Chapter 29

Y/N P.O.V

It was a long and silent journey. We had conversations every now and then, but we had to stay focused.

Soon, ruins began to form in our line of sight. "Celestial ruins...." I muttered to no one in particular. "Look! It's Elizabeth!" King exclaimed.

"So this is what happens when the Commandments go berserk," Derieri commented.

"Elizabeth...is MINE!!" Estarossa growled.

A battle commenced. Suddenly, Estarossa began to yell as of he was in pain.

All of a sudden, a sharp pain went through my head.

"Who...is Estarossa?" I muttered. My head pounded harshly. It hurts.....

Suddenly, with a gasp, all of the dots connected.

"Mael!" I gasped, covering my mouth in shock. "Estarossa....never existed?" I mumbled, as if trying to convince myself.

"No way..." Sariel muttered.

"Are you...really?" Tarmiel spoke in shock again.

"Was I having a nightmare?" Mael muttered, holding his head in pain. Memories flashed through his mind of all his times with the other goddesses. I, myself, didn't speak to Mael very much.

Mael collapsed to the floor in pain, tears cascading down his face.

"I-I can still feel it....the feeling of killing all of my brethren, the people I burned alive! Who would do such a thing?!" Mael cried out.

"I did," I looked to the side and saw none other than Gowther. "Go ahead, break me," he walked forward slowly.

"Gowther! Don't be an idiot! This is reckless!" I cried out. "This is what I want," Gowther replied. My eyes widened. "You dummy!" Before I knew it, tears welled up in my eyes.

Mael lunged towards Gowther and began punching him, yelling all the things Gowther had done to him. He then punched him so hard, that Gowther was flung to the other half of the island.

"Gowther, no!" King cried, following. Mael stomped onto Gowther harshly. "I have one question: why? Why me, out of everyone?"

Gowther answered, but his answer didn't satisfy Mael. In fact, it angered him further, despite it being the truth. He stomped on the heart pendant we had given to Gowther.

When he realized that Gowther was a doll, he was furious. I glanced over at King and he appeared to feel the same as me. King looked furious. With no misery, he unleashed Gaurdian at Mael.

"Please King....stop it," Gowther looked up at King sadly. "I don't want to involve you in this," he pleaded. I flew over and crouched next to Gowther.

I placed my hands on his shoulders firmly. "You're our friend Gowther. I'll make it my buisness," I smiled. King added evidence to my answer.

"Law Four of the Seven Laws of the Seven Deadly Sins. "If a friend is in crisis, we must do everything we can to help," King stated.

"Are you a friend of Gowthers? Perfect," Mael smirked. "If your body can not feel pain, I shall cause you mental suffering," he added. "And even if it isn't real, I do hope you possess a heart,"

"Stop!" Gowther cried out as Mael attempted to strike King; sending an Arrow of Salvation into his shoulder. "King!" I called out, running to his side. I put my arms out in front of the wound to heal him, but nothing came.

My healing powers- aren't working?!

Mael explained his ability, Arrow of Salvation. It guides Demons to their death without any pain, but if it hits anyone that's not a demon, they feel excruciating pain.

Gowther turned around, bearing his body to take any hit. "Break me instead! King did nothing wrong!" Gowther cried.

I shook my head. "No!" I ran in front of Gowther, hugging him tightly. "I won't let you hurt Gowther!" The tears fell down my face.

I won't loose anyone else-!

"Yes, that's the reaction I wanted," Mael smirked. "Destroying a doll wouldn't come close to real revenge," Mael spoke again.

"Spirit Spear: 1st configuration: Chastifoul!" King's Chastifoul appeared behind Mael. "Spear of Judgement!" The spirit spear came crashing down into the Earth, but Mael caught it.

"Do not underestimate the Fairy King!" King shouted, giving all his power to help Gowther.

"Mael! Come back to your senses!" I cried out, my voice breaking.

"Stop this! This will all be over if I die. Please, I'm begging you! I don't want to loose anyone precious to me again!" Gowther continued to shout his desperate pleas.

"You idiot!" I flew forward and formed a spear from behind Mael, sending it into his abdomen. "We're fighting because we don't want to loose you, Gowther!" I cried, flying forward and yanking the spear out of Mael, causing blood to stain his clothing.

"You don't want to loose us and we don't want to loose you!" I cried, allowing my tears to fall. Gowther looked up at me, his eyes widening. "You're our friend Gowther!"

King hit Mael with his Guardian, sending Mael flying. "Gowther, if you really knew the grief of loosing someone special to you then you wouldn't be so willing to die," King explained sorrowfully.

"You got that, Gowther?" I smiled, wrapping my arms around him tightly. "We won't let you die. We'll all survive this and go celebrate together, with Meliodas in tow!" I exclaimed.

"And we'll all drink booze like there's no tommrow!" I laughed. Gowther wiped his eyes and smiled. "Yeah!" Gowther smiled happily, despite the tears falling down his face.

"This is getting fun...now how about all three of you come at me at once," Mael was interrupted by a new voice.

