Despair Arc: Betrayal [Kokichi Ouma & Shuichi Saihara]
[Mastermind] Kokichi Ouma X Reader X [Vice Mastermind] Shuichi Saihara

I put three asterisks to indicate when I'm skipping forward in time BTW. I just don't really feel like typing the whole thing.
Ouma's POV
I dusted off the clay figures in front of me after spending long hours sculpting them to perfection.
They all were symbols of the students that would soon be sucked up into my twisted and evil game. Why was despair so... delightful..?
After playing Danganronpa One and Two, I had grown addicted. There needed to be another killing game, but this time, it needed to be in reality! Arranges could be made, and the files of the students in front of me made me grin.
I flipped through the files, the stuffed plush of Monokuma next to me.
'Shuichi Saihara, Kaede Akamatsu, Y/N L/N..?'
I stopped on this "Y/N"'s profile and read through it.
------------------
Talent: Ultimate Hitwoman
Alias: The Grim Reaper
Other Information: This student in particular has undergone many experiments in her childhood. She is keen on intellect, and she it very sharp and observing of her surroundings. Be extra careful.
------------------
"This one looks like she might be trouble..." I smiled to myself, looking down at her profile picture which had her face covered by shadows. "This should be fun. Nishishishi~"

Y/N's POV
"Let me go, you bastards!" I shouted while flailing furiously around. The people had grabbed my arms and taken me to this prison of some-sort.
They all looked like mindless zombies.
To my surprise, sixteen other people were also being dragged to the facility. I grunted, trying to break free and hopefully grab my gun that sat in my holster or the other gun in my jacket. Being a hitwoman came in handy during situations like these.
Much to my displeasure, I couldn't grab the gun.
I was thrown forward, my hands linked together in cuffs. A blindfold covered my eyes, shrouding me in darkness.
The next thing I knew, electricity coursed through me, and all I could remember was the pain that shot straight through my brain.
-After Memory Wipe-
"Ugh..." I lifted up my head and saw that I was sitting in a chair that was attached to a desk. "Hng..?" Slowly, my body rose, and my feet started walking towards the door.
Before I could make it out, however, I bumped heads with someone.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" I growled, fed up with my mushed up brain being more mushed up.
"S-Sorry.... my bad..." A voice rang out which struck me as timid.
As my eyes glared up, I saw a male standing over me, his cap lowered down to hide his face which was beet red with embarrassment.
Sighing to myself, I decided to let my pride slip just this once. "Nah, it was my fault. A little hand?" I outstretched my arm.
He nodded meekly, gripping my hand in a strong hold before hoisting me up.
"Now that was surely an unforgettable introduction. Let's start over." I held my hand in from of him, mustering up a smile on my face. "My name is Y/N L/N, Ultimate Hitwo-- I mean Designer..."
He stared at me suspiciously yet skittishly before continuing with his part of the introduction. "Shuichi Saihara. Ultimate Detective." He said, taking my hand and shaking it.
"Well, then, Mr. Shuichi, it's nice to mee--"
"WAAHHH!!!" A childish cry interrupted my sentence. "AKAMATSU-SAN IS CHASING ME WITH HOSHI-CHAN ON A UNICYCLE!"
A boy with purple hair ran by us, and true to his statement, a blonde girl, who I assumed was "Akamatsu-san", chased the boy, an angry expression on her pale face. Behind her was a smaller male riding on a unicycle.
"Is that a cigarette in his mouth?" I asked, rising a brow.
"No," Saihara said flatly, "it's just a lollipop stick."
"Hmm..." I hummed, taking a look at the scenery and greenery around me. "Seems to me like this is an interesting school."
Saihara let out a small chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck shyly. "I'll bet."

3rd POV
"Oh, Ouma. Could you get that bottle for me?" Y/N asked, pressing her face against the vending machine. A purple bottle with the word "Panta" spelled across the front caught her E/C eye, and the dictator happened to walk by at a good time.
"Eh? But Y/N-chan... I'm broke." He whined, his face contorting into sadness as tears welled up in his eyes.
