Hey everyone! Chewy here! Welcome to the first part of Orion's origins and past! There will be at least three parts to this storyline so sit back and enjoy!

Moon: "Urg..."

Moon groaned as she managed to recover her consciousness. She placed her hand on her forehead to ease the pounding pain.

Moon: "Where am I now...?"

She observed her surroundings and found she was no longer in her room but a underwater cave.

Moon: "Aiden? Orion?"

Silence filled the dim cave. Suddenly, a luminous light source lit up the darkness and it was her barrier crystal.

It shone as if it was communicating with her.

???: The book...

A mysterious voice echoed in Moon's ear which surprised her. She stared up and a podium with a closed book on it.

Moon: "The book?"

Moon swam up with her mermaid fin and paused in front of the book.

She cautiously touched the brown cover of the book with her hand and it flipped opened miraculously.

Moon: "Woah! Okay...didn't expect that..."

The blank pages of the books all of a sudden were filled under its own command. It filled itself with writing and pictures that seems to be realistically moving.

The same voice began narrating the story right before Moon's eyes...

Years ago, in the era when the previous King of Anahita was still standing as the ruler, there lived two powerful enchantresses that were bestowed with magnificent powers.

Darya, The Enchantress of Light Magic, gifted with the power of light, purity and healing qualities. She mastered other types of magic beyond others' control, making her the most well-rounded and respected enchantress of Anahita.

Darcy, The Enchantress of  Dark Magic, gifted with the power of dark magic, strength and warfare. She was the advisor of the Guards, informing them about her visions of war which help the Kingdom succeed in attacks. She is also a professional at handling her magical weapons in wars.

However, Dark magic was prohibited under the command of the King so Darcy never practice it often, but knew how to control it.

They were the backbones of the Kingdom, with rare magical abilities. These sisters were loyal to their King and kept Anahita safe and sound.

Despite their loyalty, they had a wish. That was to explore the outside world. H

King: "You wish to leave?"

Darya: "Yes, your majesty. We want to explore the human realm and gain insights on them."

Darcy: "Not only that, we want to experience the life of freedom."

The King of Anahita ponder about their requests.

King: "You do know Merpeople like us don't necessarily have a good past with humans, how can I be sure of your safety?"

Darcy: "We are aware of that, your majesty. If anything happens, we have our magical abilities on us to escape."

King: "And what about the Kingdom? Without you two, we will fall into ruins..."

Darya: "The Kingdom and it's people have always been our concerns, which is why we thought about it beforehand."

Darya pulled out a blue crystal from her sleeve and presented it to the King.

King: "What is this?"

Darcy: "It's a barrier crystal. Both Darya and I casted our magic on this crystal. It will form a protective barrier around the Kingdom and no Merpeople will be able to leave without a piece of this crystal."

Darya: "We made it to ensure the Kingdom's well-being. It will lessen the amount of trespassers to our Kingdom too. We hope you will reconsider our decision to leave."

The King stared at the crystal that was as big as his entire hand.

King: "Alright. Both of you have my permission, but I have one final request."

Darya: "Anything."

King: "Take part of the crystal with you. Both of you will be welcomed back our Kingdom upon your returns."

Darya's and Dracy's faces lit up with joy.

Darcy: "Thank you, your majesty. We will never forget your kindness."

Darya: "We bless you and your daughters with a bright future."

It was hard leaving behind their home but they knew what they wanted. The barrier crystal was set in place and both of them took a part of it each, necklaces around their necks.

The sisters travelled east and readily followed their instincts. After two days of their journey, they both finally arrived at their destination...

<At their destination...>

As their heads emerged above the sea surface, their eyes laid at the many boats parked at a dock. Sailors bustling with work and lifting cargos onto the vessels.

A castle shadowed behind the small houses in sight. The two sisters looked at each other. They have arrived at a human Kingdom.

Darya: "Let's find an isolated spot."

Hand in hand, Darya guided Darcy further away from the busy dock and onto a remote area.

They climbed onto the wooden built planks and suddenly, their fins transformed into pairs of human legs.

