I continued to run East making my way to the giant trees surrounded by a thick jungle. With the speed I'm going I should be there in a few minutes, but at most an hour to get to the center of the jungle. While running I deactivated Gorilla armor not wanting the chimps to mistake me for a human instead of an ape. My footsteps sounded like thunder striking the ground each time my feet landed. Wystan was holding on to the fur on my neck as to not fall off. If I can ally with the chimps they might be able to tell me of a nice place for me to build my troop.

Almost there just one more minute and I'll enter the thick jungle. I wonder if the chimps will be able to understand me, we're both apes so possibly? Hopefully they don't attack me on sight we might be relatives but they're more aggressive than gorillas. As I entered the jungle about 10 screams came from deeper within the jungle. If I remember correctly those are distress calls from chimpanzees whenever they encounter danger. If I can help them they may be willing to be my friends.

With that I went charging deeper into the jungle to the source of the yells. I wonder what's got them so spooked from my dream they seemed numerous and had weapons. Well whatever it is must be powerful to take on several weapon wielding chimpanzees. I finally made it to the source of the noise and what I saw surprised me.

Firstly this area was beautiful and I wouldn't mind living here. And secondly there in the center of this beauty was several chimps trying to fight off a bear. I noticed several dead carcasses of deer around so I guess it was attracted to the smell.

The chimpanzees seem to be doing well for now but that thing will get angry very soon. I went behind a nearby tree and I began to watch the fight. The bear swiped at two chimps cutting deep and breaking their spears. But finally what surprised me the most was the one trying to take down the big bear.

She seemed to be more like a human than a ape. She was in front of the bear with a spear in hand and only slight fear of the giant predator was visible in her eyes. The bear stood up and roared loudly causing the chimps to either fall or retreat. But the female remained standing and let out her own battle cry, the bear seemed to take this as a challenge as it focused all of its attention on her.

She won't last that long against this opponent especially if it uses its rage. At this point all the remaining chimps backed off and climbed the trees. I guess they dont want to test their luck against a 500lb bear. The bear charged at the female but she rolled out the way before using her spear to stab into its side. The wound wasn't that deep so that bear seems to have tough skin. The bear quickly turned around and swiped its huge paw at the female, she tried to jump away but the paw hit her legs launching her a few feet away. She had 5 cuts on her legs and they were deep.

I guess that the bears attack did more damage than I thought as she tried to get up only to fall and begin to breathe heavy. The bear seeing this stood on its hind legs and roared signaling its victory. It then began to walk over to his challenger intending to finish her off. I should probably help the chimps now. Before the bear got any closer to the female I stood up from my hiding spot and loudly roared, successfully getting not only the bear's attention but also the chimps.

I knuckled walked out into the open before beating my chest at the bear challenging it to combat. It seemed to accept the challenge as it roared before running at me. I charged as well but before I got to close I put my fists together and jumped. This allowed me to slam my fists into its head with great force successfully stunning it. I could just kill it with my katana but where's the fun in that.

The bear was more resistant than I thought as it got up quickly and slashed at my exposed chest. Its claws weren't able to cut deep as I was a silverback and my defense was enhanced greatly. But it still made me mad that it made me bleed, so I returned the gesture and grabbed a nearby rock before jamming it deep into its left eye. It thrashed around roaring in pain before it activated its rage ability. Now its slightly dangerous to me but that doesn't mean it'll win this battle.

In a blind rage it began to swipe and bite at me but each time I dodged making the bear tired quickly. I took this chance to activate Primate strength before socking it across the snout breaking its jaw. This bear wasn't as big or strong as the first bear that mauled me. It seemed it wasn't going to lay down and die as it got up and roared at me. I didn't like it roaring in my face so I put the bear in a headlock before grabbing its tounge and ripping it out, finally silencing its roars. Even with its tounge ripped out it still tried to resist, so to finish it off I asked Wystan to make some stone spikes come out the ground.

I then lifted the bear above my head easily with Primate strength before tossing it onto the spikes.

I've never really used that skill except when I fought that first bear. When I looked back to the skewered bear the chimps were all around it mesmerized. The female was helped up by two other chimps before being carried toward the bear. When I took a step forward they all jumped and turned to me scared, some even shakily raised their spears.

Devan: (What are you doing?)

