Monochrome Bear [SDR2] {Nagito's Route}
A/N: Fuck me, Daddy^^
[Scroll up?]
[Yes] [No]
Thoughts swirled my mind, but before I could make a decision to either text back or ignore it, my phone vibrated and pinged at the same time.
I tapped on the banner, and it led me to iMessage. There were the three circles at the bottom, waving like the ocean. My eyes traced back the the top of the screen to see the contact name.
'Hinata? What could he want?'
Ahogeee: Hey Y/N. I'm not gay.
Y/N: The very fact that you are trying to convince me you're straight seems really pushy and worried, so I'll let my imagination run wild :)
Ahogeee: Well, if I WERE gay (hypothetically), then who would I be dating?
Y/N: Dude... Did you seriously just dig your own grave?
Ahogeee: Shit-- NVM
Y/N: Naegi or... DRUMROLL PLEASE!!
Ahogeee: *farts*
Y/N: Immature as usual, Hajimeme :-)
Y/N: And the fine person who Hinata is prolly dating is--
[Ahogeee added Hoe--P to the conversation]
Y/N: NAGITO KOMAEDA
Y/N: OH SHIT HAJIME I'M GONNA MURDER YO FINE ASS
Hoe--P: ???
Hoe--P: Y/N OML I'M NOT GAY GEESUS
Ahogeee: That's what I'm trying to tell her...
Ahogeee: WAIT A MINUTE
Ahogeee: My fine ass???
Y/N: Er...
Hoe--P: Wow guys if I knew you were flirting I would've left
Ahogeee: WE WEREN'T FLIRTING
Y/N: WE WEREN'T FLIRTING
Y/N: Nagito pls why would I flirt with Hajimeme?
Y/N:

Hoe--P: Accurate if that watermelon was hope
Y/N: Man I wish I were that watermelon
Hoe--P: What???
Ahogeee: PFT

Hoe--P: I guess Hinata smashed me
Y/N: AHHHHHAHAHA
Ahogeee: FUCK
Ahogeee: NAGITO DON'T SAY SHIT LIKE THAT
Ahogeee: I'M TRYING TO PROVE THAT I'M NOT GAY
Y/N: Ahah I love you guys so much <3
Ahogeee: I hate you
Hoe--P: Love you too, Y/N :P
Y/N: Huh?
My hands flew to my face, feeling intense heat staring to grow. Why had Nagito said that so casually? I mean, I was just joking, but... was he joking too?
My brows furrowed with wonder. The deeper I thought, the more my face reddened.
'Maybe Nagito was the one who sent me those messages..?'
That hope quickly dissipated though. Nagito usually never had any interests in dating. I mean, I'm pretty sure he has a girlfriend judging on a photo Junko posted on her page.
Man... Chiaki got so lucky...
I never recalled being so infatuated with a person before. It was sad that I knew I couldn't have him.
Ahogeee: OML HE JUST CONFESSED HIS UNDYING LOVE FOR YOU Y/N
Y/N: Hinata I don't think he was being serious
Hoe--P: :)
Y/N: Nagito wtf is that supposed to mean
Ahogeee: Y/N and Nagito sitting in a tree
Y/N: Omg stop
Hoe--P: F-U-C-K-I-N-G
Ahogeee: K-I-S-S-I-N-G
Ahogeee: Holy shit that went from 0-1000 real quick

Hoe--P: Is that not how it's supposed to go??
Y/N: NAGITO WTF NO
Ahogeee: More like WTF YES
Hoe--P: I guess Teruteru was wrong
Y/N: Ugh
Ahogeee: You two are so cute together! AHH!
Y/N: Since when did you become Ibuki/Sonia/Me?
Hoe--P: Don't worry Y/N. It's just another one of his fangirl moments
Ahogeee: It's fanBOY ExCuSe YoU
Y/N: So how much were those girl scout cookies again, Hajime?
Ahogeee: SCREW YOU
Y/N: You wish ;)
[Hoe--P removed Ahogeee from the conversation]
Y/N: I applaud you Nagito
Hoe--P: Hey Y/N
Y/N: Yeah?
Hoe--P: Er... can I come over in a bit? I want to tell you something...
Y/N: Uhh... dude just text..?
Hoe--P: C'mon it's really important
Y/N: Ok ok you can come over
Hoe--P: Yay :3
Hoe--P: See you soon!
I turned off my phone with a smile on my face. My parents were out of town for a business trip, and my older sister was out drinking with her friends (without my parents' knowledge).
My heart leapt to my throat, and I could feel anxiety build up within me. My hands started to sweat slightly, and it felt like the house's temperature increased in a span of seconds.
He and I were going to be alone... talking as... friends...
I sigh heavily, unlocking my phone and browsing through my gallery. I finally find the one that I saved from Junko's page.
She was the gossip girl at our school, so rumors and all that jazz were her thing. I was never really a sucker for rumors since most of them are fake, but it turns out that 95% of the things Junko posts on her page are truth.
