She was a fucking bird......

To be more exact, she looked like a peacock. She was absolutely beautiful which was surprising considering male peacocks were the pretty ones. And she was positive she was still a female.

On the other hand, there was no way to gage her size as she didn't have anything to compare it with. Even then, there was telling if it would be a normal size.

She was a pure white bird with silver streaks running through her feathers. They were soft as silk and shimmered in the light. In the middle of her tail feathers lay a light pink jewel shaped like a heart. From what Myron told her, it couldn't be damaged and wasn't connected to anything vital. It was just pretty.

It honestly took her longer to accept that she wasn't human than the fact that she was born again. Myron could only silently watch from her mind. Dumbfounded by this reaction.

Where was all this energy hours before?!

"Okay, at least I'm not hideous. I can work with this....hahaha.....Am I able to gain a human form at least?" O'Nari came to terms with her situation as she paced back and forth. She stood on the edge of a pond that happened to be her area of the cave.

If it wasn't for the fact that she didn't want to stay here, this would've made a great home.

'Technically yes, but you're far too weak to do that.' Myron answered in an amused tone. He sounded like a snobby rich woman looking down on a peasant. O'Naris eye twitched listening to this annoying man.

"Okay, how should I get stronger? I'm a fucking bird." She asked with gritted teeth. She had never seen a reincarnation that didn't start as human. If she's considered a monster, how do they get stronger?

'That's for you to figure out girly pop. I can't tell you everything.' Myron said with a way too cheery tone.

O'Nari let out a deep sigh. She shouldn't be too surprised. It was already a blessing she even had a guide.

After a second of brainstorming, her stomach rumbled.

"Well shit, now I need to find something to eat." She groaned as she slumped to the ground. Where was she gonna find food in this place?

As if someone heard her prayers, the pond before her rippled. A light splash was heard as a coal black fish jumped out the water and dived back in.

She stared in the direction of the water for a second. When her stomach growled again she slowly pushed herself onto her feet.

"You know what, fuck it." The woman turned bird shook her feathers to knock off the dirt.

Wasting no time, she dived head first into the crystal blue water. Letting the cold water envelop her and soak into her feathers. It's a good thing she was on the swim team. One of the better divers on the team.

O'Nari opened her eyes to look around. She was amazed to see the vast array of creatures in this small looking pond. Yet it was so much bigger when she actually went in.

Not letting herself get distracted, she focused on the plump fish she saw moments ago. The black fish swam through the crowd. The other creatures making a path for it as if avoiding it. It was strange but she didn't dwell on it.

Propelling herself forward, she swam after it quickly. Startling the others that surrounded her as she practically zipped through the water. The black fish couldn't even react before it was snatched up in her beak and flung onto the shore.

O'Nari shook the water of her body. Her feathers fluffing out making her look like a cotton ball.

When satisfied with the level of dryness she was, she looked at the flopping wish. Its scales as dark as fresh charcoal. They looked sharp, like little daggers decorating its body. Thin purple lines wove between the cracks. It was actually larger than she thought seeing it up close.

"I really wish I had a fire right now. At least grilling it would make it less weird." She mumbled to herself. When she found her brother, she only prayed he was human so he could still cook.

  Little did she know........

Without a second thought, she bit into the fish. It's hard looking exterior ripped like butter.

One taste of the fish and O'Nari moaned in satisfaction. It tasted so much better than she was expecting. It was kind of spicy like a red jalapeño. The meat was tender despite being raw but it was like eating sashimi.

Before she knew it, the whole thing was devoured, leaving behind just the bones.

"*Burp* No cause that was good as fuck." She sighed wiping her beak. The flavor still lingered on her tongue.

'Congratulations, you have unlocked poison resistance level 5.' Myron's automated voice sounded in her head. The woman froze at his words.

P-poison?!

"My first day alive and I could've fucking died! Why wouldn't you tell me that thing was poisonous?!" O'Nari practically screeched in horror. She really ate that whole thing without question too.

'Did you not see the way it looked? I assumed you would've known it wasn't safe. But hey, who am I to interfere?' Myron shrugged casually. He was only to answer questions and warn her of life threatening situations. That level of poison wouldn't have killed her, just paralyzed her for a month or so if she was normal.

O'Nari was on the floor in a position similar to being on one's hands and knees. Her head down as streams of tears flowed down her face.

"I almost died....." She gloomily sobbed at her own stupidity. It just looked tasty, that's why she went after it despite its odd appearance. Plus she's in a world of magic, nothing looks normal!

A loud grumble of her stomach interrupted her despair. Like nothing happened, she popped up full of vigor.

"Welp, what's the worse that can happen? It's not like there's any predators here so if I do fuck up I'm still safe!" She concluded resolutely. Beaming with positivity she figured she might as well fill her belly by tasting the other creatures she saw.

With that, she dived back into the water.

"I fucked up!" O'Nari screamed as she bolted through the cave. Her presence nothing but a blur. She didn't even pay attention to the light speed skill she unlocked.

The young woman/peacock had gained many attributes during her seafood buffet. From fire resistant to an underwater life skill. She was ecstatic by the things she gained simply from eating. On top of that, the food was to fucking die for.

But it seemed someone took that statement too seriously.

O'Nari had eaten just everything in that pond yet she still wasn't full. Unlocking a gluttony skill which didn't seem very appealing at first. So she decided to swim further down considering she didn't need to come up for air anymore.

The pond was deeper than she had initially thought. The water becoming darker as light had a hard time getting to it. It was ominous in a way.

