lxiv. TURNING.
March 16, 2018. | Third Person POV.
Los Angeles, California.

Sedona's alarm blared at six in the morning, piercing through the remnants of sleep as she groaned, her body heavy with fatigue. But there was no room for laziness today. She had a meeting at Roc Nation's office downtown, and if she wanted to make a statement—show them she was serious about this next chapter—she had to be on point.

She slipped out of bed, stretching her limbs as she tried to shake off the exhaustion. The house was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the usual chaos whenever Kendrick or her friends were around. He'd left for a late business meeting the night before, right after she fell asleep and the emptiness felt heavy, lingering in the air. She sighed, shaking off the feeling as she padded to the bathroom, her bare feet cold against the hardwood floors.

By seven, she was dressed in a tailored blazer, high-waisted pants, and a silk blouse, her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail. Professional but still her, with gold hoops and a pair of Louboutin heels for good measure.

Monica was already waiting downstairs, scrolling through her phone as she sipped a latte. "You ready?" She asked, looking up as Sedona descended the staircase.

"Born ready," Sedona replied, grabbing her purse and sunglasses. "Let's do this."

The drive to Roc Nation's office was filled with a rundown of the agenda. Monica listed off the names of the execs who'd be in attendance, their roles, and what to expect from each of them. Sedona listened intently, mentally preparing herself. She couldn't afford to be caught off guard.

They arrived at the skyscraper in downtown L.A., its glass exterior reflecting the morning sun. The lobby was buzzing with activity, industry people brushing shoulders as they moved through the space with purpose. Sedona took a deep breath, straightened her blazer, and made her way to the elevator.

Once on the executive floor, they were greeted by Kendra, her A&R, who was all smiles. "Hey superstar," Kendra said, pulling Sedona into a hug. "You ready for this?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," Sedona replied, exhaling slowly.

They walked into the conference room where the label executives were already seated. Sedona exchanged firm handshakes and polite smiles before taking her seat at the head of the table.

"First off, congrats on the European leg of the DAMN. tour," one of the execs started. "The numbers are insane, especially considering the minor setback."

Sedona managed a sheepish smile. "Yeah, that food poisoning tried to take me out, but I bounced back."

A round of chuckles echoed around the room. Kendra chimed in, "And that just shows your dedication. You powered through, and the fans loved it. That's the kind of resilience we need to capitalize on for the album rollout."

Sedona nodded, straightening her posture. "Speaking of which, the album is officially titled Ugh, Not Again. It's bold, it's honest, and it's me."

The executives exchanged nods of approval. "Love the title. It's relatable and memorable," one of them noted. "We want to make sure the photoshoot reflects that. We're thinking within the next two weeks. Can you do that?"

"I'm good for it," Sedona confirmed. "Just let me know the date, and I'll be there."

They moved on to discussing the album rollout, the excitement in the room palpable as they mapped out strategies. The release date was set for April 20th, perfectly timed during Coachella week.

"Performing at Coachella on the 13th through the 15th is prime exposure," An exec pointed out. "We're thinking you can preview a few tracks from the album. Get the buzz going before the drop."

Sedona's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "I like that. It'll give people a taste without giving too much away."

"And," Kendra added, a playful smile dancing on her lips, "We were thinking about a surprise performance with SZA. We know you two have a collab that's been kept under wraps—Scorsese Baby Daddy, right?"

Sedona's eyes widened, momentarily stunned. "I forgot all about that," She admitted, laughing as the memories came rushing back. "We made that over a year ago. We were just having fun. I didn't think it would ever see the light of day."

"Well, we think it has potential," One of the executives said. "It's fun, it's unexpected, and with the buzz around both of you, it could be a moment."

Sedona leaned back, nodding thoughtfully. "I'm down for it. Solana and I always make magic together. And a surprise performance? That's a statement."

The energy in the room shifted, the excitement building as they continued to map out the rollout. But then an exec cleared his throat, glancing at his notes. "There's also Love Lies, the track you did with Marco back in January. We could potentially push that, maybe as a bonus track or—"

Sedona's expression didn't falter, but her voice was cool, collected. "I'm not interested in promoting that song. It was a one-off, and I've moved on from that chapter."

An awkward silence followed before the exec quickly nodded. "Understood. We'll focus on the album and the Coachella performance then."

