Quiet Waters
(A/N: what is up fellow youths- I'm not even gonna try to defend myself here- I was just tired, uninspired, and stressed from school (and politics)and I feel bad about discontinuing a lotta my books but it's all good, I'm back- it's 1am here currently and I'm ready to write- let's jump right into it-)
3rd Person POV
For a few minutes, the ride to Waterfall was silent until Frisk spoke up, staring blankly into the river.
"B-before I fell down.. I was a pretty hard-headed kid- determination and all that- but not a lot of the kids in my village liked me- some thought I was scary, others saw me as stuck-up, and the majority saw me as straight up weird." She chuckled dryly and twirled her wrist before continuing. "You probably wouldn't know this but I was really into the history of the War Between Humans and Monsters- not for its violence but for the mystique of it all and the idea of magic and inter-racial peace... it almost seemed fake."
"Maybe in an alternate timeline monsters and magic are fake..sounds terrible." Chara snarked unintentionally. She quickly covered her mouth with her sweater sleeves. "Shoot, frick, sorry Frisk." She mumbled through the fabric.
Frisk cackled before clearing her throat and trying to sound angry. "Ahaha- uhm well you'd be right. The environment back home was quite toxic to say the least. And it's not like my parents were bad; they were decent, though only gave me the minimum to survive and minimum TLC (time, love, and care) they never abused me or any of that shizzle frizzle. The pressure from other kids bullying me, and other adults never approving of my family because of their status- I just wanted a break from it all, ya know." The pacifist child sighed wistfully. "A break that could last forever. So what better way to end it than right up here in FREAKING MT. EBOTT?!" Frisk screeched, flinging her arms up at the last statement. Chara curled her (big strong manly-) arms around her lover and murmured soft words of comfort to her as Frisk started sobbing softly.
"Shh... it's fine, you know it turns out better..and if it doesn't I'll kill the first person who lays their hands on you." Chara said.
"What are you- a yandere?" Frisk teased between sobs. She turned over to her red-eyed lover and kissed them on the cheek. "I'm fine now, I just really, REALLY needed to get that out of me." Chara tentatively let go of Frisk, touching the kissed cheek with a rising blush in her pale face. "At least you're okay now...my falling down here sounds kinda dumb compared to yours now. Parents probably long dead now." She shrugged off the prospect.
The rest of the boat ride was spent in silence with small flirts (Frisk) and puns (Chara) until the Riverperson announced their arrival to the blue aquatic region.
"Tra la la, beware of new changes this round." The Riverperson said before their cat boat...ran? Skied? It just didn't float away that's for sure.
*The sounds of quiet waters fills you with... DETERMINATION.
