Chapter Nine
there's nothing going on between me and Marcus

3rd Person POV

the next day it felt like a cloud of darkness had settled on bright fields, and it wasn't going to get any easier. Indiana didn't feel anything at that moment. she didn't know what to feel, and to be quite honest, if she thought anything, it would be anger. She didn't know at who, though, herself? Mia? The horse thieves? she was always mad; at that moment, it only felt worse.

She walked around the stables with a sad look on her face. She felt Zoe's sadness from a while away. She couldn't imagine losing mac, and knowing that zoe lost raven hurt her, but she would let zoe handle it on her own. she watched as zoe talked to Becky and jade as they hugged her.

"team meeting," Sam called, and they all walked over. Indiana felt Marcus's hand wrap around hers, and she smiled softly at the feeling. She was almost mad at herself for being so happy over the surface of his hand on hers.

"Are you alright?" Sam asked zoe

"no. no, I'm not all right. I've had two horses stolen," mia said, and Indiana sighed under her breath. Sure she felt terrible for mia, but mia didn't know raven the way zoe did. She didn't have the connection that zoe and raven had.

"We're all upset. it's awful," Sam stated

"daddy's absolutely livid. He has a good mind to sue the stables," mia exclaimed, and indianas head snapped to her. Now that was too far, even for mia.

"for what? Something we can't control, mia. That's not going to help bring raven or firefly back, is it?" she said, and mia scoffed.

"what's this to you? he's my horse," Mia said to her, and She shrugged

"you wave your money around, mia it almost feels like you don't want your horses, you just the stables and anything you can get your grimy little hands-on," Indiana said, and she felt Marcus move behind her as he put his hands on her shoulders and rubbed them as to calm her down

"I'm leaving," Indiana spoke, and she walked away as they all watched her walk away. she looked at mac and made eye contact with him as she nodded

"I know, this is what you would want," Indiana said to him, and she nodded, but she leaned her head down and sighed.

"Dia," someone called, and she lifted her head to see Marcus waiting for her.

"meeting in the tack room," he said, and she nodded as she got up and left the room with him. They walked to the tack room and sat down, only to have zoe and pin busting into the room 5 minutes later

"Guys, guys! We think Raven is still on the island. Well, come on, let's go!" Zoe said, and Indiana shook her head

"Derek said," jade began, and zoe cut her off.

"Who cares what Derek says? He could still be here. We have to look for him. Come on, let's go, people," she said

"zoe, it's not that easy, we can't just leave right now" Indiana spoke and zoe scoffed

"I can't believe you guys are all just sitting here. fine, if you guys aren't going to help me ill go by myself" Zoe tried and she turned away

"This isn't about you, zoe. for once in your life, this is not about you" Mia stated and Indiana bit her tongue to stop herself from saying something she knew that she would regret.

"guys, listen. The ferries weren't running last night" Pin exclaimed

"then that means that raven could still be on the island" jade stated

"yes, exactly. somewhere out there, there's a horse that's been through unimaginable things, and its happening to him all over again. sure, we only have a tiny chance of finding him, but wouldn't you rather know that you tried?" zoe said and they all nodded

"then lets go find him" Indiana said and they all tacked up their horses as they left the stables and rode out into the fields

"listen up, we are going to search every inch of this island and leave no stone unturned. if there's any chance he's here, we will find him" Zoe spoke up

"if the storm comes in again, turn around and head back, it's too dangerous" Marcus stated

"jade, I want you to check the cliffs and,Becky, the hills" Zoe spoke

"but that's where ghost pony lives," Becky said

"it's alright Becky ill go with you," Indiana said and Becky blushed. they heard that pin was going with zoe and Marcus with jade. they all rode off and Indiana went with Becky. she rode slightly in front of her as she ran her hand down macs mane and then looked at the ground

"hoof prints, someone came through here" Indiana said to Becky and she nodded

"Indiana" she heard and she turned to Becky

"what's up becks?" she asked and Becky shook her head

"alright," Indiana said and she felt Becky ride up next to her

"so you and Marcus..." Becky led off and Indiana shook her head as she chuckled under her breathe

"there's nothing going on between me and Marcus" Indiana stated

"I think you should tell Marcus that," she said and then there was a pause before Becky

"OM-Gosh. I just said an actual sentence to you, like a full sentence. this is a breakthrough" Becky said and Indiana laughed under her breathe when Becky noticed that she had said it out loud and to Indiana

"that's cute," she said, and then they heard the thunder up above and Indiana looked at Becky

"let's head back," Indiana said and she turned around with Becky as they rode back to the stables before the storm came in. she had put mac back into his stable, and then she looked out when she heard the others. she saw zoe and mia riding in on firefly

"shes hurt" zoe yelled and Indiana watched as they went to help them and she smiled that was until she noticed that they were all looking at her and she looked at them and then at zoe

"you're both on the team for tomorrow," sam said and Indiana smiled as she nodded and looked at mac. she pet him and smiled again . she felt happy for once and she would continue to feel happy but how long
