Custody
Continuation of last chapter. Just incase you forgot, the Group Chat is in the alternate story, thus his is too.
Error can drive. This is one thing I am incredibly thankful for. There were police cars all over Club's house. Error had to park at the donut shop nearby.
Deccy and I took off. I'm glad Error gave us a ride. Something happened. Club disappeared so fast. Was he okay!?
The police stopped us. "You cant cross this line."
"But Club needs us!!! He might be hurt! Slate could have–" The panic was clear in my voice.
By now Error had caught up. "F-Fresh! You have go c-calm down!"
"But hes right! W-we should be Clubs emergency contacts! Me and Fresh!" Deccy looked just as desperate.
The cop huffed and muttered something into his walkie talkie. The response came soon after. "Let em in."
I sighed in relief and hurried past him. Deccy was at my heels. Error wasn't very far behind.
Club was sitting in the back of an ambulance. He clutched his face where he had a crack spreading from one socket go the other. His other arm also looked broken and bruised.
"Fresh! Deccy!" Heart had big years in his eyes. He was the second oldest so he must feel... responsible. He also had a small crack under his left socket.
Club looked up. Only one eyelight was "on" right now. He gave a weak smile. "The bastard finally got arrested. C-caught him in the act."
"You shouldn't be talking right now." Diamond, the 10 year old, huffed. His glasses were broken.
The youngest was in Diamonds arms. He was only 8. Poor kid. "I-I didn't know Slate was m-mean to y-you guys."
I didn't know what to say. "What about your brothers?"
Club's single eyelight flitted away and then looked back at me and Deccy. "Depends. There will p-probably be a court case."
Deccy whimpered. "Are you okay?"
"S'just a crack. No biggie." He muttered. His eyelight was getting fuzzy.
"You need rest." My face twisted into a frown.
"Kay... d-do me a favor. Watch Heart and Diamond and Spade for me... " Clubs voice trailed off.
Three months later Dec and I huddled by the phone. It was almost noon. Any second now. . .
The phone rang. Dec jumped and scrambled to grab it. "H-hello?"
Deccy and I leaned closer to listen.
"I won the case. My brothers are my responsibility now."
