Regrets

A/N: Hey guys I know I haven't been as fast with these updates as I would like, but there are four chapters which need editing before publication so I'm almost there! And there is also finals really soon so I have been studying more lately, and it's just been harder to find time between helping Raver and Lyn write these and all my school work. Well now on with this addition of Red Shadow!

Nightwing woke up with a groan as he blinked his eyes open. The older bird tried to survey the room yet only came up with foggy and blurred images. 'A cell?' He thought, 'Most likely...' The bird's head was still spinning as he finally leaned back onto the floor? Wall? Nightwing couldn't feel either his sense of direction or gravity as he sat, stood, or laid there. The boy tried to stay awake only for his eye lids to flutter closed again as he barely kept conscious.

There were a pair of guards stationed right outside the feel doors to where Nightwing was being held captive within. One of the guards nudged the other on the shoulder after giving a head nod back to the cage's inhabitant who had been awoken. With a sigh the other got up from his leaning posture on the wall and started down the hall. It was his job after all to inform the demon head of their prisoner's regained consciousness.

"Now Damian, do you remember happens when you fail me?" Ra's questioned glowering down at his grandson with stone cold eyes. Damian glare hardened even more at the ground; he was refusing to make eye contact. Ra's took another step forward his cape making a flutter sound with the motion. The elder assassin then grabbed his grandson roughly by the chin yanking it up harshly daring the other to meet his eyes. "I thought your mother taught you manors. It's impolite to not look at who is speaking." Damian looked his grandfather in the eyes he could see the anger in them at his failure. Damian dared to glare back slightly.

"Now will you answer my question young man, or am I needing to teach you again then let you study it again." Ra's glared down at the boy with his angry yet dull green eyes. "What happens when you fail me?" He asked again expecting an answer.

Damian risked to change him back with his own glare as he stated firmly, "You get punished."

"Very well." Ra's suddenly let go of Damian. Then, brushing his hand over his cape. "Now how would you rate your failure?" Ra's asked still standing right in front of Damian with stern, dark eyes.

Damian didn't want to answer but seeing as he was 1) shot, 2) tied up by bats. Not to mention they nearly found out who he was. "With what being the highest?" Damian asked.

Ra's raised his eyebrows slightly at Damian's cooperation and frankness but then smiled darkly. "My, my that is very blunt of you Damian. I'm proud, Grandson." Ra's the took a step back and sat down back at his desk. The dark smile never faltering. "As you know we have gained one of the bats, correct?" He questioned all the while weaving his fingers together in front of himself.

"Indeed I have noticed, but I suspect another." Damian offered, watching his grandfather with a curious expression.

"Well I wasn't expecting that yet thank you for the information. I will look into it immediately." -Ra's paused- "After I give you your next deed." The assassins dark smile started to grow into a wicked grin. "I would like for you to 'damage' the bat we have. Can you do that Damian? Or needn't you need to learn what truly does happened when you fail?"

"What do you mean by 'damage' grandfather?" The boy said questionably.

"I mean what I said." Ra's looked at Damian his last giddy expression turning ever darker. "Torture for information of our property -experiment 52."

"But isn't that your job?" Damian asked crossing his arms in rebellion.

"Don't be defiant now, Damian. I'm giving you an opportunity to make you like a true righteous leader. Wouldn't you like to make your mother and I proud?" He challenged. "Unless of course you would like to go with him for both the failure and disobedience?"

"I won't do it. A true leader shows resilience, and bravery. Not torture, it's uncanny."

"You don't question my ways Damian." Ra's growled outward as he recomposed himself. "I was giving you a chance to avoid punishment but this is how you repay me? By insulting me and disobeying an order?"

"Why would I do something that isn't right? You both taught me better than that, I thought." Damian said sarcastically.

"We taught you what you do to keep your people under control." Ra's growled. "If you are to be a great leader you need to know what to with those who defy you." He then cleared his throat. "I'll give you one last chance Damian. Take my order or have to deal with the punishment of both failure and traitorism."

Damian glared in response. "Okay grandfather answer me this. If a great leader knows how to deal with people who defy them, than why doesn't everyone listen to you?" Damian said, "Torturing people is just going to make everyone rebellious."

