Days passed before O'Nari stirred awake. Her mind foggy from dreams of when she was little. The days her parents were still alive and when she first met the man she calls her brother.

She was a happy child then....but she remembered when they did die. She remembered the pain she was in knowing that the people she loved the most left her.

At first she didn't understand what happened. She blamed herself, thinking they left because she was a bad kid. She begged her grandfather to let her apologize to them. Tell them she would be a good girl if they just came for her.

For some time she was a quiet and timid child. But that slowly melted away when she learned that sometimes accidents happen.

O'Nari learned to make the most out of life at a young age. She never lived with regrets and brought a smile to everyone around.

She was like a little angel.

She stretched her tried body and let out a groan. Leaves and small furry animals fell off of her body as she stirred. She groggily opened her eyes to see a plethora of creatures she didn't recognize. They looked harmless enough as they stared at her with curiosity.

'Good morning sleepy head. Glad you decided to rejoin the living once more.' Myron teasingly spoke as she wiped the sleep out of her eyes with her wing. Crust was in her eyes while the feathers on her head were a mess. He could even see some drool drying in her beak. Myron could only imagine what she would like if she was human.

"How long was I out for?" She asked tiredly as she shook and fluffed out her feathers. She was surprised to notice how clean she was. She knew she ended that fight tattered and battered.

Her eyes fluttered to the small monsters, wondering if they cleaned her up. It was possible considering she didn't have an ability to do that herself while asleep. It warmed her heart if they did.

Cute.

'About a week. That monster was wayyyyy above your level so it took longer for your mana to absorb him. On the bright side, you unlocked so many skills! Wanna see?!' Myron explained excitedly making her chuckle.

He also explained that the creatures here were in hiding because of the crab but when she killed it they treated her in thanks. Each using their unique abilities to help.

That warmed the otherworlders heart immensely. She always had a soft spot for monsters, especially the ones with intelligence. They were always treated so unjustly in the mangas and anime's.

Anyways, O'Nari took a few moment's to analyze the skills and level ups she received. One of it being the impenetrable body skill. She figured that the boss would give her something like that considering that was its main advantage. It was a win though as her defense is higher.

"Hey Myron, can I only gain attributes from eating or fighting monsters?" She asked curiously. From her understanding, almost anything with magicules should be able to be absorbed. The effects may vary though.

'Nope! Although it's more common for monsters to give you other abilities, you can also gain them from plants and repetition. In some cases, magic items are able to be absorbed to learn magic spells along with gems. Although gems aren't that powerful.' Myron explained the concept of gaining abilities. In normal situations, humans have a harder time gaining skills like this as they are not usually born with magicules in their body. Same for most monsters. But the skills she was blessed with, it is easy for her to learn the basics but it would take some time to upgrade them.

O'Nari nodded in understatement. She plucked a unique looking flower from the ground. It was soaked in magicules so she assumed it was used in potions. The only question was what kind.

Without hesitation, she threw it in her mouth and swallowed it. Seconds later she got a notification.

'Congratulations, you have unlocked health restore level 1.' Myron's cheery voice announced making the girl raise her eyebrows mentally. What a lucky woman she was.

"Okay, I've decided! I'm going to take some time in this cave to level up. Onii-Chan seems to still be here too so I don't have to worry about looking for him in the outside world. But I have no idea what I'm going to get myself into out there. I have to get strong enough that he won't ever have to worry about me again." O'Nari said resolutely.

This was a world she always dreamed of experiencing and now that she had the chance.....she needed to be prepared. She was an animal with intelligence, that's already enough to consider her a monster. And if she knew anything, Monsters have it tuff.

She didn't want to cause more problems for her brother.

So with that, O'Nari started her training journey with the help of Myron.

It's been three long months for the woman.

She casually walked through the sealed caved having finished her fight with the boss of that level. She picked her teeth with its bone. Myron's voice letting her know she finally leveled up her lightening magic. A content sigh escaping her mouth.

"I always wondered what Pikachu would taste like. Pretty gamey." O'Nari smacked her lips/beak to taste the lingering flavor in her mouth. It wasn't as good as she was expecting but it wasn't terrible.

