~{5}~ Lord Thorne

~{5}~ Lord Thorne

I jolted awake and sat up trying to remember where I was. And sadly all of that was just as I thought, a simple dream. However now that I can think clearly I realise how ridiculous I've been behaving, out of and in the dream. I let Wolfgang get to me and I barely know him and now I'm having intense dreams and fantasies about him. I just let him grab my waist and attempt to kiss me! Well I have pictured worse, and it was just a dream but that was way too realistic and I enjoyed it a little bit too much. The worst part about this is I actually believed in that apology. I groaned and slipped my fingers through my knotted hair then I felt something in it. I pulled out a dark red rose petal so I turned myself around and glared at the red rose that sat teasingly on my pillow. Did he sneak into my room last night just to put it there?

"He was in my room?" I gasped, the next time I see him he's going to get it. Will he have a better conscious knowing I've forgiven him? I haven't yet because he hasn't apologised, you know in real life. Why am I continuously thinking about him?! I jumped out of bed and shaking away all the thoughts and dreams of him. I glared at my reflection in the mirror then asked it confusingly as if it would have the answer. "What is wrong with men?"

"Rose it's time to get up!" Mother bellowed as she walked right past my room to the kitchen. Oh she can yell and I'm forbidden, hypocrite. I picked a simple cream coloured gown with small puffy sleeves and a cream coloured ribbon around the waist that ties back a big bow, instead of being big it's nice and slim. I just hope mother doesn't notice I'm not wearing a corset... I braided part of my hair and made so it was in a half up and half down style and put a ribbon in it. We're meeting lord Thorne... A lord, a lord wants to meet some farmers. This just doesn't seem right. What does papa think about all this? I stepped out and quietly crept to papa's room closing the door quietly behind me then sat next to father as he snored.

"Papa?" He never sleeps in so I gently squeezed his arm making him stir. He opened his eyes and they were red and looked sore. He looked directly at me and gave me a weak smile. "Are you feeling alright?" He coughed a few times then sat up slowly.

"Of course I am just a little tired that's all."

"Papa you're deathly pale. Are you ill?" I pushed checking his temperature. His forehead is all sweaty and I can see the blue veins all along his arms looking like creepy vines. "You're boiling up!" I exclaimed.

"I'm fine. What are you wearing? Let me see." He ordered so I stood up and did a little twirl. The dress flowing around me as I did then I stared down at him. "You look beautiful." He complimented and so I smiled sweetly. "Where is your mother taking you?"

"I'm too sure actually, all I know is that we're meeting someone."

"Who?" He asked and before I could answer the door swung open to reveal mother. Who was dressed in such a fine lilac coloured gown, frills on the top then buttoned up to the top of her neck, her hair sleeked back in a bun, her hands gloved and holding a closed parasol. "Annabeth, you look very nice." He said and she nodded.

"Thank you Derrick." She said not really caring about the compliment and doesn't even look slightly worried about him, how can they be so cold towards each other but still... Make love?

"Where did all this come from?" He asked and she looked around the room.

"Just found it in a draw somewhere. Now come along Rose."

"Where are we going?" I asked and she scowled losing her patience once again.

"Lord Thorne is to be here any minute now to pick us up and take us to town." But why? Who is this Lord she seems to be so obsessed with? I won't ask because from I've learnt it's not safe to question her.

"Lord Thorne? The man that lives in that massive estate?"

"You know him papa?"

"I know of him." He answered then got out of bed. "I better be prepared for when he arrives."

"That won't be necessary darling. He will be picking us up and leaving there's no need for you to meet him." She said and my father looked at her strangely

"I'll just say hello, since he's taking my family out I must be introduced."

"Fine but don't make a thing about it also don't take too long so no chatting." She ordered stalking out. I smiled at papa then followed her out stumbling on my own dress, I had to hold it up just to make it to the kitchen/dining room. My mother swung the front door open and stepped outside. "Come along Rose." She snapped and I quickly stepped outside beside her. She didn't look at me, she just stared at the dirt path awaiting for his arrival. To defuse the tension and lighten up her dark mood I tried making up conversation. She either answered with one word, a grunt or didn't answer at all, so I tried a new tactic.

