Chapter 7 Sweet Conversation

Jeremy decided to call his mother before going to the meeting Jamie invited him. He missed her everyday, but talking to her would make him feel better , specially when she assured him she was fine. Talking with Dana would also help him not be so homesick, but with his mom it was a bit different.

"I'm really glad you have made new friends. " Victoria said happily when listening he was going to a small reunion.

"Thanks ma, what about you?" he asked.

His mother's phone ringed and she checked it, she started smiling while reading a text message and Jeremy inmediately knew she must have been seeing someone. He would know it because seeing her reaction reminded him of when she was dating the douche Greg Owens.Just thinking of him made him want to vomit.

"Ma, are you dating someone?" he asked in a curious voice tone.

"Why whould you say that?" she asked placing her phone down.

"Call it intuition. Are you ?"

"Yes. "

"Please tell me it's a nice guy, not like that moron you dated last year. " he said not wanting to say the name as if it was the one who shall not be named.

"He's a nice guy, I swear. I haven't told him about you before because we are still getting to know each other. I don't know if we'll be serious eventually or not."

"What's his name?"

"Michael.Don't sweat it son, we have only been out twice, nothing for you to worry."

"Ok, I trust you. But please be careful. And please keep me updated."

"I will, take care son. "

They both hanged at the same time, making Jeremy turn off his laptop and tucking his phone on his pocket while walking to the campus cafeteria, where she Jamie told him she would wait for him. She was wearing a black Aeropostale tshirt with ripped jeans and black boots.

"Ready to go?" he asked as she was raising her head from her phone.

"Yeah, let's go. "

Jamie's house was regular, a two floor house painted blue and had a small but cute garden with different flowers on the front. She opened the door and saw some snacks like doritos and dip on the table and some alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages as well. Five minute later three guys and two girls came inside and Jamie introduced them to Jeremy.

"Hello everybody. " he said acting as nice as he could shaking their hands. He suddenly stopped when he shaked the hand of a girl called Mia as he unexpectedly read her mind. It has been a while since he read someone's mind.

"I don't understand what Jamie sees in this guy, he's not that good looking. Why would she be interested in him? Gavin is way hotter."

Jeremy tried to fake a smile, why was she being so obnoxious when she just met him. As much as her comment pissed him what surprised him more was what she mentioned about Jamie. Did Jamie mentioned to her she was romantically interested in him? She never flirted with him or anything, so he felt confused. He hoped he was wrong and that was some type of misunderstanding. All Jeremy hoped was to have fun tonight and nothing bad would happen, but somehow it didn't seemed that way. He noticed one of Jamie's friends, Gavin, would look at him in an unpleasant way. Jeremy guessed he was interested in Jamie, and saw him as a threat. He would do his best to have a good time and not offend Jamie's friends as he wanted to be at peace.

Sean invite Amy to eat breakfast at The Butter. He ordered his usual black coffee and Amy ordered orange juice while their food was brought.

"Aims, I want to apologize. " Sean said as soon the waitress left. " It was never my intention to hurt you giving Mom's earrings to Hannah. I swear to God it never crossed my head it would make you feel bad. I just wanted Hannah to have something related to Mom, that's it.I'm deeply sorry, specially in the way you found out."

"I know, let's forget it. Ms. Reynolds rocked them."

"You can't still call her Hannah, huh?" he said with a short smile.

"She has asked me to call her like that, but it just won't come out. I need to work on it.By the way, are you guys with the wedding plans?"

"We'll starting looking for venues. I hope you can make time to come with us, I know Hannah won't mind. "

Moments like that made her understand how much she would miss Sean and their siblings moments, probably he would miss her as much as she would miss him.The waitress came with their food and they started eating.

"Feel like watching a movie tonight?" Amy asked placing syrup on her pancakes.

"Any movie on mind?" Sean asked drinking a sip of coffee.

"No, but we can check on internet. "

"Sure. "

Both siblings enjoyed their breakfasts and enjoyed their conversation for a good while, with both of them hoping their good times would never stop.

Dana was staring at her laptop while deciding what to write to Liam Pierce on Facebook. She wasn't sure if to contact him on Facebook or Instagram, at the end she decided to use Facebook as to her it was less personal than Instagram. She had no trouble finding him, now her issue was if to write on his wall or a private message. In his wall all his contacts could read her message to him and have the wrong idea, and if she wrote him a personal message he might have the wrong idea on why she contacted him.She wasn't sure what to do. After some minutes she clicked the chat icon, and decided her message would be short, direct and that way he would not think she was romantically interested in him or cause any misunderstandings.

Hi. I'm Dana. We met on The Art Gallery. You may not remember me, I was watching your painting "Growing Up ", and wanted to ask you the story behind it. Thanks in advance. "

She read it twice before sending it, and since she was pleased she pressed sent. Dana went downstairs as her mother baked a chocolate cake and knowing her father had a sweet tooth she grabbed a slice and served herself some milk to eat it at her room. When she sat down again she noticed she had a new Facebook notification. To her surprise, Liam had just answered her.

Hello, of course I remember you. I apologize for making you wait that night, I was called by one of my teachers and when I came back to look for you were already gone. Sure, we can get together next week. I can tell you about my painting and you can tell more of your poems. What do you say?

Dana bit her lip nervously, was he asking her out? She never expected him to ask her to see again, she was wanting a short simple answer. Now she was puzzled and wondered if she made a mistake contacting him.

I'm quite busy, classes and other stuff. You can tell me about your painting here.

Common, there's no fun in that. We would just be two people discussing their interests.Nothing else. You won't regret it, I promise.

She looked at the screen for a while not knowing what to answer, she was crossing fingers he was not thinking it was a date because if it was the case she would have to explain to him she had no hidden motives and it could be uncomfortable. Dana decided to make her intentions clear.

Fine. It is a friends hangout. I'm free on Tuesday.

Great. I'll be sending you here the address of a great cafeteria. Don't forget to check it.

Dana felt relieved he didn't ask for her phone number. She texted him goodbye turning off her laptop and enjoyed her cake.
