CHAPTER SIX:  ghost world

»»𝕽𝖊𝖋𝖑𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓►

CHRISTOFF FORBES HAD BEEN LEFT ALONE. Caroline said that she would go and get a few items that she believed Christoff would want. And, he was aware that she was speaking of going to the bakery that they-when he was visiting-would go to whenever Billy and Liz weren't looking.

It was because of that, that Christoff was alone in the house.

He had woken up slightly late. Definitely, later than Caroline had. The blond-haired boy had gathered his clothes, shower belongings and towel before he headed towards the bathroom. One thing he hated that, was because of his father, he always had the sensation that he was being watched.

He had been six minutes into his shower, when he heard a thudding sound. He turned his head, immediately turning off the water, pulling back the curtain. He reached out, wrapping a towel around his waist.

"Caroline?" He questioned, lowly. If it was Caroline, she would be able to hear him. And, from what it appeared, there would have only been limited of vampires invited.

Another thudding sound. Definitely not Caroline. Christoff reached for the cabinet, he had placed a dagger there, after having accidentally grabbed it.

He carefully walked down the steps.

The door opened. The downstairs door.

"Oh, my god!" Caroline yelled, when the dagger flew at her. Christoff had another dagger in his hand, the first one thrown as a warning.

Especially, in case it had been someone else.

"Shit, sorry, Care," Christoff immediately says.

Elena had been behind Caroline apparently, who barely moved the both of them out of the way in time.

"Fuck," Christoff cursed again. "Sorry. I thought-I thought you were someone else."

Christoff hated that, since last night, he had a feeling as though he was being watched. Although, he had to admit it was a feeling he had gotten most times. After having exited the vehicle, he turned around, searching for someone.

"Hey, are you okay?" Caroline asked her brother.

"I think all this ghost talk is getting to me," Chris says. "I feel like someone's watching me."

"Because people are," Bonnie answered. "You should hear the girls in our class; how is that Caroline's brother?"

Caroline scoffed, as if she was disgusted. "Oh, Caroline," she mocked. "I'm gonna be your sister inlaw."

"When did he get so hot?" Bonnie continues.

Christoff squinted his eyes at the two. "Are we sure you two aren't working with Klaus? You seem to be the same level of evil."

Caroline shoot her head, looking up at Bonnie, who was on a ladder. "So, when you did the spell to send Vicki away did it get rid of Anna, too?"

"I wish, all I did was block the magic that was helping Vicki get a physical foothold here. Jeremy's still got a direct line to the other side and as long as he wants to see Anna and she wants to see him...she's still here."

"Okay, you don't think that I can actually resist commenting on that," Caroline says.

"There you commented."

"How does Jeremy have a connection to the other side?" Chris asked.

"Oh, right," Caroline speaks. "Jeremy died. Mom accidentally shot him."

"What?" Chris asked in disbelief. "Okay, topic for another day. Why exactly are you still with him, if he's cheating on you with a ghost? I get he loved her, and may have been his first love, so, those feeling don't just, go away-"

"Shut up. You're not helping." Caroline says.

"I never claimed I could. That's you. Come on, Bons, you don't deserve that."

"What do you want me to say?" Bonnie asked. "I went against the balance of nature when I brought Jeremy back to life and now I'm laying the consequences."

"We'll, I want you to say you're not ok with it."

"I'm a thousand times not ok with it. I just don't know what to do about it."

The sound of a vehicle approached, stopped thier conversation. Damon stops by them with his car. "Greetings, blondie. Witchy...." Damon paused at Chris. "Ken doll. I think you got your voodoo wires all crossed when you got rid of Vicki Donovan."

Chris made a face at 'Ken doll'.

"What do you mean, why?" Bonnie asked.

"Because I'm pretty sure I just got spit-roasted by Mason Lockwood's ghost," damon replied.

"What?"

"And why would you think that?" Caroline asked

"Maybe because he chained me to a chair and shoved a hot poker in my chest. Let's just say I'm having déjà vu."

"You killed a werewolf?" Chris questioned.

"I did. Don't sound so shocked."

Caroline turned to Bonnie. "I thought you said that ghosts couldn't physically interact with people."

