Chapter 3: Christmas Calling

AN: The whole story will be in third person just to let y'all know. Enjoy!

The sky outside was becoming darker and darker as time went by. Chisato and Takina were sitting on the couch together watching a romantic comedy about a woman finding love during Christmas time.

The young blonde was ecstatic to find one of her favorite channels to be playing Christmas movies. 'Mallhark' was the silly name of the channel; she would giggle simply by the thought of saying the channel name out loud. She loved it.

Takina, on the other hand, was not paying any attention towards the television; she had other things on her mind. The black-hair's thoughts were racing through a race track, traveling around in a circle. No wonder it was hard for her to concentrate on the movie.

All she could think about was the story Chisato told her and... her heart. The scar on Chisato's chest flashed through her head like a bullet.

The young blonde continued to hold in her laughter during a certain scene. The woman and the man were casually baking cookies together, but suddenly, they ended up in a flour war. They flung flour at each other like little children throwing dirt at each other on a community playground.

It was very cheesy, but that is how Chisato liked it. She could smell the strong cheddar whiffing in her nose, making her hungry for more movies.

Takina could hear Chisato let out an inhuman cackle which could not be held much longer in her system. "Ahaha! She... she smacked him with flour!"

On instinct, snapping out of her thoughts for the first time in a while, Takina darted her eyes at her girlfriend, checking to see if she was laughing or crying. At this point, the black-haired inferred both.

The younger girl examined Chisato's facial features for any sort of confirmation of what she was feeling; it was most definitely a positive one.

What seemed a bit off from the blonde's behavior was usually when a person laughs to the point of no return they hold their stomach, but the blonde was not doing that. Takina watched as her girlfriend consciously held the fabric of the shirt near the center of her chest.

This worried the black-hair's insides, feeling her stomach tighten with nervousness. Does it hurt? Does it hurt to laugh? Takina's thoughts clouded with questions, unaware of her hands inching forward towards... Chisato.

Gently, she cupped her hand around Chisato's wrist. She unknowingly pulled back the blonde's hand away from her chest. This reaction of her's caused the blonde to immediately stop her laughing and look at Takina directly.

Takina stared back at her with worry, not releasing her grip from Chisato's wrist. "Takina? Is everything okay?" Chisato's face was much more puzzled compared to her partner's; she had no idea what was going on.

Breathing heavily with no answer, the younger girl swiftly changed positions to where her head was resting on the older girl's chest, thighs making contact with one another.

The sound of the television was heard by Takina in her left ear and the sound of Chisato's heartbeat was heard in her right ear. It was a normal heartbeat.

Flabbergasted by the sudden touch, the blonde's face grew exponentially red from the soft feeling of her girlfriend's skin. Since the black-haired was wearing shorts it was much more bare to the touch against her own pants, making her insides inflame.

"Uh, T-Takina?" The blonde stuttered out, now wrapping her arms around her girlfriend's shoulder.

Ba-dum. Takina lingered against Chisato's chest; she could feel the pulse of her heart picking up speed, but thankfully it was not becoming irregular. Her heart was beating gradually.

Ba-dum. The older girl debated on giving into the actions of Takina, judging from the uncanny silence absorbing both of them. Same goes for the younger girl, she decided to linger on, so the mood would not drift into awkwardness.

Ba-dum. "Your... scar... does it... hurt?" Eventually, the black-haired spoke up in what she felt was the right time. Chisato looked down upon her head which was looking back at her. "W-What do you mean?"

"When you were laughing you were grabbing your chest and... it looked like you were hurting," Takina grabbed what she could of Chisato's shirt, wrinkling it in her hand.

The blonde perked up to what she said. She was surprised Takina was even paying attention to her, since she has been lost in her thoughts ever since they walked in.

"Oh, that," the blonde chuckled a bit. "My chest wasn't hurting, I was grabbing it from a force of habit. Whenever I'm feeling joyful I hold my hand against my heart to signify my heart is happy."

"Ah..." the black-haired said with embarrassment. Once hearing this, she propped herself away from Chisato, so she could see her eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't know."

"You've been apologizing too much tonight," Chisato let's out another giggle. "But, hey, now you know!"

Takina still felt a little guilty but she digressed. The happy-go-lucky look on her girlfriend's face seemed genuine; that was enough for her.

"Besides..." Chisato trailed off with her words, pulling Takina closer to her once more. She wrapped her arms around both of the black-hair's shoulders, her head making its way into the crook of Chisato's neck this time.

"You can snuggle up to me all you want~" with a smile on her face, Chisato was starting to enjoy the feeling of Takina pressed against her. Minus the surprises a few minutes ago.