Ra's slammed his hands down on his desk standing as he started glaring intensely at his grandson. "Get out of my sight this instant. I will send someone to deal with you soon enough." Ra's sat down nonchalantly weaving his fingers together again as he leaned back slowly into his chair yet his expression remained dark and angry. "You will be punished very soon after I have dealt with our prisoner. Get out."

Damian glared at him before turning on his heel and heading back for the door. He was going to pay their prisoner a visit and give a warning, what else could possibly go wrong?  Damian inwardly rolled his eyes at the thought.

Khata squeaked lightly at the sound of the door opening. During their little argument she had gotten lost in her thoughts. The assassin didn't know what to do other than to jump to the ceiling since the halls were so long she would easily be seen. The girl secured herself into the room of the ceiling her arms and legs keeping her in place as she tried to hide in the shadowy ceiling. Damian was too irritated to notice as he walked right beneath the girl in thought. Khata sighed in relief as the young boy went right under her.

Damian made his down to the dungeon underneath the assassin's base and went down to the cells until he found the bats- Nightwing's. The undercover bat followed silently calling Tim on her comm to give him the coordinates of where she was now finding Dick to be located. Tim got the message from K and quickly started making his way over to her location.

"Leave," Damian ordered to the guard with a glare.

"Sorry Master Damian, yet The Demon Head said to not leave this post or let anyone in besides him." The lone guard voiced back toward his superior. He was mentally debating if his partner had told Master al Ghul and he had sent Damian in his stead, yet it wasn't his order.

Nightwing heard voices outside his cell; his was a little groggy from the mass amounts of blood loss to really pay much attention to what was being exchanged between the voices.

"Well, my grandfather gave me access and told me that you were to be relived of your duties."

"I'm sorry Master Damian but I'm following direct orders and can't do that without his straight content."

Damian glared and sighed. "Fine, don't say I didn't warn you. I wonder what punishment he will have in store for you." Damian said, starting to walk away. The guard sighed yet kept his placement not wanting to disobey Ra's al Ghul's orders any further.

Khata sighed hitting her comm again. "Tim where are you?! Ra's grandson is gone so now is time to strike!" She whisper-yelled into the ear piece not leaving her eyes from Dick's cell.

"I'm almost there!" Tim replied hastily as he rounded a corner and saw Kiiki crouched behind a wall out of view from the other assassins in which were oblivious to the two bat's presence.

Damian mustered up the most evil, bone chilling cackles he could create and sent it down the hall. It could send shivers to even the bravest of men and woman as he sprung into action. The assassin quickly took down the one and only guard outside of Nightwing's cell, quickly pulling the limp body from view.

Khata sighed in relief of Tims figure yet stood stone still at the cackle that was even scarier than Dick angry. "Please don't tell me I imagined that?" She whispered to Tim.

Tim froze beside her looking down the hall. "I wish I could say you did..." he whispered back with widening eyes. Khata nodded trying to shake off the small fear that grew on her from the cackle. "I'll take down the guard as you get Dick out of there. You don't know the way they fight." Khata ordered as she slipped into the shadows like the bat she was. Tim nodded and hid waiting for his chance to sneak into the cell.

Damian was back at the front of the cage. His hands were behind his back as he held hiss posture looking into the hallway no where specifically. "You can come out now." Damian said smirking.

"Shit..." Khata muttered form her position on the ceiling once again as she looked down on the Demon Head's grandson.

"I know your up there Khata, was it? Or shall I say Kestrel?"

Kiiki sighed jumping down hoping Tim wouldn't reveal himself yet in case he didn't know the other was there. "Hello Damian al Ghul." She dead panned. "What may I owe the pleasure of the assassin baby?"

"How about to the fact I am willing to help you, Red Robin and Nightwing here escape." Damian said crossing his arms while a smug look creeped onto his features at the accomplishment.

"And why should I trust an al Ghul? If anything you could have an ambush right behind that bend. And my cover is already blown so no need for me to try and kill myself too."

