CHAPTER FIVE: smells like teen spirit

[☾★ ]𝗋𝖾𝖿𝗅𝖾𝖼𝗍𝗂𝗈𝗇[☾★ ]

CHRISTIOFF WARREN FORBES WAS AWARE, THAT CAROLINE WAS TRYING TO GET HIM CAUGHT UP EITHER EVERYTHING. And that apparently meant he was forced to hear about all the supernatural creatures that they have battled (although it appeared that it was mostly Damon who caused the trouble).

"Here we are." Caroline looked up at the school. "Senior year."

"Anyone else think that should feel slightly more empowering?" Bonnie questioned.

"I feel more that slightly nervous, does that count?" Christoff asked back.

"The hunter, who slit and snapped a vampire's neck, is nervous if a school?" Caroline questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Hey, I haven't been to school in a while," Chris replied, offended by her tone.

"Okay, so, prank night was a bust but we are accepting it and we are moving on." Caroline go began to walk towards the school.

"Your right. I mean, why should I let the fact that my boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriends hinder this experience?" Bonnie spoke up.

"Yes, and why should I let the fact that my boyfriend was turned into a hybrid out a damper on an otherwise fabulous day." Caroline continued. "After all, my brother is back!"

"Today's our anniversary," Elena suddenly says. "Technically, Stefan and I met on the first day of school last year."

"Yeah, you win," Caroline tells her.

"Are you sure you wanna be here?" Bonnie asked her.

"I have to be here. I have to put it behind me. New year. New life." Elena walked into the school.

"Is now a bad time to mention that I still am unsure of where any of my classes are?" Chris asked back. "And, another question; how on earth, is Damon, our friend? With everyone Caroline's told me, I should have staked him when I seen him at the Gilbert house."

"Okay, new mission; keep you away from Damon," Caroline smiled as she then pulled him into the school. "There's a back-to-school bonfire, which you will be attending."

"How can I attended a back-to-school event if I've never been in this school?" Chris sarcastically asked back.

Caroline looked at him, annoyed expression. "It's back-to-school, and you are going back to school. Not, back at mystic falls high." She smiled, as if she was proud of her logic.

Chris narrowed his eyes at her. "I think I liked it better when you tried to be better than me, and ignored my very existence."

"I was five! I'm sorry!"

"I was five too. Still, never, ever felt heartbreak as I felt that year," Chris faked a sad look, then immediately grinned.

"You're a dick," Caroline shouldered him.

"You can't do that. Your a vampire now, you may break my fragile human bones."

"Oh, god, I think I liked it better when you were speaking to say yes or no phase."

"I was five!" Chris counteracted, mocking Caroline's earlier statement.

They turned a corner, Caroline puts a flyer for the bonfire on the wall.

"I forgot about the bonfire," Elena's voice sounds from behind them.

"You have to go. It's our first spirit squad event. And it sets the bar for the whole year," Caroline immediately says.

"Relax, Caroline. I'll be there."

"Thank you. It's just that..." Caroline begins, only is stopped as Tyler arrives and kisses Caroline.

Elena looks at his shirt and sees the red spot.  "Is that blood?"

Chris's eyes widen, surprised that Tyler had been so careless and stupid. "What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked,  then realized he was in the hallway.  If anyone was listening, it would be odd. "Get into a fight?"

"Oh my God!" Caroline, catches Tyler, shoving him into the boy's bathroom. Chris and Elena follow them.

They enter in the restrooms. Chris and Elena immediately begin to check the stalls for anyone else.  No one else was inside.

"What's going on?!" Tyler asked, confused.

"Vampire 101... don't wear your breakfast to school!" Caroline scolded.

"Chill out. It was just a blood bag," Tyler says.

"From where?" Caroline asked back.

"Rebekah hooked me up."

"Rebekah? And what are you even talking to her for?"

"Klaus told her to keep a watch on me. Protect his new asset," Tyler says.

"His what? Why are you amused by this?"

"He's Klaus's first success in a hybrid," Chris spoke up, faster than Tyler did.

"Don't you think that's the tiniest bit awesome?" Tyler asked.

"Oh, wow! I cannot believe you just said that."

"So, I'm going to go." Elena says. "Good luck."

Chris glanced back and forth, between where Elena left and his sister stood in scolding her boyfriend.  "How, are you, anyway, Tyler?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm great. The boy I used to play football with, was trained to hunt me!" Tyler replied back.

"Hey, you attacked me first, if anything, me pulling the weapons on you, was self-defense. And, neither of the weapons were wolvesbane laced. Just vervain." Chris shrugged.

