I'm falling.

It's dark. The wind is ripping at my close, making a weird whistling noise in my ears. My eyes are open, wide, like I'm about to die.

But then I'm standing. I'm in the dark. There's a room, a light inside, and I hear...sobbing.

The door is slightly open. I open it more, and it creaks, but I seem to be the only one who notices.

I look at the bright light, shading my eyes with my hand, and look down. And then I see what I never could have wanted to see.

There is am, laying in the hospital bed. Nico his holding my hand, his head bowing down, crying.

"I'm sorry, sir. He's gone." the nurse at the door said. What? Gone?! So am I...

"No. No, he can't be." Nico argues, shaking and bouncing up and down. He lifts his head and reaches out to my face, and caresses my head.

"Leo, I'm so sorry," he says softly. "Why'd you die on me? I believed in you. I believed."

I look at my hands. I'm dead. No, no it can't be. No! I didn't tell Nico... I didn't tell him yet.

"Nico!" I run over to the sobbing boy. I grab his shoulders, but I don't seem to exist to him.

"Nico, please! You have to hear me! Nico!" I start trying to shake him, but I can't move the boy. "Nico! Please! I love you!"

He continues crying. Nico, please... I stop, and look over at myself. It's kind of freaky, seeing the body of yourself when you're dead.

"Sir. It's time to go." the nurse says sadly. Nico wipes his nose and nods, and while hugging himself he stands.

"No, Nico, don't go. I need you. Nico, please." I beg, but he can't hear me. NICO, I NEED YOU TO KNOW!

He walks out of the room, and three men grab my bed and take my body somewhere else.

I stand there, dumbfounded and more heartbroken then ever. I love you, Nico.

Just then, the walls cave in. My head begins to spin, and all light is suddenly gone, like the light switch to the world was flicked. I breathe heavily, afraid. Who would've thought you could feel fear after death?

I look around me, all black. I reached out in front of me, but there was nothing. A cold wind ripped at my entire body. It pushed me, and sent me flying backwards. But I didn't hit the ground.

I was falling.

Falling, into an endless void, into time, or so it felt.

Then an eerie sound, that cause my ears so much pain, hits me, like after listening to music too loudly for hours and then suddenly falling into silence, but a thousand times worse. I grabbed at my ears, but no use.

All falls quiet. I breathe heavily. What's going on? What is this, am I falling through Alice's rabbit hole?

"GAH!" I scream, a jolt of energy shocking me awake. I lay back in pain.

"He's awake!" a doctor shouts. Immediately, I feel a needle in my arm.

"As soon as he falls back asleep, get back to surgery!" a man yells. I'm guessing I wasn't supposed to wake up from my nightmare.

I take a few more deep breaths, eyes still closed but seeing the bright light of the lamp above me, and I fall asleep again.