"You look beautiful mother." I complimented smiling warmly up at her and just for a split second her eyes loosened from the hateful glare and her face was completely dumbfounded.

"It's natural beauty something you'll never know anything about. We're lucky that I have the smarts to..." She started really hurting my feelings but then her face beamed. This black carriage led by beautiful black stallions appeared not too far off. "There he is!" My mother whispered loudly then straightened up. I've never seen her this excited before, about anything. "Remember let me do the talking, I don't need you ruining everything up." She said still smiling at the carriage that stopped right in front of us. The man that held the reins of the horses at the front of the carriage looked down at me for a few seconds. He looked cold as statue, eyes the colour of dark clouds his skin deadly pale and very thin lips that sat in a straight line. Black coat and top hat decorated with what looks like a crows feather. He looks sort of dead and creepy, now I really won't be surprised if the grim reaper comes out if the carriage offering me his bone hand. Mother is calm so I guess I should be to. The door of the carriage swung open soundlessly without any hand leading it, perhaps Lord Thorne is a ghost. No wait he's seated down and I can just see his expensive looking boots, black leather and go up to his knees. Then he moved out and I analysed every feature of him. Royal blue coat with a tail with gold buttons and long white breeches. As for his face there's no doubt that he must have many ladies seeking to claim his heart. Blond hair that is neatly tucked back behind his ears, heart shaped face almost like a woman but the cheek bone structure makes him look manly, his eyes I find almost as interesting as Wolfgang's, they're amber. Mother and I both curtsied and he bowed back smiling with an angelic grin.

"Rosalie Allure finally we are properly introduced. I am Lucas Thorne." He greeted taking my hand so he could give it am innocent kiss that two seconds too long but I said nothing as he straightened back up. "Annabeth, what a pleasure to see you again." He complimented nodding in her direction.

"The pleasure is all mine." She said sounding so foreignly refined, it scared me.

"Your daughter is very beautiful." He said smirking as I blushed and I looked at mother who stared at me still holding place the smile that is no longer reaching her eyes.

"She is isn't she... Just wait till you get to know her better. My lord I think it's best we be on our way." The blushing soon disappeared when I realised she wanted to leave before papa came outside.

"But mother," I froze when her eyes darkened.

"Forgive her she's a fit of nerves as you can see."

"You shouldn't be I merely am a friend."

"That's yet to be decided." I joked and he chuckled while my mother stiffened.

"Of course. Lets get going shall we my lady?" He said said offering me his hand. I looked at mother for guidance and she just head gestured for me to accept it. I kindly gave him my hand and felt his delicate soft skin warm up and tingle. I felt a little shock in my head and all of a sudden grew randomly excited to be with lord Thorne. He is such a gentleman, a very handsome one indeed. How could I have been questioning him before he's so sweet...

Where did that sudden optimism come from?

I graciously hopped inside the carriage seating myself down on the blue cushioned seat then mother hopped in beside me. And finally Lucas Thorne sat across from me and I felt his eyes skim up and down my dress.

"Lovely dress." He complimented in a foreign low tone.

"Picked it out herself." My mother butted in. He nodded in her direction then opened this little window behind him.

"Go on Marvin." He ordered and the carriage abruptly started moving sort of shaking me about at the start. As we moved along Lucas Thorne never left a dull moment of silence, he would talk and mother would speak for me whenever he had a question to ask... Me. After awhile it began to get irritating she just seemed to start bragging about me, tying to impress his lordship. So I let her go on and stared through the window. She made me sound like the golden child, she's never shown an interest in me before.

"I'm sorry Annabeth but please let young Rose answer for herself." Lucas interrupted getting as sick of her voice as I was. I smiled at him and didn't dare look at mother for fear that her eyes may just burn me alive. "Rose how can you be a farmer and yet still look amazingly gorgeous?" He flirted which I would almost find gross for his age.