"Trust me I don't really want to help," Damian glared, "but seeing as I am being extra rebellious; I am in for a beating after Nightwing anyway... The real question would be: Why not?"

Kiiki sighed knitting her eyebrows together as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Kid, thanks for the offer and all but that would mean we would need to take you with us so you didn't get tortured for helping us escape and I'd rather not have that on my conscious or an assassin in my living room. Let us deal with this and to help us just don't tell anyone about my being here or how we escaped." She stated patronizing the younger boy who was only 4 years younger.

"I'm not much younger than you Kestrel, and who said anything about me coming with you and your freak squad of Bats... Looks to me like your little BatCave is crowded enough."

"That is true." She laughed slightly, "Just get out of here and don't tell anyone of this ordeal and that will be helping us enough." She then motioned to Tim to go and brake into the cell and help Dick.

"Why don't you use these?" Damian said throwing them the keys.

Tim nodded while catching the keys mid-air. He easily slipped into the cell and instantly let his eyes train on Dick's bloody and messy figure chained to the wall. "What did they do to you...?" He whispered softly, pushing away his shock and started to moving to get his elder brother down.

"Thanks al Ghul, but you should get out of here now." Kiiki said watching Damian suspiciously as she came into the cell only to wish she hadn't after seeing the mess Dick was in. "Grayson..." She said sadly moving to help Tim get him out.

"There is a set of secret tunnels if you use those take to left and a right. 800 meters exactly each." Damian instructed, watching the halls.

Dick lifted his head and saw Tim and Kiiki trying to help him down. He forced a smile not wanting to worry them. "He-hey guys, 's not as bad 's looks..." he mumbled, slurring words together, trying to work past the pain.

Kiiki looked at Damian suspiciously again yet with the state Dick was in already she needed the fastest way out as possible. Kiiki had to keep her gaze away from the bloody Nightwing as she began cussing out having 'doctor eyes' mentally. "I must disagree with that Grayson..." She replied softly as she finally unhooked Dick's right side.

Damian felt bad for Nightwing and bit his lip. He then heard footsteps and mentally scolded himself for stopping the lookout. Damian glanced over to see a few guards, and glared. He ran at them and punched the one knocking him out, and round kicked the other into the wall. "You might want to hurry." The young assassin gave a hushed shout to the bats.

"Drake you got him on that side?" Kiiki questioned as she fixed Dick onto her back half way knowing his larger body was too much for her own to carry by herself.

Tim got his left arm down and draped it around his shoulders to help to support him in standing. He then looked at the young assassin standing there and frowned sadly. The Red Robin thought about how the league was most likely forcing him to be here and work for him.

Dick groaned softly trying to hide his pain from his two younger siblings support going into the open wounds, when he looked up and saw the young boy his eyes widened. "Wh-what are you doing here?" He stammered, "You sh-shouldn't be in a pl-place like th-this." He was concerned for the child's safety thinking he was being held hostage.

Kiiki shook her head at the two knowing they didn't know that Damian was an al Ghul, yet she let the assassin explain for himself since she was more worried for Dick at the moment and trying to evaluate the situation.

"Um, I am Damian Al Ghul." Damian said sadly, looking to the floor slightly. He then rolled his shoulders back an looked back up with a fake sense of pride. "I'm sorry for what my grandfather and my mother have done, but I must go before they suspect me of more treason. I'm so doomed." Damian mumbled the last part. "Remember 800 meters each turn two lefts and a right." He instructed.

"Got it, got it." Kiiki nodded starting to walk. "Just get out of here al Ghul we don't you getting hurt for helping us."

"Too late for that Khata. They will suspect me after what I said not long ago." Damian said, and ran the opposite direction down the hall -disappearing into the shadows of the dimly lit halls.

Kiiki sighed worried about what he could have said but shook it off as she walked with Dick on half of her back leading the trio down his directions. "800 meters left, 800 meters left, 800 meters right..." She muttered to herself as they walked keeping her eyes and eyes on high alert. Tim helped support Dick as they walked down the hall. He trusted Kiiki to get them out there okay, but Dick wasn't looking so good. The elder bird had gone extremely pale and almost completely limp as the two younger ones had to keep shifting their weight to be able to carry him without drooping him.

