Connors Pov

"Oh hey Connor, wait up" I hear Maggie call to me. "What's up Mag's" I ask "Hey wanted to let you know that your daughter is on her way in there must have been an accident at school something to do with the playground. " she says to me. "Thanks ill go wait for her. Please don't tell anyone." I say "no problem." She says as she walks off. I head off to the lounge. My brain was a mess I couldn't wrap my head around what might have happened to my daughter. She my world, her and Sarah of course. I can't let anything happen to her I can't lose her. I slam my hands on my locker multiple times. I'm so angry and distracted that I don't even notice Sarah has walked in. "Connor, Connor Stop she yells as she grabs onto my arms to steady me. "What's going on babe? This is not like you. "She says to me "Emilia is on her way in. something happened on the playground. I should have been there to protect her. I can't lose her. "I say with tears. "hey look at me you can't be her shadow 24/7 it's not good, for her or you." She says. " I know it's just being a single parent is hard. " I say with tears starting to flow. "hey come here you are the best dad around she is so pound of you and so am I. Everything is going to be fine." she says hugging me. Then leaning up to kiss me. "Thanks" I say with a slight smile as I kiss her on her forehead. "Come on lets go wait for her out by the football. Em is going to be just fine." Sarah says to me. We go out and wait for Emilia to arrive. She's here within 10 minutes. I'm a nervous wreck not knowing what happened. "Incoming" Maggie yells. I see Emilia being wheeled in she's unconscious. "What do we got" I ask the Dawson and shay. "Teacher said she fell off the monkey bars. She hit her head fell unconscious. Also her left arm is broken." Shay says. "Emilia, Emi honey can you hear me" I say worried. "Thanks will take it from here." Sarah says we transfer her to the bed and give them back the stretcher. "Let's get her an IV going. Give her some fluids. Also lets get an x-ray of her left arm." I say. They did an x-ray and it shows that its broken in 2 places. "Natalie can you hand me the plaster for the cast." I ask. "Yeah sure" she says as she hands it over. "She doesn't need surgery? Sarah asks. "No her breaks are clean they should heal up just fine with the cast." I say as I wrap her arm into the cast. I try to keep my mind busy with other things so I told the nurse ill check in on her later.

Sarah's pov

April was in Em's room checking on her stats when April heard her start to stir. "Da... Daddy Daddy she cries out." Emily cries. " hey sweetie" April says. " I want my daddy." She cries. "okay ill go find him for you." She says. Just as April was about to leave Reese walked in. "hey pumpkin " I say as I walk up to her bed "Sar where's daddy? I want daddy. Everything hurts." She says with tears. " I know sweetheart . Miss April went to go get daddy." I say as I stroke her hair. About 5 minutes later Connor walks in the room.

Connors Pov

I was upstairs in the surgical department when April came walking in. " hey April what can I do for you?" I ask. "I just wanted to come tell you that Emilia's awake she's asking for you Sarah's with her now." She says to me. "oh great thanks April I appreciate it." I say as I put my paperwork down and head towards the elevator. Once down in the ED I head to Emi's room. "Hey sweetheart, how you feeling? I ask walking over to EM. "My arm and head really hurt." She cries. "I know sweetheart. Daddy's gonna give you something for the pain. " I say I pull out some pain med and she takes them. "daddy will you stay with me. Please" she asks " sure angel" I say as Sarah gets up from the bed. "Sar stay too?" she asks sadly. Sarah looks at her watch and notices her shift is about to end in 10 minutes . "sure pumpkin" she say as she sit in the chair next to the bed. The instant that I lay down next to Em she falls asleep on my chest. "When is your shift over?" I ask Sarah "oh I just have about 10 minutes left." She tells me. "You don't have to stay. " I tell her. "There's nowhere else I wanna be" she says as she leans in to kiss me. "Sorry about our dinner plans tonight I promise I'll make it up to you. Take you out another night." I say "it's okay, dinner could be here and I'd be the happiest person." She says "why would that be?" I ask quietly as not to wake Emi. "Well because I'm with you. It doesn't mater where dinner is as long as we are together." She says to me. "I love you" I say as I pull her in for a kiss careful not to move Em. "I love you too." She says. It was getting late Emi was still sleeping. She missed dinner. She must be hungry. She was still curled up on my lap. She stated to stir. "daddy" she moans. "yes angel " I say rubbing her back. "I'm hungry." She says " I bet you are pumpkin" Sarah says. "what do you want?" I ask "pizza from my favorite place." She says."Alright Pizza it is then." I say I pull out my phone and order. It doesn't take long for the pizza to get here. They called me to say they were out front. I'm about to get out of bed to go get it when Emi grabs my arm. "no daddy don't go please stay." Daddy's gotta go get the pizza" I say "no stay" she says holding on to me for dear life. "its okay I'll go get it Sarah says as she gets up to leave. " thanks babe." I say handing her the money for the guy. I turn my attention back to Emi. " hey sweetheart do you mind telling me what happened today on the playground. She looks down and away from me. I notice something is bothering her. "your teacher said you fell off the monkey bars." I say "no I got pushed some boy pushed me off the monkey bars. He stated yelling at me about not having a mom. He said I didn't deserve to be playing with his friends. I wasn't good enough ." she cries. "It's okay angel he didn't mean it. I'll have a talk with your teacher about this." Say as Sarah walks back in with the pizza, she notices that Emi was crying and stops at the door. I saw her stating there. She mouthed to me "she okay" "yeah I'll tell you about it later tonight." I mouth back. "Who's hungry" she says as she walks in. after we eat pizza Em fell asleep on me again except this time Sarah has now joined us on this small bed.