'You've cleared this floor. Where to next?' Myron asked curiously as he popped up in her mind. He had enjoyed the time they spent running around the cave. He saw the immense potential in the girl as she quickly leveled up.

"Am I anywhere near gaining a human form?" She asked instead of answering his question. The one thing she wanted the most always being her boost when she was down.

The guide didn't answer making her suck her teeth. She let out a long and exaggerated sigh.

"Fuck it. I've leveled up quite a bit, and it seems big bro is still here. Might as well go find him now." She stretched her wings as she decided on her next move. The silver within the snowy white feathers sparkled. She was a stunning bird even if she was a monster.

It only made it more dangerous for her.

With that, she activated her skill to track the male. The blue line stretched far until she couldn't see it. She was somewhat disheartened that it was going to be a long journey.

She took one step forward before pausing. A loud crack was heard making her slowly look down. A spiderweb like crack appeared underneath her foot. Slowly becoming bigger and bigger.

Now a normal person would've tried to move. Hell, she had wings and could've simply flown upwards. But she forgot about all of that and allowed the floor to crumble beneath her.

She fell down so fast only her feathers were left in her spot. The feathery outline of her body flapped pathetically before dropping down.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhh!" She screamed as her body fell at an alarming rate. The drop being way too high for her liking. She was afraid she would splat on the ground at this rate.

O'Nari used her tail feathers to wrap herself in a ball. She then used her impenetrable body skill to harden herself. She was akin to an iron ball.

She crashed into something solid. The pressure was immense but not enough to make her cower in fear. Before she could try to take a look, her body went rolling at another alarming pace.

She shut her eyes until it was over. The rolling around was making her nauseous. Is this what hamsters feel like when you roll them down hills?

*SPLAT*

Her landing was sorta cushioned by something squishy. I say sorta because whatever she landed on was more than a puddle of goo beneath her now.

'Congratulations, you've found family!' Myron popped up excitedly as confetti cannons went off in her head. The dizzy woman sprawled as she tried to get the spinning to stop. Little hers floated around her head indicating her being dizzy.

"Yay......" She tiredly cheered although she wanted to throw up.

'Please......get off me...' An unfamiliar voice spoke in her mind. It was completely different from Myron's putting her on guard.

She popped up and stood in a defensive stance to fight whatever was talking to her. Her eyes traveled down to see what she had landed on. Only seeing a puddle of blue goo, she was confused.

The puddle vibrated before slowly morphing into a blue ball. Two slits that most likely represented eyes appeared.

'Myron I thought you said I found my brother?' O'Nari asked in her head. She'd look like a crazy bird if she spoke to him aloud.

'That is your brother. Saturo Mikami, 37 year old male otherworlder. Reincarnated into nameless Slime monster.' He explained with an amused tone of voice. Making the girl inwardly snort at his bad luck.

Girl......you're a bird.

"Big brother......They really turned your ass into a slime?! I really wish I had my phone right now to take a picture of this!" O'Nari blurted out, not at all holding back her laughter. Tears welled up in her eyes as she held her stomach. This is the funniest thing she's seen in the three months she's been here.

The slime made an expression as if furrowing his brows before realization hit him. He'd recognize that nasally pig laughter anywhere.

'You stinky brat! You're not human either ya know!' He growled back to her telepathically since he didn't have the skill of physically communication.

"Why do you sound like that?!" She laughed even harder at the sound of his voice. Practically wheezing as she kicked the air. She didn't recognize it at all as it was much more high pitched and nonbinary. A complete contrast to his normal voice.

The slime was annoyed with his sisters laughing. He was already embarrassed enough being reincarnated as such a low level monster. This wasn't fucking helping.

So he stretched out what would be considered a hand and grabbed the crown of feathers on her head. He yanked it causing her to scream out.

"You bitch!" She yelled as she kicked him. Using her talons to dice him up even though he kept remolding his body.

The two rolled around on the ground fighting. Feathers and slime flying everywhere. But despite the cursing and name calling, the two missed each other desperately. They were all they had in their old life and now. But they would never show a sappy side to one another.

