Scene 1: Warehouse

-Begins with the sound of a gunshot and death of a young man. The murderer stands beside the corpse full of remorse and sadness in his eyes. A young woman comes in and she had witnessed the crime. He looks surprised at her for her to see his real way of life.

Arthur: Stay away from me! It would kill me if you stay.

Avalon: I can't and I won't.

Arthur: Aren't you afraid of me?

Avalon: I know you can't kill me. No. I know you won't kill me.

Arthur: You have just witnessed my way of life. You've got no guarantee I won't kill you. I have lived as an assassin all my life after everyone I know in our village died in front of me while they are all trying to escape from a terrible war that swoop our country! The only way for me to live after it is to keep killing for my master who took me away from that war. Killing is my only way of life. Killing is the only thing my master taught me! If you stay with me, you'll be in greater dangers. I live in violence, Avalon! My soul already disappeared from me!

Avalon: I do understand that this is your way of life and I know you don't know how to get away from it but it is not in murder where you'll find what you are truly searching for and what you truly seek. You may have that cold eyes of yours that no one could ever decipher but its different to me. Your cold eyes are screaming for help! Those cold eyes were the eyes of a lonely man, searching and waiting for someone to show him the essence of life and true love.

Arthur: This man that I have just shot, this man that I have just killed, isn't he a very close friend of yours? Are you not angry? Are you not afraid of me? Are you not sad?

Avalon: No matter what I do, I cannot bring him back but it is not imperative that I am not angry nor sad. I want to understand your reason... Arthur, I don't know what I feel right now. He is my friend but I have considered you too, as a friend since we met inside the dormitory. From the first time I have met you, I have already observed how cold your eyes are and I always wonder about the reason why. I cannot decipher it until you showed your true self just now. I can't fear you and be angry. Now is not the time for that! Your eyes are slowly finding the emotions you tried to eliminate! Your eyes were just in deep sorrow and I know you're drowning inside! I know what you are truly searching for! You want to be set free!

Arthur: (dumbfounded and surprised) STAY AWAY FROM ME!!! IF YOU DO STAY WITH ME, YOU'LL JUST DIE! You'll only have a horrible death ahead of you!

Avalon: Even I do follow you, you cannot guarantee my safety anymore! I am a witness of your crime! I know that there are people guarding your every move! I want to stay beside you and you are only unable to disobey since you are forced to assassinate people you don't want to kill! (Tears fall down)

Arthur: (Points the gun to her) Forgive me, I really am sorry, Avalon. I have no choice. If you won't leave now, I have to kill you. I am just an assassin! I am never a human. I eradicated my humanity long ago!

Avalon: (Points the gun closer to her) Metals are cold aren't they? If you really have no choice, pull the trigger but I know that within your cold heart is a screaming voice that wants to get out and who hates the way of life he was forced to enter. Let me help you out of your misery, Arthur! If you truly are just an assassin and ain't human anymore, pull the trigger and kill me! Kill me, now!

Arthur Forester lowers his gun, kneels down in deep sorrow and screams. Avalon goes beside her, takes the gun away from his hand and hugs him to comfort him.

Avalon: Death isn't what you are searching for. Freedom. That is what you need to search. Freedom from the way of life you are plunged in.

Arthur: Then, save me, Avalon!

Scene 2: Bedroom

Avalon: You didn't pull the trigger. Why didn't you kill me?

Arthur: You may be right about me. I can't kill you like any other person I have eradicated before in my entire life. You're different. You're strange. You make me feel something I have never felt before. I thought I have fully erased any emotion inside of me so that I wouldn't be affected by it when I kill.

Avalon: (sits beside him and grins) Emotions aren't easily eradicated and destroyed, Arthur. We're humans and we are entrapped to it forever as long as we are alive. (Laughs) Is love that alien to you? You never felt affection your whole life?

Arthur: If what I feel is love, I am absolutely disobeying and betraying my master that gave me and showed me this way of life. He told me that the only way of life after he saved me from a battle worn country is to kill and if I don't, I die.

Avalon: I'll prove you that he is wrong, Arthur. What am I, to you?

Arthur: (surprised that Avalon is too close to him) Y-You are a beautiful lie, Avalon. You are the only one that calms down and cures my broken soul.