They for some reason slightly calmed down but were still ready to fight me, the female then spoke to me.

???: (Who are you?)

Devan: (I'm Devan, who are you?)

Alyssa: (My name is Alyssa. Where is the family you lead?)

When she finished that sentence everyone else seemed to get nervous again. I guess they dont want to war with my troop if I'm the leader.

Devan: (I have no family.)

All the chimps were shocked by what i said but the most shocked was Alyssa.

Alyssa: (How do you not lead a family?! You're clearly capable of defending them and not that bad to look at...)

She got quiet at the end and had a small faint blush on her face as she looked at my arms. I didn't even know apes could blush but I guess we learn something new every day.

Devan: (Can you take me to your leader please?)

This snapped her out of her staring as she quickly nodded before trying to stand up only to fall down again. I saw that the wounds on her legs began to slightly bleed. So as for her not to worsen her injuries I stood up and lifted her up bridal style making sure not to touch her wounds. She began to blush again but this time it was more noticeable. With one hand holding her close I used my free hand to pick up the carcass of the bear. They were all surprised that I could lift a bear with one hand, but I'm pretty sure I can swing myself with one hand. I began to follow the chimps back to their nesting grounds to meet their leader as some carried the carcasses of the deers. After a few minutes I heard a waterfall and soon I saw it along with their home.

They made this themselves, but how did they learn to do all this? Before I could get anywhere near the entrance the chimps guiding me told me to stop. I did but when I was about to question why they gave me an answer.

Chimp: (Our leader will come out to meet you, just wait here.)

I didn't think I would be surprised more today but boy was I wrong. Because their leader was none other than Caesar himself from planet of the apes.

As a child I loved anything that had to do with apes so I watched the entire planet of the apes trilogy, but I didn't get to finish the classic planet of the apes. However before I could do anything he growled at me. At first I was confused until I remembered I was carrying Alyssa. I gently placed her down before dropping the bear carcass and backing up. He could kill me right now because of what I did, but all he did was glare at me before letting out a loud grunt.

Several chimps with bows and arrows appeared and aimed at me.

Caesar: (Who are you silverback?)

When I answered I made sure to avoid eye contact but give quick glances once in a while.

Devan: (I'm Devan, who are you?)

Caesar: (I am Caesar the leader of this family, thank you for saving my family from that bear, Devan.)

Devan: (I heard their cries of help and as a silverback I couldn't ignore a fellow apes call.)

Caesar: (And for that you're welcome to join my family.)

When he said that the archers put their arrows back while the chimps on the ground relaxed immediately.

Devan: (That's kind of you Caesar but I want to start my own family.)

Caesar: (Its your choice but remember you'll be considered an ally to me.)

Cool I now have a awesome friend in a very high place.

Caesar: (C'mon dine with me and my family.)

And I get to have dinner with him and the rest of the royal ape family?! As I was about to head on in I remembered Alyssa was still on the ground. I looked up to Caesar silently asking permission to carry her. He nodded before gesturing to a little hut within the walls with a few chimps outside with makeshift masks. They're more advanced than I thought, regardless I gently picked Alyssa back up and carried her over to the hut.

Alyssa: (T-Thank you, Devan.)

Devan: (Your welcome I hope you get better, Alyssa. But I know you will because I've seen a fighting spirit in those beautiful eyes of yours.)

She slightly blushed at this and she had a small smile. The doctor chimps took her from my arms and into the hut before thanking me. I was going to go pick up the bear carcass but two gorillas were already dragging it over to what I think is a butchering station. They seemed to slightly struggle pushing the bear over to the station but it's not my problem anymore.

Well I hope Alyssa gets better I kind of liked her, but I'll probably never see her again. I made my way over to Caesar who was patiently waiting with his guards. When he saw me he smiled before walking over to me but his guards followed him.

Caesar: (You can all relax and go spend time with your families.)

The guards looked at each other before one of them spoke up with concern.

Gaurd: (But Caesar we are your guards what if you were attacked who will protect you?)

Caesar seemed to slightly chuckle at him before gesturing over to me.

Caesar: (I'll be with a giant silverback, I'm pretty sure that's as safe as an ape can be. Besides look at the size of him who will attack this giant of an ape?)