"You're lying, Kokichi. Get me the Panta..! Please..?" She asked, looking at him with puppy eyes.
"Hmph! Fine! Y/N-chan owes me later!" He reached into his white pants and pulled out a few coins, and just like that, the H/C head got her drink.
"Thanks, Ouma! You're the best!" She cheered, boldly kissing his cheek for the free drink. "See you later!"
As she ran away to find her other friends, she didn't realize the mastermind standing there, a big blush across his face as a finger traced over the place that had been kissed. He smiled before whispering out softly. "See you later, Y/N-chan."

3rd POV
It was nighttime, and just a few hours earlier, the shy detective had found out who was behind the insane and absurd third killing game. It was the dictator. Oh, the irony.
Late at night, Shuichi had snuck out of his dorm to only discover Ouma walking out his dorm also, seeming to head somewhere else. Before he could open his mouth and confront him, the shorter male had disappeared around the corner.
After dealing with the trauma of losing two classmates (one to a murder and the other to an execution), anyone could've known that the poor detective was mentally scarred and was even more determined to unmask the mastermind.
What he didn't know was that he'd be dragged into it, too.
Once Saihara had finished following Kokichi, he didn't recognize where he was. The Panta-lover had strolled into a large building camouflaged amongst the others. It look like a normal building. Why had Ouma walked into it then?
That's what Shuichi came to find out.
Shuichi's POV
I shakily grasped the flashlight in my hand, making my way through the dark maze that was the path. After I spotted Ouma going into the building, I hesitated.
'What if I made a mistake in my calculations..?'
I shook this thought from my head, asking another question that would counter the first one.
'If that was the case, then why would Ouma sneak around during nighttime when it was a rule for everyone to be in their dorms?'
Going with my gut instinct, I followed him inside, and almost immediately, I was hit with a sweet smell. The smell of a soft drink, the smell of sugar.
The smell of Panta.
"Hmm?" I looked down at the floor and saw the sticky purple trail leading inside. Curiously yet cautiously, I followed it.
My eyes laid on the dictator who sat in a spinny-chair playing on what seemed like a chess board...
I... recognized those pieces. They really stood out to me... especially the magnifying glass piece.
A voice rung through the room, a fit of laughter soon following after. "Checkmate, ay. Isn't that right, Saihara?" He asked, moving the magnifying glass piece diagonal so that it aligned with his piece.
"You're the mastermind, aren't you?" I said more than asked. "You organized this killing game."
Kokichi sat there, not bothering to turn around. "Ah, yes. Now, you're going to be a part of it." He let out his infamous laugh.
'I should've suspected him the moment my eyes landed upon him.'
"A part of this? Nonsense." I retorted. "What makes you think I would become your vice mastermind?"
Ouma spun around from his chair, a smirk adorning his childish face. "Oh, you'll comply. I monitor everything. I know how you feel about Y/N. Trying to mask it up by giving your feelings to Kayayday."
"It's Kaede, and what if you know about my interest for Y/N? I'd rather be rejected rather than join you on your murder spree." I crossed my arms, walking closer to the purple-haired maniac.
"Hm..? Who said I was going to tell her..?" He wondered out loud, tapping his chin. An evil expression took on his face. "I was going to kill her and frame it on someone else."
My eyes widened. "Did I hear that... c-correctly..?" I asked.
"Yeah, you kinda did." Ouma said, bored out of his mind. He picked up the sewing needle piece and knocked over the music note piece. "Oh no. Someone has died." He said showing no hint of sadness. Next to the music note pieces were a gun, a lion head within a rose, and a paintbrush with angel wings.
He reached over to the main computer controlling everything and spoke into the intercom. "Bing Bom Pom Pom!" Kokichi laughed with a higher-pitched voice. "A body has just been discovered! After a certain amount of time has passed by, a class trial will begin!"
Just like that, he turned off the microphone and focused his attention back on me.
"You're sick, Kokichi." I said, tilting the bill of my cap down. Looking into one of his monitors, I saw Y/N kneeling down next to Akamatsu, her face filled with despair: a look that no one should ever have on their expressions.