Avalon: Let me stay as a beautiful lie until your reality returns back to you.

Arthur: Even you try to set me free, my past would keep searching for me.

Avalon: Know how to repent for your sins and accept that you are but a sinner. You may have done horrible things in your life but that doesn't mean you can't be forgiven and redeemed!

Arthur: I don't know who God is. I don't know what love is.

Avalon: (kisses him) I am in-love with you but even if you commited horrible crimes, God loves you. What about you?

Arthur: (speechless) I... I'm not sure but... you deserve to know the truth. Your friend forbade me to tell you but I do understand now that I can't let you stay for longer in the dark.

Avalon: Then, I would listen.

Scene 3: Back to the Past (Street.)

Arthur's cellphone ring and when he picks it up, a voice a mysterious woman talks to him about his new mission.

On phone: You have a new mission and it is imperative that you do this right. This is your main mission why you were trained to kill. Kill the heir of White Flower Organization. Do you understand?

Arthur: But that Organization isn't an evil organization! Aren't they an advocate of peace? I thought I'll only kill criminals?

On phone: Are you saying you'll disobey? It must be done.

Arthur: No. (clutches the phone hard) I understand. Who's the heir? Who's my new target?

On phone: Darius Kingsley. Kill him so that you can show your master how loyal you truly are and that you'll kill anyone your master wants to eliminate. To begin your mission, I have found Darius's location and your master have already done all the preparations. The only left to be done is to show yourself as a fake student who'd live in the same dormitory and room with Darius. Gain their trust and kill him at the right moment. Failure is not an option, understood?

Arthur: Yes. I understand and I accept the mission.

Scene 4: Inside Avalon's mansion. (Dinner Table)

Thomas Koizumi: Darius, how is university life?

Darius Kingsley: Easy as always, sir. I am happy that you have taken me as a part of your family.

Thomas Koizumi: You still haven't forgotten the true reason why we took you, wasn't it? You may be a genius boy who had entered law school in an early age of eighteen but your true mission is to be my daughter's decoy in my upcoming banquet where I'll show my daughter to everyone.

Angela Koizumi: Not here, Thomas. I'm begging you, Don't talk about it here. It pains me to see an orphan take that role.

Thomas Koizumi: Angela, our daughter is already growing up and she'll be eighteen, soon. Our Organization is also gaining more and more popularity than before. Most of all, you do know that I fear that one day, our daughter would be in danger just because she is the real heir!

Angela Koizumi: And where is our daughter?

Darius Kingsley: You mustn't worry about her, madam. As long as I accept what Mr. Thomas wanted me to do, I'll do it for your daughter. It is also a responsibility my dead father would want. My father looked up to this family and loved it. As her butler and as her childhood friend, I swore to protect her from anyone who might hurt her.

Angela Koizumi: I repeat, where is she, Darius? Do you know? I don't need you swearing an oath in front of the dinner table.

Darius Kingsley: For now, she's staying in my dormitory as she wanted a closer place to stay after all the work done in her high school life.

Thomas Koizumi: Angela, please understand my reason. It is for our daughter's safety.

Angela Koizumi: (sighs) Up until now, Thomas you are full of your secrets. Are you still afraid of the past?

Thomas Koizumi: It is better to take precautions, Angela. (Stands up)

Angela Koizumi:(smiles) Do you regret that you married me?

Thomas Koizumi: Powerful, you may be, fate haunts anyone it desires to punish.

Angela: (Laughs evilly)

Scene 5: Dormitory

A knock on a door is heard and a sleeping Avalon wakes up.

Avalon: Darius? (opens the door)

Avalon is soon surprised that the man in front of her isn't Darius but a stranger.

Avalon: Who are you?

(Arthur enters the room)

Arthur: A new room mate of a young man whom as I have known, stays here. As I have known, my room mate should have been a male, not a female.

Avalon: (sighs) I did not say what are you. I asked who you are.

Arthur: Answer me. My room mate should have been a male, not a female.

Avalon: Are you talking about Darius? I'm his younger sister. I'm Avalon Koizumi. What about you?

Arthur: (Looks at her eyes and freezes a bit.)