Monica shot her a knowing look, one that Sedona returned with a subtle nod. She didn't care about Love Lies, and she wasn't about to let it overshadow the work she was putting into this new album.

As the meeting continued, Sedona's confidence grew. She was no longer the newcomer trying to prove herself. She was a seasoned artist, commanding respect with every word.

The meeting wrapped up with a plan firmly in place, everyone buzzing with anticipation for what was to come. As they exited the conference room, Kendra fell into step beside her. "You handled that like a boss," She whispered.

Sedona smirked, her confidence unwavering. "I'm not playing around this time. They're gonna know who I am."

Kendra's eyes gleamed with pride. "Oh, they already do. But after this album? They'll never forget."

Standing by the glass windows, Sedona looked out at the sprawling city below. This was her moment—her chance to reclaim her story. And she wasn't about to let anyone else write it for her.

She turned back to Monica, her determination evident. "Let's make magic."

Monica grinned. "You already know."

They walked out of the building, side by side, ready to take on whatever came next.

After leaving the Roc Nation office, Sedona felt a rush of adrenaline. The meeting had gone better than she could've hoped, and the album rollout was officially in motion. As Monica drove them back toward the house, Sedona's mind wandered to Tyler. It had been a minute since she'd seen him, and she'd been meaning to pull up on him unannounced—catch him slipping just for fun.

"Drop me off at Tyler's," Sedona said suddenly, a mischievous glint in her eye.

Monica raised an eyebrow. "You sure? He ain't ready for that today."

"Exactly," Sedona replied with a grin. "I'll catch an Uber home later."

They pulled up to Tyler's gated property, the place as unassuming as ever despite its size. Sedona hopped out, thanking Monica before making her way to the door. She didn't bother knocking. She knew the code.

Walking inside, she heard muffled voices and laughter from deeper in the house. Following the sound, she rounded the corner and found Tyler lounging on the couch, his phone in his hand. He looked up, his face dropping as his eyes met hers.

Sedona folded her arms, her expression dead serious. "You raggedy ass bitch. You raggedy ass bitch. All that shit you had to say via text messages and now you're quiet as a mouse, nigga."

Tyler's jaw dropped. "Oh, hell no. You not about to come in here and—"

"Nah, fuck you, nigga," Sedona shot back, cutting him off. "You had so much to say when I was in Europe. 'Oh, you Hollywood now,' 'Oh, you don't know nobody no more,' all that mess. Now look at you. Speechless."

Tyler narrowed his eyes, shaking his head as he sat up. "I only said that because you been ghost, nigga. Not even a 'what's good?' or nothing. You forgot about me and the squad, huh?"

Sedona scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I didn't forget about shit. I've been working. Sorry I ain't got time to sit around and play Fortnite with you like old times."

Tyler stood up, crossing his arms as he looked down at her. "You acting brand new, Sedona. You let that European tour get to your head."

"And you acting like a bitter baby mama," She shot back, her face breaking into a grin. "Mad 'cause I got a life."

They stared each other down, neither one willing to back down, before Tyler's façade cracked, his lips curling into a smile. Sedona laughed, throwing her arms around him. "Hi, my friend."

Tyler hugged her back, chuckling. "You're so fucking dramatic. Come in here, yelling and shit."

"You know you missed me," Sedona teased as she pulled away, kicking off her shoes before following him further into the house.

Tyler led her to the living room, where the familiar faces of Travis, Jasper, Lionel, and a couple more of the Odd Future crew were sprawled out on the couches. As soon as they saw her, their eyes widened in shock.

"Ayo, what the fuck?!" Jasper exclaimed, nearly dropping his drink. "This can't be real. Sedona?!"

Sedona put her hands on her hips, feigning offense. "Why the hell you sound so surprised? Damn, I know I've been busy but y'all act like I died or something."

Travis shook his head, standing up to give her a hug. "Girl, we thought you was too famous to mess with us now."

She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Y'all are idiots. I was working. Can't be a superstar and a bum at the same time."

Lionel smirked, leaning back with his arms crossed. "Oh, so you a superstar now? That what we callin' it?"

"Check the charts, nigga," She fired back, her playful tone making them all laugh. "And the tour reviews. I'm kind of a big deal."

