is this power?" The Demon King muttered in complete shock.
"There presence gives me strength and meaning gives me power. One like no other! You have no chance of winning now!" Meliodas fought back, the Demon King slowly loosing control.
I watched in awe as Meliodas continued to fight against the Demon King.
....I've watched them suffer for 3000 long years....is their freedom...finally close?....
"Do your best Captain!"
"You can do it, Captain!"
...We encouraged him as he fought on...
"Your darkness...even frightens me-" The Demon King sighed. "Is that a block of compressed darkness? What unfathomable power..." Gowther noted.
"Yeah, he came up with the idea in the Cave of Training of the Druids," King confirmed. "It was based on my condensed power, but now- since the Captains magical power has increased- it's even greater than before!"
"It's odd. Just knowing that you're all here for me, it brings me energy," Meliodas looked up at the Demon King with an intense gaze.
"King"
"Diane"
"Gowther"
"Merlin"
"Escanor"
"Y/N"
"And....Elizabeth"
"I'm fine now thanks to you- so we can save Ban!"
Meliodas's compressed magic swirled around the Demon Kings sword, turning it into swiss cheese.
"Listen Captain! I am a man whom is a pain during the day and useless at night! But for you- I am happy to fight until the moment I take my last breath! You're my dear friend! And you've saved me time and time again! I'm so grateful!"
..Escanor..
"Don't stop Captain. If you give up on us even for a moment; we're going to have to make good on that promise!"
..Merlin..
"Because of you I was finally able to get my heart back! But you didn't do it alone...ALL of the Sins made it happen! So! For finding the Seven Deadly Sins, you have to come back! You brought us together!"
..Gowther..
"Captain! Please- we need to talk! I want us to have a proper conversation so I can apologize! "
..King..
"Let me remind you- the Dragon Sin Meliodas of the Seven Deadly Sins is the strongest of all of us!"
..Diane..
"Mel! You've been my dear friend for my whole life! You're like a brother to me! Besides, I made a promise to Gowther that we'd all drink 'til we couldn't any more after this! And YOU need to be there for that!"
..Y/N..
"Meliodas! I'll be waiting for you!"
..Elizabeth..
Meliodas gave us his usual smirk and smiled, summoning all of the power he had. "And I'll be there! For all of that! I promise!" He chuckled.
...Suddenly...
My ears began to ring and a voice echoed in my mind.
'Meliodas...I leave the rest...to you..'
My eyes widened.
"Zel..." I muttered in shock. "Please...don't die on me...we're almost there....and we can be happy....together.."
I shook my mind to get back into my right mind.
"Meliodas! You can do it!"
With all his courage, Meliodas shouted once more
"Time to finish this! Get. Out. Of. My. Body!! TRILLION DARK!!"
Then suddenly, the space around us began to fade to black.
.........
My eyes opened once again in the present world. Ban stood in front of an unconsious Demon King, panting harshly.
I glanced around, to see the Seven Deadly Sins conscious all around me. I turned my attention to The Demon King and Ban once again. The Demon crumpled around on the floor in pain.
Suddenly, he began sprinting and jumping from place to place, nonstop, only leaving nothing more than an after-image.
"It seems that the Demon King is in his last stage and he's trying to take the Captain with him!" Merlin exclaimed, leaning on Escanor for support. "We need to drive him out now!"
"We just have to figure out 'how' to stop this lunatic-!" Ban ran forward to save his best friend, grabbing hold of the Demon King in his tracks. "And on top of that; you're a sore loser!"
Ban was pushed back, his feet digging into the dirt. He threw the Demon King into the air with all his strength with a cry.
"Now; Ark!"
"Perfect Cube!"
"Pollen Garden!"
"Everlasting Dark!"
"- Combined Technique! Quadruple Prison!"
All of our abilities combined into one, containing the Demon King, but his momentum never stopped and he eventually broke through, falling to the ground harshly.
Hawk ran up and put his (porky hand thingssss???) On the Demon Kings eyes.
"Get ready for my ultimate technique! Pig Dark!"
Diane's violet eyes held determination as she displayed her Gideon towards the bright sky.
"Diamond Tower!"
A tower of crystal formed under the Demon King; his body being brought high into the air. "Go get him Ban!"
We all nodded; placing our faith in Ban. He ran up the crystal tower and found himself at the very top, where the Demon King Lay.
"YOU'RE THROUGH DEMON KING! TIME TO BRING THE CAPTAIN BACK!"
Ban threw a punch and slammed The Demon King straight through the crystal tower and straight to the ground below.
We all looked up in anticipation. "What happened?" Diane mumbled in worry.
"Ughhh, I feel like crappp," a familiar childish voice reached us all. I smiled brightly, tears welling up in my eyes. "I think we all feel like crap right now Captain," Ban proved he was alive by speaking.
"Welcome back, Meliodas," Elizabeth whiped her teary eyes. In reply, he gave his own bright smile.
"You dummy!!" I yelled, tears in my eyes. "I'm never worrying about you again!" I huffed. "N/Nnnnnn," Mel held it out as he whined.
"How can you say thattt...you're so mean!!" Meliodas continued to whine.
"Ludociel!"
A pained voice returned us from our playful banter. I turned around to face Mael holding Ludociel in his arms.
My eyes widened, my feet moving of their own accord, running towards the other goddesses.
Lot much longer, all of us stood before the scene.
"It's become so quiet..." Ludociel's voice was soft. "Tell me what's happened....I'm afraid I can't see," he continued.
"It's over, brother," Mael whispered. "The Demon King has been defeated. The threat is gone....It's all thanks to the Seven Deadly Sins. They were able to accomplish what no one has been able to do before,"
"Oh? Is that so? Just because we defeated the Demon King....doesn't mean the Holy War is over. This is but one small step along the way," Ludociel's voice began to go quieter.
