{CS}Snow Fairy [Kiibo] (AU)
"Do fairies have tails? More than that, do fairies even exist? Nobody knows for sure. It's an eternal mystery... an eternal adventure."
-Mavis Vermillion
Y/N's POV
"Kiibo." I shook his arm lightly.
His eyes remained closed.
"Kiibo!" I said, raising my voice a bit this time.
"Hm..?" Just as he said that, he rolled over and covered himself with the fleece blanket.
"KIIBO!"
"HUH?!" He shot straight, his head jerking violently left and right as he tried to figure out who called his name. A sigh resonated from him once he saw my familiar face. "Y/N... don't scare me like that."
I laughed lightly patting his hair. "C'mon, Kiibo! It's that time of year!"
"No..." He groaned, trying to lay back down.
"NOPE!" I intervened with his nap time and tugged his arm.
"I don't want to go hunting for Snow Fairies again this year... We didn't find anything last year..."
"Please, Kiibo! It's my dream to find at least one Snow Fairy!" I begged. "Maybe this winter we'll get lucky! Please!"
Kiibo slowly swung his legs over the bed, rubbing his eyes. "Why do you want to find Snow Fairies anyways?"
I stared down at the ground solemnly. "Snow Fairies have a reputation of bringing eternal love. I heard that they can bring two people together who hate each others' guts. I just want my parents to get back together. They both love each other but are too stubborn to admit it..."
Kiibo stared down at me and lifted up my face with his fingertips so that I was looking into his pale blue eyes. "Okay, I'll come. Go and get dressed. I'll gather the supplies into our backpacks."
A smile instantly replaced my solemn expression. "Thank you, Kiibo! You're the best friend I could ever have!" I embraced him, snuggling my head into his chest.
He laughed. "Why, thank you."
I got up and clasped my hands together in delight. "I'll meet you in the dorm lobby in five minutes!" I threw my empty backpack at him, and he caught it with ease.
He nodded, and I left in a rush.
Kiibo's POV
I watched as she retreated from my room.
'Maybe I should start reminding myself to lock my dorm door.'
I quickly grabbed some water and snacks and stuffed them into a backpack. Knowing Y/N, I probably needed to bring a grappling hook for climbing a mountain.
I kept on asking myself: "Why am I doing this?"
And my answer always came.
'I'm doing this for her.'
I grabbed the last item and shoved it all into our backpacks.
"Ready!"
Y/N's POV
Once I got back to my dorm, I quickly got undressed and chose a winter outfit from my closet. It was a knee-length white skirt with ice-blue snowflakes printed near the edge in glitter. Of course, I wore plain black leggings under it.
I wore my favorite t-shirt that said "Fuck the snow! I have Netflix".
I pulled on a vanilla trench coat over the outfit, buttoning it up to the very top. I fixed my hair and placed a snowflake pin that Kiibo had given me last Christmas. I wrapped a baby blue scarf around my neck.
To top it all off, I wore my black snow boots.
Grabbing my phone, I headed out the door in a rush, tumbling down the flight of steps instead of bothering with the usually-broken elevator.
Once I had reached the ground floor, the familiar blue eyes stared at me, and a smile formed on his features.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah!"
I grabbed his hand and off we went on our annual adventure.
"So, Kiibo." I started our conversation off, swinging my arms back and forth. "How's life treating you?"
He chuckled lightly. "The real question is: what is life?"
"Touché."
I glanced around the area coated in thick sheets of white.
"It's really pretty, isn't it?"
Kiibo only nodded as his grasp on my hand tightened. "Yeah... I guess you can say that..."
Tilting my head in confusion, I looked over to him, a frown evident on my face. "What's wrong?"
"N-Nothing..." His face was tinted slightly red. "I'm just a bit cold."
My face lightened up. "Ah, why didn't you say so?" I quickly unraveled the scarf from my neck and stood in front of the boy. "Here, stay still!"
I wrapped the blue scarf around him with a warm smile on my face. He avoided looking straight at me and stared down into the footprints in the snow.
Once I was finished, I gave him a quick peck on his cold cheek.
"C'mon! Let's go!"
Kiibo muttered something under his breath, his face now red.
We hiked around the park, and every time something glittered, I jumped and instantly ran off.
"Y/N! W-Wait!" Kiibo called after me.
"Can't! I think I see a Snow Fairy!" I screamed with delight, the cold air filling my lungs.
My pace picked up as my determination grew.
"SNOW FAIRY! GET YOUR SMALL ASS BACK HERE!"
"Y/N! Watch your language!" I heard Kiibo call from far behind.