"Me? Gorgeous? You're too kind my lord."

"Oh please call me Lucas." I think I'd feel really uncomfortable calling him that.

"Lucas... I think you might be loosing your sight." I added playfully just trying to impress and he chuckled.

"I'm not that old." He playfully scowled and once I looked out the window I realised that we have already reached town and so soon?

"How fast can your horses go?" I asked amazed.

"It wasn't the horses that went fast it was just time slipping away." He said then opened the door for me. I stepped out recognising the stone streets and the s,all little shoe shop I've gone past a few times with papa. I squinted to see through the window to see that Annette was inside with her own mother. An exact replica of her daughter just older and a little fatter. "See something you like?" Lucas asked in my ear and I jumped a little which made him smile amused. "I apologise for scaring you."

"You didn't scare me merely surprised me." I said holding my head high then curiously glanced at his arm he's offering.

"Rose accept his arm." Mother said through clenched teeth. I stared at it then smiled nervously at him before I lightly placed my hand on his arm.

"Choose something you like and I'll buy it." He said and I stared at him shocked.

"I beg your pardon?" U barely know this man and he wants to by me shoes.

"Oh how kind of you my lord." My mother beamed then eyed me. "Isn't he sweet Rose?"

"Yes but..."

"Those ones would look great on you Rose!" Mother interrupted leading us inside the shop. I admit these shoes are amazing, the detail, the colours but I can't let him buy me these. Letting go of his arm I walked to a table which sat in the middle of the room and placed on its own little podium was one glass slipper. It sat on a velvet cushion shining as the sunlight coming through the window shone making it glisten. As I glimpsed closer at it I saw the clear crystal gem that sat sparkling at me, drawing me in.

"It's so beautiful." I awed and felt a presence of someone beside me.

"Real diamond, perfect for a jewel such as yourself." This must be the shoemaker. Very old, crazy grey hair but soft blue eyes and a very funny moustache. He put his spectacles on and smiled brightly at me so I smiled back then admired the shoe again.

"Can you actually wear these?"

"Oh yes, the glass is very strong but never go running around in them. These are for a wonderful evening inside for let's say a ball." He said then walked around the table. "You'd be the talk of the party, every lady would turn red with zealously because of these gorgeous shoes that are dancing with the most handsome and richest man in town. He was awed by your looks and when he saw these shoes on your dainty feet he knew you were of a high class." I pictured the image but shook away the thought.

"There's no point. I'd have no where to wear these." I admitted but still admired it.

"Besides! I saw it first." Oh no I forgot about Annette. She stood across from me holding her head high. "I deserve to have this." I rolled my eyes at her then smiled sweetly.

"Fine you can have them." I said and her smug expression disappeared turning to confusing. She's not worth it, neither is the shoe. "Thank you." I nodded at the old man then turned around to find mother and Lord Thorne. They were discussing something and from their expressions it was important but when mother glanced at me turned around away from Lucas. He glanced at me then smiled charmingly.

"Found anything you like?"

"Everything in here I like but I have no reason to wear any of these."

"Nonsense pick the shoes you want and I'll find a reason for you to wear them."

"Lucas why are you doing this?" I asked. "I mean it's a wonderful offer but..." He walked over to me and sighing.

"I have all this money but no reason to spend it, now your mother and I have been friends for a very long time and I'm just making up for the time we lost. Choose something and I'll buy it for you."

"You're alone?" I expected a lady Thorne.

"Unfortunately yes that's why I've requested for you and your mother to spend the day with me." Aw he's lonely, now I understand but why hasn't she mentioned him before if they know each other so well?

"I feel honoured. But you don't have to buy me anything I'm happy just to spend the day out." Although maybe one pair of shoes won't hurt, actually I'm just hungry. Maybe I'll just ask for food.

"Liar, I saw you admiring that glass shoe."

