Leaving was the last thing you wanted to do and saying was another. For a lot people it's hard to say goodbye which is why you decided to write Haley a letter.

It was an hour before you and your family were about to leave. You had sat down on the floor with a pencil and paper in front of you. Saying you were sad about the sudden move would be understatement.

You stared at the blank piece of paper for a couple minutes. You weren't quite sure yet of what to say and even if you knew what to say, you weren't sure of how to write it out. You just sighed and slightly rolled your eyes.

A few more minutes had passed by and then it clicked, you knew what exactly to say. As soon as you began to write, it all spilled out. It was so easy. Word after word, you were grateful for Haley and you wanted her to know that before you left.

As soon as you finished, you went and explained to your parents how you want to stop by her house and drop off the letter. They both shared a look before agreeing. Since Haley's house was on the way out, they had no problem.

Eventually everyone got in the car and it was time to say goodbye to the house. You waved at it as the car drove further and further from it. Soon you realized the house wasn't in your eyesight anymore so you turned back around and watched as the houses passed you.

After about ten minutes of driving, you guys finally reached Haley's house. You had no intention of knocking on it or anything. You just left it there in front of her door, on the step. You soon turned back around and began to head back to the car. You mother smiled at you as your father began to drive away to continue the route to your new home.

As your father made a sharp left turn, you were able to see the backyard of Haley's house and she was there, swinging on a swing. You were pretty sure she noticed you because she was staring right you. As the car drove by, taking you with it, you waved at her and she waved back.

That wave was your goodbye and thank you. Goodbye because you were sure of if you'll ever see her again and thank you because, she was the only one who let you be your complete self — no judgment. She was your only real friend.
