"Take it. You don't want to be late. " Amy said stretching her hand with the box on it. 

"Aims, I..." Sean started but was interrupted by her.

"Just go, and good luck tonight."

Sean seemed to want to say something but knew he was going to be late and walked away locking the door. Amy felt confused, why would Sean share with her he was proposing to his girlfriend that night?It made no sense, they would always tell each other everything. She wasn't sure how to feel, as a part of her felt betrayed as well. Of course, she wanted him to be successful that night and come back saying Ms. Reynolds said yes. Amy had several feelings encountered, and needed to ventilate how she felt. So she started dialing Dana's number on her phone but the line was busy. She cursed her bad luck.

It was not easy for Jeremy being away from his mom, who he cherished dearly, or his girlfriend and his friends but he tried to be positive about his situation. He was now at MIT, studying Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, fullfing his dream and hoping to learn everything he could.He was reading information about the career on his laptop, feeling fascinated with the achievements some graduates had: two graduate students were announced as recipients of  Facebook Fellowship Awards, one of them in computer graphics, the other one in machine learning. Other graduates achieved awards and prizes on conferences or paperworks, making him wish he would be as great as any of them. He was eating on a restaurant located on the campus while speaking with Dana on the phone. 

"Have made any new friends?" Dana asked.

"Nope, I have been friendly with some people but nothing formal yet. Yesterday I was speaking with my mom, she asked me if i have spoken with Jason. " 

"Have you?" 

"No, I know I should since he's paying tuition and he's my father, but I still don't feel a connection with him."

"No worries, you can't force a relationship with him. Specially since he has been absent most of your life.It takes time. At least write him an email asking him how he is and telling him what are you up to."

"That's a great idea, thanks for listening."

"There's nothing to thank. I love you and I care about you,whenever you need someone to talk with I'm  a phone call away. " 

"I love you too. Sweet dreams. "

They both hanged at the same time. Jeremy placed the phone down and started looking information about the Facebook Fellowship Program and when he did he started reading it. The idea of getting to know Mark Zuckerberg, or people working with him would be a great experience for him.

The Facebook Fellowship is a global program designed to encourage and support promising doctoral students who are engaged in innovative and relevant research in areas related to computer science and engineering at an accredited university.

The program is open to students in any year of their PhD study. We also encourage people of diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply, especially those from traditionally under-represented minority groups. Applications are evaluated based on the strength of the student's research statement, publication record and recommendation letters.

Winners of the Fellowship are entitled to receive two years of paid tuition and fees, a $42,000 annual stipend to cover living and conference travel costs, a paid visit to Facebook headquarters for the annual Fellowship Summit, and various opportunities to engage with Facebook researchers.

 "Excuse, my phone just died. Would you mind if Iborrowed your phone?"

Jeremy raised his look from his laptop and it was  a pretty black girl with dark brown eyes and long curls. Her look was pleading,as if Jeremy was her lost hope.

"Sure, here." He said handing her his phone.

"You are angel. " She answered grabbing the phone and sitting next to him. Two minutes later she was giving back the phone. " Thank you so much. "

"You're welcome."

"Are you fresh meat? I have never seen you before."

"If you mean if I'm new, then yes. Is it that obvious?"

"Sort of of. There's nothing wrong with it, I was one as well some time ago. "

"Let me guess, are you a senior?"

"I'm not that old, I'm a sophomore. Let me introduce myself, i'm Jamie Evans. Biological Engineering." She said extending her hand. 

"Jeremy Price,  Electrical Engineering & Computer Science." He said shaking her hand. 

"Nice to meet you Jeremy, if you ever need help give me a call. I would save  your number on my phone but since its dead I'll write  down mine for you."

She took a pen and ripped a page from an agenda notebook, writing her name and phone number and left it on the desk before saying goodbye to him.

Amy and Sean were having breakfast together silently, which was akward for them.They were used to talk about everything. She was eager to know if Ms. Reynolds had accepted her or not, just as she knew he was wanting to tell her as well, but since last night everything was different between them.Amy decided to break the silence. 

"Did she say yes?" she asked after sipping her green tea.

"She did. " he said looking at her.

"Congrats, you are an engaged man." she answered biting her croissant.

"Aims, please don't be mad. " he said placing his hands together on the desk. 

"I'm not. I mean it, I'm really happy. For both of you."

Amy grabbed her dishes taking them to the dishwasher.

"I was going to tell you, when she said yes. For real. If she said no I would have felt embarrassed and would have kept to myself because of that. My plan was to tell you about the engagement when it was sealed already." he said standing up and walking towards her.

"You could have at least told me, I could have given you ideas for your proposal.I could have helped."

"Please don't take it personal. You are my sister, I love you. And you know i like it when you trust me with your things, but I also understand if there are some things that you don't want to share with me because they're private. I wanted to do this on my own because i wanted to make something right for myself, not because I wanted to leave you out.But I apologize for hurting your feelings because it was never my intention. I'm deeply sorry. "

Amy saw on his look he was really sorry, it did hurt her he didn't share his plans with her but he had his motives and she respected it. She gave him a hug letting him know there were no hard feelings between them. 

"So, do you have a date on mind?" she asked letting him go.

"No, not yet. Hannah plans asking you to be her bridesmaid, but don't tell her I told her. Act surprised when she asks you. "

"Sure, I will."

"On Saturday we are having dinner with Aunt Beth. You, me, her and Hannah. I've decided to tell her as well, since she's the closest relative we have.I texted her telling her the news and she's excited."

Amy was too excited on knowing she would be a bridesmaid, it would be first time and she would do her best. If she had the chance she would take notes so that way she would know how to plan her own wedding someday. Of course, it was not going to happen soon but it wouldn't hurt to learn a thing or two about planning a wedding.
