Scene 20: 7 years after

Avalon: Its been seven years... Seven years that we haven't met in a free place...

Rose: Yes, its been seven years and you stayed loyal to him! Its also surprising that you are already the heir... I'm so sad for what happened to Darius.

Valerie: Why him, anyway? You have too many wealthy guys who wants your heart but you never gave them a chance and you told them that someone already owns your fragile heart.

Rose: Oh! Look at her! She's blushing!

Valerie: I heard he had his amnesty and will be in this house any moment.

Avalon: Shut up! I'm not blushing!

Rose: Not blushing? Why don't you look in mirror now to see what we mean?

(All hears a knock and a door opens.)

(Thomas and Victor comes in.)

(Avalon and his friends stand up.)

Avalon: Outosan.. Arthur doko ni desu? What happened to the parole you want him to have?

(Both look at her sadly.)

Avalon: Was it not approved? I know that we saved him from death sentence and he'll be inside the prison cell for almost all his life for killing many people he was forced to kill... Is he still...

(Arthur enters the room, clean shaven and wears a black suit.)

(Avalon stops talking when she finally sees him and joyful tears went falling down his eyes. Both stare for a bit long.)

Thomas: The court recognized the truth that he didn't want to really kill his victims and...

Victor: He has been a good man inside the prison. He had never fought anyone and he is a completely changed man. My son... Was completely saved finally.

Arthur: Victor... No... Father, forgive me.

Victor: It had been seven years, Arthur. You are now given a chance to completely renew your life. Renew your life with Avalon, alright?

Arthur: Yes, father.

Rose: I think we better leave.

Valerie: Yeah, I agree.

Avalon: No... (Dries her tears while Arthur dries his tears, too.) I want to reintroduce him to both of you. Rose and Valerie, he's Arthur Kingsley, my... Beloved... And Arthur, the one with black hair on your right is Rose Grace and the brown-haired lady on your left is Valerie Anne. Both were my bestfriends.

Arthur: I'm happy to see both of you again.

Rose: Reintroduce? Have we really met before?

Valerie: You can't possibly be the gloomy Arthur I have seen in my senior high school year...

Arthur: Can't you even recognize me?

Rose: You don't look like a criminal to me, now.

Valerie: That is so true.

Victor: Son, what are you waiting for?

Arthur: (Kisses Ava.) Let's change locations. Is that alright, ma'am? (Looks at Angela who just came out of her room.)

Angela: Go, Arthur. I know both of you are dreaming for this day so much.

Arthur: Thank you. (Grabs Avalon's hands and drags her out of her house.)

Rose: We'd be leaving, then. (Both exits and Angela returns at her room.)

Thomas: You told him how you had Darius as a son, right? Have you also told him where his ashes were placed?

Victor: Of course, that is where they are headed. Darius is his half-brother. That is true but I loved both their mothers.

Thomas: He completely regained his memories, then.

Victor: No. He can't still remember the woman in his dreams. Those were the eyes that triggered him to ask himself and his lost emotions to return to him completely. It seems, he had a selective amnesia. That was the only memory he did not force to erase. That was a memory he instinctively took out that is why it was so easy for it to return when he saw the same kind eyes.

Thomas: So, who was it?

Victor: The woman that died in that war wasn't his mother but Darius's mother. He never knew who his mother really is, as she died while giving birth to him. When I met Darius's mother, I was already taking care of Arthur as a single father but I had no job at the time until she told me that you were finding a butler. You were just a simple foreigner to me before. I applied and you accepted me. When I heard that she was pregnant with my second son, I was really happy but then, she told me that I have to take our son away and raise him in the mansion where I was working. I didn't really want to but she persuaded me. She voluntarily want to take care of Arthur in my stead and focus on work but I... I never knew that a war would break out sooner! Arthur never knew that the woman who took care of him for very long wasn't even his biological mother!

Thomas: Do you blame yourself for whatever happened?

Victor: (Laughs.) Its enough that Darius helped me regain him back. I will always be your loyal butler, Thomas.

Thomas: Do you think he should know that secret?

Victor: I don't know... Sir...

Thomas: You may be my butler but you are a friend to me. You can stop calling me, 'Sir.'

Victor: No way that I would stop! I may abuse your friendliness if I do!

Thomas: Tell him the truth in the future even it hurts him, understood?

Victor: I suspect that he'll soon realize it anyway... But I agree, thanks.

Scene 21: The Answer is Soon...

Arthur: I don't know how to begin to talk to you now that I'm a free man... and isn't even an assassin anymore. I wonder how this world would welcome me especially if they learn my past. (Flinches.)

Avalon: Its been seven years, Arthur... I understand if you feel uneasy. So, I want to know how you feel for me.

Arthur: I love you but...

Avalon: There's nothing to fear anymore... Arthur...

Arthur: (Pulls her closer to him and hugs her tight while tears fall violently again.) Why fall for an old assassin?

Avalon: I did not fall because I want to. I just felt it and I chose to fall for you and help you.

Arthur: A doctor told me that I acquired PTSD due to my past... The old dark days still haunt me.

Avalon: Then I would still want to stay and help you get better.

Arthur: Please, be patient with me... Please understand me. You changed me so much and because of you, my gray world had color.

Avalon: (Smiles.) Whatever you are in the past, I will accept all of them.

Arthur: Even if you need to keep being wary of me that I might hurt you due to my condition?

Avalon: What are you talking about? A person who loves will sacrifice everything for that person and wouldn't leave him all alone nor fall in-love with another person! I know that you're waiting for very long to have me back.

Arthur: Thank you for staying with me for so many years!

Avalon: Do you know that I became sad when you returned to battle? You were already beginning to rest and heal your wounds but even before you were completely healed, you took your sword and went back to battle but now I'm happy. You'll finally be able to heal your wounds completely with me!

Arthur: Ava.. I know this is a bit abrupt but, will you... marry... me?

Avalon: (Stares at him in a surprised state and afterwards, laughs a bit.) I'll answer it soon... I can't answer you yet... You don't even have a ring with you...

Arthur: Is a ring that important?

Avalon: (Bursts in laughter.) Not that I want a ring but normally a man who asks someone in marriage brings a ring as an offer.

Arthur: I understand... I'll wait for the answer---- (Avalon kisses him suddenly.)

Avalon: I want to know you more before I marry you but of course, sooner or later I'll say yes! For now, the answer for that is soon!

Arthur: Thank you for everything!