My heart ached staring at the picture of Chiaki and Nagito locking eyes as they crept closer to each other's lips. Her hands were on his chest, and his hands were cupped on the sides of her head.
It hurt me to see them like that.
I wanted to be happy for them, but if you dig deeper, you'd see that I was wallowing in my self-hatred.
I waited for too long to confess, so I had to face the consequences.
The person who had sent me that love note on Monochrome Bear was probably Souda or something, so I'd have to turn him down gently. Knowing him, he'd probably move on to another girl the next day.
Quickly, I rushed towards my mirror and examined my appearance. Doubts clouded my mind whether if the extra effort was worth it. In the end, though, I fixed my hair and pinched my cheeks so that it would give them a natural blush.
My outfit was simple and something I didn't plan on changing since it'd make it seem obvious I was trying to impress someone. Nagito is a smart boy, so it's most likely he'll catch on the moment he sees me.
Just as I finished checking on the social media through my phone, I heard a loud knock echo throughout the house from the door.
I rushed downstairs, excitement seeming to crowd over me.
Slowly, I opened the door a bit to peek through the crack.
"Nagito?" I called out quietly, only half of my face visible through the small opening.
His face curiously peered in through the crack, too.
"Y/N?" He questioned just like me.
I smiled and opened the door wider to let him in. He grinned as he walked in and ruffled up my hair.
I glared up at him since it had taken me a good ten minutes fixing my bedhead.
"Great." I muttered sarcastically, staring into the hall mirror to fix my now-messy tresses.
"What's the matter?" Komaeda questioned, tilting his head. "You don't need to look so perfect around me, Y/N-san."
I rolled my eyes. "Really? Using formalities to get you out of this one?"
Nagito only smiled before nervously scratching the back of his neck. "Eheh... was I that easy?"
I shook my head playfully, still patting down my hair.
"Anyways, let's sit down!" He cheered.
Before I could respond, he grabbed my wrist and dragged me towards the couch. He sat me down and then scooted next to me.
I couldn't help but chuckle.
"What's wrong?" He wondered aloud.
"It's just... you're acting like this is your house instead of mine."
His cheeks slightly flushed, but he still held eye-contact. "Hm? Should I feel stiff or uncomfortable around you?"
I shook my head, my messy hair now getting messier. "N-No... I just thought it was interesting is all..."
"Your family is like the family I never had..." He muttered. "I'm glad your parents are always so welcoming, I guess..."
He paused, taking in a deep breath.
"I guess I should've spent time with you rather than fighting with you for your parents' attention."
I bit my lip, my head tilting down a little. "I would appreciate that, actually."
We both sat there in silence, the sounds of the radio in my bedroom filling the air with soft music.
"So, uh..." I started. "What did you want to talk about?"
Immediately, his back shot up and he sat in a straight and stiff manner. His face also flushed ten times darker than it had been before. He frowned a bit before covering the bottom portion of his face with his right hand.
"Nagito?"
"Y/N..." He started, removing the hand from his mouth. "I know you like someone."
My eyes widened. Now it was my turn to blush. "Wh-What are you talking about?" [B-Baka!]
"I know..." He muttered quietly. "I know you like Hinata." [BUT HE'S MINE, finished Noogietoe jealously]
"Huh..?" I mumbled under my breath, confusion now finding its way to me. "H-Hinata..?"
Nagito nodded, his eyes seeming to be glossed over.
"So what if I like Hina--"
"BUT I SAW YOU FIRST!" Nagito blurted angrily. Once he realized what he said, he slapped his hands over his face. "S-Sorry... I didn't mean to..."
"Ko..." I said, my voice shaky with reluctance and hesitation. A small smile graced my features.
I wrapped my arms around his back and let him bury his head in the crook of my neck.
"Nagito... I don't like Hinata in that way..." I confessed, clearing up any confusion or doubt. "I like you, but I already know you have a girlfriend. You should stay away from me..."
His head shot up once again, his red and puffy eyes now staring at me. "Y-You seriously think trash like me would have a girlfriend?"
"You're not fucking trash." I mumbled, holding the sides of his face while he let his tears fall free. "You're someone special... You're like..." I paused for a moment, thinking up of a word that would fit him perfectly. "You're like hope."
He smiled at the word. "Hope, huh?" He said fervently. "But... we thought that we both had a lover?"
"Apparently a huge misunderstanding." I admitted shyly.
"What made you think I had a girlfriend..?"
Embarrassed, I unlocked my phone and showed him the photo.
He stared at it, confused. "Oh... Chiaki and I were supposed to do a play. Enoshima-shit was doing the directing."
He pointed towards where there was light bouncing off their clothes, skin, and hair.
"Those were the stage lights."
Once again, I bit my lip, feeling stupid that I assumed the both of them were a couple. Though, at first glance, anyone would've thought the same.