Jasper shook his head, laughing. "Man, she hasn't changed at all."

"And I never will. Y'all got snacks or what?"

Tyler rolled his eyes, already heading to the kitchen. "Greedy ass."

She made herself comfortable on the couch, slipping right back into the old dynamic. The banter was relentless, the energy chaotic as ever. They went back and forth, taking shots at each other and reminiscing about old times.

"So, Sedona," Travis started, a knowing grin on his face, "How's being incognito lately. Acting like you on house arrest or something."

Sedona narrowed her eyes, shaking her head. "Y'all still messy as hell, I see. I've been fine thanks for asking just busy, but as for today, I'm yours. Let's do something."

Jasper leaned forward, rubbing his hands together. "You sure about that? 'Cause I got ideas."

"Bad ideas," Lionel corrected, earning a middle finger from Jasper.

Sedona laughed, leaning back as she took it all in. She didn't realize how much she missed this—missed them. With the album rollout looming and the tour memories still fresh, it felt good to be grounded. To be home.

"Alright," She said, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Let's get into some trouble."

Tyler reappeared from the kitchen, tossing a bag of chips at Sedona's head. She caught it with ease, tearing it open without missing a beat.

"Damn, greedy ass," Tyler teased, plopping down beside her. "You act like you don't got food at home."

Sedona smirked, popping a chip in her mouth. "Yeah, but it don't taste as good as your shit. Plus, it's better when it's free."

Travis shook his head, laughing. "Famous as hell but still stealing snacks like a broke college student."

"Y'all still stupid as hell, I see," Sedona shot back. "What we doing today? I'm here. I'm ready."

Lionel's eyes lit up. "Yo, we should go to the studio later, but first..." He looked at Sedona, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "You still got that prank call magic?"

Sedona's eyes gleamed. "Oh, absolutely. Who we getting?"

Tyler's laugh was almost evil. "I got a list. Start with Rocky."

Sedona wasted no time, pulling out her phone and putting it on speaker. The room fell silent as the dial tone buzzed, anticipation thick in the air.

"Yo?" ASAP Rocky's smooth voice answered.

Sedona deepened her voice, masking it with a serious tone. "Hello, this is the Beverly Hills Police Department. We've received multiple noise complaints regarding your residence. We're gonna need you to come down to the station to answer some questions."

A beat of silence. Then—"Man, quit playing with me."

Sedona kept her composure. "Sir, this is not a joke. If you refuse to cooperate, we'll have to escalate this matter."

Tyler was doubled over, tears in his eyes as he tried to stay quiet. Lionel was biting his fist to keep from laughing.

Rocky hesitated, sounding genuinely concerned. "Yo... is this for real? I was barely home yesterday!"

Sedona couldn't hold it any longer, her laughter bursting through. "Nigga, you dumb as hell!"

There was another pause before Rocky's voice came back, louder this time. "Yo, fuck y'all! I should've known! Sedona, I'mma get you back for this!"

She wiped a tear from her eye, struggling to breathe. "I had you shook, though!"

"Man, whatever. You lucky I know what kinda shit you be on," Rocky laughed before hanging up.

Jasper nearly fell off the couch, clutching his stomach. "He was ready to turn himself in!"

Sedona grinned, the thrill of the prank lighting her up. "Who's next?"

Travis didn't hesitate. "Syd. Hit her with the 'you won a cruise' shit."

Sedona composed herself, dialing Syd's number. When she picked up, Sedona put on her best over-the-top sales voice. "Congratulations! You've just won a luxury cruise to the Bahamas! All expenses paid!"

Syd's confusion was palpable. "...What?"

"That's right! You were randomly selected as our grand prize winner! All we need is your credit card information to secure your spot!"

There was a pause before Syd deadpanned, "Sedona, I know it's you. You're the only one who would try some dumb shit like this."

The whole room lost it, Tyler falling backward onto the floor as he howled with laughter. Sedona held her chest, shaking her head. "You too damn smart, Syd. I'll get you next time."

Syd's laughter echoed through the phone. "Yeah, good luck with that. Say hi to everybody for me." She hung up, still chuckling.

Lionel clapped his hands, wiping his face. "I forgot how funny this shit is. Who's next? We gotta keep this going!"