"Instead of spending money on shoes why not give some to the poor." I suggested and he raised his eyebrows surprised at me for some reason.

"The first girl I've met who declined on earning a pair of shoes."

"What can I say? I'm not like other girls." I responded and he chuckled passing me a violet coloured bag. Where have I seen this before? "What's this?"

"There's a nice bakery just across the street, go get yourself something to eat." I accepted the money mainly because I'm starving. But the bag is really heavy. I thanked him wondering why all of a sudden he's trying to get rid of me but from the stern look mother's giving me again, I'll just keep quiet. I walked across the empty stone road and headed for the double storey bakery. I stopped at the door when I noticed the bakers son inside... The donkey butt face. He's not that bad looking I just don't like his perverted personality. Through the window I can see his face splotched with flour, his face round shaped fitting in his thin lips and big brown eyes, dare I mention the big ears. My stomach growled and I huffed in annoyance before walking inside, a bell ringing announcing my arrival and also caused him to look up and his eyes widened.

"Oh great you again." How did I not notice Annette? And where has her mother gone? I chose to ignore her and walk up to him as he stood behind the counter. Uh what's his name again?

"Rose! Uh... How've you been? You look... Nice this morning." He stuttered and I smiled, surprised at his nervousness.

"Thank you... And I've been fine how have you been?" I responded and blew a strand of his blond hair off his face then wiped his suddenly sweaty brow.

"Do you even know his name?" Annette interjected and I blushed still smiling.

"I'm sorry I don't actually remember your name." I said nervously and he waved it off then eyed me up. It took all my might not to shudder.

"I'm Manfred." He said and we shook hands for a few seconds to long. I gulped and tugged my hand away from his strong grip and felt Annette's glare on me.

"I was here first!" She exclaimed.

"We're making the bread now. So I'll serve Rose." He said and I can tell he's putting on a fake smile.

"But I want something else!" She stated and I had sigh as well as roll my eyes.

"Just serve her, the sooner she gets what she wants the sooner she shuts it and leaves." I said sitting my elbow on the counter then resting my head in my hand. He leaned very close and stared at my chest.

"I won't be long." My breasts aren't my eyes. He walked over to Annette while I waited patiently and listening to her venomous voice.

"You never complimented me." She complained quietly and I chuckled silently. I watched for for his reaction and saw him sigh then stare at her boobs, then at mine...then at hers.

"Yeah well you're not worth it." I accidentally snorted and quickly covered my mouth looking away at the far wall. Don't turn around, don't turn around...  "So what do want?" He asked impatiently.

"I'm still thinking." She replied and I realised what she was doing.

"How about while she's thinking you could serve me I already know what I want." I suggested and he slid over while I pointed at the brown rolls covered in sesame seeds. I placed the bag on the counter and looked inside to see gold. He has gold! No wonder he's so rich.

"That would be five pence for the five rolls." He said and I just picked up one gold coin and placed in his hand. He stared at it shocked then looked at me shocked.

"Keep the change." I shrugged smiling nervously.

"I bet you stole that!" Annette sneered and I just smiled at her. I tossed her a gold coin and she caught it effortlessly then looked at me suspiciously.

"Go get yourself something nice." I said then walked out with my bag of rolls and real gold. Her rags are ugly if I didn't give her money to help her look good who in this world will. Once I stepped out the cold air hit hard and I shivered while trying to take a bite out of my bread roll but I stopped. I saw a woman in real dirty rags holding her crying infant in her arms, while her other daughter a small innocent girl was holding a big basket full of bight yellow daffodils. The small little mucky girl stared at my bread roll and licked her split lips. And her mother kept trying to hush her baby to stay quiet. I've never seen such a sad looking family, and where is the father? My stomach grumbled, persisting me to eat already but I ignored it's cry and listened to the young infant's. Finally I walked over to them making sure no one was watching us especially Lucas, I don't know how he'd take me giving away his money like this but I don't care. I kept two bread rolls for myself and gave the last three to the young girl. "Here you must be starving." Then I opened the bag and gave them a handful of gold coins, slipping them into the mother's pocket. "Remember you never got these from me, you earned them fair and square." I said and the woman smiled getting teary eyed.