"O-Oh..." I said. "I'm sorry... I thought you two were..."
Nagito shook his head. "I only like you, Y/N."
"So, uh... what made you think I like Hinata?"
Nagito's eyes slightly widened. "Er... I also kinda saw a picture of you two..." He said nervously.
He showed a picture of Hajime and I at the ice cream parlor not too long ago. Hinata was kissing my forehead while I awkwardly rested my hands on his chest. His arms were also wrapped around me.
"A-Ah... I didn't think you out of all people would get ahold of this photo."
Komaeda pursed his lips as if it wasn't the response he expected from me. "So, is there any story behind this story?"
My face flushed darker.
'Of course there is.'
The silence hung in the air, for I was too ashamed to reveal the truth.
The white-haired boy stared at me with such intensity that I felt like crumbling under the pressure. A look of disappointment adorned his pale face.
"I'll be taking my leave now. Good night, L/N-san."
He got up from the couch, not making eye-contact with me. I didn't grab his wrist because it was overused and cliché.
I stared at his back as he opened the front door. The setting sun outlined his body and infamous hair.
"Nagito, wait." I said firmly, standing still in the spot we had just been in.
He didn't stop like he should've been expected to, however.
I didn't want to chase after him since it'd only annoy him further. He was never the type of guy to be held back by the wrists.
Instead, I decided to pull my trump card. [Not the orange one, the purple one;) ]
I slowly got onto my knees as I felt the tears well up in my eyes on command. My fingers clasped together in a begging motion as I slightly bent forwards, my forehead touching the wooden floor.
Ouma had taught me the trick to crocodile tears not too long ago.
"N-Nagito... please! Let me explain!" I begged, wetting the newly-cleaned floor.
My poor maid...
'I guess I'll have to pay Levi extra this month.'
I heard Nagito stop putting on his shoes. My eyes slowly rose up to see him staring down at me, a look of sympathy across his face.
"Y/N, you know I hate seeing you cry..." He said softly.
I only nodded weakly as he came back towards me.
"Especially when it's fake."
My eyes once again widened.
'Shit.'
Slowly, I used my sleeves to wipe away the wetness coating my flushed cheeks.
"I-I'm sorry..." I apologized once again.
Nagito only sighed, helping me to stand back up. "Let's just go back to the couch and talk, okay?"
A bit happy, I nodded.
We both walked together to the couch, Nagito trying to support me in case I fell.
"Hinata and I made a plan to prove that he wasn't gay. Well, he was the one who formulated it." I started off. "We went to an ice cream parlor and pretended to be a fake couple. There was this photographer in town taking shots of couples for magazines, so Hinata thought that this would be his chance..."
Nagito stared at me, his face full of understanding yet a bit of doubt.
"He told me to put my hands on his chest and that he would do the rest. The next thing I knew, the photographer came in the parlor and saw us 'in the moment'. Hajime was kissing my forehead with my hands rested against his man tits as the photographer took the photo."
The marshmallow-haired boy tried to hold in a laugh. "W-Well, I guess that's even then, huh?"
"Yeah..." I mumbled, a blush starting to creep up on my face. "You could say I was really jealous when I saw that photo of you and Chiaki, though..."
"Jealous?" Komaeda looked confused before a literal light bulb went over his head. "Were you jealous that Chiaki and I were doing this?"
Before I could ask "doing what?", he grabbed me so that I was encased in his arms.
My hands were forced to rest on his chest as Nanami had done in that photo. Nagito's hands were in the same position on my face as they were hers: on the sides of my face.
The only difference was, however, the photo didn't show the passion and love in his eyes that he showed at the moment.
"Y/N," He whispered quietly. "Close your eyes..."
My eyelids fluttered shut as if they were being controlled, and I felt Nagito's lips press against mine. A mix of emotions burst through me, some that I never even knew existed.
In between the kiss, I pulled away first. He let out a small whine.
"What's wrong?" He questioned, tilting up my chin more to that he could see my whole face.
"It's just that... my secret admirer is someone who I wanted to meet, so I don't know if I'm betraying them or not..." I said quietly, a bit nervous to see his reaction.
"Oh, I thought it'd be something a bit more serious." Nagito shrugged his shoulders dismissively.
"What? This is serious!" I interjected. "Some poor hormonal teenager could be out there sulking to himself that the girl he likes is already taken."
"I highly doubt that." He replied casually.
"Why?"
"Because he's kissing you right now."
"Because he's wh--?"
As I felt the contact of his mouth on mine again, I realized what he meant. It felt as if I were on Cloud 9. Everything seemed right in this world, and being with Nagito might just take us to...
Marshmallow 9...
THAT WAS SUCH A BOOTYFUL ENDING! I hate myself. Anyways, hope you enjoyed! This chapter took me a while since I've been putting it off, but thanks to those of you who waited! I'll be back with the Hajime chapter soon! (Hopefully not another month)