"They can't"

"Wait, when did this happen?" Chris questioned Damon.

"Like an hour ago. And, I don't have time for a vengeful Lockwood. When I kill someone, they're supposed to stay dead. Whatever you screwed up, fix it," Damon drives off.

"Shit. Do you think that applied to everyone?" Chris questioned.

"I don't know," Bonnie answered, unsure. "Why?"

"I've killed multiple supernatural beings. All of which, threatened to end me before I killed them."

"You're staying with me," Caroline demanded.

They were speaking with Matt.

"I haven't seen Vicki, I swear," the blue-eyes boy tells them. "I sent her back when you told me to."

"Are you sure, because she has just as much reason to haunt Damon as Mason Lockwood does..."

"She's gone, Bonnie," Matt snapped. "If she was here, I'd know."

"Why do you think it's Vicki and not Mason?" Caroline asked.

"Because of  any ghost other than Vicki Donovan had a physical foothold on our side...then that means Damon's right and something had gone rally, really wrong."

"And I'm definitely screwed,"  Chris speaks, more to himself then the other three.

"I've had enough of this gist shift to last forever," Matt speaks. "Do you guys can leave me out of this one." He walked away.

"I feel so sad for him," Caroline speaks. "It took a lot for him to send his sister away."

Bonnie sighs. "Yeah."

"So, much strength as a man."

"I've got a ghost problem to deal with, Caroline.  She the Jeremy-lecture for later."

Books dropped from Bonnie's bags as the grimoire opened up.

"Okay, did you grimoire just- Caroline begun.

And as the three were distracted, it had taken Chris a second to realize it. He yelled, removing the jacket he had over. Immediately, Bonnie and Caroline turn thier attention to him, seeing the burning jacket on the ground.

Immediately, Caroline grabs his arm in worry, looking at the slightly red arm. But, it wasn't burnt.

"What just happened?" Caroline asked.

Chris clamped his mouth shut, momentarily. "Clearly, there are various ghost. Since one just tried to kill me the way I killed her."

"What?"

"It was a fight. She killed a twelve year old girl, I was going to stake her, but she managed to fight me off, it was daylight out. I removed her ring, so, she burned to death. Damn, I liked that jacket, too."
»»𝕽𝖊𝖋𝖑𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓►

After hearing that, both Caroline and Bonnie worried. So, they had taken him with them.

"So, this is where you brought Jeremy back to life?" Caroline questioned.

"Yeah. Sorry I know it's creepy." Bonnie turned to the twins. "But we ended a private place around here to do the spell."

"I've seen worst," Chris shrugged. "I've been held captive in worst."

"You've been held captive?" Caroline questioned, worryingly.

"I escaped. Seriously, Care, it's fine. It happened a year ago." He shrugged.

"There no chance it's haunted by a hundred dead witches who were horrifically burned to death in this very spot, is there?"

"They're not here anymore. And they made it clear they were never coming back."

"Right. A pinkie swear?"

Chris suddenly felt a burning, fire pain, the room glowing slightly brighter.

"Chris!" Caroline yelled, darting forward with her vampire sped and ripping the jacket off of her brother. She threw the jacket to the ground, stomping on it to put out the flames.

"What the hell just happened?" Caroline questioned in worry, she briefly turne to Bonnie, hoping the witch had an idea, considering this place had been haunted by witches.

"I don't know," Bonnie answered, equally as worried and confused.

"I guess that answers the question," Chris muttered. "Just like Mason Lockwood is after Damon, hurting him, the vampires that I've killed plan to do the same."

"Wait. What? How do you know that?" Caroline asked.

"Because, I killed a vampire by taking her daylight ring off. And she just tried to burn me."

Caroline's face shifted, angry. "We really need to figure this out, now."

Caroline and Christoff had been lighting up all the candles in the room.

"Ready?" Caroline questioned. "Do you need me to..."

Bonnie had closed her eyes, concentrating. She began to chant in Latin.

"Right. Okay," Caroline awkwardly spoke, unsure of what she was supposed to do now.

