They did not start out very well. In fact, Nova and Kevin were formerly known as Kanto and Unova, after the Pokémon regions.

Since Pokémon B&W is centered in the region of Unova, and Ash came from Kanto, and both were mentioned during an episode I saw, I decided to make them human beings and twins. Honestly, I was debating on deleting Kanto, but then I realized NOOOO UNOVA NEEDS HER TWIN so he's still here.

They were this pop star duo called the PokéBeys. The actual concept of combining a Pokémon with a Beyblade is very interesting, but uh... there really wasn't any point to the Pokémon existing in this world in the first place except for the fact that the Alola family were the only Pokémon trainers. So. Idk.

So I gave her boots. And turned her shirt greenish. And tied her hair back. Now she looks a lot more like a wild card blader.

Her brother also went through several changes. Kanto became Kintsugi, named after the Japanese method of repairing broken ceramics with gold.

Eventually, I settled with Kevin as a joke, but then the name Kevin actually worked, so I kept it.

The twins are from Houston, Texas, because there's a huge Vietnamese community there. Of course, being Vietnamese (and one being named Kevin), they are weird, and they are Catholic, two things which are not mutually exclusive but also not correlative. I'm Vietnamese and can testify very closely to this.

Kevin, oddly enough, is the calmer one of the two, though no less chaotic. Nova is very explosive and impulsive but has a terrible sense of direction and often gets lost, especially when traveling. She's missed the plane too many times to count.

They only wear crocs, their beys are named Apollo and Artemis, they somehow learned how to surf despite being from Houston, and they are best friends with Toko and Nika. They're also somehow really close to the new gen Wang Hu Zhong and popularized Monopoly in the halls of Beylin temple by some miracle. Even I, their creator, don't know how. Aside from that, they're personally acquainted with former world champion Makoto Granger, so the chaos isn't entirely unwarranted.