Avalon: What's wrong? You're sweating. What I only did was introduce myself. (Laughs)

Arthur: Ahhh... forgive me. I'll introduce myself, then. My name is Arthur Forester.

Avalon: Why'd you react like that to me? You look surprised.

Arthur: Doesn't it? I expected to meet a man but what I saw was you. Most of all, you remind me of a woman in my past. She looks like you and I thought I have forgotten her.

Avalon: What is she to you?

Arthur: I don't remember my past that much as I decided to forget them. It was only the warmth of her eyes that I remember.

Avalon: I'm sorry.

Arthur: Don't be. I don't deserve those words.

Avalon: That's sad.

Arthur: Is it?

Darius enters his room and sees a stranger inside his dorm.

Darius: Who is he, Avalon?

Avalon: (irritated) I keep telling you to call me AVA!!!

Darius: What's wrong with calling you with your full name, Avalanche?

Avalon: Mou!!! How many times would I say I feel like a man whenever you call me that? And stop with that avalanche joke!

Darius: Alright, alright. I'll stop. Just tell me who he is. He looks strange, Avalon. Its like I could feel a dark aura on him.

Avalon: (Looks at him and whispers) I know. He introduced himself as Arthur Forester and he'll be your room mate starting today.

Darius: Forester? Are you sure he called himself that?

Avalon: What's wrong with it?

Darius: Just, go back home.

Avalon: Mou!! Call me AVA!!! When will you even call me with the name I wanted?

Darius: Just go home. NOW!

Avalon exits.

Darius closes the door and faces Arthur.

Darius: Who are you?

Arthur: Arthur Forester. What about you?

Darius: How'd you know this place?

Arthur: Someone showed me the place and my parents liked it. Also, I'll be soon beginning my college life in this University. Then, the land lord told me that this is the only available room around as you live here alone.

Darius: What is your course?

Arthur: What?

Darius: What do you study?

Arthur: Ahh, right... My course's Education.

Darius: (Laughs)

Arthur: What's funny?

Darius: With that dark aura on you, kids would flee!

Arthur: I'm working on it.

Darius: You really have a funny sense of humor. Well, I'll need to study and so do you. Let's have a good start as room mates, then. I suspected that you may be someone I can't trust.

Arthur: Why would you even think that?

Darius: Its all because you have the same surname that I never heard for so long.

(Lights off)

Scene 6: Dormitory

Darius: Hey, wake up.

Arthur: Why? (Looks at the clock) It's still five o'clock in the morning.

Darius: Of course it is! All of White Flower Organization's properties opens itself early including the school where we study. Don't you know that?

Arthur: (Looks at him dumbfounded) Even White Flower operates a school?

Darius: You don't know that? Did your parents enter you in this dormitory without telling you that everyone who stays here are exclusive to White Flower School's students?

Arthur: Forgive me, I am just new.

Darius: It's fine. Just get up and get ready. Darius Exits with a bag

Arthur: (phone rings) Sigh... What do I do now? (sees only a text message.) Don't do any irrational things. I wish I could do that. (sees a childhood picture of Darius and Avalon and picks it up.)

Scene 7: Streets on a school

With two friends beside her, Avalon sees Arthur sitting on a bench with a small black bag on his arms.

Avalon: Arthur! (Both of his friends look at her.)

Rose: Wait, you know that guy? Isn't he a bit gloomy?

Avalon: Yeah, he seemed a bit gloomy but that makes him mysterious, doesn't it?

Valerie: Who's he?

Avalon: Darius's room mate.

Rose: Really? I thought Darius leaves alone?

Avalon: Well, not anymore. Arthur would now be there to accompany him and I won't need to go there always just to make him happy.

Valerie: Ava, be honest to us. We're your friends, right? Aren't you and Darius having a 'More than friends' status?

Avalon: (Giggles) Never! Why would you even think like that? Darius is just a close friend and most of all, Father's heir. He's also an adopted child, so he's very much my adopted brother.

Valerie: You know, everyone wonders about the reason why your father had chosen an adopted son to be White Flower Organization's heir.

Avalon: (sniffs) I'm fine, Valerie. Darius deserves it more than I do. Father says that if only I was born a boy, he'll give it to me.