The guards went quiet seeing as silverbacks are made to protect. They nodded before walking off into their village. Caesar turned to me and gestured over to a giant tree with an awesome tree house on top with stairs leading into it. While we were walking I noticed how big their community is. There were probably hundreds of chimps with the occasional silverback that eyed me weirdly. They even had what looked like a school with an orangutan teaching some children.

As we were walking over to his home several chimps looked at me with curiosity and slight fear. Some children got close and slowly reached their hands out to me, I stopped and also reached my hand out to theirs. When our hands touched the children relaxed and began to hoot excitedly before climbing all over me.

One of them grabbed Wystan before tossing him to each other and catching him. Wystan was screaming for them to leave him alone, but they couldn't understand him.

Wystan: Put me down, I'm getting sick!

Wait he can get sick? That doesn't matter I have to safe Wystan before he spews out rocks. As another child was about to catch him I reached out and grabbed him before placing him on my head. The children were saddened by this, but to make them feel better I gently pounded my chest at them as an invitation to play. They all pounded their chests at me and began to climb all over me again. Some were hanging from my arms while the rest hugged my fur before they began to slowly fall asleep.

Devan: (Caesar what do I do? I dont want to disrupt their sleep but could you get them off me please?)

He slightly laughed at me before he called over some female chimps who I assumed were the children's mothers. They too giggled at me before each of them took their sleeping children, but not before sending me glances with eyes filled with fondness.

Wystan: Thank you master, that was the worst battle I've ever had.

Devan: I'm glad your safe now.

Caesar: (You can speak the human's language?)

I honestly forgot Caesar was still standing there. Hopefully he doesn't think I'm sort of spy because I can speak english.

Devan: (Yes I learned from some close friends, were those your children?)

We continued to walk up to the stairs leading into his home. There were several chimps with weapons stationed at the bottom and top of the stairs. They bowed at Caesar but when they saw me they shakily pointed their weapons at me, but what was different this time was that they kept eye contact with me. I began to slowly get annoyed as I slightly opened my mouth showing them my razor sharp canines.

Caesar: (You might want to let him pass, not even the entire troop can save you from this silverbacks rage.)

They quickly backed up lowering their weapons and broke eye contact allowing me to pass. But before I could continue they held out their hands, did they want a handshake? I didn't know what to do so Iooked to Caesar for instruction. He gestured to touch their hands to forgive them, I gently touched their hands as they got back into their original positions. Caesar began to lead me once again as he continued our conversation.

Caesar: (No those weren't my kids. I have two sons and one daughter, Milo is the youngest Blue eyes is the oldest and my second oldest is-)

???: (Father!)

He was cut off by a chimp hugging him as we entered his home. The chimp looked up at me and immediately raised a stone knife. Caesar was about to intervene but I beat him to it as I smacked the knife out of his hand. The amount of force launched the knife into the wall and seemed to have hurt his wrist.

Caesar: (Blue eyes don't embarrass me in front of my guests apologize immediately!)

At his father's words Blue eyes turned to me and crouched down before he held his hand out to me and let out a small squeak. I gently touched his palm before checking his wrist to make sure it wasn't broken. It wasn't broken just slightly bruised, Caesar and Blue eyes seemed surprised by my gesture.

Caesar: (Blue eyes go get your mother and brother, your sister will join us in a moment for lunch.)

He nodded before going through a doorway deeper into the house. Caesar gestured over to a bigger doorway where I believe is their dining room. I walked in with Caesar behind me and there were several nests built in a circle around a fire pit. I sat on one of the nests while Caesar sat on the one across from me.

Caesar: (My family will be here shortly but for now let's get to know each other.)

Devan: (Alright, well Caesar how did you become the leader of your troop?)

Caesar: (I might not be the strongest but I am the smartest. I led my family through battles and dark times. My accomplishments caused my troop to choose me as their leader. But what about your family?)

Devan: (I dont have a family.)

His eyes widened before he regained his composure.

Caesar: (That's... unexpected, I thought you would be leading a troop by now.)

Devan: (I just haven't found any ape to join me.)

He looked down and appeared to be in thought before he seemed to have come up with an idea. But before he could tell me his thoughts two chimps and a infant came into the room.

???: (Hello honey, oh who's our guest?)

Caesar: (Hello sweetie, this is my new ally Devan.)

