Cup your hands and hold my tears

Just for a moment

They're too heavy for me to bear

And I'm so tired

I can't take another step

Not for my life, or a prayer

If you would hold them for me

Just till I catch my breath

And mend my breaking heart

I'll take all of them back

Then you can go on your way

But right now,

Would you shelter my aches

Till the storm is passed

And the wind dies down

Would you, for a little while,

Please open your arms

And let me stay?