"The first step towards what will bring the Goddesses and Demons together after loathing the other for so long," Ludociel continued.
"That's very true," Elizabeth agreed. "But I never thought I would hear you say something like that," Elizabeth and I had the very same thoughts.
My eyes widened. "Ludociel....you...-" my lip quivered.
"Please...forget what I've said...I've simply grown weary of this endless and futile conflict. Besidess, I don't want to be smacked again. You pack quite a punch Y/N," he laughed at old memories.
💜💜..●●●..💜💜
"The demon race is no better than a pile of worthless filth. Who would ever recognize them as life forms equal to us?" I bit my lip to contain my anger. How dare he say such a thing?!
"That friend of yours, Meliodas, will be the one to take the Demon King's throne," he took Elizabeth's chin and raised it. His smirk never faltered. "Get your dirty hands off of her!" I yelled. Elizabeth smacked his hand away and flew out of the base. I smiled softly. Good job, Elizabeth. Stand your ground
"How dare you speak to Lord Ludociel in such a way! You are the only filthy one here!" Nerobasta shouted back at me. "Nerbasta, that is enough. You may leave. Do not go after Elizabeth. She can't do anything about the outcome, anyways," Nerobasta nodded her head and respected his wish, her heels clacking behind her as she walked away.
"I admire your courage Lady [Y/N]...but I must ask...why is it that you are so defensive of the demon race? Lady Elizabeth, speaks for herself. But you've never mentioned anything about this before..." he studied me for anything he could use against me. A stutter, a look of concern in my eyes, my gaze faltering, my mind being clouded...he could use anything against me.
"I simply do not believe in your opinion. I have never met a demon besides Meliodas. Meliodas is enough proof that not all demons are bad! So what right do we have to eradicate their whole race!?' I shouted back at him. The demon race didn't deserve this. Zeldris didn't deserve this.
Ludociel laughed. "Do you really believe that there is a sense of good in those demons? Your trust in them will only betray you in the end! That demon friend of yours from earlier; he will betray you,"
My eyes widened. "B-but how did you--" I was at a loss for words. He knew about Zeldris....he knew about Zeldris...he knew about Zeldris!
"It's simple. You've always had remnants of a demons power on you. It was the same energy every day and the same one I felt when I encountered you earlier. You didn't hide it very well," he explained simply. His smirk only grew.
"Wipe that stupid smirk off your face!" I flew up and slapped him straight across the face. "You know nothing about the demon race! They are the same as us. They have human emotions and feelings too! They feel the intense grief of loosing a loved one just as we do! We may be light and dark, but we can't let that define our opinions on one another!" I shouted, tears threatening to spill from my eyes.
I flew towards the entrance, to glance back at Ludociel's shocked expression. "You say that demons are worthleas filth. Well, I think that the only worthless filth here, is you," I immediately flew out, the tears falling from my eyes.
💜💜..●●●..💜💜
I used to hate Ludociel with all of my heart....
So I don't understand....why do I feel sad....
I could feel the tears rolling down my cheeks.
"You should know better than to mess with me!" I smiled proudly, placing my hands on my hips.
Why is my lip quivering so bad? Ludociel hurt Zeldris and I almost killed him for it....I hate him!
No....
That was....never it...
I was just frustrated...
That I couldn't have the calm future with Zeldris and my brother, that I wanted....
💜💜..●●●..💜💜
"[Y/N]? What are you doing out here?" I looked behind me, catching sight of Ludociel landing on the ground. "Umm!!" I struggled to find a way to explain. "I-I was t-training! Yeah!- I...uh- was just trying to gain better control of my magic,"
"I see....." his eyebrow raised. He didn't believe me.....did he? I was afraid of that...
The arch-angel looked around the area, as if he was looking for something- no- someone...
"Did you run into any trouble out here? It's not very safe in the forest. Demons lurk around every corner," his last sentence was laced with vemon. I shook my head. "Not at all. What are you implying? I didn't encounter any demons out here. I've made sure to mask my presence!" I cheered.
Ludociel glanced around before letting out a sigh. "I sense the faint prescence of a demon. However, it's a remnant. That vile creature is not currently here. I shall escort you back to the base. Come, young goddess," Ludociel held out his hand while his wings kept him off the ground. I bit my lip.
💜💜..●●●..💜💜
"You were only trying to protect that day...." I mumbled. "You always had such a weird way of expressing emotions...." I looked off to the side to attempt to mask my despair.
...Old memories never do really die...
"When I was little, you would often visit me and tell me about the world. You would tell me stories of all your adventures...but when I grew up to have an opinion of my own...I was upset that I could no thing to unite our two races and I took that out on you,"
I finally turned to face Ludociel, to show the uncontrollable tears. I kneeled at his side and hugged him by his neck and buried my face in his neck.
"I'm sorry!!" I cried. "I'm soo s-sorry," I bit my lip. He pulled me back and smiled. "There's no need to apologize, little angel. All of us will be watching over you...Sariel, Tarmiel, Gloxinia, Drole, and that Ace boy of yours," he smiled.
"Please...tell them...that I love them....I never got to tell any of them that, one last time..." I mumbled.
Ludociel wiped the tears away from my cheek and smiled one last time. "I have no need to tell them....
"- because they already know...."
That was the last thing Ludociel said before his body faded unto a soothing blue light and faded into the sky.
"No one will forget your sacrifice, Ludociel," Elizabeth smiled.
I slowly pushed myself off the ground and wiped my tears.
"They already know huh?" I scoffed and laughed. "That's so cheesy-"
.........

My sister and I literally just fried our brains because we forgot a word or something so we called like four people just to find out that it was 'satisfying' 😅><