They went down the list, calling people from Kali Uchis to Vince Staples, each prank getting more ridiculous than the last. Some fell for it, others figured it out almost immediately, but every call ended in laughter.

By the time they finished, Sedona's stomach hurt from laughing so hard. She wiped a tear from her eye, catching her breath. "Damn, I missed this."

Tyler leaned back, grinning wide. "You need to visit more. You bring the chaos we need."

Sedona threw a chip at him, laughing. "Chaos? Nigga, this was your idea!"

They kept going back and forth, the energy buzzing with that unmistakable vibe only old friends could create. Sedona felt herself sink deeper into the couch, fully at ease. She was home.

Sedona eyed Tyler's phone, which was carelessly tossed on the armrest beside him as he animatedly told a story about almost getting kicked out of a bougie restaurant. A wicked idea formed, and she moved swiftly, snatching it before he even noticed.

"Yo, where the hell my phone go?" Tyler's head whipped around, confusion written all over his face.

Sedona smirked, holding it up. "Oh, you mean this?"

His eyes widened. "Oh, you trifling. Give it back."

"Nah, nigga. It's mine now." Before he could snatch it back, she darted up, running to the other side of the room as she unlocked the phone.

"Yo, she got the code?" Travis looked scandalized. "She dangerous."

Sedona grinned, her fingers flying as she opened Instagram and hit the "Go Live" button. In seconds, the comments flooded in.

@ilovetyler: YO HE LIVE?!
@koolkidzclub: I KNEW HE WASN'T DEAD
@fashionkilla: WHO THE HELL HOLDING THE PHONE LIKE THAT?

Sedona put on her most serious face, holding the phone up to her. "Yeah, I stole his phone for the next few minutes. What y'all wanna know? I'm answering all the questions today. Let's air this nigga's secrets out."

The comments went wild.

@tylerstan1: OMG SEDONA?!
@oddfuture4life: NAH THIS THE LINK UP WE NEEDED
@asapforever: WHAT THAT NIGGA SMELL LIKE?

Sedona squinted at the screen. "What he smell like? Corn chips and fake designer cologne."

Tyler's voice boomed from behind her. "YO! Stop lying on my name!" He lunged, but she dodged him, cackling as she ran circles around the room.

@lionelrichest: SHE TOO FAST LMAO
@bastardboy: THIS THE CONTENT WE PAY FOR

Sedona turned the camera to Tyler, who looked like he was about to pop a vein. "Here's the thing they don't tell you about Tyler: he's actually a 45-year-old man trapped in a 20-something-year-old body. Nigga listens to Luther Vandross before bed."

Tyler's mouth fell open. "Why you telling my business like that?!"

"'Cause it's my live now!" Sedona flipped the camera back to herself. "Ask me anything. I got stories for days."

The questions poured in.

@odd2thefuture: HOW LONG Y'ALL BEEN FRIENDS?
@nostalgicwaves: WHO WINS IN A ROAST BATTLE?
@cherrybombshell: EVER THOUGHT ABOUT HAVING ANOTHER COLLAB?

Sedona answered each one, quick-witted and hilarious, spilling just enough tea to keep the fans entertained without giving away too much. "Who wins in a roast battle? Me, every time. Tyler weak. He got two jokes on rotation."

Tyler finally tackled her, wrapping his arms around her waist as he tried to wrestle his phone back. "End the live, Sedona!"

She squealed, holding the phone high. "They deserve to know the truth!" She barely got the words out through her laughter.

@ilovetyler: NOT THE WWE TACKLE
@wolfgangfan: THIS TOO FUNNY, PLS DON'T END IT
@imthatbastard: I'M CRYING

Tyler managed to get his fingers on the phone, the screen shaking wildly as they struggled. "You petty as hell, Sedona! Give me my shit back!"

She finally let go, falling back onto the couch, gasping for breath. Tyler stopped the live, tossing his phone onto the table before turning to her, feigning anger. "You really wild for that."

Sedona wiped a tear from her eye. "You needed a little excitement in your day. You're welcome."

He shook his head, but a smile broke through. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. But you wait 'til I get you back. This war now."

She sat up, eyes gleaming. "Oh, I'm ready, nigga. Bring it."

Travis and Lionel were still laughing, tears streaming down their faces. "Y'all stupid as hell," Lionel said, shaking his head. "But this was the best day I've had in a minute."

