Chapter 3

Y/N P.O.V

I held my hands out in front of me, concentrating on my magic. My eyebrows furrowed. "Aghhhh!!" I groaned loudly. "I can't seem to get it," I pouted, puffing out my cheeks. His footsteps echoed as Zeldris walked over to me.

"Your mind is clouded. Your mind has to be clear. Right now, you're focused on getting your magic to work. You need to calm yourself. What makes you happy? Think about that," came Zeldris's words of advice.

I smirked. There was an opportunity. An opportunity to make him flustered!! Zeldris has always been very cold. I've never seen him flustered before.....

I turned around to face him, purposely putting my hands behind my back. I floated a small inch above the ground, just enough to look down at Zeldris.

"What makes me happy?" I mumbled, thinking intensely. "I know!" I gasped. "You make me happy, Zeldris," I smiled sweetly. His dark eyes widened slightly. "Are we sure that you're not related to Meliodas?" Zeldris chuckled softly.

I gasped playfully. "Me?! Are you suggesting that I'm a pervert? I'm a goddess for goodness sake!" I laughed. I gasped, putting a hand over my heart. "That blummin' perverted demon is rubbing off on me-" I mumbled.

A small chuckle left him. I turned to face a single tree, holding my hands out in front of me once again. I closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath. Suddenly, a burst of light erupted from my hands in the shape of a spear. The clash of wood echoed.

I opened my eyes slowly. My [E/C] eyes widened, a big smile creeping into my face. It hit it! "I did it!" I exclaimed in shock. My eyes were practically shining.

Zeldris clapped before walking over. "That's enough for today. You were finally able to control your power. I'm proud," he mumbled the last sentence. I didn't say anything aloud, but I heard him, a small hint of pink dusting my cheeks.

I opened my mouth to speak when a strong magical presence invaded our senses. I looked up towards the sky, eyes wide. "That's Ludociel's magical signature...." I muttered in shock. I turned to Zeldris and sighed softly. "I suppose you should go. Ludociel wouldn't be happy if he saw us together,"

Zeldris simply nodded. "That would be for the best. I'll see you again soon, [Y/N]," his wings of darkness formed and he flew off. It felt lonely without him with me. I didn't want him to leave.....but it was for the best...

If the Demon King heard about this, Zeldris may face the same fate as Meliodas....

...A traitor...

"[Y/N]? What are you doing out here?" I looked behind me, catching sight of Ludociel landing on the ground. "Umm!!" I struggled to find a way to explain. "I-I was t-training! Yeah!- I...uh- was just trying to gain better control of my magic,"

"I see....." his eyebrow raised. He didn't believe me.....did he? I was afraid of that...

The arch-angel looked around the area, as if he was looking for something- no- someone...

"Did you run into any trouble out here? It's not very safe in the forest. Demons lurk around every corner," his last sentence was laced with vemon. I shook my head. "Not at all. What are you implying? I didn't encounter any demons out here. I've made sure to mask my presence!" I cheered.

Ludociel glanced around before letting out a sigh. "I sense the faint prescence of a demon. However, it's a remnant. That vile creature is not currently here. I shall escort you back to the base. Come, young goddess," Ludociel held out his hand while his wings kept him off the ground. I bit my lip.

I couldn't seem suspicious, so I faked my usual smile. A shiver abruptly went down my spine. It felt as if someone was watching me, practically burning their eyes into my soul.

I gracefully floated to take Ludociel's hand, hesitantly. His hand gripped my own tightly, before he flew off, dragging me along. I glanced back at the small field to see a flash of black hair. Zeldris....you dummy....

Ludociel brought me near the base and let go of my hand. "Go to Elizabeth. I have to make an appearance," he flew down, next to a goddess with flowing pink hair.

I flew down next to the group. Meliodas gave me a weird look to which I waved nervously. I turned to look at Gloxinia and Drale looking at me with wide eyes. "[Y/N]? What are you doing here?" Gloxinia mumblef in utter shock. "What-" I was cut off by Nerobasta.

"To think that it took all four of you to take down one of the ten commandments. It's truly pathetic," The pink haired goddess spoke. I glared at her. If only looks could kill....

"Come now, Nerobasta. That's enough," The leader of the four arch- angels finally made his appearance. The goddess beside him turned to shout at all the humans. "On your kness humans! You are in the presence of the leader of the four arch-angels! Sir Ludociel!"

"I am pleased that you were able to save our friends whom were wounded in battle," Ludociel spoke. "That being said, I would like to welcome you all here," many of the humans stood in disbelief, murming to eachother.