"Ahem." A deep voice cleared their throat. It caused the cave to rumble, pulling the two back to reality. Still holding onto each other like bad ass kids that didn't care about getting caught, they looked at the owner of the voice.

"COOL! A fucking dragon!" O'Nari stared excitedly at one of the creatures she wanted to see most in this world. Every good world of magic had dragons.

The large dragon shrouded in a mysterious dark aura stood a little taller. His folded arms making his muscles look a bit more intimidating. Anyone could tell he was pleased with being praised.

"Little Slime buddy, who is this?" The dragons deep voice boomed as he subtly showed off in front of the bird. All he knew she was a bit stronger than the slime. Somewhat tracking her progress these last three months.

It's been his screenless entertainment honestly.

'This is my little sister.........unfortunately.' The male reincarnate sighed as he introduced his outaku of a sister. O'Nari stomped on him just for him to squish between her toes.

"She's beautiful." The dragon grins looking at the pretty white bird. In all his 2,000+ years of existence he had never seen a creature like her. This was getting more and more interesting.

"Hehe, thanks I know!" She used her wing to toss her imaginary bundles. Batting her eyes with an expression full of cockiness.

Her brother looked at her with disgust. Even in a new life she finds a way to have a shitty ego. Sadly he wouldn't change it for the world, as long as she was happy.

He vowed to protect her better in this life.......actually know that he thinks about it.......

'You bitch! You ate my onigiri!' He roared with anger when he remembered the last thing she told him before blacking out. He had long since forgotten as this whole situation took him by surprise.

So of course he attacked her again, leading to them rolling around on the floor once more.

The dragon could only watch helplessly at the two creatures he just met. He wondered if they forgot he was here.......

The two learned that the dragons name was Veldora. Veldora the storm dragon to be exact. One of the original and strongest dragons in this world.

He explained how he's been locked here for the last 300 years by the hero at that time. The only magic that he couldn't break out of was this annoying ass barrier. They killed themselves to make this thing.

The dragon even explained they were not the first nor the last to be reincarnated. It was just strange as no one has ever not been reborn as a human. The siblings felt like cold water was poured over their heads.

"Heh.....How unlucky are we?" O'Nari dryly laughed at this new found information. Practically sulking at the fact that she should've been human from the start.

"Don't feel down pretty girl. Living life as a monster is great! You can do whatever you want......at the price of constantly being hunted." Veldora boasted happily trying to make his new and only friends feel better. As an apex predator, he lived a long and happy life. Despite people constantly trying to kill him and whatnot.

'Vel buddy.....that's not helping.' The slime sighed as he rubbed where his temples should be.

O'Nari flopped on the floor and looked up at the ceiling. A shimmer of light shown from where she fell from. She sighed as she thought about how they've spent months in here already. It's nowhere the time Veldora spent here but it was still too much.

"All I know is I'm ready to get out of here. I have a whole world to see." She mumbled with a slight frown.

"Hmmm? You can leave whenever you want to. The only one confined here is myself." Veldora chuckled at the girl's downcasted appearance. If anything, she kept traveling deeper when she was already close to the exit. He supposed if she was looking for her brother, she had no choice.

"But if we go, what about you? Aren't you slowly growing weaker? Plus you'll be lonely." She pouted at him, not having the heart to just abandon him.

Veldora felt his heart warm at her worry for him. In reality she really wanted to ride on a dragon and possibly wreak havoc. But he didn't need to know that right now.

'You could alwaysI think I have an idea, if you're okay with it Veldora.' The slime unknowingly cut off Myron. The guide felt his imaginary eye twitch.

'D-did he just cut me off?!' Myron practically raged in her mind. O'Nari snorted at this as she imagined him throwing things and pulling at his hair in frustration. She was glad someone else could experience the hell she called having a sibling.

Her brother explained how he had this skill call predator. It was basically the same thing as gluttony but a bit weaker. Intywayz, he would consume Veldora and the barrier, using the ability to break down the barrier and eventually freeing the dragon.

The storm dragon looked at him with pure excitement. There were a thousand ways that could all go wrong but he didn't care. The thought of once again being free was all the motivation he needed.