Damian quickly made his way up to his room,  grabbing a random book so he could pretend to be reading.

Talia knocked on her son's door. She felt no true pain in what Ra's had ordered for her to do to her son from his disobedience. Like always, she could always have another.

"Come in." Damian said politely, moving the random novel from his face and into his lap.

"Damian." Talia stated as she entered her son's room. "You realize your Grandfather is very disappointed in you, and so am I."

Damian looked up to her. "I know."

"Now I must follow my Fathers orders to-" She was suddenly interrupted by a sound if alarms running through the halls. The woman looked down at her son -a glare in her eye. "Did you have anything to do with this." She demanded.

"No. Of course not I am standing right before you, aren't I? Why would I disobey more orders?" Damian said, bullshiting his way out of it.

"Alright..." Talia stated suspiciously as she walked back out the door. "Don't leave this room." She ordered closing the door behind her.

Damian smirked and let out a small chuckle at his 'innocence'. Damian then let out a sigh as he sat on his bed and looked towards his window. As tempting as it was to sneak away, he knew the league would find him.

---

Kiiki walked as fast as she could while helping support Dick. They finally exited the leagues hideout as she led them over to wear the K-Motor and Red Robin's bike was. "You call Batman and I'll get the bikes ready for Nightwing."

Tim nodded and called Bats on the comm. "We have Nightwing," he informed, "prep the med bay for immediate use."

Kiiki sat Dick down in front of her on the bike as she set in the autopilot coordinates. "Drake hurry up! The alarms are sounding in the league!" She yelled as the bike started while holding Dick and the handles.

Tim hopped onto his bike and started it up and revving the motor. "Ready when you are!" He called having finished the call with bats.

Kiiki nodded sending the bike at full speed to the direction a of Gotham. She had to close her eyes whenever her gaze shifted to Dick. Tim took up the rear as he followed after Kiiki, going as fast as he could while trying to keep up with her. He wanting to get back and see to Dick's injuries as soon as possible.

"Just another half hour Dick...you're going to be okay..." She tried to reassure the other as she weaved through the traffic in speeds to rival the Flash. Dick nodded slightly not really sure what she had said but he didn't want to worry her by not responding.

Dick groaned during the entire drive as the went back to Gotham, falling in and out consciousness the whole way back.

---

Kiiki flew into the BatCave having to slam on her brakes so they didn't run into the cave wall. The sudden stop made a loud screeching noise on the cave floor yet all she could hear was her heart beat in her ears. Dick's pulse had weakened during the duration of the drive and she was a complete spazz -not a good thing for the doctor figure to be.

Tim pulled in beside Kiiki only mere seconds behind and ran over to help to take Dick to the med bay.

Kiiki picked up Dick over half her back letting Tim get the rest as she helped drag him over to the medical bay. She wanted to help and get the instruments out to help Dick but her mind was shut down as she was shaking slightly at the sight of Dick's blood staining the front of her uniform from the long drive.

Bruce was over toward the three faster than the Flash with the medical supplies that were needed while the two youngers laid Dick onto the medical bed. Bruce quickly started pulling away the clothe of Dick's Nightwing uniform in order to get a better look at the injuries. The list was endless. With a small sigh and saddened eyes, Bruce started to work away at his son mere seconds after injecting him with an IV and connecting him to a heart monitor. With the help of Tim, Bruce was able to quickly set up the machinery and have out and ready the stitches, tweezers, ect.

Kiiki just sat cross legged on the floor trying to calm down.

Red Hood walked back into the cave at the opposite end of the medical bay. He tossed his helmet to the floor as he shoved all his weapons back on the rack to reload and clean later. The gunner noticed Kiiki and Tim's bikes as he went over to change out of the uniform. Wait. His mind suddenly clicked as he ran over to the med bay, his eyes widened at the sight of Dick on the bed-table. "What. Happened."

Tim looked over at Jason sadly. "We couldn't find him before they..." -He paused, taking a look down at his eldest brother's limp and beaten body- "We got him back here as soon as we could."

