Chapter Sixteen
he needs me as much as I need him

3rd Person POV

the next day Indiana tried to pretend like everything was fine but it never was and it never would be. Indiana didn't talk to her dad and she stayed at the stable over night when she woke up with mac, she watched raven and zoe leave and she didn't stop them. she tried to go through the day but she didn't and she knew where zoe went. She needed to fix the bond between her and raven and Indiana had some issues to work through with mac which she knew. She got up and put macs tack on and she left.

she went to the beach and saw zoe with raven, she sat on mac as she watched the two of them try to work through everything together. she knew what they needed and she liked that zoe was trying to fix it

"you know watching me wont help" Zoe called and Indiana laughed as she looked at her and sighed

"I was worried" Indiana called and Zoe smiled as she looked Indiana and mac

"you know this may seem bad but why doesn't he hate you as much as raven hates me" Zoe asked and Indiana sighed

"because I've had him my whole life and he needs me as much as I need him. I know that raven is a hard horse and that he may need help but he needs you z" She said and raven looked at her as she looked at him and then zoe

"do you want to trade them for a second and see the difference?" Zoe asked and Indiana looked at raven and mac

"they need to work together as do we, this is about you two and us two. help each other z" She said and she pat macs mane and rode back to stables as she looked at everyone and they all looked at her

"where were you?" Mia asked and Indiana sighed

"with zoe" Indiana said and she walked mac into the yard and tacked him to the fence as she grabbed the hose

"where is she?" Mia pushed and Indiana sighed

"look guys , her and raven need some space to work things out with each other after everything. I'm not going to tell you where she is but I can tell you that she is safe and shes fine" She stated and rosie sighed thankfully

"thank you Dia" Rosie said and she stepped forward and hugged Indiana and she sighed as she hugged her back and looked at Marcus as he looked at her and the others looked at them

"she could've left by now, we should go look for her" Pin said and Indiana scoffed

"fine don't listen to me" she said and she walked out of the room as she left them alone and she walked out to the arena, she looked at james and then the others as they all looked at her and she looked at mac as she finished washing him and she sighed

"staring doesn't make it easier" Indiana called and alex laughed as he walked up and put his arm around her

"don't touch me" she spoke and Alex laughed again

"oh come on, Marcus left and clearly you're lonely , just give it a try" he said and she brought her elbow back as she hit him and he groaned in pain

"I will never do that with you or anyone else" she said and she led mac away as she clicked her tongue and she watched him kick dirt at alex as she laughed and shook her head

"good boy" she said and she pet his mane and looked to see gabby staring at mac and she sighed. she always knew that look and she wasn't going to let gabby get what she wants. mac was hers and only hers. she ran her hand over his mane again and then she brought him over to the fence, she put him there and she walked up to stand next to mia as she began to address everyone there.

"and so , as I stand here before you at the dawn of the 25th annual frendlies, an event that honors sportsmanship, tradition, hope" she began and callum interrupted

"why are you stalling mia? afraid you'll embarrass yourselves in front of holloway?" he asked and Indiana scoffed

"oh, nothing embarrassing about bright fields. come on, zoe" Mia said and Indiana sighed as she looked out at the crowd and then at mia

"mia we cant stall any longer, lets just pray that they get back" she said and mia nodded

"lets do this, riding for holloway Callum elphick" Mia stated and they watched callum ride in the field. Indiana walked over to mac and she ran her hand over his mane as she saw Meredith right there.

"wheres the other girl?" Meredith asked and zoe rode in on raven and she watched james and zoe talk to each other. Zoe looked at Indiana and she nodded as zoe began to ride raven around the arena as fast as she could and she smiled at the sight. they had fixed it , each other and themselves. Indiana went after them and did the perfect round as Indiana smiled. when she was leaving she heard james talking to Meredith and she laughed

"don't ever try to take my horse from me or I will destroy you and your whole life, watch your back now james. you truly are an idiot" Indiana said and she stormed off before she heard mia fired james and she knew that mia was going to explode. Indiana brought mac to his stables and sighed as she put him in and she turned to see Marcus waiting for her in the doorway

"you know I truly believe that you two are made for each other" Marcus stated and she smiled as she looked at mac and nodded

"I think I love him more then anything in this world" She said and she smiled as Marcus sighed and looked at her

"dia" he said and she looked at him

"yeah?" she asked and he smiled at her as he stepped forward and ran his hands over her arms and she smiled as she leaned her head on his chest and smiled

"I'm glad you're back" she said and he nodded

"I am too" he said and she looked at mac as she locked him in and she smiled at him. that night when she went home, she felt safe and calm and happy. at least she thought that she felt safe.

she just didn't know what was coming