"Yes please!" He jumped up excitedly making the cave shake. The siblings shook violently while trying to avoid fallen debris.

"Vel! Stop before you get us killed!" O'Nari cried out as she picked up her brother and hovered in the air. Even then she was still dodging the fallen rocks.

"Oops. My bad." The large creature awkwardly scratched his neck. A guilty smile on his lips as he looked at the two that only stared blankly at him.

Settling back on the ground, the slime rolled towards the edge of the barrier. He looked up at his friend and huffed.

'Well, let's get this over with.' He mumbled getting ready to activate his skill.

"Wait!" Veldora yelled startling the blue ball of goo. The two looked at him with questioning gazes.

"You two don't have names. Well you have your old world names but you aren't able to use them because you're low level monsters. So I was thinking, why don't I give you names?" The dragon scratched his cheek, embarrassed. He couldn't call them little buddy and pretty girl forever.

The siblings hadn't actually thought about that. Since they were nameless monsters they didn't have the ability to call each other by name in general. They also can't name each other without having their own names. So Veldora if named them, they would be able to have an identity.

"Sure! And since you're basically joining us we can make up a last name too. Like a family name!" O'Nari smiled at the dragons idea.

Veldora felt a small crack in his heart but smiled nonetheless agreeing with her idea. Her brother on the other hand laughed at how quick the dragon was friend zoned. Whether she was oblivious to it or not, she had a history of breaking hearts.

The trio brain stormed for a while before finding a suitable family name. Picking the name 'Tempest' in homage to Veldora. He then took a second ti think of names for them.

"Okay, for little buddy I think the name Rimuru is very fitting. As for pretty girlSorry to interrupt again but can you read?" O'Nari smiled sweetly to the male dragon.

"Yes? Why?" He asked confused while tilting his head. She just nodded before  flying up and facing the wall.

A tail feather plucked itself from her. It set itself on fire before scribbling on the wall. She was slightly surprised to see that she wasn't writing in a language she knew but automatically knew what she looking at. When finished she smiled satisfactorily.

"Please read that!" She grinned at her new older brother. He furrowed his brows but complied.

"O'Nari." He read slowly to make sure he pronounced it correctly.

Two golden beams of light enveloped the two. They felt a shift in power as the light settled in. There bodies glowing for a second as if to show that they had evolved. Each of them getting an update from their guides.

'Congratulations, you are now known as O'Nari Tempest!" Myron popped up with more confetti cannons. Happy for the girl gaining a name as not many monsters get this opportunity.

"Hey! You tricked me O'Nari!" Veldora cried out when he realized what happened. The bird turned and stuck out her tongue.

"Sorry bro but I've always loved my name. I wasn't ready to change it." She giggled at his pouting face.

Rimuru shook his head not at all surprised. She used to tell him that her parents named her that because it meant 'Starborn Royalty' or something like that. She obviously took that to the head, no wonder her head was big.

He interrupted the two that were bickering. He knew first hand that it would get him nowhere with the stubborn brat.

'Well Veldora......Are you ready?' Rimuru looked at his friend turned brother. It's not that he wanted to rush him but this barrier was still depleting his energy. Might as well get it over with.

"Of course Rimuru." Veldora sighed before smiling. He never thought he'd get out of here after spending centuries in it. But he also never thought he'd make friends or start a family of his own.

Funny how quick things can change.

The slime activated his ability. Similar to O'Nari it made himself incredibly huge before devouring its target. In the blink of an eye, Veldora was gone.

Not just in physically but aura wise. There was a shift in the air that the whole world felt. A problem the two will deal with later on in their journey.

"Did it work?" O'Nari asked her brother with concern. She was sad that the dragon was gone but it won't be the last time they'll see him.

'Yep. But it doesn't seem like I'll be able to communicate with him.' Rimuru sighed as he explained what was going on. The bird nodded in understanding.

"Well that's that I suppose. There's only one thing to do now." She looked at the hole she created in the ceiling. Rimuru understood what she meant as he climbed on her back and made himself comfortable. She rolled her eyes at this but smiled.

  'Let's get out of here!'

Ugh I forgot how slow this starts😭
