Fragmented
She's dead, all this time looking, searching and she's dead. Gone, lost, dead never to exist again. And now I'm back here, the end of the world. Scorched earth below my feet turns to ash as I crush it. The routine resumes and smoke billows into the shape of the Eternal. White eyes glowing brightly against the black smoke. "I'm very sorry for your lose Y/N I hope this doesn't impact your fighting effort. I so do enjoy these little skirmishes. But Zenith did cheat a bit, so the rules will be switching up for this next round. Expect two." The smoke blows into the wind and the world crumbles below me.

My eyes open and I stare at the ceiling. "Y/N?" Akame speaks with concern. I turn to look at her, her crimson eyes comforting me. Her black hair reminding me so much of late Sasha. A tear rolls down my cheek and I break into a fully fledged sob, Akame hugs me in an attempt to comfort. My head lies against her shoulder enthralled by her black locks. "I need to do something." I mumble through my own tears. Against the aching of my limbs I climb into my clothes and clutch onto Kagami for dear life. Making my way to Najenda, Mine stops me. "Where are you going?" I look down at her. Then back up, I push past her and continue down the hallway. She's about to speak but Akame stops her.
"Najenda." I say as I walk into the room, she sits in her usual seat. Like a king. "Where's the next piece?" I growl holding myself up with Kagami. "You need to recover. I'll tell you the-"
"Shut the fuck up! Tell me. Where is the next piece?" I wobble slightly and she sighs.
"In the stomach of a champion. Two in fact, in two champions. The Eternal has been planning this for a while, these two dragons have been here for years now and have eaten two of the pieces. Here's their location. On this map." I snatch it from her grasp and stumble off. I don't plan on coming back, the other three fragments sit in my breast pocket. The shard of Nakkaka, crucifix of the crusader and gem of the brothel. Three objects capable of amazing things.

THREE DAYS LATER

I've finally made it, the dragon's lair. A huge canyon stretches of to the East and West, gold and other jewels cover the floor. I jump down the massive drop and use mirror maze to exit through the shiny jewels. "Human. We've been expecting you." A reptilian voice hisses, the body of flesh and muscle lifts itself from the gold horde. Skin hangs off bone exposing rotting flesh and organs. One eye lies dead inside the skull and the other is nowhere to be found. "I am the dragon of death, but you may call me Graknir."
"And I am Mekreth the dragon of Life." Another voice hisses and a beautiful pale white dragon beats down from the heavens, light blue wings laden with feathers while the death dragons are tattered leathery scraps. "What is your business here mortal?" The angelic dragon asks landing on the ground and curling into the shape of a sleeping cat. His voice puts me on edge and I feel nervous "do not be afraid lesser being. I am from the kingdom of heaven and my friend the underworld." As if that was supposed to make me feel better, the rotting dragon lies clumsily on the ground his bottom jaw hanging loosely. "I-I'm here for the two fragments you have hidden in your stomachs." I tell them
"Those artefacts are property of our master. I will hand mine over if you play a game with me. My brother may not be as lenient." His scaly lips curl into a smile.
"I'm here to kill you both. You work for the Eternal!" I growl readying Kagami.
"You have been misled. Our master is. Was, the God known as Terra. They created this beautiful earth we live upon. We are here to protect the pieces that will destroy the Eternal." Smoke puffs from the beast's nostrils.
The beating of wings sounds from behind me and a grey dragon hovers above me and the two other dragons. "Mekreth, Graknir it's good to see you again." It growls.
"Don't sweet talk us Brushnir the deceiver. You joined the Eternal." Mekreth snarls standing up.
"So I did. That brings me to why I'm here. I've been sent to kill all three of you as the champion of the Eternal." The two dragons that were here first are much smaller than Brushnir almost cowering in his shadow. "So be it" Mekreth fires feathers from his lightly coloured wings, Brushnir blocks them and they fall to the ground. "You two can't beat me."
"Maybe they can't but I can." A deep growl resonates from the sky. A pitch black dragon envelopes the canyon in shadow crimson eyes piercing the dark shroud. "Lucius!" Brushnir growls diving at the black behemoth. Lucius bats the smaller grey dragon with a swipe of his massive claw crushing him into the rock wall. "Father? Why are you here?" Graknir limps towards the goliath.
"I came to deal with the renegade. I see that Mekreth is still keeping you alive." Lucius sighs and lowers his head to the level of the small dragons. "Human. You have witnessed something that those who live billions of years never witness. Four dragons in one place. It's a rare occurrence. Wait..." Lucius moves closer to me. "Zenith was here. Is he still here?"
"No. Apparently he's not coming back. That's what the Eternal told me." I step back from the burning red eyes, gold sliding beneath my feet. "Your little pal Zenith is trapped in another dimension for the time being." Brushnir flaps crookedly one of his wings injured.
"Where!" Lucius growls pounding the grey scaled lizard into the pile of gold. "Where is he?" Teeth bared Lucius tears off a leathery wing and discards it. Every move Lucius makes shakes the very ground I stand on. A bright light radiates from Brushnir and I raise Kagami to block any attacks, but nothing happens. The rumbling stops. "Formidable power you have human." Brushnir stumbles from side to side, time frozen in a blue haze, blood pours from the torn wing and various other wounds. "I'm one of the six time dragons, I can control the flow of time." He stumbles towards me. "Goodbye human. I'm going to turn forward your own time to your death." His mouth opens and a blinding light pours forth. Nothing seems to change and I feel the same. "That bastard Zenith. He gave you his own DNA. You can't die by aging." I pull Kagami in front of me. "So be my destruction. I will accept my fate." I dash forward and cut a deep gash in the dragon's chest. Time starts again.
"Brushnir. You bast-" Lucius starts. "Foiled by a human. Pathetic." Lucius picks the still bleeding remains of Brushnir and swallows them. "Thank you champion of Zenith. For your assistance I will grant you the two pieces from the stomachs of my children. And together we may grant you a single wish. I can control dimensions and create them at will." Lucius bows his head in thanks.
"I can bring life." Graknir bows his head.
"I can end life and bring decay." Mekreth also bows.
"I want you to bring my sister back to life." I order a tear rolling down my cheek.
"And so it shall be. But I must warn you. My son will bring her back forever and at the end of her natural human lifespan she will rot and decay. Until she is nothing more than a skeleton doomed to walk the earth for all eternity. She will not thank you for this curse which will force her to live longer than even your extended lifespan." Lucius wears a scowl of seriousness upon his scaled face.
"Do it." I command.
"So be it." Lucius spits almost in disgust. "The process will be complete by tomorrow so stay by her body until then. Resurrection is terrifying for the dead. Especially considering she may have already glimpsed the afterlife. Now leave." Lucius snarls at me disgusted by my choice. "Zenith will be speaking to you about this." A portal the height of the canyon tears apart reality and Lucius looks back at me. "There is a cave in the east side of the canyon with a ceramic pot inside. That pot holds the pieces you search for. Lucius walks through the portal shaking the ground, Mekreth and Graknir follow behind, Mekreth by air and Graknir plodding slugishly behind. "Sasha I will see you soon."
Author's Notes - what kind of idiot resurrects the dead? You're God damned right I'll be having words with you. The council of dragons is now a thing in the dimensional collective and not only for me as some of you will know soon enough. Zenith Out...
