Chapter Fourteen:
we'll be alright

3rd Person POV

Indiana stayed at the stables over night in macs stall. they cuddled each other as they watched the sunrise and Indiana felt the sun on her face. she began the day with mac and she would end it with him. she went out into the arena and started to ride him around the arena as she made sure his reins were safe and tight.

"starting early I see" James said and she stopped in front of him as she looked close at him and nodded

"alright listen, I don't like you, I don't like your methods and I sure as hell don't like you calling me diana. I am tolerating you because I know that you can get us to nationals and hopefully help us win but I will not treat you like a god. so you train me and help me and we go on with our days. deal?" she said and he smiled at her

"deal" he said and then he held out the whip and she shook her head

"without, he doesn't need it. he's my horse and we have the same wavelength. i know how to win with him but I'm not using that" she said and she rode off with him as james watched her. that was until mia called a team meeting and Indi got off mac. she walked into the yard with him and she listened to mia

"as of this moment, no one, absolutely no one, is to be caught cavorting with anyone from holloway and yes, zoe, that does apply to a certain traitor, whose name i cant even bare speak" Mia said and Indiana laughed slightly under her breathe

"she means pin" Becky stated

" you don't have to worry about that mia, he chose his side. i chose mine" Zoe stated

"good.make sure it stays that way" mia said and she turned away from the others to walk away. Indiana watched mia and susie talk and she scoffed. She almost felt bad for susie and she knew that. she looked at mac and sighed, she ran her hand through his mane and she sighed

"we'll be alright," she said and she grabbed his lead as she walked him to the yard and looked around. she looked back at him and leaned her head against his, she sighed and got on him as she looked at the arena and nodded.

"just a little time away" she said to him and she pulled his reins as she went to ride away but someone called her name

"what?" she called and she turned to see gabby standing there

"i just gave zoe pins stuff back, who's this?" she asked and she stepped towards mac but he neighed and huffed at her

"this is mac, he hates new people so i suggest backing away" Indiana said and she looked gabby in the eye and stared her down. Gabby looked at the ground and Indiana smirked in triumph.

"bye" she said and she rode off on mac as she held the reins close to her and she ended up riding to the beach. she sighed as she let the sun rest on her face and she smiled. she didn't notice the others following close behind her and she scoffed

"you know following people is really creepy" she called out and zoe laughed as she rode up to her and smiled.

"its a beach party, have fun dia" she said and they all sat together on the beach as they listened to mia talk until holloway showed up

"what the hell are they doing here?" Indiana said under her breathe as she stayed sitting on the ground next to mac and she saw the way gabby looked at him. she knew that look and if gabby was stupid enough to think that she could steal mac from her, she had another thing coming.

"hold on mia, look , we've had our differences, but if you think about it, we all want the same thing" callum said

" a koala bear for a house pet!" becky said and Indiana chuckled

"look, you care about horses and so do we, we're all competitive, we're all really good" someone said

"so, instead of being enemies, why don't we just.." Callum led off

"be friends, if only for today," Susie said and Indiana sighed as she nodded and stayed next to mac. he and raven were the only horses that they could see

"lucky for you, Marcus isn't here," gabby said and Indiana scoffed

"don't talk about my boyfriend or my horse to me," She said and she stormed off and away from her. she knew what Marcus meant to her and no one could tell her otherwise. she heard mia and pin talking but she ignored it as she sat back down and she felt someone sitting next to her and she looked up and saw Alex

"yeah no way," she said and she moved to the other side of mac

"right. it is time to liven things up a bit with a game of spin the bottle" gabby said and Indiana shook her head

"Im not playing, i have a boyfriend" she spoke and gabby scoffed

"he doesn't need to know" gabby said and Indiana shook her head

"I'm not a cheater" she said and she got up from the ground and got onto mac as she laid her head on mane and she watched everyone playing. she shook her head as she watched them and she sighed. she missed Marcus more then anything and everything made her remember him.

"now its time to find out everyone's deepest ,darkest secrets. truth or dare" gabby said and Indiana sighed as she got off mac and he laid down on the ground next to her. she leaned against him as she now watched everyone

"truth" mia said

"are fireflys hooves really that clean, or do you oil them?" susie questioned

"okay, fine i oil them.sue me" mia said

"i knew it. honestly no ones hooves can be that sparkly. your turn" Susie said to mia

"Indiana truth or dare?" mia asked

"god damn it, i guess truth" Indiana stated

"have you ever had feelings for anyone else, even though you're in a relationship , and that would make you an awful person?" she asked and Indiana shook her head

"no not at all, i love Marcus" Indiana spoke with confidence in her voice

"funny, you keep saying that and yet i don't believe you" Gabby said and Indiana scoffed but zoe spoke up

"hey gabby i would shut your mouth, you haven't seen the way she looks at him" zoe said and Indiana smiled softly

"becky? truth or dare?" Indiana asked

"truth. no,dare. no truth hit me " becky said

"whats your biggest secret?" Indiana asked and she watched beckys eyes glaze over

"actually i do have a secret, its really bad. its about kissing. my biggest secret is that i" becky began

"you never kissed anyone"jade interrupted and Indiana watched the look on beckys face

"that was so fucked up jade" Indiana said and she looked at pin and the others and then at becky. she watched them talk about better riders

"and with pin on our team, we cant lose" Gabby said

"i disagree, and i can prove it. i challenge holloway to a race. this is a game of truth or dare, isn't it? your best rider against ours" Mia said and she looked at Indiana

"are you prepared?" mia asked and Indiana nodded

"more than anything" she said and she got on mac as pin showed up on jet and Indiana looked at everyone. she heard them and then callum set a line and Indiana nodded

"its you and me" she said and she started off as it was called. Indiana and mac automatically shot off faster and quicker. she didn't let pin pass and she held him closely as she passed the line before he did. she stopped mac quickly as pin continued to ride past her. she got off of him and looked at the others

"told you, he knows me and i know him. watch your back gabby" she said and she led mac away from the others. she held him close as they went back to yard and she put him in his stall. she stayed with him but it didn't feel right.

"Dia" someone said and she looked up to see her boyfriend and she smiled

"Marcus" she said and she ran up and hugged him.

maybe she would be okay.