"How about the five of us?" Sariel and Tarmiel had entered the scene. "Hello, Sariel and Tarmiel," Mael greeted. "It's wonderful to see you again Mael, if only you weren't in such a sorry state," Sariel started.

"Why do you harbor such hostility towards me? Why are you protecting the criminal who took everything from me?" Mael asked. "Isn't it the mission of the Four Archangels to exterminate the impure Demon Clan?"

"I-I understand how you feel, but- think about this. We can slowly regain the time lost to us," Tarmiel tried to reason with him. "You understand how I feel?" Mael shook as he growled.

"That all I lost was some time? There's NO WAY you'd understand that, NOT in a million years!" Mael shouted. "You aren't think straight, Mael! You need to release the Commandment you absorbed!" Sariel tried once again.

"I cannot. After loosing my Grace, the Commandment is my only hope. If you intend to take away that hope, then I will grant you this: Despair," Mael gathered his power above him.

Mael engaged in combat with the five of us. I flew up, leaving Gowther to fight.

Suddenly, I heard a voice in my head.

King and I distracted Mael and gave Sariel and Tarmiel the opportunity to pin Mael. Derieri moved in and used Combo Star.

Gowther looked through Mael's mind to find a way to remove the Commandment. Tarmiel began to cry. Right as Gowther saw it, Tarmiel's power stopped and Derieri was impaled, her Commandment stolen.

"Mael! Stop it!" I cried.

"Mael! There's no going back from this!" Sariel cried out.

"Mael! Please reconsider!" Tarmiel shouted through his tears.

Despite all of our cries, Mael still took in the Commandment. A blinding light surronded Mael, blowing away Sariel and Tarmiel, whom were closest.

I didn't have to see to know that Derieri was dead. I didn't even try to stop the tears. Although, I knew that I had no time to cry. I wiped my tears away.

My eyes widened once I remembered. "Sariel!" I flew towards him to see Tarmiel cradling him in his arms.

"I'm sorry, I tried," Tarmiel cried. "I just- couldn't do it," He sighed. "A mammoth incarnation of power is being born in this twisted light. He's no longer....the Mael we once knew," Sariel coughed.

I shook my head, afraid of the worst. "Don't talk like that!" My tears fell once again.

What if he dies....I can't loose him....I can't. I can't. I can't.

I promised to protect everyone with my life!

"Sariel, I love you," I hugged him tightly. "You could've fought with Mael, but you fought with the Seven Deadly Sins instead," I cried, my tears falling onto his cheek..

"You've done this before as well," I laughed.

.......

Ludociel seemed to be getting agrivated. "Sariel! Tarmiel! Get over here! We're destroying the Ten Commandments and Meliodas!" The two angels looked at each other and gave a nod. They flew to the sides of Ludociel to do something he never expected.

They gave their own light to me and Elizabeth's. Tears welled up in my eyes, a smile on my face. "Thank you," I muttered.

"What are you doing?! Ludociel seemed upset. My brother smirked. "Well, isn't it obvious?" Tarmiel finished their explanation. "We have chosen to ignore your orders and act of our own free will,"

"Let 'em have it!"

.........

Looking up, I saw the giant ball of light. It resembled a cocoon.

"I'm so upset....I couldn't save Mael or protect Lady Elizabeth. I don't deserve to be one of the Four Archangels," Sariel laughed at himself, tears welling up in his eyes. "Forgive me, Supreme Deity,"

"Sariel! Stop talking like that, okay?! We'll find a way to save Mael and then we'll talk and catch up!" I blinked, allowing my tears to fall even faster.

Suddenly, dark beams rained down from the cocoon. "Please, stop Mael!" Tarmiel cried out. Suddenly, one of the beams came closer to us.

The world seemed still, as I heard Sariel gasp. "Live Y/N! I love you!" Before I could register what happened, I felt myself being carried away by the wind.

"You idiot! Put me down! You have to live too!" I shook my head, holding out my hand, desperately trying to grab hold of them.

It all went quiet as the beam hit.

"SARIEL!" I screamed. Before I knew it, the bridge broke and the dust cleared. The wind around me ceased in an instant.

My eyes widened. There was no Sariel. There was no Tarmiel. They were gone. They were.....

...Dead...

"BROTHER!" I shouted once again. Suddenly, I felt someone wrap around my arm and pull me back to land. I looked behind me to see Elizabeth, with tears in her eyes.

"Y/N....," She shook her head. My eyes widened and fell to my knees. I laughed softly, my tears falling onto the ground.

"I guess that I failed again," I gripped the dirt harshly. I looked up at Mael with a scowl. "Mael..."

I felt my demon markings burn up. I gasped once I realised what was happening.

Calm down!! You need to calm down!

I promised Zeldris! I promised him!

All of a sudden, things went black and I felt my eyes closing slowly as I fell to the ground.

........

Why do I do this to myself?!?! I'm freaking cryingg!!!!

Mah babies😭😭😭😭😭
