Chapter TWENTY
They arrived at their camp, tongues lolling out of their mouths while they panted heavily, regaining their breath.
"Why did his eyes turn red? What mutation of a wolf is that?" Kanghyun huffed, shaking off the dirt that managed to get into his fur while being tossed into the muddy ground.
"I don't know, but that thing.. that thing isn't normal" Cya said.
"But Harin-"
"He'll be okay.. surely, he will. He'll find us. That waterfall wasn't too much of a fall"
"He'll definitely break a bone though.."
"Dongmyeong, he'll be fine" Yonghoon said, trying to convince himself more than the others.
"I genuinely think one of us should go look for him. That side of the forest is dangerous. God knows what pack could ambush him there" Kanghyun said.
"You.. You do have a point. But he's an alpha - he wouldn't be hurt too much. But it wouldn't hurt to go patrol around the area"
"Right. Do you think that other guy is gone?"
"Probably, but let's wait a bit. Maybe he'll show up"
An hour passed, and no sign of Harin.
They were starting to get concerned - the water fall was pretty deep at the bottom, what if he fell to his death? The territory around that area was dangerous too. The packs there showed no mercy.
The only thing they could do right now was hope.
Hours and hours passed, Cya didn't let them go find him as the sun was going down.
"He's all out there by himself! He'll get hurt!" Dongmyeong whimpered, uneasy.
"Look, he'll be okay. He has been alone before, he's an Alpha. The only thing that I wonder about him is how his restoration powers work so quickly" Yonghoon mumbled.
"Right? So it wasn't me that thought so, too?" Kanghyun perked up, putting away some herbs into shelves.
"He literally got shot with an arrow and the next hour or so, the wound was gone. Only thing that didn't heal properly was his hand, but it still healed relatively quickly. An injury like that would take months to go back to normal - a couple of weeks was all it took for him" Cya questioned.
"I have no clue. Genetics? Build? God knows what he was fed at that last pack"
"Yeah. By the looks of that guy from earlier, he might have taken a load of steroids. There's no way his wolf form was that well built. That, or there is extreme abuse in that pack"
Cya yawned, stretching.
"Anyway, we'll look tomorrow. Far too dangerous now. Let's go to bed before the owls start their calls"
They all nodded and padded away into their small dens, locking their doors so nothing could get in.
Oh, this was going to be a long night.
Not only for them, but for Harin, who was most certainly at the bottom of the damn waterfall.