Chris crossed his arms, lighter still in one hand. "How long does this normally take?" He questioned. "Never actually dealt with a witch, in either having them as an enemy or friend."

"It depends," Caroline began.

The wind started to howl, leaves on the ground being picked off the ground. The flames from the candles swayed in a direction, almost being lit out.

"Bonnie, I don't like this," Caroline speaks, looking around. "Bonnie..."

Christoff reached out, going to reach out to his sister, pull her behind him.  "Holy shit." Chris mutters, when a familiar looking woman, kneeled in front of Bonnie.

"Oh, my God!" Caroline speaks in a low, whisper tone of shock.  "Is that your..."

"Grams?" Bonnie's voice cracked.
»»𝕽𝖊𝖋𝖑𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓►

"I can't believe you're here!" Bonnie's eyes fill with tears.

"Now, stop your crying. We don't have time for tears," the woman tells her granddaughter. Then, turns to the two blond-haired twins. "Nice to you again, Caroline. and after years, you Christoff."

"Hi. Ms.Sheila," Caroline chuckled, shocked.

"Hi," Chris speaks, staring in shock. Then his eyes widen, immersed turning and pulling Caroline to his side.

"Christoff," another voice speaks, anger laced in it.

Shelia was speaking with Bonnie.
Caroline pulled Chris behind her.

"Artemis," Chris breathed out, stunned into momentarily silence, and guilt began to churn in him.

"You know her?" Caroline questioned.

"He killed me," the girl replied.

"I'm sorry," Chris says. "It wasn't meant for you. You weren't suppose to-"

"I know, Chris. Look, the only reason I'm here is to protect you from the ghost who are truly here to hurt you."

"How many?" Caroline questioned.

"Dozens."
»»𝕽𝖊𝖋𝖑𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓►

Artemis had already taken down two ghost, while Chris had managed to avoid them. Since, both Artemis and Caroline had been protecting Christoff.

"You don't have to do this," Chris spoke to Artemis. Caroline had called Elena, informing her of the update.

"I don't have to do anything, I never had," she replied, recalling her saying the same words to Chris. But, his answer, was that he truly didn't have a choice. And, after watching over him, she had seen, that, he truly didn't. "I want to."

Caroline had momentarily left while to call Elena, only after, she had immediately returned to her brother.

"Go to hell," Chris hissed at the ghost.

"Oh, fuck-" Artemis began.

"Not you!"

Immediately, at the words, Artemis turned around to face a ghost. "You are not going to hurt him."

"We'll do more than that," Tabitha, a witch that Chris had killed a year ago, was there.

"Chris!" Caroline yelled out, speeding over to her brother.

The ghost, disappeared.
With Chris.

"This is your plan?" Chris questioned, head bowed down, head spinning. He breathed out, deeply, inhaling just as heavily.

"I can't recreate the pain I was out through, when you and your father had decided to try and, what? Force me into mo longer being a vampire?"

"He thought you could find another way to live, without killing people," Chris told her. "If you didn't kill, I would have helped you."

She scoffed, crossing her arms. "Helped me what? Become less monstrous?"

"Escape, alive. I would have told him that I already killed you, and got rid of your body." Chris reasoned.

"Right, your father, how do you think he would react, if both his children were the very monster he hated so much?"

Chris's face fell, no longer that forge of being brave, fearless. When seeing how worried, how fearful the boy was, Riley smiled, another ghost who was apart of the plan to kidnap Chris.

"No!" Chris yelled out, pained. He was injured, looking down at the stake in his hand. His already dark grey shirt, turning darker, as it was soaked with his blood.

He didn't know if he should be grateful for Caroline having fed him her blood, or terrified now that if the ghost/vampires went through with their plan to kill him, he would become a vampire.

The ghost, suddenly where no longer there. But, Chris was still tied up, he hung his head, letting out a sigh of relief.

Now, he just had to break out of this.

Caroline had found him, seemingly having sped throughout the entire town before finding him.

"Chris!" Caroline yelled out in worry, sounding relieved as well. She immediately ran toward him, releasing him from his binds.

"Caroline," Chris breathed out, before his head tilted back, falling unconscious.

"Chris!"