Jason gave a frustrated sigh while he ran a hand through his hair as he leaned against the wall. "Will he be okay?" The guns man's voice cracked slightly as he teared his gaze from Dick.

"He's stable...but barely..." Bruce said worry lacing every syllable.

Jason nodded breathing in slowly. He then was glad he'd put away his weapons since at the moment he badly wanted to shoot something.

Jason just stood leaning on the wall staring at Dick in worry. He felt like it was all his fault the other was in this situation.

Tim went over and sat down beside Kiiki wrapping an arm around his year younger sister's shoulders. "You okay?" He asked softly.

Kiiki nodded in a lie only to shake her head right after as she subconsciously leant into Tim. "This has been one shit of a week, huh?"

Tim nodded pulling her closer. "No kidding," he softly laughed thinking about everything that had happened to their little bat family in the past few days.

Kiiki rested her head on her brothers shoulders closing her eyes. "Ya know Tim... You're not that bad." She teased with a small smile.

Tim leaned his head on hers gently, laughing softly. "I try to be a good brother when it counts." he stated happily, grinning proud at her actually speaking his first name for once.

"Well it works." She joined in brushing off how earlier she had accidental said Tim.

"Glad to hear it," he laughed.

"You're ruining the moment Red Robot." She sighed starting to drift off. All the stress had worn her out.

"I know," -he sighed, rubbing her arm gently- "it's what I'm good at right?"

"Very," she whispered softly starting to lose consciousness, yet willed her eyes to stay open. Tim just  kept rubbing her arm gently trying to calm her down enough to get some sleep.

Kiiki gave a small yawn and immediately scolding herself for it mentally; her body was too tired, stressed, and spazzing to do anything but completely make her pass out. Tim smiled softly, feeling her muscles relax -signaling that she had fallen asleep.

Lyn had fallen asleep in the BatComputer's chair yet was awaken from all the commotion. She looked around, rubbing her tired eyes. Lyn could hear voices coming from the med bay but didn't have her crutches, so she started rolling the chair towards the other room to see what was going on. Lyn started growing bored of how slow it was taking to roll so she ended up pushing off as hard as she could with her good leg sending the chair flying towards the med bay.

Jason turned his head at the sound of squeaking from the other room like a rolling object coming their way.

Lyn flew down into the room the chair she was on tipping back and making her hit the ground with a groan.

Jason jumped at the sudden sound of a small crash. He looked to the source only seeing Lyn in the floor of a fallen down chair. "How many times are you going to fall today?" He questioned glad he had something else to think of rather than Dick's condition.

"Oooh..." Lyn groaned looking up at the sound of Jason's voice. "Not really my fault... I didn't really know how to drive that thing..." She said lazily while rubbing the back of her neck on the floor, looking up at Jason.

"You did a good enough job getting it over here from then computer." He shrugged as he kneeled down in front of her. "Now let's get you off the floor before you hurt yourself."

Lyn laughed sheepishly and muttered under her breath: "Too late." Jason sighed reaching his hand out toward her as he pulled the chair back up with the other. Lyn gratefully took his hand smiling sheepishly as she felt her face burning bright red

"I'll go grab you some crutches." Jason stated as he stood her onto her feet once again. The gunner had to take a deep breath as he passed Dick's medical bed, the sight of his brother scaring him as he came back with the extra, extra crutches.

"Thanks," Lyn mumbled shyly, "what's going on? I kinda passed out, out there..."

"D-Dick's not looking so good." He wavered slightly hesitating as to thinking of his brothers condition.

Lyn looked over and saw Dick laying there covered in bandages.  "I'm sorry..." She whispered softly, looking down at the ground as she remembered all the times the LoA had left her in that state or of the like.

"Its not your fault Lyn... Its those damn assassins." Jason growled out as he started to glare at the floor, starting to get angry. Lyn remained silent, staring at floor. She couldn't bring herself to look him in eyes even if he didn't blame her for what happened she knew it was her fault. They had come here looking for her after all.