"Okay, we are not talking about this right now," Caroline interrupted. "We are talking about you!" She pointed back at Tyler.

"And, I wouldn't kill any of you," Chris added. "Well, from the stories I heard of Damon Salvatore, maybe him. If those stories are correct. And, I get that vampires emotions are enhanced, but really? Now's the moment you're gonna act betrayed and hurt? I had no choice in the manner."

"How could you not have a choice?" Tyler asked back.

"Because he forced me to do it, maybe? He wanted to get rid of vampires, either get rid of their blood-thirst, or them. And he needed help with it."

"So, he put you in danger?" Tyler asked, tone seemingly judgmental and angry.

"I need to find my class," Chris spoke, unsure of to Tyler's sudden anger. But, knowing he was the cause of it. He glanced at Caroline. "Do you know where the class is?"

"Yeah, I'll show you," Caroline eyes her brother, suspicious to his sudden nervousness.

"We have the same class," Tyler called out, confusingly.

Caroline walked out the bathroom. "Hey, are you okay? Your heart beat-"

"Fine." Chris quickly answered. "Just nervous. You know, it's been years since I've been back here."

"And it appears, we have a new student," the male teacher spoke. The man had hazel-green eyes, a light scruff on his face.

Caroline grinned, placing her hands onto her brother's shoulders. "This is my twin brother; Christoff."

"Come on, Care," Christoff speaks, walking towards an empty seat.

The room already had a few students, but, the only ones that Christoff recognized was his sister, and Elena Gilbert. Tyler soon walked through the door, as did many other students. . Only, when the humanity-less vampire walked in, he demanded for a student to leave the seat next to Elena.

Alaric turned around. "Welcome back, seniors. Let's, uh, turn our brains back on starting with, uh, this country's original founders the Native Americans."

"What about the Vikings?" A female voice called out, making all heads turn in the direction it came from. Rebekah Mikaelson had just walked in.

"Well, there's no evidence that Viking explorers actually settled in the United States," Mr. Saltzman replied.  "Who are you?"

"My name's Rebekah. I'm new and history's my favorite subject."

"Okay," Christoff had no clue as to why his sister dragged him here. There was both a cheerleading, and football practice going on.

Christoff scanned the crowd, eyes landing on where Rebekah Mikaelson had just appeared. Next to his sister. Christoff wished that he was able to hear what the two were saying.

"Oh, shit," Christoff cursed when seeing Tyler walk up to the coach, and a few seizure later, the coach declared that they could go ahead and end practice. But, it was clear what Tyler had done.

Caroline walked over to Tyler, the two speaking. Christoff got off of his head, heading down the steps.

"Caroline," Christoff says in a tone of annoyance.

"Christoff,"  Caroline mocked. "No." She throws the green shirt onto the bed, in the 'no pile'.

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

Caroline looks at his outfit, judgmentally. "What isn't wrong?"

Caroline had excused herself a few minutes after getting to the party, saying that she had needed to go and find Elena.

Christoff tilted his head, twisting the drink in his hand and turning around. He had felt the feeling of being watched, but as he turned, he had seen that Damon had walked towards Rebekah, who sat at a bench by a fire.

"What the fuck?" Christoff questioned when seeing the two flirt.
[☾★ ]𝗋𝖾𝖿𝗅𝖾𝖼𝗍𝗂𝗈𝗇[☾★ ]

Damon had made the older vampire a s'more, handing it to her. He stared at her. Before he smirked.

Rebekah stood up. Damon followed her. Rebekah leaned closer, then shoving the wooden stick through his stomach.

"Does no one know about being discreet?"  Christoff questioned.

"You stab people discreetly?"

"Yeah. Want to see?"

Damon, ended up explaining the plan to Christoff. The plan in which ended up revealing that Tyler is sired to Klaus.

"You're really Barbie's brother?" Damon asked.

Christoff turned to him at the odd nickname. "There's no way my sister is actually friends with you."

"Oh, thank God!" Caroline yelled out, wrapping arms around her brother's neck. "I am so sorry! I just-

"Tyler is sired to Klaus, I know."

Caroline's face fell. "How?"

"A little bird told me," Christoff shrugged.  The was before Damon went to help Elena take care of her wounds. Although, he had offered to help, saying that he had gained similar wounds-something that had Elena's face fall in sadness-Damon said that he would handle it. And that he didn't want to hear Caroline lecture him about being around her brother.

He had been dropped off at his house.