Sedona smiled, looking around the room at her friends, the energy buzzing with that electric, chaotic vibe only they could create. "Yeah... it really was."

Just as the laughter began to die down, Tyler's phone buzzed with notifications, lighting up like a Christmas tree. He groaned, scrolling through the flood of comments and messages. "Yo, my fans wildin'. They asking if I really listen to Luther before bed."

Sedona burst out laughing, doubling over. "You do! I ain't lie!"

Tyler threw a pillow at her, which she dodged effortlessly. "Man, you talk too damn much. You know how hard it is to keep an air of mystery? Now they think I'm some old head reminiscing about the 80s every night."

Sedona shrugged, leaning back on the couch. "If the orthopedic shoe fits..."

Travis howled, slapping his knee. "She on your head today, bro. Just take the L."

Tyler shook his head but laughed anyway, the sound filling the room. "A'ight, a'ight. Bet. You won today, but I'm coming for you." He pointed at Sedona. "Your ass better watch your back."

"I ain't never scared," She shot back, a playful gleam in her eye.

The doorbell rang, interrupting their banter. Tyler stood up, rubbing his hands together. "Oh, y'all ain't ready. I ordered food for everybody. You know how I do. Big host energy."

Sedona rolled her eyes. "Oh, we 'bout to eat good? You really tryna impress me, huh?"

"Please, don't nobody care about you like that," Tyler fired back, heading to the door.

Sedona sank into the couch, feeling at ease. It was nice to have a moment to just be herself, away from the pressures and the chaos of her career. Here, she was just Sedona, the loud-mouthed friend who stole phones and roasted Tyler in front of thousands of his fans.

Lionel leaned back, crossing his arms behind his head. "The streets are hungry for that album you're so quiet about. Can't stop teasing."

She smiled, glancing over. "Soon. I been cooking up some heat. But you know how it is—gotta wait for all good things."

Travis raised an eyebrow. "Wait? Girl, you could drop a voice memo, and it'd go platinum."

Sedona laughed. "Y'all too much. But I appreciate it."

Tyler returned, arms laden with bags of takeout. "Food's here! Y'all better get it before I eat everything."

They all rushed to the kitchen, battling over the containers. Sedona managed to snag a box of fries before Travis nearly took her out reaching for a burger. "Back up, nigga! I'm hungry!"

Travis grinned. "Damn, you wildin' over some fries?"

She stuck her tongue out. "Hell yeah. Don't play with my food."

They ate around the coffee table, jokes flying back and forth. The energy was electric, the laughter constant. Tyler played some unreleased tracks, the beat specifically letting them vibe to his latest creations. Sedona bobbed her head, impressed as always by his creativity.

"This one's hard," She admitted, tapping her fingers against her thigh. "You went crazy on this beat."

Tyler smirked, leaning back with his arms crossed. "You already know."

The food was gone faster than expected, wrappers and containers littering the table. Sedona leaned back, patting her stomach. "Damn, I'm stuffed. I might just sleep here."

Tyler raised an eyebrow. "Who said you could?"

She glared at him. "Nigga, I will lock you out your own crib."

Travis cackled, nearly falling off the couch. "She really don't respect you in your own house."

Tyler shook his head, trying to look annoyed but failing miserably. "Y'all ungrateful. I should've let you starve."

Sedona yawned, stretching her arms above her head. "For real though, I needed this. Y'all the best."

Lionel grinned. "Aw, she getting sentimental. Somebody record this."

Sedona shot him the middle finger. "See, I try to be nice, and this is what I get."

Tyler laughed, his expression softening. "Nah, but for real, glad you came through, Sedona. We missed you 'round here."

A warm feeling spread through her chest. It felt good to be missed, to be needed somewhere outside of the spotlight. "Yeah... I missed y'all too."

They stayed up for hours, the conversation flowing naturally. It was like no time had passed at all. Sedona soaked it all in, knowing moments like this were rare. She promised herself she'd make time for them more often.

As the night wore on, they eventually started to crash, one by one, until it was just her and Tyler still awake. He looked over at her, a genuine smile on his face. "You good?"

Sedona nodded, resting her head on the back of the couch. "Yeah... I'm good. Better than I've been in a while."

Tyler leaned back, satisfied. "Good. You deserve that."