Jason accidentally let his gaze wander over to Dick both anger and worry fighting for control within him. The guns man walked out of the room feeling a panic attack come up again, yet didnt want to disturb the two sleeping teens on the floor or his beaten out-cold older brother. Lyn heard Jason walking away and hesitantly followed after him worry that he would have another panic attack like what happened earlier outside.

Jason leaned on the wall of the trashed manor taking in heavy breaths as he tried calming down only for them to start getting hastier as he kept having flash backs of both himself and Dick. Lyn came up behind him and gently put a hand on his shoulder. "Jason?" she asked softly, "You okay?"

Jason nodded hesitantly, not wanting to worry Lyn as he closed his eyes. The gunner could feel his body shaking lightly as he started to drift off not really noticing the others presence anymore. Lyn, not really sure what to do, just started gently rubbing his shoulder and back looking at the ground angry with herself for not knowing how to help him.

Jason kept drifting off his eyes becoming dull and slightly glazed over as his body started shaking violently. Lyn panicked seeing him shaking so bad and dropped her crutches wrapping her arms around him in a hug from behind.  Jason flinched subconsciously at the contact until his body finally rested into it even as his mind was drifting.

"Jason..." Lyn said softly worried for the man who saved her, "it'll be okay... Dick will be okay..."

Jason started sweating slightly as his throat started closing up. The bat started feeling as though he was choking and instantly clawed at imaginary hands around his neck. Lyn looked up and saw him choking himself. She then, without thinking, quickly walked around to stand in front of him. Grabbing   his hands she forced them down and way from his neck. "Jason!" She practically yelled trying to snap him out of his daze. "Calm down, it's okay."

The shout brought him back slowly as he blinked staring blankly at Lyn with a placid face, void of emotion. "What happened..." He trailed off only having remembered leaving the BatCave and those cursed memories.

"I think you were having another panic attack..." Lyn said softly, her hold tightened on his hands.

Jason looked down at their entwined hands. "You shouldn't be standing on your knee it needs healing." He said. His voice was dead and vague almost sounding as though it was a robot -concentrated and without any emotional appeal.

Lyn shook her head looking up at him. "I can stand here as long as you need me to." She promised.

"I'm fine." He replied in that same dead tone still out of it.

"You don't have lie to me," she whispered sadly, shaking her head.

Jason opened his mouth to say something yet slowly shut it again. He didn't think he had lied to her...maybe cause he was trying to convince himself.

Lyn dropped his hands and wrapped her arms around him in a hug, resting her chin on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry Jason." Jason just did as the normal human respond of looping his arms around her as well yet there wasn't a true force behind them besides his subconscious. The bat just drifted off behind her blinking to refocus his vision ever few seconds. Jason finally let down some of his guard as he leaned his head onto the other breathing in the gas stained smell in he hair from the earlier events. Lyn gently rubbed his back, wishing he would trust her enough to talk to her but not blaming him for wanting to stay quiet either. She closed her eyes subconsciously moving closer to him.

Jason pulled from her slowly looking away so she wouldn't see the mess he was. "I'm going out for a walk..." The gunner stated just wanting to clear his head, yet he didn't realize he was still in his uniform.

Lyn nodded sadly, "Please be careful..." She whispered softly as she bent down to pick up crutches, so she could go find something to start cleaning this mess up. She hoped it would help cheer everyone up.

Jason nodded shoving his hands into the jacket pockets completely ignoring the fact there were batarangs digging into his gloves. He then started walking over to the destroyed entrance of the manor looking down in thought only to look back up once he saw the dry brown crusted remnants of his brothers blood.

---

Jason walked down the pitch black streets of Gotham. The only dim light coming from the blanketed moon and busted up streetlights on every few blocks. Jason sighed looking up to the midnight-black, cloud rich sky until he found his gaze then on the gray spiked concrete as a hard substance was slammed into the back of his skull. The bat then heard a high pitched laugh and instantly went to Harley. Jason wasn't in the mood or right situation to face of the jester since he had finally realized he wasn't wearing either his mask or helmet. Idiot. The bat franticly searched his pocket for an extra a long sigh of relief washed over him as he produced one of Rightwing's extras from an inside pocket. The boy then wanted to break down right there but knew it wasn't the time or place, he would just have to such it up. Slipping on the mask the vigilante turned to face Harley with an angry scowl as he then took note of his absence of weapons from how he'd put all his things away when he arrived at the cave.