"Thank you." She said and the little baby girl that was crying in her arms looked at me. She looks like a chipmunk with those big cheeks and brown eyes.

"Spend it wisely." I said as I stared at the baby who reached out to me. I lifted my hand up to her tiny one and she gripped it softly then made the sweetest laugh. "What's her name?"

"Sophie and this Cynthia." She said and I smiled at the other girl who hid behind her mother smiling bashfully.

"Beautiful names." I complimented.

"What's your name?" Cynthia asked me and I kneeled down to her height so I didn't intimidate her.

"I'm Rosalie but please just call me Rose." I said offering my hand and she hesitantly placed her hand in it. I gave it a little kiss then rubbed a little since it feels like frozen ice. She smiled at me and nervously tucked her long chestnut hair behind her ear. I undid my ribbon and told the girl to turn around. She did as I requested and I braided one part of her hair then tied the white ribbon onto it. "There you go." I said and she turned back around and touched the back of her hair.

"Thank you Rose." She said bashfully and I just beamed down at her then stood up.

"I hope to see you sometime soon." I said to the mall and the mother smiled warmly, her eyes puffy and red. I turned around to walk back inside the shop but then I felt the tugging of my dress.

"This is for you." Cynthia said giving me a daffodil and I gladly accepted.

"I shall cherish it forever." She giggled then ran back to her mum. They waved at me while walking away and I waved back holding the daffodil close to me. Then I saw a shocking sight, I can never catch break can I? This is ridiculous how many times must I see him in a day. Wolfgang sat on a step in front of a boutique, elbows on knees and face in hands but today no cape. Just brown shirt covered in a brown leather vest, long black breeches and his usual big brown boots. Next to him sat a flower, and for a second I thought it was another red rose but no, my heart stopped because it's not a rose it's a tulip! No way, the dream... Could it be possible that we shared it that maybe he really apologised in the dream? Well there's only one way to find out, I walked over to him and probably with his wolf senses he new I was coming because he looked up and straightened himself but still sat. But he doesn't seem like he wants to see me, he didn't smile, just looked bewildered so I didn't bother smiling back. "What are you doing here?" I said not bothering with a nice greeting. No happy hellos for him, yet.

"Wow, sweet and caring to those who've done nothing but give you a daffodil but cold to the one person who has saved your life. Might I add more than once."

"What do you want a medal?" I asked sarcastically and he actually thought about it so I scoffed. "Get over yourself." I can't believe how different he is in real life compared to that intense dream. Which I'm dying to question him about but then he opened his gob.

"I will once you will." He responded and my mouth fell open. No apology just another insult, maybe the tulip isn't for me.

"I beg your pardon?" I said on instinct and he sighed standing up and passing me the tulip. But I just stared at it then narrowed my eyes at him.

"I didn't come here to make matters worse I came because you won't accept my apology."

"You haven't apologised yet. All you've done is gotten Rufus to give me another rose, just say it to me up front and you'll be forgiven. And uh why are you giving me a tulip instead?" I asked awaiting for his response but he seemed casual about it.

"Ran out of roses." That's such a disappointing answer but I let it go. I wonder if he even knows the meaning of these flowers. He then with his hand holding the tulip grabbed mine and  looked at me in the eyes. "Rose I'm.... I'm.. I..." He stuttered then looked away and I rolled my eyes.

"Well?"

"Be patient I've never said it before so it's hard."

"You've never apologised before? Seriously? It's simple just say I'm sorry. See easy... I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted." He remarked and I slapped his arm and his expression grew angry but I'm not threatened. I giggled, and he growled. "You're so annoying."