"Now, which all of you have been hoping for, the end of the Holy War is upon us....."

Elizabeth smiled brightly. "That's amazing! Have we finally called a truce with the demon race?" Elizabeth was always one that desired peace and no violence. However, Ludociel was different.

"The time has finally come for us to eradicate the demon race...."

My eyes widened. I glanced back at Elizabeth. I could see it on her face, she was upset. Elizabeth was determined to make them see another way. "Wait-" I called out to her just before she left. "I'm coming with you!"

"Eradicate the demon race? That's insane!" Elizabeth cried. I nodded. "I agree! There has to be something else we can do-"

"Lady Elizabeth! Lady [Y/N]! I remind you that we are in a holy war-" Ludociel spoke. "I'm afraid that you're out if line Nerobasta. I've been planning this since the very beginning,"

I interrupted once again. "You said it yourself. You said that the peace all the races have been longing for is upon us!" Elizabeth added. "I don't get it. How could you say such a thing in front of Meliodas?!"

"Ladies, you must open your eyes and see the truth," Ludociel leaned closer to our faces. His smirk...it was truly terrifying....something like that only belonged to a true demon...

"The demon race is no better than a pile of worthless filth. Who would ever recognize them as life forms equal to us?" I bit my lip to contain my anger. How dare he say such a thing?!

"That friend of yours, Meliodas, will be the one to take the Demon King's throne," he took Elizabeth's chin and raised it. His smirk never faltered. "Get your dirty hands off of her!" I yelled. Elizabeth smacked his hand away and flew out of the base. I smiled softly. Good job, Elizabeth. Stand your ground

"How dare you speak to Lord Ludociel in such a way! You are the only filthy one here!" Nerobasta shouted back at me. "Nerbasta, that is enough. You may leave. Do not go after Elizabeth. She can't do anything about the outcome, anyways," Nerobasta nodded her head and respected his wish, her heels clacking behind her as she walked away.

"I admire your courage Lady [Y/N]...but I must ask...why is it that you are so defensive of the demon race? Lady Elizabeth, speaks for herself. But you've never mentioned anything about this before..." he studied me for anything he could use against me. A stutter, a look of concern in my eyes, my gaze faltering, my mind being clouded...he could use anything against me.

"I simply do not believe in your opinion. I have never met a demon besides Meliodas. Meliodas is enough proof that not all demons are bad! So what right do we have to eradicate their whole race!?' I shouted back at him. The demon race didn't deserve this. Zeldris didn't deserve this.

Ludociel laughed. "Do you really belive that there is a sense of good in those demons? Your trust in them will only betray you in the end! That demon friend of yours from earlier, he will betray you,"

My eyes widened. "B-but how did you--" I was at a loss for words. He knew about Zeldris....he knew about Zeldris...he knew about Zeldris!

"It's simple. You've always had remnants of a demons power on you. It was the same energy every day and the same one I felt when I encountered you earlier. You didn't hide it very well," he explained simply. His smirk only grew.

"Wipe that stupid smirk off your face!" I flew up and slapped him straight across the face. "You know nothing about the demon race! They are the same as us. They have human emotions and feelings too! They feel the intense grief of loosing a loved one just as we do! We may be light and dark, but we can't let that define our opinions on one another!" I shouted, tears threatening to spill from my eyes.

I flew towards the entrance, to glance back at Ludociel's shocked expression. "You say that demons are worthleas filth. Well, I think that the only worthless filth here, is you," I immediately flew out, the tears falling from my eyes.

I flew back towards the hut Sariel and I lived in. A storm flew in. I stopped abruptly. "A strong magic power is heading this way...." I muttered. I looked towards the sky. My eyes widened. "The demon race...."

Suddenly, their advance halted. A small figure of white floated in front of them. "[Y/N]!" A voice called out. I looked below me to see Meliodas, Gloxinia, and Drale. I flew down to his height. "Meliodas! What's going on? What's Elizabeth doing?!" I asked.

"I'm not quite sure, but I-" suddenly, Ludociel's voice echoed throughout the forest. The ground started to rumble. A massive ark arose from the rubble. "Ludociel! You little-" Meliodas immediately started to run in that direction.

"No!" I shouted in desperation. One by one the demons were killed by the ark. "Ludociel! You monstor!" I cried out. My hands were balled into fists. I grit my teeth. "[Y/N]-" Gloxinia put his hand on my shoulder. I turned to look at him, my anger subsiding for a split second.

"I'll kill that arch-angel for what he's done!"