It was when Myron warned her of incoming danger did she realize something was wrong. Her reflexes were strong as she nimbly dodged an attack. It zipped past her at an alarming pace.

The otherworlders eyes bugged open as she felt her feathers stand on end. Despite knowing something attacked her, she still couldn't fully sense it.

She figured the worst thing was to stay in its territory where she was new to it. Quickly swimming to the top she dodged a flurry of attacks.

Like a bullet, she shot out of the water and rolled onto land. Her heart was racing as she looked back at the pond.

"Whatever that was, I just hope it can't leave the water." She sighed trying to steady her breathing.

Suddenly a geyser of water exploded from the pond. Her eyes bugged out of her head staring at the phenomenon.

'You might be a jinx.' Myron snorted in her head finding this to be hilarious.

"Shut it!" She growled back although she was starting to believe it too.

A loud thud sounded before her. In her presence was a large creature that looked like a much more intimidating version of a hermit crab. Its large claws were the size of cars and had corpses lodged between the wedges. It's red body covered in spikes that looked as sharp as needles. The shell covering its body was old and worn out but still looked impenetrable. Its glowing yellow eyes stared fixated on her.

"Heyyyyy......How you doin? You're not mad that ate your buddies right?" She asked awkwardly as a bead of sweat rolled down her temple.

A leg came flying towards her and implanted itself in the ground. Luckily she dodged in time or she would've been a skewered bird.

'I think he's mad.' Myron snorted as the beast hollered in rage. It's beady eyes staring menacingly at her.

"Ya think?!"

O'Nari pondered how'd she get out of this situation. The legs of the crab raining down on her from all around.

Soon an idea popped into her head. She had gained so many skills, although they were low level they may be helpful. So with a determined attitude she skirted to a stop and rolled out of the way of another attack.

Her eyes focused on the shell of the hermit. If it was anything like a normal one, its weakness was its soft body underneath.

The two had a standoff. The wind blew around them as they stared at each other. A single tumbleweed flitted past them as the camera captured every dramatic angle it could. Wild West themed music played in the background.

"I hope ya know....This cave ain't big enough for the here two of us." O'Nari spoke in an exaggerated southern accent. Her eyes narrowed at the monster.

It screeched before lunging itself at her. A twinkle of excitement flashed in her eyes for this upcoming fight.

She only hoped it go according to plan if even a little.

"Fuck he's strong....." She breathed heavily as she glared at the battered monster. One of her eyes shut as blood flowed over it. Her white feathers were covered in crimson. A mix of hers and his.

The hermit crab wasn't any better off luckily but he was still kicking.

O'Nari hovered in the air as she ignored the searing pain in her wings. Her feet positioned in front of her in a defensive stance. She had unlocked an iron talon skill that made them strong enough to rip through diamond.

But the crabs shell seemed to have multiple layers, making it difficult to pierce him.

'Warning, your health is critically low. It is not advised to take another hit.' Myron said mournfully. It was in his function to alert her yet he felt bad that he had to.

Despite their bickering, he liked his host. He would hate to see her die when she's only been here for a day.

"Ha, tell me something I don't know." O'Nari playfully scoffed with labored breathing. Her eyes focused on the creature that slightly staggered but kept up a high guard.

"Even so, there's no backing down or I'll get nowhere. It's either him or me and I sure as hell don't plan to die again." She spoke pridefully with a grin on her beak. Her drive as strong as ever.

There was no way in hell she was giving up when she could feel how close she was.

With that she flew up as high as she could in the cave. She barreled toward the creature as fast as she could. Using her light speed skill to propel herself forward.

The hermit crab was on guard but with the damage it took, its movements were slower. Making it unable to dodged her talons that swept across its eyes.

It shrieked in pain being rendered blind. Flailing its claws around as it stomped. It's heavy movements shook the part of the cave she was in. The ceiling rocks couldn't withstand the vibrations so they started to fall.

O'Nari dodged the falling debris and the hammer like claws.

Diving into the fray of chaos, she brandished her talons. She knew she was close to his core as the monster's movement had gotten more defensive. She had one last hit left in her strength, she had to make it count.

Flying towards him, she angled her talons at the spot she'd been hacking at. Her body spun to create a drill like effect.

A satisfying crack was heard as she reached the crabs cement hard shell. Her body piercing him through the middle and out the other side.

O'Naris body rolled on the floor as she landed with a thud. Blood and dirt sticking to her feathers. She stopped on her side, exhaustion taking over.

The hermit wailed as it tittered to the side. Its body convulsed as blood spluttered everywhere. The area was painted in crimson against its will.

The girl smiled as she watched the thing dye. Proud of the first fight she unwillingly put herself in.

But it seemed the monster refused to die without her. With the last ounce of strength it had left, it pounced on her once more. Its claws overshadowed her being as it fell towards her.

O'Nari tried to move but her body wouldn't cooperate. Her mind raced as she stared in horror at her fate.

'Would you like to activate the ultimate skill gluttony?' Myron's voice broke through her racing thoughts. His tone urging as if begging her to do it. She wasted no time in agreeing.

"Yes!" She screamed out, letting the guide know she wanted to use it no matter what the cost was.

As if time slowed, O'Nari watched as the mana inside of her exited her body and formed a larger version of herself. The beak of the bird opened wide as the crab fell towards it. The monster couldn't avoid it even if it tried.

It was swallowed whole, like falling into a black hole.

As fast as the bird came out, it went right back inside of her. She could feel the boss monster being absorbed into her body.

Nonetheless she let out a breath of relief. Happy that this was all over cause fuck was she tired.

'Warning, user is now entering hibernation mode after using ultimate skill gluttony.'