Rose: But isn't he just a son of your family's old butler who just recently died?

Arthur: (comes closer to them) Can I interrupt?

Avalon: Just fine. I can introduce you to them.

Arthur: No need. I just want you.

Avalon: Why?

Rose: (Looks at him and smiles) You can talk to her but you must also know that we still have classes and we're only having a break.

Arthur: I understand. Thank you.

Rose: Of course, you seem to want to talk privately to her anyway.

Avalon: Is it really ok?

Valerie: Yeah. See you in class, Ava!

Rose and Valerie exits.

Avalon: Is there any problem?

Arthur: No. Its just that, I want to look at your eyes more. Seeing you makes me more obsessed to remember what I have forced to forget long ago. I don't even know why I'm doing this... staring at your eyes... comforts me.

Avalon: (Blushes) Forced to forget?

Arthur: Yes.

Avalon: Don't you want a psychologist or a psychiatrist to help you?

Arthur: Its already enough if its just you beside me and your eyes looking at me.

Avalon: Your eyes looks troubled by something. I wonder what had happened to you before.

Arthur: That... That is also a forgotten memory. Forgive me if I interrupted your conversation with your friends. Your smile is too perfect that it brings most people closer to you. (smiles) Most of all, just go back to your class before you get late. I should be going, too!

Avalon: Oh! Before I leave, I invite you to come to my party tomorrow at this school's gym. I'll soon be eighteen and my parents wanted to make sure all of the people who helps us and works with us, know me. I'll soon be in a larger world and work in my father's business. Come, ok? It'll be a large banquet with all of the important people I care most!

Arthur: But, I'm a stranger!

Avalon: No! You're not! Since we met in Darius's room, I've always wanted to know you. Come, ok? (Leaves happily) Darius would be there, too!

Arthur: (tears up.) What are these? Why do I feel so strange just now?

Scene 8: Alone inside the Room

Arthur: (Calls his master on phone) Master...

Master: Why did you call?

Arthur: Avalon Koizumi invited me in a banquet. Darius Kingsley would be there. Should I come?

Master: Avalon Koizumi? Who is she?

Arthur: She's a young sister of Thomas Koizumi and it seems she trusted me so quickly. She didn't even suspected me in anything.

Master: You should, Arthur. Kill her, too, if you must. You seem to be changing. You seem happy that she invited you. That's not how I trained you. Killing is your way of life. An assassin is devoid of emotions. Be careful around her. Don't slack off!

Arthur: Forgive me, master but what should I do? Why do I have to kill them? They're good people!

Master: Aren't you displaying disobediance, slave? I gave you my name, power and comfort! Show me your loyalty, Arthur! Poison her! (Ends call)

Arthur clutched his phone hard and looks at the room.

Arthur: (tears up.) Why, her? WHY HER!!!!! Who owns the eyes of the person whom I keep remembering whenever I see her?!

(Lights dim)

Darius enters his room after a few minutes and is surprised to see him looking at the picture where him and Ava were together.

Darius: Why are you looking at it?

Arthur: She's mysterious. She's beautiful and elegant. Don't you agree with me?

Darius: You're more of the mysterious one than her.

Arthur: I can't explain why I feel happy whenever I see her.

Darius: (Looks at him) You're in-love with her!

Arthur: But that's impossible! We've only met twice!

Darius: Love knows no boundaries, Arthur. Its called love at first sight. Well, most people don't believe in it. I don't know about you. Truthfully, Avalon can really make people attached to her so easily just because they saw her beautiful, mesmerizing eyes.

Arthur: But, I can't love her... What about you?

Darius: Nah. I look at her as a younger sibling. We grew up together, you know? Why can't you love her? She's single and she doesn't actually makes friends that much with men. You're different, though. She has too many suitors but its only you that made her so much interested.

Arthur: What should I do?

Darius: Just, let go of those feelings and examine if its actually love and not just curiousity.

Arthur: Thanks.

Scene 9: Banquet

Thomas: (Looks at her daughter) You truly are wonderful, my dear daughter.

Avalon: Really, father? I'm so happy!

Thomas: You know that this is your coming of age ceremony, right?

Avalon: Father?

Thomas: I just can't believe that my daughter's an adult, already!