Now it was Takina's heart's turn to pick up speed; she was burying her face deep into the exposed skin of Chisato's neck. The blonde could feel her girlfriend's face burning against her flesh which was very noticeable, but Takina wasn't resisting the warmth she was provided.

"Alright..." the younger girl didn't even think about letting go because she knew Chisato would lure her in anyway. It also felt nice...

With the movie playing in the background, followed by the two girls' bodies creating a massive heat between them, they both felt right at home. Just the two of them. There was a long ways to go in their relationship, but they enjoyed these types of moments creeping its way up to the surface. It felt... well... like a connection.

Chisato ran her hand up and down Takina's upper arm, a smile plastered on her face as if her lips were permanently stuck in that position. Takina eased into the touch, digging her face into the blonde's curved flesh; that made her feel even more at ease. At this rate, Takina could fall fast asleep then and there, but she kept herself together since she had planning ahead of her.

She wanted to stay awake to let this 'difference' happen for Chisato. She just needed to figure out what 'planning' she was going to conduct?

The two lovers stayed in this spot for quite sometime since the mood was overpowering. The warmth drove them crazy.

Alas, these type of moments can't last forever. Near the end of Chisato's movie, a phone went off on their coffee table. It was Takina's phone judging from the ringtone that was playing throughout the room. 'Work Bitch by Britney Spears'.

The black-haired pulled away, instinct-fully apologizing once more as she grabbed her phone off the table. They should really ban each other from saying 'sorry'.

"One second," Takina said before answering the phone call. She headed into the kitchen for more privacy.

"Hello?" She talked formally as if she was preparing for a job interview. The female was surprised by who was on the other line. "Hey, it's Fuki."

Fuki Harukawa

"Fuki? Why are you calling so late?" Takina asked with a slight shock in her voice. Her voice didn't portray much emotion, but enough emotion to unleash what she meant.

"Oh, yeah, I thought I'd call since it's almost Christmas Eve 'n stuff, plus I wanted to get Christmas calling out of the way," Fuki's cheeks slightly heated up from her words. She always did that when she was being friendly.

"Ah, well, Merry Christmas then," Takina said in a monotoned voice. It was the brunette's turn to be shocked. "Huh. Usually, you don't say 'Merry Christmas'," Fuki quirked up one of her eyebrows with aghast.

Once Fuki said that Takina backtracked on what she told her. She really did say 'Merry Christmas' to the brunette. She must of said it unconsciously.

"That girlfriend is really changing you. I never thought I'd see the day," the brunette shook her head.

Takina had no comment for that, so she segued the conversation. "Did you need something or were you just calling?"

"Sheesh I'm getting to it. Okay, so, me and Sakura are going to a Christmas party tomorrow and I was wondering if you wanted to come with us 'n stuff? It'll be fun?" Fuki genuinely wanted Takina to come, but her habitual hard-headed act always went against her.

"Ah, tomorrow?" Takina panicked since she was planning something for Chisato. Even though, again, she had no idea what to do yet.

Fuki sighed. She had hope that Takina was going to give into Christmas for the first time, but I guess she had too much hope (again).

"I knew this would happen. I just knew it," the brunette curled her hand into a balled fist, aggravated by the black-hair pushing them away (again).

"Sorry, I just... I just can't tomorrow..."

"Why? So you can avoid celebrating Christmas once again? You have to move on from—"

Takina cut Fuki off from any sort of word she was going to say. She knew what was about to escape from the brunette's lips and she didn't want to hear it.

"I just can't come, okay!? I don't want to come!" The black-haired accidentally blurted out; she was filled with remorse from what happened, both from yelling at Fuki and whatever happened in the past.

Furrowing her brows, Fuki cleared the escalated situation by giving up. She thought she could never pursue Takina into the ways of Christmas, even after trying every year, so she might as well just give up. "Fine! Have it your way! Merry-fucking-Christmas to you!" And at that. The brunette hung up on her friend, if you could even call them that anymore.

I could of handled that better... the female took in a deep breath, exhaling from what she did once again. I'm so sorry, Fuki... I didn't mean to... but... it's hard.

It was hard. That is probably why it was hard to even plan for Chisato. Because... it was hard to let go of another Christmas...

Takina looked at her phone and frowned. Difference is the word that came to her mind again; her mind was opening up. A 'difference' was uprising.

So... she has Christmas problems too? Chisato thought to herself as she leaned against the doorway of the kitchen.

AN: Here's a Christmas present from me I guess lol. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and if you don't celebrate it, then Happy Hanukkah or etc. I'll see you next chapter 🎄🐢!