"Nice, very nice Wolfgang you know I don't understand why you even want to apologise because obviously you have a dislike for me." I tried pulling my hand out of his grip but he refused to let go he just pulled me in so my body crashed into his. I glared up at him while glared down back at me but now we're uncomfortably close. This is worse then dreaming. "Let me go." I ordered right at his face and his breath hit mine. We are so close that I can smell his body odour, it's not as bad as I expected it just smells like the woods.

"Damn it listen I am SORRY!" He said like it was the most painful thing in the world and turned away from me hunching over. He left the tulip in my hand and I felt this warmth spread out through my body. I held the tulip then looked at his back, for some reason I just wanted to touch him. He's grabbed me plenty of times but when have I willingly touched him? I lightly touched his shoulder and he shook me off but that didn't stop me from what I'm about to do. I stood next to him while he stared at the ground in pure anger then I cupped his cheek. He froze and before he could do anything about it I kissed his other cheek longer than necessary then looked at him with a small smile.

"Apology accepted." I whispered and he turned his head to look at me and this expression was so new to me. It was innocent, sweet and not the typical cocky expression that I'm used to seeing. I then walked away heading back to the shop but I felt his gaze on me the whole time. My small smile turned into smirk, I for once surprised him. By kissing him... I probably shouldn't have done that but it felt right. It was something I was proud of doing.

"What was that for?" He called out and I turned around to smile at him.

"I don't know, I would say it was for saving me.... But really..." I trailed off staring at the ground.

"Really what?" He pushed and I dared looking up at him feeling my stomach do the twist.

"It seemed like the right thing to do." I admitted and he looked at me distressed and heavily breathing. And his cheeks are red. "Are you blushing?" I teased and he got upset again.

"See I'm not the only one that has to get over themselves." I just laughed at him, he probably doesn't means it as a joke but I don't care anymore. It's his character, he just insults people and I know now that when he goes to far he will say sorry. Just got to learn to live with it.

"You couldn't leave it at the kiss you always have to have the last word." I stated smelling the tulip. "By the way how'd you know?"

"Know what?"

"That tulips are my favourite flower?" Please have a good answer. He hesitated which might be a good sign but then he shrugged.

"Lucky I guess." That's it? Really? I frowned in disappointment then wondered how he knew I was going to be here. Before I asked he was gone and I stomped my foot on the ground.

"Always. Always has to have the last word." I scowled but smiled down at the tulip. I stood there for a few seconds but when Annette exited the bakery I disappeared in the shoe shop.

"There you are Rose. What took you so long?" Mother questioned.

"Got distracted." Was all I said then accidentally bumped into Lucas who just appeared out of nowhere.

"I bought you something." He whispered in my ear and I felt a shiver go down my spine. I turned around to look at him and in his hand was a box, wrapped in white paper.

"I didn't ask for anything. You shouldn't have gotten me anything." He rolled his eyes and smirked. While I eyed the present. "What's inside?" I couldn't help but let curiosity take over and his smile turned sinister.

"You'll find out when you get home. Where'd you get the flowers from?"

"Some poor girls outside."

"We're not even married and already you're spending my money." He remarked sarcastically and I curled my lips in.

"For a good cause."

"That's what they all say."

"Thank you so much lord Thorne."

"I told you, my name is Lucas."

"She apologises my lord." Mother answered for me but I think he ignored her. Today has been amazing, he wanted to buy me everything I admired but I accepted nothing. He teasingly carried the box around, and when he caught me staring at it he smirked sinisterly. And when we were in a tavern I attempted to peek inside but he slapped my hand away grinning mischievously. I don't like suspense, so it killed me the entire day as we entered nearly every shop. Getting many stares from strangers, and well from friends too. Adam, Malcolm then there were the foes like Jeremy and Elena. They all were surprised to see me but I pretended not to notice them. It would have been awkward...

