Just add water, is it that simple?
Can illuminating drops
bring an end
to the drought,
make plants' stems stretch for the clouds-
a chance to form anew.

Just add water
and watch from the porch
as insignificant leaves uncurl,
reach,
climb from nothing-
drinking in the drops on their stretch toward cerulean skies.

Add water
and wait-
observe--
hold your breath, bite your tongue ...
Stand still, statuesque,
spring sees success,
as something blooms from nothing
and winter fades away.

Water thaws,
drops heal now,
no longer bringing the sting of ice.
So
now you must stand-
just add water
watch-
and see the miracle of the plants,
serene and silent,
gracing your patio tonight.
