You quietly sit in the armory loading guns with amo, getting them ready for anything and everything. You and sighed at the boring task. You set down the last gun and sit on the table looking around the room for something interesting. Your eyes lay upon a man in green and gray armor.

"Whatchya starin at?" You flinch at the sudden question asked by your friend Felix that walked into the room. His lunch break must have finished.

"Whos that?" You ask interested.

Felix laughs "Him? Thats Locus. Id stay away from him he's grouchy and mean."

You look back at the man. He doesn't look mean... and I don't really care he's kinda cute.

"Yo are you coming to diner tonight with the rest of us by the way?" Felix asked.

"Yeah." You said kind of half hearted still watching Locus stack boxes onto shelves.

Felix roles his eyes and waves a hand in front of your face "(Y/N)??? Hellloo anyone in there?"

You snap back " what oh yeah hi"

He laughs " Im serious (Y/N) stay away from him."

"Yeah yeah.." you wave him off.

"Ill see you tonight " Felix says walking out of the room leaving you with an idea in your head.

You slide off the table and straighten your shirt before walking up to Locus.

"Ehem" you tap his broad shoulder.

He turns around and looks at you like he was waiting for something important because you were interrupting his work or something.

You feel the words in your throat get cought by the way he was looking at you.

" yes?" He asks with a non emotional tone.

You wake yourself up mentally and remembered what you came over here for "I um was wondering if you wanted to come with me and a few other coworkers to dinner tonight?"

He stayed silent for a while like he was contemplating something in his mind "maybe"

Maybe really. I mean its better than no. You told yourself " Cool. Ill see you there.. or not. " you smiled and walked away with hopes high.

That night you dressed extra nice well as nice as you could being a mercenary limited you. You stood extra tall as you walked into the army's café.

" Hey ( Y/N)! Wow you look amazing. You didnt dress up this nice just for me now did you?" Felix asked with a smirk.

You rolled your eyes " In your dreams" you sat down next to Felix and another mercenary.

The whole night your group of friends laughed at inside jokes and talked like they normally did. Yet you stayed quite watching the door telling yourself over and over again. Maybe he'll come but when the clock struck 12 and all your friends sat up to leave you felt your heart sink as the truth stabbed you. Your hopes crushed like a bowling pin to a bowling ball. You said bye quickly to your friends who gave you worried looks and ran away feeling tears sting at your eyes. You weren't only sad you were mad... why would he do this.

The next day you showed up to work like normal and walked to the 'to do board' to see what you had to do today. Your lips sank into a frown as you see your job.

Flash bang shipment unloading.

It wasn't that the job was hard or boring. It was that you needed a special key to open the truck zone that only the decks commander had and to your luck Locus happened to be that commander. You clenched your teeth and forced an at least monotone question of "Will you open the gate for me" to Locus. You didn't even say please you were surprised you even said anything at all.

He nodded not making eye contact which pissed you off even more. First he stood you up second he doesn't even say sorry or anything after. Jerk. Felix was right you shouldn't have gave him a chance.

Locus stuck his key into the lock and stopped before unlocking it and looked at you with a sigh " Im sorry I didnt show up."

You look at him with surprise and look away again angrily.

"Look I just have this thing, dont think dating co workers is a good idea. It never works." He says letting go of the key and turning around fully to talk to you.

You role your eyes and just as your about to say Could you just open the door he opens his mouth again.

"Will you go out with me?" He asks closing his eyes like a second voice in his head smacked reality into his head like what the heck bro she's cute just ask her out what are you doing moron.

You look at him dumbfounded. Did he seriously just say I don't date then ask you out? You open your mouth again but were interrupted with him answering your question like he could read your mind.

"Yes I realize what I said. Im a moron do you want to go out or not."

Your angry face slowly turns into a smile as you nod yes.

He relaxes his expression and smiles.

Oh my god a smile! So cute. You giggle to yourself.

He was going to take some work but you could feel a strong connection starting with you two. It was just some tough love you would have to get used too.