Darcy: "Amazing!"

They wore long one-piece dresses in replacement of their mermaid outfits. Darya was the first to stand and succeeded in balancing herself. Darcy was next but failed on her attempt and fell into her sister's arms.

Darya: "Careful, Darcy! Here, let me help."

Darcy: "Thanks...wow, standing on human legs really feels so foreign..."

Darya: "I know right. But we will get use to it."

???: "Excuse me, Ladies."

An unfamiliar voice called out as the sisters turned around to find two regally dressed guards walking towards them.

Guard 1: "We don't recognise your faces from around here. What are you ladies doing here at the far end of the dock?"

The two sisters looked at each other with concern looks on their faces. Darya glanced back at the guards and replied.

Darya: "I'm sorry for causing any confusion, but we mean no harm. We just wanted to take a nice and quiet stroll here."

Guard 1: "So you are telling me, you two managed to get pass the guards patrolling at the posts? What you're saying is highly suspicious. You do know we have the authority to jail you, right?"

Upon hearing this, Darcy clenched her fists and stepped in front of Darya protectively.

Darcy: "Jail? For just wanted to explore a little? Are you guards being highly unreasonable?"

Guard 1: "I would watch my mouth if I were you, young lady!"

Darcy: "Do your worst!"

Darya quickly grabbed onto Darcy's hand and shook her head, telling her not to lose her temper.

Guard 2: "Hey, I've never seen these ladies in town before, but don't you think they are gorgeous?"

Guard 1: "Excuse me?"

Guard 2: "Am I wrong?"

Guard 1 stared at both Darya and Darcy intensely.

Guard 1: "No....you are not."

Darcy: "We can still hear you from here, you know?!! You perverts!!"

Guard 1: "Who are you calling a pervert??? We did nothing!!"

Guard 2: "Damn, that lady has a fiery mouth. The other one with the blonde hair look so pure and quiet in comparison."

Guard 1: "Tell me about it."

Guard 1 took a step forward.

Guard 1: "Listen up. We are going to take you two to the castle to meet the King. He will decide both of your fates. So I suggest you to obey if you don't want to end up behind bars."

Darcy: "Are you threatening us??"

Darcy's eyes glowed in a deep shade of purple, implying her annoyance.

Darya: "Darcy, calm down. You are going to lose control of your powers again."

At the sound of her sister's gentle voice, Darcy's eyes went back to normal.

Darcy: "I'm sorry...but I can't stand their attitudes! They may have high ranks, judging by their attire, but that doesn't mean they can take advantage over us!"

Darya: "I know...but think about it. If we get to meet the King of this Kingdom, all we have to do is to convince him to let us accommodate a house for the next few days. That's not too bad."

Darcy thought about it for a while before agreeing to the idea with a slight nod.

Darcy: "*Sighs* Fine..."

Guard 2: "So is that a yes?"

Darcy: "Isn't it obvious? We will follow, only if you perverts don't lay a finger on us."

The Guards face palmed.

Guard 1: "We are not perverts, for God's sake! We are literally keeping a metre distance from you two!"

Darcy: "GOOD! Let it stay that way!"

Guard 2: "Haizzz...this is getting exhausting. Come now, let's not delay."

Before they were about to leave, Darya stopped the Guards.

Darya: "Wait, before we leave, can I ask a question?"

Guard 1: "What is it now?"

Darcy: "Hey! Show some respect to my sister!"

Guard 1: "Oh god! Give me a break, lady!"

Darya: "What Kingdom are we exactly in?"

Guard 1: "Are you seriously asking that? I thought you two will at least know where you are. Now that's even more suspicious..."

Darcy: "Just answer her, pervert!"

Guard 1: "You!-"

Guard 2 stepped in between both Guard 1 and Darcy like a wall.

Guard 2: "Let's keep our cool people, no arguments."

Darya: "So? Where are we?"

The Guards glanced at one another and looked back at the sisters.

Guard 2: "We are in the Kingdom of Dawnville..."
