We meet often in art galleries

Pretending to look at the colours

Of love, laughter and tears

Does no one see the wistful longings

Being painted in our eyes

Nor care to study our charcoaled fears?

In this phony world of fake applause

They fawn over life stillborn

But for portraits of moving strife...nobody cares.
