Chapter 28
Red
"Mhm, I love shopping. Who's credit card did you steal?" Anna asked, bringing the bags of clothes closer to herself. "This has been the normalist thing in my life in the past few weeks."
Since we were going to stay here for a little while longer, I decided to get some new clothes for both us and a few more things that we needed. We couldn't depend on Dillion giving us anything or Cordelia. While at the mall, I purchased a few things for Fiona for when I'd go back. There were a couple toys and cute dresses that she'd look lovely in.
"Luciano's." I said between a wicked chuckle. "But he gave it to me." He offered it to me last night and even when I told him that I didn't want it, he slipped it inside my pants after we made love.
"Wow. That's great. I wish I had a husband like that." Anna pouted before rolling inside the car. We were getting damn late now but the shopping bags were enough to prove that we weren't doing anything wrong.
"Ben is nice."
"Ben is too nice." She stated.
"That's good, right? Did you guys speak last night?"
Anna scoffed, wriggling her keys around her fingers before she finally started the engine. "We did more than speaking."
"Oh, that's good."
"Yeah, but I'm still unsure if I want to be marked." She sounded serious this time.
I titled my head, "Why? Ben is the greatest man I ever knew. He's amazing, and truthfully, he had been kind to me through this entire journey." I remembered the little instances a few months back, when a witch wasn't allowed to enter Brittleburgh but yet Ben sneaked me in there so I could speak with Luciano.
"I know, I know." She mumbled under her breath before closing the topic, it seemed like she didn't want to discuss about Ben and it was fine with me. Maybe she needed time to think. I wasn't going to pressure her in any way even when I knew Ben was dying to mark her since the second he met her.
We arrived at the mansion quick and we dragged our bags inside the house quietly, not making a lot of squeaking and chuckling noises. However, we were still caught, not by Dillion but by Sonya, the head of the house.
"You were expected to return in an hour, not in four." Sonya said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Anna rolled her eyes, "So? We were just shopping." She picked up her bags and showed them to her. "It takes time."
Sonya gave us a sour look as we headed past her. Once back into our small room, I dropped the bags and sighed heavily. That was hard but hopefully, it wasn't going to be a problem since we were just shopping.
The rest of the day passed by in a blur, we weren't called by Dillion or Sonya or anyone else. We had dinner in our room, and while Anna watched the TV, she passed out, the dishes still on her bed.
"Anna?" I called her, hoping she'd wake up but she didn't. After calling her a couple times more, I picked up the dishes and decided to sneak and lurk around the mansion.
The grounds were cold when I walked across them barefoot. The lights were switched off and silence was the only thing in the air. It was strange today. Why was Dillion so quiet? Didn't he want us to do something? Like cast a spell? Isn't that what we were here for?
I went into the kitchen and the lights flickered to life as I switched one of them on. I dropped the dirty dishes into the sink and turned on the tap to clean my hands. Just when the sound of water splashing echoed, I heard a voice, a voice belonging to servant working here—Brenda.
Right above the sink and the dishwasher, there was a large window, displaying the backyard and above the ground, I found Brenda, on call with someone.
I could hear her but her voice was low.
"I can't do it. There are too many people." Brenda said on the call. She was speaking to whoever was preparing the love potions for Dillion. The other woman. "There are two other witches." She referred to me and Annabeth, the witches that presumably would protect Dillion from any other.
A hand snaked around my waist, and I flipped, almost screaming.
"Luciano!" I exclaimed, dragging the tap further till the water was spilling in full speed.
His head lowered down my neck and he began kissing me. "You look so fucking sexy doing the dishes." He whispered.
I looked down and almost laughed before moving my hands away from the water and closing it. "I am not doing the dishes! I'm spying on someone." The dishes were still unclean.
He frowned, moving back. "Really?"
"Yes." I directed him to the woman standing outside in the dark. She was definitely a suspect in our eyes and I needed to know who she was speaking too.
"Oh." His face further scrunched but his hands still didn't leave my body. I didn't want them to either way. "That's the same one I stumbled upon today morning. She hid something."
"What were you doing here today morning?" I was curious.
An emotion flashed his eyes before disappearing. "Nothing. Dillion just wanted to see me. It's nothing to worry about, though."
"Okay. Shush, let me hear what she's saying." I turned my attention back to Brenda who was still on call. I just wanted to know who was on the other side and boom, one thing would be over.
"Yes, they both come from the States and Dillion has gotten a few more men, they are different. I don't know what he's doing but we should put a stop to this for the time being." Brenda continued speaking about all of us.
What was she even doing?
I tried to focus, I really did but as soon as Luciano's hands went inside my pants, I went bland and only felt the warm sensation in my core. I closed my eyes and my hips swayed at him as he placed his lips over my collarbone and then down my shoulders. I heard him gasp when my hand reached out, cupping his very visible bulge through his pants.
My nipples stood up. His hand dove deeper into my pants and then into my thin pants. My body trembled on it's own and I forgot what I was doing here.
Being distracted.
As his fingers ran down my slit, my hips moved, and I released a quivering breath before taking his hand out of my pants.
I licked my wetness off his fingers while my gaze was on him. "As much as I love you, Luciano, this isn't the time to get naked so don't distract me!" I snapped quickly, getting out of my fantasy state and pulling him out as well. I gave him a small push, moving him away from me. "Not today."
He pouted. "Really?"
"Yes. Go sleep, we will meet tomorrow and talk."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him. "Just talk?"
"More than talking." I replied. Anna words went through my mind and I chuckled at the thought. "But for now, go, I want to spy on that woman outside."
He quickly kissed my forehead and then my lips before scurrying out of the kitchen. I whipped around, hands on the counter and stared out of the window where Brenda was still standing. However, she was no longer on the call but instead speaking to someone else.
I moved aside from the counter to get a clearer view of whoever she was speaking too and to my surprise, it was Sonya.
Shit.
