The Cold Truth

Chapter 5

-------------

After I finished eating, I left the room to process everything. My mind once again wandered to my family. How was Andrew? Was Yuumi alright? I remembered the sound of her sobs as she pressed her face to my chest. I walked the corridors if the station, lost in my thoughts. That is, until I came upon a large, steel door. I stopped in front of it, examining the metal gears that wound into the large lock. I reached my fingers forward, wrapping them around the chrome handle. Slowly, I turned it downward, earning a heavy click from the mechanism inside. Then, I curiously pushed the door forward. It was heavy, and a tad bit stubborn, but slid open slowly.

A rush of cool air hit my skin, giving me a slight chill. Beyond the door was a dark tunnel, paved with broken tar. Cars scattered up and down the road, all set in a disarray. I took a step out, feeling the cool pavement under my bare feet. It was a city tunnel, leading out to the city. I jumped as I felt a large hand wrap around my arm. I jerked my head around, only to be captured by those emerald orbs once again. Relaxing a bit, I attempted to pull Damien's hand away. But he stayed latched to me, "Your not going any further." He warned. My heart lurched, as fear mixed with curiosity crept into my thoughts. "Why not? I just want to look around." I whined, childishly. Damien's eyes stayed locked to mine. But, a sudden mischievous smirk slithered onto his face. "You know, the Arethians may have dubbed you diseased, but I doubt that's the case." He cooed, taking a step closer. My heart raced, and my cheeks light up. I studied his face. His smooth jawline rounded his face. His tan complexion blending perfectly with his dark brown hair. Those striking eyes were lined with thick, black lashes. My eyes traveled down to his tight Under Armor shirt. It hugged his toned torso perfectly, causing his abs to mold into the shirt that smoothed into two thick, tattoo-covered arms. My eyes snapped back as he chuckled, "What's the matter, baby girl? Like what you see?" He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me impossible close. I nodded, searching those emerald orbs for salvation. Damien's smirked faded, and a lustful haze grew in his eyes. I felt his large fingers gather under my chin and lift me face closer to his. He was way taller than me, so I had to raise to my toes. I stopped, our lips were inches apart. The warm rush of his breath hit my lips. He smelled of musk and rich cologne. It excited me, a rush of heat shooting through my blood. He must have noticed my excitement, because his grip on my waist tightened. We were chest to chest, nose to nose, groin to groin. What was I thinking? I barley knew him, but I wanted him so badly. One thing was on my mind, and I let a simple command escape my lips, "Kiss me..." He squeezed my body to his, closing impossible space. Damien pressed his lips to mine as I intertwined my finger with his hair. It was a slow, sweet kiss. His lips held so much passion, yet were so gentle. He broke away for air, and his eyes locked with mine again. We were silent for a while, still pressed together, just gazing into each others eyes. I broke the silence, "So... what now...?" He threw his head back and let out a deep seductive laugh, "What do you want, baby girl?" He cooed. He stroked my cheek. I shivered under his touch. "You know exactly what I want." I smirked.

We both jumped and his grip tightened on me as we heard someone clear their throat. We turned to look behind Damien, and there stood Xavier, leaning against the wall. "H-how long have you been there?!" I stammered. He kept his glare locked on Damien, "Long enough. Holly, go back to the dining room. Damien, stay put." He growled. I locked eyes with Damien once more, before pulling out of his arms and walking back the way I came.

I paced the room, wondering what was taking those two so long. Melody and Delilah leaned against the wall, arms crossed and eyes following me. After about ten minutes of this, I couldn't take it. I stopped in my tracks, clenched my fists, and growled at the ground. "What is taking those bas-" I was cut off by the door being flung open. Xavier limped in, followed by Benson who carried Damien. My mouth dropped and my eyes widened as Benson set him on the couch near the door. I tried to run to his side, but Xavier stopped me. "I think he's had enough. You and I need to talk, now. Follow me." I didn't have much of a choice, because his fingers locked roughly around my wrist, yanking me out of the room and down the hall. He was silent, despite my protests. I cursed, screamed, and all together raised all Hell.

We came to a room about three halls away, and he opened the door. He dragged me in and threw me onto the bed inside. "What the hell are y-" I was cut off by his hot mouth crashing to mine. His hand wrapped around my wrists, pinning them down above my head. 'Is he going to rape me?!' I fought back, pulling and kicking. But Xavier was so much stronger than me, I couldn't break free. His lips left my mouth, traveling up to my ear. "Scream, and you die." He warned, digging his nails into my wrists. His lips traveled down as his finger lift my shirt above my chest. He pulled back, taking in my bare breasts. I whimpered, squeezing my eyes shut and clutching the sheets. Fear spread through my blood, wrenching my body.

All I remember after that was opening my eyes. I was standing in the hall outside the room, clad in only my raised shirt and boxers. I looked in the room, seeing Xavier picking himself up off the carpet. As his head raised, I noted the blue liquid dribbling from his nose and lips, running down his chin. My heart pounded, "Y-your an...." He stood, wiping his mouth and locking mischievous eyes with me. "Arethian..." The word left my lips in a small whisper. He smirked, regaining his composure. "And your the human bitch that killed my brother." He took a threatening step closer. "You even dare to conceal his blade." Another step. I was frozen with fear. I recalled Kieran's words, 'You would have made a great concubine.' I shivered, watching Xavier step closer and closer. One word hit my brain, causing my body to lurch into action. 'Run!'
