That drop of rain...

I caught it on my palm

And held it

Oh so carefully

But still

It slid down along my wrist

Dissolved

In the salty, callous heat

Leaving marks of its coming

In rivulets of crimson

Upon my heart

Standing beatless once again

Shattered

But still pulsing

Gloriously resilient

Mending in the melting rain.