"Yes, I am sick! Nishishishi! Save your life, or save Y/N's. Choose." Ouma cackled mischievously.
Clenching my fists, I looked up at him. "Fine. I'll be your vice mastermind."
Ouma touched the tips of his fingers together, seemingly satisfied with my answer. "Excellent..."

Y/N's POV
I was running for my life. Usually, being a hitman, it was the other way around. It was a game of cat-and-mouse, but now, the tables have turned on me.
I knew too much... It was a mistake spying around... Now, I have to either face the consequences or temporarily hide away. The second choice was close to impossible. There were cameras everywhere, littering the buildings and pathways with no privacy whatsoever.
Most of our classmates were down; four of them were dead, at least. Shirogane was caught a while ago for murdering Kaede.
"Hah.... hah..." I panted.
I looked over my shoulder and saw Shuichi chasing me during the nighttime. He was the mastermind.
To think I started falling in love... At least... he wasn't the only one who I was infatuated with...
'Ouma...'
"Gah!" I screamed, tripping over completely nothing. "Fuck! Shit!" I cursed, trying to climb up before the male could get to me.
"Y/N!"
Before I could escape from the detective who I once was proud to call my friend, he held my arms in place behind my my back.
I chuckled painfully. "Heh... you caught me, Mastermind. Go ahead. Kill me. I was always ready for my death day."
He flinched a bit; I felt it in his hands.
"I'm not the mastermind, Y/N."
"Funny how you betray me and have enough decency to lie to me." I glared looking at his face which was filled with anguish and despair. "Just tell me the fucking truth and kill me."
"I'm afraid he has no control over your life." A familiar childish voice rung out. "But your life is now in my hands."
I slightly turned my head over and saw him. My other love.... They... both betrayed me..?
"O-Ouma...?" I mumbled weakly, starting to feel the tears sting my vision. "You... you guys are sick..."
"Sick... isn't really a pretty word, Y/N-chan..." Ouma muttered, signaling Saihara to let go. Once I sat up, rubbing my arms, he leaned in close, and I could smell his Panta-scented breath. "Despairful is much more beautiful..."
Shuichi stood there, awkwardly, must I include. He fiddled around a bit, as if trying to prove that he had nothing to do with this entire situation.
"Why...? Why are you doing this..?" I cried, my eyes shooting over to Ouma.
"Bored." He said simply. "Bored out of my skull."
I slowly rose up, grabbing the gun I kept hidden inside my jacket quickly to avoid an immediate reaction.
I pointed the gun at the two of them, a new-found confidence finding its way in my soul. "Don't make me shoot you." I warned.
Ouma cracked a smirk while Shuichi flinched.
"Well..." The purple-haired boy started. "Do you think I started this game unprepared for my death? I'm just like you: a monster. It's like looking at the girl version of myself. Nishishishi!"
Slowly, he walked towards me, and I cocked the gun, getting ready to fire. The gun was pointed as his chest, and for anyone, having it pushed against your heart was mortifying.
"What are you waiting for? Shoot me. I dare you." Ouma challenged, a maniacal grin on his face. I saw that his eyes swirled in utter despair. The feeling must've been delightful for him. His face was close to mine, and our lips were just a few mere inches apart.
Without a second thought, I jumped back and pointed the gun at my own head. "Don't make me pull the trigger." I said shakily. I swallowed the lump in my throat, clearing any last-minute jitters and regrets.
"Y/N! Don't do that!" Shuichi countered. "What do you hope to accomplish? Just comply with Ouma, and you'll be sa--"
"There's no way in hell that I'll be taken by the likes of the people that I've been betrayed by..." I said quietly. "You lost my trust. I'd rather kill myself."
Shuichi clenched his fists, sweat pouring down his face. "If I can't stop you with words, then I'll have to take action!"
Before I knew what was going on, he charged towards me, making an attempt to remove the gun from my hand. That wasn't the case, however.