Avalon: Father! I'm not marrying anyone yet!

Thomas: But I miss my daughter who kept clinging on my arms before.

Avalon: I'm still here, papa!

Thomas: (sniffs) This is the only time you called me papa. I thought it'll be just a distant dream. I have always wanted you to call me, Papa.

Avalon: It's a gift for you.

Thomas: (Holds her hands tighter) Ava, do you want to know the reason why I named you Avalon?

Avalon: Of course, papa. I--- just hate it a bit. I feel like a man when people call me Avalon.

Thomas: Today, you'll treasure your name. If you want to know, face everyone who have gathered here bravely just to see the beauty that you shall shower on everyone's gazes. Go and dance with anyone you like, too.

The father and daughter goes down the staircase and everyone stops what everyone were doing. All of their eyes were just on her.

After that, a slow music begins and the center becomes a dance floor.

(Classical Music begins.)

Darius: Can I be her first dance?

Avalon: (Looks at her father) Should I?

Thomas: Go! You're free to do what you want right now.

Avalon: Thank you father!

Avalon and Darius dances along with others until Arthur comes in and asks for her hands after the last song have ended.

(Faster classical music begins)

Arthur: Can I dance with you?

Darius: (Both stop while others are still dancing) Its ok. (gives her Avalon's hands and both dance along the song.) (Exits.)

Avalon: I'm happy you did come to this banquet.

Arthur: You invited me. Why wouldn't I come?

Avalon: You're right.

Arthur: We've only met twice but you already considered me as a friend.

Avalon: Haha. I was always like that. Your eyes engulf me to come closer to you, Arthur. I want to know why your eyes are like that.

Arthur: You mustn't, Avalon.

Avalon: (Both stop after the music ends) Why?

Arthur: You don't know the true me, Avalon.

Avalon: Just... just call me Ava.

Thomas: Ava, my daughter. Come with me, now.

Avalon: Yes, father. Um, wait for a bit, alright?

Thomas: Ok. (Resumes talking to one of the business men)

Arthur: Just... Just go. I can't explain everything here. Maybe in the future I'll tell you but not now!

Darius: Hey, Avalanche! How long would you stay there?

Avalon: Talk to me again, alright?

Arthur: I understand. (Tears up and clutches his hands.) Avalon... master, why do I feel strange? This isn't me. I shouldn't have felt any emotion! I know nothing but hell! I don't deserve salvation!

Darius: Arthur, can we talk outside this banquet?

Arthur: (Looks at him) Why?

Darius: Nothing. I just want to know some things about you. We don't talk that much in the dormitory.

Scene 10: Garden

Arthur: Why bring me here?

Darius: She wants you to know about how she feels for you.

Arthur: Tell her to stop talking to me. I don't... No, I can't be with her.

Darius: Arthur, she likes you.

Arthur: She... She really makes me remember someone I thought I have forgotten about. (Holds his gun on his pocket) Darius, I'm not sure yet. I'm sorry. (Was about to take his gun when...)

Avalon: Darius! Look! Someone gave us a very expensive wine! It's from France, too. Dad says that it must taste better than any wine we tasted before!

Arthur clutches his gun tightly and stares at Avalon.

Darius: Why are you here?

Avalon: Ne, Darius... Everyone keeps asking me inside why I am not dad's heir and why it's you. I don't understand at all! Dad wouldn't bother to explain either. Was it so bad that I'm born woman?

Arthur leaves Darius but hid behind a pole.

Darius: Of course not! (Opens the wine and pours it to a glass wine, Avalon brought with her.) You need to know the truth, anyway and it seems Arthur have left, too and no one will overhear us. (pauses and breathes air) You truly are the true heir of your family's White Flower Organization, only that your parents wanted me as a decoy.

Avalon: What? Why?

Darius: I can't explain but please do understand your father. I know your face that you seem not to believe it but its true.

Avalon: Why would he even do it? Tell me.

Darius: Can't we have just a new good year? Most of all, it's your birthday!

Avalon: Alright. Let's have a toast, then!

Arthur shows himself up and in surprise that Avalon is truly the heir, he runs closer to them, takes the wine glasses and wine bottle before they even drink the contents. He then throws it to a nearby ground.

