"I swear if this is a prank call, you will-" he looked at the phone number, realizing it was who
they said they were.

But...no. No. Not his Leo.

He stood up, slipping his phone into his back pocket and throwing on his shoes. He ran out the door faster than Barry Allen ever could, and made his way to the New York Central Hospital.

TIME SKIP

Nico ran up to the front desk. "Leo Valdez." he stated.

"Room 202, son," the man behind the computer stated after typing in the given name. "But first,
show me your ID."

Nico's cheeks wet red, Did he bring his ID? He shoved his hand in his pocket and felt a laminated card. He silently thanked the goodness in the universe and pulled it out, showing the
man his information.

"Go on." the man pointed down the hall with his pen. Nico fast-walked to room 202.

A nurse stood outside the door, "Sorry, can't enter, critical condition."

Nico screamed in aggravation, pushing his fingers through his hair and rubbing his head, turning around and taking deep breaths. This can't be happening! He looked up at the nurse, "How long until I can see him? Is he okay?" He felt like breaking down.

"He's in critical condition, but I can't share the specifics. If everything goes well, he should be able to handle guests by tomorrow. If not...well, then, we'll see. Feel free to stay in the waiting room until we call you." the nurse smiled.

This was all too much to take in. How could this happen to Leo?! HIS Leo?! Why?!

"Thank you." Nico bit his lip bitterly, tasting blood, as he shoved his hand in his pockets and walked down to the waiting room. He didn't bother wiping his eyes at all.