"Thats what you got for puttin my Puddin in jail, Hoody!" Harley yelled in her Jersey accent that made Jason want to rip his eardrums out on the spot.

Jason just got into his fighting stance sending glares at th girl. She was close enough to Joker for Jason to hate her guts almost as much as he hated Joker... almost.

"Awe~" Harley whined swinging her over-sized hammer back over her shoulder, "No witti' remaks?"

Harley gave a psychotic smile as she tilted her head at Jason. "Dats a new mask ya got Hoody~" She teased pulling her mallet in front of her again. "But I like mine mor'!" She exclaimed jumping at him and as if on cue the small bells on her hat chimed. Jason narrowly missed her attack as he grabbed her hand throwing her over his shoulder.

Lyn found a bucket and some old tattered rags. She filed up the bucket with soapy water and carefully carried it back out into the hall where she started scrubbing at the blood stains on the walls and floor. Lyn was scrubbing the wall when she remembered that Jason was in costume, but without his mask. She face palmed and turned with her crutches heading out into the Gotham night to find him.

Lyn was racing down the streets of Gotham as fast as her crutches would let her, trying to find Jason before something bad happened. The ex-experiment turned a corner and could hear what sound like a fight coming from a dark alley. Hoping she was wrong and it wasn't Jason she turned and started down the alley seeing Jason fighting...was that a clown?

Harley landed with a grunt as she looked back up at Josn with a toothy grin. "Dat was mean ta do to a lady~" She mocked while slipping out of his cold like a salamander. She picked up her hammer she had dropped in the flip and swung it at Jason again. The bat didnt have time to fully dodge this one only letting it contact his arm. The bat grunted silently, even though it still hurt like hell. He grabbed one of his back up batarangs throwing it back at Harley only to have her use her hammer like a baseball bat.

Lyn watched as the clown hit the small bat shaped blade with her mallet sending it flying right into her shoulder. She yelped at the sudden pain falling into the wall with her crutches.

Jason couldn't hear anything perfectly at the moment through his heart beat storming in his ears as he felt the hammer make contact with the side of his head. The bat was out of weapons and an emotional reck. Fun

Harley took advantage of the Red Hood's emotional compatibility as she kept throwing insults at the boy with swings of her hammer as a side dish. Jason was only able to dodge every one or the other mallet coming his way as he started to feel his throat clogging again in a vain way of saying the jester was right.

Lyn pulled the small blade from her shoulder biting back her cries of pain. She stood back up leaning on her crutches as she walked over to get a better view of the fight. Lyn needed to be able to see the clown for this next part she had planned.

Lyn closed her eyes reaching out through the shadows she grabbed the clown and threw her into the wall harshly. Harley squeaked at the sudden movement as she jumped up from the wall. "WHOS DERE?!" She yelled in her annoyingly thick Jersey accent as she glared around ignoring the shaking Red Hood on the wall across from her in the same alleyway.

Lyn stepped forward out of the shadows keeping a thin shadow across her face so the other couldn't make out her features. "Your worst nightmare." She growled sending the clown flying back once again.

"Sorry hun but I dont see any angry Mista J's 'round so me nightmare aint here~" She grunted pushing herself up with the handle of her hammer against the floor. "Now I didn't tink dere were any magix us'as in Gotham?"

"You could say I'm new in town" Lyn said swirling the shadows around the clown's feet. The ex-experiment had left her crutches against the wall not wanting to let the jester know she was injured.

"Well dat'll be annoyin." Harley frowned.

Lyn just smirked willing the shadows around the clown to start closing in around her. Harley noticed just too late to do anything as she squealed in fright from the blackness that consumed her. She started to swing her mallet around in the darkness trying to yell at the other.

Lyn closed her eyes again and sent the clown flying, sending her to the Gotham City Police Station she had passed on the way there.

Jason had gone out of it again. His shoulders shook as he thought...no he wasn't thinking. It was like his mind was blank except for him. Alone.