They sat in comfortable silence, the hum of the city outside the window a quiet reminder that life kept moving. But for tonight, everything was perfect, just as it was.

The room had finally settled into a sleepy quiet, the earlier chaos giving way to a comfortable stillness. Empty takeout containers were scattered across the coffee table, and faint music played from Tyler's speaker, just loud enough to fill the silence.

Sedona leaned back, letting her body sink into the couch as she scrolled through her phone, ordering an Uber. She had an early morning ahead of her, and as much as she didn't want to leave, she knew she needed to get back.

Tyler sat across from her, his legs stretched out as he lazily checked his notifications. He looked up, watching her with a curious expression. "You know," He started, his voice low, thoughtful, "You look... happy."

Sedona glanced up from her phone, meeting his gaze. "What you mean?"

Tyler tilted his head, studying her face. "I don't know. You just... you glowing and shit. Like, for real. You looking like the fairy godmother done hit you with everything good in life."

Sedona blinked, caught off guard. "You tryna say I looked busted before?"

Tyler snorted, shaking his head. "Nah, dummy. You always been fine. I'm just saying... you look different. Like, happier than I've ever seen you."

She fell quiet, his words sinking in. It was true—she did feel different. Lighter. Freer. Like the weight she'd been carrying for so long was finally starting to lift. And it wasn't just her career or her success. It was the people she had around her. It was Kendrick. It was her family. It was the life she was building, one filled with love and laughter and moments like this.

"I am happy," She admitted softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I really am."

Tyler's expression softened, a small smile playing at his lips. "Good. You deserve that shit. More than anybody I know."

A lump formed in her throat, and she swallowed it down, her chest tightening. She looked away, blinking back the tears that threatened to fall. "Damn, Tyler. Why you tryna make me cry?"

He laughed, leaning back against the armrest. "Nah, don't do that emotional shit. I can't handle that. I'll kick you out my house real quick."

Sedona laughed, wiping at her eyes. "Nigga, please. I'll just use your spare key."

They fell into a comfortable silence, the air heavy with unspoken words. Tyler watched her for a moment longer, his face contemplative. "I'm proud of you, Sedona. Real talk. You made it out. You made it big. And you still the same annoying ass girl I met all them years ago."

She smiled, her heart swelling. "Wouldn't be me if I wasn't."

Tyler shook his head, a fond look in his eyes. "Yeah... I'm glad you here. Don't be a stranger, a'ight?"

Sedona looked around the room, at the faces of the people she'd grown up with, the ones who'd been there long before the fame and the money. It felt like home. "Yeah. I won't be."

Tyler nodded, satisfied. "Good. 'Cause if you do, I'm pulling up on your ass. No warnings."

She laughed, her heart feeling full. "I'd expect nothing less."

Her phone buzzed, a notification flashing across the screen. "Uber's outside," She said, slipping it into her pocket as she stood up, stretching her arms over her head.

"Already?" Tyler frowned, glancing at the time. "You just got here."

"Yeah, but I got shit to do in the morning," She teased, pulling him into a hug. "Don't act like you gonna miss me or nothing."

He scoffed, hugging her back. "Ain't nobody gonna miss your annoying ass." But his arms tightened just a little before he let her go.

Sedona grabbed her bag, slipping on her shoes. She turned back, taking in the familiar room, the faces she knew better than her own. "Y'all be good," She called out, waving to the rest of the crew.

Travis shot her a salute. "Go be famous and shit. We'll be here when you come back down to Earth."

Sedona rolled her eyes, laughing. "Shut up."

Tyler followed her to the door, his hands shoved in his pockets. He hesitated before speaking, his voice softer. "You should come around more often."

She looked at him, her chest tightening. "Yeah. I know."

He nodded, his expression serious. "But besides all that. Keep being happy, a'ight? You deserve that shit."

"I will," She promised, her voice steady. "I really will."

She pulled the door open, stepping out into the night. But before she left, she glanced back at him, a soft smile on her lips. "I'll see you around, Ty."

"Yeah. You better."

And with that, she made her way to the waiting car, the glow of the streetlights washing over her. She felt lighter, freer, like the weight she'd been carrying for so long was finally starting to lift.

She was happy. She was at peace. And she was exactly where she was meant to be.