'Aww... so innocent...'
In just that short time span, the Snow Fairy had disappeared. The glimmer that I saw was gone.
My eyes darted around furiously, hoping to get another glimpse of the glitter. There was none.
I lowered my head, dropping to my knees.
My hands were buried in the snow as little tears formed in my eyes.
"I'm not going to cry..." I said to myself quietly. "I don't want to be a pussy."
Kiibo soon caught up and placed his hand on my back. "Y/N! Are you okay?"
I nodded, still sad that I lost my one chance of catching a Snow Fairy. All I wanted was for my parents to get back and for us to celebrate Christmas... as a family.
The white-haired male held out a hand in front of me. "Here."
I looked up, my eyes still a bit teary. Without another pause, I grabbed onto it, allowing him to pull me up.
"Thank you." I muttered, starting to head off.
"W-Wait, Y/N! Where are you going?" Kiibo called.
"Up on the mountain!" I said, turning around to face him while pointing at the massive landform behind me.
"Y-You're kidding?" He mumbled. I stared at him, nodding my head confidently.
"You packed the grappling hook and ropes, didn't you?"
He nodded, dumbfounded, and tossed the bag to me.
"Thank you, Kiibo. You're the best." I smiled while getting out the supplies I needed. You don't have to come with me. I'll be at the mountaintop by nighttime, so you can go home and rest for a while."
"Y/N, you're crazy to think that I would leave you alone." He replied.
"Kiibo, I don't need you to shelter me. I'll be fine on my own; I promise." I flashed a reassuring smile in his direction.
"Fine, but promise me this." He walked towards me, and understanding what he was going to do, I walked forwards to him.
Gently, his hands held my head, and our foreheads touched, our eyes closed.
Ever since we were children, Kiibo had always done this to comfort me or to make a promise in between us. I have to admit, it did send butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
"What promise do you want me to keep, Kiibo?" I asked softly.
I could imagine him smiling. "Promise me you'll come back safe..."
I let out a small sigh. "Promise."
We let go of each other, our faces both red.
As Kiibo was starting to head back, I grabbed onto his arm. "H-Hey, Kiibo..?" I stuttered with embarrassment.
"Is there something wrong?" He asked, turning around and facing me with his innocent face.
"Do... Do you have human emotions now? Like... sadness?"
He nodded.
"Happiness?"
"Most of the time when I'm with you... Yes."
My face grew redder. "L-Love?"
I could see him tense. "Um... I-- er..." He stuttered, his eyes trying to look at anything but me. "H-Have a safe trip, Y/N!"
With that, he dashed away, and I stood in the snow not knowing what to feel. Was that his way of saying something..?
I indirectly confessed my feelings though it was very subtle. I could feel my face heat up once again.
"I don't have time for this." I murmured to myself as I started the long trek up the mountain.
I agonizingly grabbed onto the jagged rocks with my bare hands as I started to climb upwards. As time wore on, my hands started to feel like they were frostbitten.
Blood dripped onto the rocks from the cuts I had, but I couldn't feel the pain. Everything to me was numb.
Through it, I continued to try and accomplish my dream of finding a Snow Fairy to bring home and show my parents.
Tears streamed down my frozen cheeks as the sky started to dim. I rested on a small flat surface on the mountain, trying to regain my stamina. My water bottle was now empty, and I didn't have any service to call for help.
I was on my own.
Maybe I should've brought Kiibo along. He could've flown back to get some more water and food, but no, my stubborn ass wanted to chase this fantasy alone.
In my mind, the Snow Fairy became less and less real. It seemed to be just a tale to tell the little children. Why was I so gullible?
There was only a couple more meters before I reached the summit of the mountain. I took a bite of my last sandwich and shoved it back into my backpack.
Once again, determination to climb the mountain overwhelmed me, and I ignored the blood and tears. All I wanted was to reach the top.
About a half hour later, the sky was dark. The moon shone on me along with the stars twinkling in the sky.
My bloody hand touched the last rock before I flopped onto the summit. My breathing was ragged, and I felt like I just traveled through hell and worse.
Yet, I managed to find the strength to get up.
I stripped off my trench coat because I was sweating. I let the coat hang from my wrists behind me as I stared up at the beautiful and clear sky.
Fireworks lit up the night in brilliant shades of red and green.
I smiled to myself, shutting my eyes from exhaustion. Taking one last look around me, I realized that the Snow Fairies were nowhere to be seen. At that moment, I accepted that they weren't real and were just a figment of my imagination.
My tired body's tense muscles eased, and I felt my legs give out from under me.