Darius: (Hides Avalon behind him) Why did you do that?

Arthur: It... It has poison...

Darius: How'd you know? How sure are you? Have you heard us?

Arthur: I--- I saw someone pour poison on it! I just want to save you!

Darius: That's not making any sense at all!

Arthur: I don't care if you don't believe me! Just thank me I saved your lives!

Darius: I can't thank someone who acted suspicious. You're really strange, Arthur. I wonder why you even got to know my location or knew my room in White Flower's Dormitory. No one exacty knows where my room is!

Arthur: Avalon... Avalon... you believe me, right? I beg you, please believe me!

Avalon: (Smiles and faces Darius) Darius, we don't know if he's lying, alright? Don't judge him so quick. What's better was that we are still alive, more on, it came from an anonymous person.

Darius: You lied to me that your father said that it might be better than any wine we tasted before?

Avalon: Forgive me. I was so excited to taste it. I... I didn't know its meant to poison us! (Darius hugs her.)

Darius: I'll protect you, Avalon, always but that leaves him suspicious enough that I have to investigate more in his whereabouts.

Avalon: But that's not fair for him!

Darius: That's too much of your good nature, Ava!

Avalon: I wonder if that's the only time you'd call me, Ava just because you're angry! (Walks away)

Darius: (Looks at him) I don't know who you are truly but I have to tell you this, I still can't trust you. (Stops Avalon from walking away.) Let's go back, Avalon, your father would begin his speech already.

Avalon: (Bows at Arthur) Please forgive his reaction.

Darius: Avalon, walk now! You've walked away from me and now, you're stopping?

Avalon: Alright! Sorry!

Avalon soon leaves the garden, leaving a haunted Arthur who falls on his knees who can't forget Avalon's eyes.

Arthur: I have only met her a few times... But why... Why do I remember the eyes of someone who looked at me the same as hers which I thought I have forgotten? Who is she? Who is she???!!! If there is any god in this Universe, please spare me from killing the true heir! If my master learns this lie, what would I do? If my master learns the truth behind the lies of White Flower Organization, I won't have a choice but to kill her. What I'm doing right now isn't what an assassin should feel and and act! I should discard my feelings towards her and Darius! I am an assassin! I have no right to disobey what my master tells me to do! I am a slave of eternal punishment! That is what my master have always told me. I can never get out of it!

Scene 11: Banquet Speech- Ava's Coming of Age

Thomas: (Stands in front of the audience and smiles) As you all know, I'm Thomas Koizumi, the founder of White Flower Organization whose only goal to keep as the advocate for peace and the poor. Now, I present to you my beloved daughter who has now come of age and will soon join me in my advocacy. I also wanted to thank the Lord God, Almighty for my daughter's safety and she was never in harm's way. It is a great honor and is very humbling to know that my small Organization that I began more than eighteen years ago. It has grown so much along with my daughter and my adopted son, Darius whose biological father is my very loyal butler who died loyal to my family. Thank you so much to all the political leaders, yes, senators, congressmen and the local government to have supported my cause. I also want to mention my deepest thanks to church leaders, my family and our friends who have also come to witness her become a girl to a lady, and you know what? Along with you, many were asking why I named her, Avalon. (Looks at her daughter and speaks to her while also speaks on the microphone.)

Thomas: Daughter, I derived your name from a legendary island that sheltered a legendary knight to recover from his wounds after a bloody battle. My daughter, you just don't know but you are a shelter that helped me recover from my wounds. When I laid my eyes on you when you were still a baby, all the past pain have recovered and I finally felt happy. (Looks at everyone again, holds his wine cup) Let us toast for my daughter who is now officially an Adult!!! (Applauses)

(While everyone were applauding...)

Arthur: I have to stop seeing her or I'll completely disobey my master... Arthur stood near the exit and left but Avalon saw it even with a big crowd and made her way to follow him but was stopped by Darius.

Darius: Where are you going?

Avalon: Darius, please let me go. Arthur... Arthur just left the banquet, Darius!

Darius: He just want to get back to dorm.

Avalon: Its a lie, right?

Darius: How would I know? Your father still needs you here.

Avalon: Alright, I'll stay.

Darius: Sigh...