I felt his lips on mine just as I pulled the trigger. The bullet tore through his skin and arteries, embedding itself in Shuichi's heart.
Tears spilled out of both of our eyes, realizing the reality of the situation.
He was going to die.
I killed my first love.
As he collapsed down onto his knees, his arms seemed to wrap around my legs, giving me a final hug. Just before the life left his solemn eyes, he managed to mutter out.
"I... love you..."
I threw the gun on the ground and collapsed down with him, hugging his bloodied corpse close to my body. I gently petted his hair, crying softly to myself.
What I didn't realize was that someone grabbed the gun. The bullet went off, and I felt a sharp pain pierce through my skull. Soon, the blackness engulfed me, and a white light with Shuichi standing there in the middle caught my vision.
Ouma's POV
"The murderer was you, Ouma Kokichi!" Maki Harukawa accused, pointing her finger at me.
I held up my hands as if surrendering. In all honesty, the entire situation with Y/N and Saihara took its toll on me. There was no sleep at night for me anymore. Insomnia filled my void heart.
"Yes... It was me..." I admitted.
Everyone looked shocked that I admitted it so easily, yet some were still uncertain. "Kokichi... you seem... very suspicious..." Kaito said, his eyes narrowing.
My smile didn't bother showing up ever since I killed Y/N. Yes, I did threaten Saihara with that threat, but I never thought of hurting a single hair on her head.
"Let's... just get this execution over with..." I mumbled, looking away guiltily. "Y/N killed Saihara, and I killed Y/N. It's as simple as Kaito's feelings for Maki..."
"EH?!" Maki exclaimed.
"Monokuma. Could you do the honors?" My eyes looked towards my creation that I had built up for years.
"With pleasure!"
The hammer struck the red button, and I braced myself for all of the executions rolled into one.
-After Death-
3rd POV
"Ouma!" Y/N screamed, seeing the boy appearing in front of her.
"I'm sorry, guys... I messed up... real hard." Ouma apologized, rubbing his arm. "I was just so overcome with despair. I was blinded by it." Tears spilled out of his eyes, and he became a blubbering mess.
Saihara placed his hand on Y/N's shoulder, and she nodded in return. "It's fine. We have a second chance at life anyways..." Y/N smiled towards the young dictator.
"H-Huh..?" He stopped crying for a bit. "What do you mean..?"
"We're getting reincarnated..." Shuichi explained.
"Ready? Just sign here." Y/N grabbed the clipboard and handed it over to Ouma.
He stared at the parchment before grabbing his lucky purple pen and signing next to his name.
Soon, all their bodies glowed white before disappearing completely in order to fulfill their new roles in their new lives.
-New Life-
[Prepare to be mind-blown]
Ouma sat on the couch of his house, watching TV.
"Y/N! GET ME SOME SODA FROM THE FRIDGE!" He shouted towards his little step-sister.
"Okay, Ouma, you lazy butt." Y/N mumbled. She went to the fridge and grabbed the pink bottle of soda and handed it over to Ouma. It was just a typical Saturday night...
"Oh, Shuichi Saihara is coming over tomorrow to help me study for my exams." Y/N told her brother nonchalantly. "Don't mess anything up."
"Shuichi who?" Ouma asked lazily, flipping through the channels until he stopped on Tom and Jerry.
"This Valedictorian at my college. He's like every girl's dream guy. Too bad his reputation is slightly dirty due to rumors." Y/N said with a sigh. She ran her hand through her H/C hair and started to head upstairs. "Good night, Ouma-nii!"
"Good night, Y/N-chan." Ouma responded, his eyes still glued to the screen.
The girl went into her bedroom and tucked herself under the covers, wondering the events that could possibly occur tomorrow.
"Nah. It'll probably just be a normal study session. Nothing to worry about!" With that, she reached over to her nightstand and turned off the lamp.

Interesting, huh? Anyways, I changed the cover and name, so please tell me your feedback! I hope you enjoyed the chapter and the little plot twist at the end! I also no longer do lemons/limes, so that's why the one at the end was changed with the requester's approval. Sorry! Thanks for reading!