Kiibo's POV
I looked over to the digital clock by my nightstand.
It was about half an hour past midnight, and Y/N was nowhere to be seen.
I could feel new emotions stir inside of me.
'Panic.'
Without another moment, I shoved the blankets and sheets off of me and grabbed my backpack. I knew I should've insisted on joining her through her trip to the mountain.
I used my jetpack and flew out the window and above all of the pedestrians chattering excitedly on the streets below.
My one goal was to find Y/N and make sure she didn't break her promise. My mind suddenly flashed images of her laying on the cold mountain, dead.
I fought back the pain. I didn't understand what was coming out of my eyes. Y/N had told me many times that the water coming out of her eyes were tears, that she was crying.
I never understood why, but now, I did.
The mountain seemed to get bigger as I neared it. In the middle, right on the highest point of the landform, I saw Y/N standing there, staring up at the stars.
The moonlight shone on her skin, bathing her in an almost-white glow due to the sweat on her skin. It gave it an effect of glitter. Her hair was being blown behind her in the soft breeze of the midnight wind.
Her coat was hanging on by her wrists which was also blowing behind her. The pin that I gave her last Christmas reflected the celestial light from above with its beautiful crystals.
My eyes widened as I felt a strange sensation coursing through me.
'She looks like a Snow Fairy... beautiful and enchanting...'
The smaller mountains in the back were shaped perfectly. The jagged tips formed wings like a fairy's behind her.
I slowly flew towards her, captivated by this enchanting phenomenon.
"Y/N--"
As I neared her, her legs started to collapse under her, and I quickly flew and caught her before she could sink her knees into the sharp snow-covered rocks.
"K-Kiibo..." She muttered, smiling up at me.
"Y/N... are you okay?" I asked.
She held out her hand to touch my cheek. "Kiibo, I'm fi--"
I grabbed onto her arms, feeling the emotion I had before return at full blast.
"Y/N... what is this?" I asked, turning her wrist around to behold the bloody mess.
She chuckled a little. "I kinda hurt myself... y'know?"
I shook my head, getting the first-aid kit from my backpack and bandaging both of her hands.
"Hey..." She started, kneeling down in front of me and staring up with her E/C eyes.
"Yes?" I asked, holding her head and stroking her hair.
"I never got to find a Snow Fairy... I won't be able to enjoy Christmas this year either..." She mumbled sadly, burying her head into my chest.
"You can spend Christmas with me this year..." I said without thinking. "We can go to the city and see the lights parade and head into a restaurant or a cafe after."
"That... That sounds lovely..." She smiled, her face now red with blush and tears. "I wish I got to see a Snow Fairy, though."
I smiled at her. "Actually, I saw the most beautiful Snow Fairy while coming here..." I mumbled softly. "I took a picture with my eyes."
"You... You did?" She asked, her eyes widening with joy. "C-Can I see?"
I nodded and printed the photo from my mouth. She hesitantly took it and viewed it, her face seeming to show shock.
"Th-This is... this is me..." She said under her breath.
"You're the Snow Fairy, Y/N." I said with a soft smile.
"Kiibo..." She murmured, hugging the photo close to her chest with tears in her eyes. "Hey... Kiibo... Can I tell you something?"
I stared down at her, my nonexistent heart seeming to beat against my chest. I shook my head.
"Why not?" She asked, her face seeming to be downtrodden.
Before she could continue any further, I lifted up her face so it was close with mine.
"What promise do you want to make now?" She smiled slightly.
"Promise me you'll be mine."
"Wh--"
Before she could finish her exclamation, I sealed it with a kiss. I've seen couples doing it recently, and one of my friends told me it was a sign of affection... a sign of love.
I felt her hand travel to the back of my neck, touching the nape and making me shiver.
"If you really want it to be passionate, do a French kiss."
I tiled my head. "A French kiss?"
"Fight with your tongues!"
I eased my nerves and started to try and lick her lip to ask for entrance. She granted it and hesitantly opened her mouth. [Let's make Kiibo a too-realistic-to-not-be-human robot with a tongue :)]
I felt our tongues fighting for dominance, and I quickly overpowered her. One hand was rested down on her waist while the other held her face.
Finally, we pulled away, and I stared at her, warmth radiating from both of our faces.
3rd POV
The two of them stared at each other, their love finally expressed. They sat there on the mountain, cuddled up next to each other and staring up at the night sky filled with fireworks.
Behind them, however, a little twinkle of golden glitter appeared. A small yet cute laugh went unnoticed as the Snow Fairy granted what the two would need most in the future.
Eternal love.
