Chapter THREE

The remaining wolves heaved their injured bodies up off the bloody ground, whines leaving their snouts and the scraping of claws against the ground sounded through the little camp.

The stag was dead, that was obvious.
Yonghoon, but like all of them. Was terrified of the new alphas strength.
He simply ripped off the stags antler with so much force, what would happen if they got into a fight? He'd be dead in a matter of minutes.

God, not even minutes. All it took was a second.

Dongmyeong and Kanghyun tended to the other two wolves that were injured, before they healed each other.
"I think I should go check up on Harin hyung.. He didn't seem too well" Kanghyun stated, starting to get up but Yonghoon motioned for him to sit back down.

"Dongmyeong can go this time. He needs to get to know us one by one, so we build the trust.. I think he's a good fellow. Just really scared of what he can do" Yonghoon laughed nervously.
Kanghyun scooted over to Yonghoon and yawned slightly, resting his head on his chest.

"Wait, hold on. You want me to go to him?" Dongmyeong said in shock, pointing to the den where the Alpha presumably was.
"Yes, why's that a problem?"

"You said it JUST a second ago. You're terrified of him, but expect me to go and tend to him?! What kind of logic is this?"

Yonghoon sighed.
"Dongmyeong, just go. I'll let you off of patrol for tomorrow, how does that sound?" He offered.

"I won't have any patrols if I'm dead, will I?" The younger mumbled, grabbing the bucket of water and medic kit, going to the den.

Once he got there, he set the materials down and inhaled heavily.

You're fine, he's too injured to attack you. Dongmyeong, think logically. If he's too injured, he can't even snap at you.

With that, he knocked, and then opened the door, peeking in.

It was dark, all the lights were switched off and the window was closed.
But he could very obviously smell the stench of the coppery blood hovering in the stuffy air, the firewood and cider scent of the alpha.
He could see his outline as well, sitting up but not even glancing at him.

"What is it?"

The pained voice rung out, however there was no toxicity laced in with his tone.

"You're hurt.. I came to help you-"
"I'm fine. You can leave"

Dongmyeong's eyebrows furrowed.
"You're not fine. You took down a whole stag. I saw the wounds. They will get infected. We don't want you sick"

Harin was silent, but then his piercing gaze turned to Dongmyeong, who inched back a bit. Intimidated by the stare.
"Okay fine"

The younger smiled weakly, turning on one of the lights and getting the other wolf in full view.
He was definitely shaped well, like a normal alpha. The scratches he bore on his face made him stand out, and definitely made him that much more scary.

Dongmyeong snapped himself out of his trance and moved forwards carefully, motioning for him to show where all the wounds were.
Harin turned around and lifted his shirt.

His back was bleeding profusely, one large gash in the middle of it. The back of his head had also a hoof mark and it already was painted with the colors blue and purple.

Dongmyeong cleaned the wound and applied a few drops of his own made medicine which helped close up these kinds of cuts, applying a bandage and all.
He put ointment on the back of his head, and then moved away, seeing his bandage on his hand seemed already bloody.

"Here, I'll change the -"

"Don't fucking touch my hand"

Dongmyeong jumped back, nearly falling over from the sudden snap that the alpha let out.
"O-Okay.. I'll leave everything you need to heal it, then.."

The omega took out bandages and alcohol to cleanse the wound, shakily bidding him farewell and leaving.
After he switched off the light and closed the door, he full on sprinted, not giving a hell in the world about the water spilling.

The other wolves perked up when they saw him, but their worry instincts immediately switched on when they saw he was running.
"Myeongie! Are you okay? Did that bastard hurt you?!" Cya growled, going over to him quickly and enveloping him in a hug.

"No, but goddamn it that fucker is scary!"

"What did he do?" Kanghyun asked, sitting up.

"I tended to all the wounds he got from today, yeah? I saw that the bandage on his hand looked dirty so I offered to change it, but he fucking snapped at me and told me to not touch it!" Scoffed the upset omega.

"I will murder him one day, I swear" Snarled Cya, glaring over at the den.

"Don't you even try going at him. And.. Besides. Don't you think he has a good enough reason to let you deny changing it? You did attack him, after all. I don't think he's that trusting just yet" Kanghyun said innocently.

"You didn't attack him though, did you?" Asked Yonghoon.
"No"

"You go then. Change the bandage. I doubt he'll yell at you" Cya said.
Kanghyun nodded and got up, making his way back over to the den.

He didn't even knock, he just straight up went in.

"It's me. Kanghyun. I came to change the bandage on your hand" The omega said, switching on the light.
Harin grimaced from the sudden brightness, Kanghyun whispering an apology.

"He snitched.. I knew it. But you don't need to change it. It's fine the way it is" Harin stated simply.
"It's not. It needs changing every day. Here, come on"

Kanghyun sat down beside him on the bed and gently took his hand, grabbing the new bandages and alcohol.
Harin watched his every move, gaze not breaking away at all.

Once it was all done, the omega disposed of the dirty fabric, turning back to the alpha.
"Thank you" Mumbled the alpha, bowing his head slightly.
"Of course. And thank YOU for saving us back there. I don't know how and where the stag came out from. Anyways, have a good night. If you need anything, just pad on over"

Harin too, bid him farewell while he left, turning off the lights and closing the door.

Yet again, Kanghyun had to calm his racing heart and go back to the others.

"There.. He let me do it" He said, rubbing his eyes and yawning again.
"Okay. I think we should go to bed now. The rest of patrol is gone anyway, I don't think anything could come after the stag. So it's best to just go to bed now, yeah?" Yonghoon said, the other 3 nodding in exhaustion.

They all got up and headed back to their own dens.
Once every door was closed, silence fell upon the little camp of the little pack.

Maybe, maybe someday. It wouldn't be as little?