Anyway he lead us back to his carriage, as usual offering me his hand and this time sat next to so mother was opposite us. He had the box in his lap and I tried stare at him instead of the box. He's like no man I've ever met, he's grown up, sensible but also has humour. I've always thought as the rich to be snobby twits. But he's so nice, maybe a little too nice but who am I to complain. My mother took advantage of his kindness and his money, shoes, jewellery, dresses and even a bonnet. She spent a lot of his money on pointless accessories that she will have no place appropriate to wear them. The brilliance of my mother.

"I'm glad you had a wonderful time, I know I did. We shall do this again sometime."

"Again? Lucas I don't want you wasting your money me."

"Hush Rose." My mother quickly intervened. "Anytime my lord, we are available always to you." Dear gosh I need to pull her head out of his ass.

"Good. Now this is out of the blue but Rose? How old are you?" He stared intently in my eyes so I felt locked in place. It got even more intense when cupped my chin to hold my gaze.

"Sixteen." I breathed and he smiled.

"You've got lovely eyes." He said in admiration so I blushed and swallowed nervously. I didn't say anything but I managed to smile.

"Thank him Rose." Mother scolded but I didn't look in her direction, his amber eyes have me locked in place. I've never seen such eyes.

"Thank you my lord."

"It's Lucas."

"Lucas."

We reached home and he helped us out of the carriage. I followed mother, curtsied when she curtsied, smiled when she smiled but then she gave him a wink and I just decided to ignore her again. He passed me the box but held onto my right hand while mother grabbed the box. He pressed his soft lips onto it but continued holding my gaze, then he pulled me forward and I felt his breath fan my face. I trailed my eyes awkwardly to mother who just stood behind watching.

"I hope to see you soon." He whispered to me and I blushed again. I can't help it he's just... There are no words to describe him.

"I hope so too." He climbed back into his carriage without acknowledging mother which I found strange if they're friends. Soon he rode away and I turned to mother beamed brightly then strutted inside. I followed her inside and when she placed the white box on the dining table I rushed towards and picked it up. It felt heavy so I shook it a little hearing it move around inside. Whatever it is. Mother went about her business so I took myself and the box to my room. I sat down on my bed and opened the lid. I gasped at the glass shoes. He bought me the glass slippers! I lifted one up and I swear I could have drooled. I've never owned something this pointlessly beautiful. Wow I officially own these. Annette will die if she ever found out I had these. I put it back and placed the lid back on it. No I can't accept these, it's too late but... What am I going to with shoes I can never wear?

"Ooo Rosa, pretty girl." I searched the room for Rufus and then looked under the bed where he just casually strutted out and then leaped up on to my bed to sit next to me. "Did wolf go see you?" He asked me and I stared at him surprised.

"Wolfgang? Yes he did."

"Did he give you the flower you like?" I pulled the flowers out from the ribbon around my waist.

"Yes... Wait he knew it was my favourite?" I questioned and his big blue eyes managed to widen further.

"Oops. Say too much, say too much!" He jumped off the bed and I left the box on the floor and grabbed his little furry arm.

"Wait please... Did he say anything about a dream?"

"No he didn't! Just talked about a flowers. Yes just flowers!" He exclaimed then ran around me back onto the bed and opened the window.

"Oh please Rufus tell me!" I shouted but he jumped out. If he left in a hurry that's got to mean something.

"Rose what in heavens are you doing in there?" Mother shouted.

"Nothing!" I yelled back then shut the windows in frustration. I pushed the box under my bed and shrugged myself out if the dress. I changed back into my workwear and placed the tulip and daffodil on my bedside table. I let my hair fall out in waves then stepped out of my room. I haven't even thought about father since I came back. I wonder how he's feeling? I walked to his bedroom door and lightly knocked. "Papa?" Silence. I opened the door to peek inside and the room was empty. I'm going to kill him if I find him working. I rushed out of the house to the barn and saw Della gone as well as the carriage. Then I cringed when I saw Betty's stable empty. Wolves are officially my least favourite animals on the earth, although I'll give Wolfgang the exception. I wonder what did happen to Betty's body. In fact I don't remember how even got in my bed in someone else's shirt. A shirt that smells like...