Cornelia: (It's a pleasure to meet you Devan I'm Cornelia, Caesar's wife. And this is Milo our youngest son and Blue eyes our oldest son. Our daughter is currently out hunting and I dont know when she'll be back.)

Milo ran over to Caesar before he spotted me and begin to slowly approach me. He lifted up one of my fingers and began to inspect it before climbing up onto my stomach. While Milo was inspecting me Blue eyes avoided eye contact with me before sitting next to the right of his father. Cornelia sat to the left of Caesar before intently watching Milo making sure he was alright. Speaking of Milo he was hugging my neck before he snuggled deeper into my fur and begin to fall asleep.

I think my fur has sleep inducing properties if whoever hugs me for too long falls asleep. To make sure he didn't fall I placed my giant hand on his back and cradled him close to my chest. Caesar, Cornelia, and Blue eyes were all watching me with fondness in their eyes. I got up and walked over to Cornelia and carefully gave her back Milo. As I was making my way back to my seat Caesar sent me a nod of approval. When I got back to my seat Alyssa came limping into the room with leaf bandages around her legs. When she saw me she gasped before composing herself and moving to sit next to Cornelia.

Cornelia: (Devan this is our daughter Alyssa and sh- sweetie what happened to your legs?!)

Oh she's their daughter I guess that bear really did some damage to her, but it's a bear I don't think many creatures are able to fist fight a bear.

Alyssa: (While we went hunting a bear came, I think it was attracted to the smell of the dead deer. I tried to fight it but it was much stronger than me, it would've finished me off if Devan here hadn't come and manhandled the giant creature.)

That thing wasn't as big as the first one I fought it might've been on the verge of becoming an adult. Not a second later i finished that thought Cornelia got up made her way over to me before she hugged me, careful not to hurt the sleeping baby.

Cornelia: (Thank you, thank you! If you hadn't arrived our daughter and the chimps with her would've been slaughtered.)

I placed an arm around her making sure not to squish the child in her arms.

Devan: (It was nothing your highness any silverback would've helped.)

Cornelia: (Oh don't be so modest Devan. You and your family deserve a reward, speaking of which where is your family I would like to meet your wives and children.)

Caesar: (He doesn't have a family, dear.)

Just like Caesar she was shocked before composing herself.

Cornelia: (How can that be?! He has the means to protect his family, he also seems to know how to handle infants.)

Devan: (I just haven't found anyone your highness.)

From the corner of my eye I could see Alyssa perk up at this.

Caesar: (I might have a solution for that, Devan.)

Caesar got up and walked over to me while Cornelia went back to her seat.

Caesar: (If you want I can gather the females of my troop and I'll let you choose anybody you want.)

Alyssa seemed to clench her fist at her fathers words. Her mother seemed to have notice as she whispered to her.

Devan: (Will they be willing to go with me?)

Caesar: (I'm pretty sure they will when they get a good look at you and what you can do.)

Alyssa: (Father, I would like to go with Devan as his wife!)

Her father was shocked but it looked like he expected this as he got over his shock quick.

Caesar: (Why, Alyssa?)

Alyssa: (I know I only met him today, but in that short amount of time I've seen how kind hearted he's been. From what mother and the members of our troop has told me on the way here, I want to be his wife and join his troop.)

Caesar appeared to be in deep thought, as Cornelia seemed excited, Blue eyes was eating the food that arrived while we were talking, while Alyssa was anxiously waiting for her father's answer.

Caesar: (Very well it's your choice who you wish to marry. But he'll need to do something first.)

Devan: (Do I have to fight you?)

He laughed as his wife chuckled.

Caesar: (We both know that won't be a fight, you will win immediately. No, what I want you to do is tell me a saying you wish to be known between our two families.)

Alert:
Warning this will be the saying of your troop. It will be said in battle as a war cry inspiring all who hear it!

Hmm... I wonder if Caesar said this yet.

Devan: ('Apes Together Strong')

Caesar: (Perfect, and if you want I'll agree to let my daughter be your wife if you choose her.)

Alyssa looked at me with hope and love in her eyes wanting me to choose her.

Devan: (I accept.)

Alyssa didn't wait for her father to answer me as she jumped from her seat into my arms as I caught her. She must have some really strong legs if she could do that in a second. She put her hands on my cheeks as I held her waist to make sure she doesn't fall, and she gave me a quick kiss before hugging me.