The shadow user turned and saw Jason shaking. She quickly ran/limped over to him in worry.  "Jason!? What's wrong!?" She asked grabbing his hand in hers.

Jason took deep weary breaths as he responded with a small, "N-Nothing."

Lyn sighed sadly from his obvious lie. "Let's get you home..." Jason nodded pushing himself up the wall and using it to stabilize himself. Lyn held his hand, her abandoned crutches forgotten.

"Can you make it back alright?" She asked concerned.

Jason nodded not trusting his voice as he ripped the mask off and threw it to the floor in disgust. At the sight of Dick's Nightwing mask made his churn in remembrance of the eldest's sorry state. Lyn bent down and picked the mask up sadly. She then turned back to Jason and nodded slightly before silently leading him out of the alley.

Jason followed behind her. Running a hand through his hair, Jason sighed. The bat tried to clear his mind but all he wanted to do was shoot something- more someone- as a distraction.

Lyn was limping as she lead them in the direction of the manor, she was holding his hand as they walked subconsciously tightening her grip with each painful step. Jason hadn't noticed their connection until, he felt her nails dig into his skin. The bat gazed down to their entwined fingers and flushed a slight pink.

"Almost there..." Lyn reassured seeing the manor not to far away now.

Only then did Jason realize the limp on her step as she limped in front of him. "Lyn, where are your crutches?"

"Um... Back in the alley...?" Lyn mumbled her face flushing a light pink in embarrassment.

"You're just asking for a death wish." Jason shook his head before pulling his hand from hers to be able to carry Lyn. The bat held her bridal style even though his back protested in pain.

"I'm fine really Jason," Lyn protested, "I can walk on my own just fine."

Jason shook his head as he tried to situate Lyn better against him so his bruised spine wouldn't completely disagree. "You're never going to get better if you keep walking on it."

Lyn fell silent at that, she knew he was right but he was hurt to he shouldn't be carrying her through Gotham. If only she had remembered to grab those damn crutches back there.

Jason finally made it back to the manor. He stepped over the pieces of broken furniture that still hadn't been cleaned up yet. The worked his ways slowly down the steps each step making a small streak of pain run up his sore and bruised muscles.

"I'm sorry," Lyn said softly, "I try to help but only cause more trouble for you..." She looked down and away from her carrier, unable to meet his eyes. She felt guilty for this whole situation.

"It's fine." Jason assured as he grunted while taking the last ledge off of the stairwell. Lyn stayed silent not believing him. How could she when his brother was dying right now because of her? She honestly wouldn't blame him if he never wanted to see her again

"Ly-" Jason started but was suddenly interrupted by the scene of Kiiki running right past him with Tim on her tail. Both bats were stained teary eyed. Jason held Lyn against his chest with one arm ignoring his bodies protests as he grabbed Tim's arm. "What. Happened." He demanded.

Tim looked up at Jason and opened his mouth to answer but a small sob was the only thing that came out. He looked down and shook his head his hands curling into fists at his sides. "Di-Dick..."

"What. Happened. To. Dick." Jason rasped out his heart starting to hammer in his chest as he thought of his brother condition again.

"He..flatl-" Tim's sobs were cut off by the sound of alarms blaring from the med bay causing Lyn's eyes to widen as she realized what he was trying to say. Lyn looked up at Jason worried for him and how this would effect him.

Jason's eyes widened as he just pushed Lyn into Tim's arms and sprinted over to the med bay to see Bruce trying to shock Dick's heart back on. The gunner bit his lip in terror.

Lyn pulled herself out of Tim's arms and let him go after Kiiki as she limped over to stand behind Jason. She watched with worried eyes and wanted to comfort him but knew that she was probably the last person he would want to be around at the moment.

Jason didn't even feel Lyn's presence as he turned to the wall slamming his fist into it. The force was hard enough to emanate a large crater in the wall. So was the sound of his fingers popping from socket.

Lyn's eyes widened as she watched Jason turn his fist came flying at her and hit the wall right beside her head. She stared at him in shock and slight fear as she felt tears forming in her eyes. She quickly turned to leave quietly sobbing, "I'm sorry..."
