~Part 3~
Evan opened the bathroom door and stepped back out into the open space of the studio apartment. With a stifled yawn, he looked around and realized that Tyler and Craig had disappeared. He glanced over to see Jonathan still passed out in his bed, breathing heavily as he rested. With a sigh, Evan paced over to the window and looked out at the streets below to see if he could catch a glance of the other two, but there was nothing. He anxiously ran his hand through his thick, black hair and shifted his weight as he thought. Deep down, he thought of what Tyler could be doing to Craig and he hoped that his faith in his friend wouldn't waver. Just as he was about to go out and look for them, the door creaked open. Tyler stepped in followed by a small looking Craig, whose expression was blank and his eyes were trained on the floor.
"Uhm, where were you guys?" Evan questioned, giving quizative looks to the two.
Tyler took off his shoes and shouldered past Evan. "We went to clear a path for them to leave, but it didn't go over so well." Tyler said, sending a hardly noticeable glance over his shoulder at Craig who was zoning out as he busied himself with something else. He seemed to be trying to take his mind off of something.
Evan raised an eyebrow at Tyler, "What happened?" He asked in a low whisper.
Tyler rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "Nothing- Nothing happened." He stated simply, kneeling down and making his bed, something that he rarely ever did without Evan telling him to.
With a huff, the asian man turned away from his friend and shuffled to Craig's side, placing a hand on his shoulder. This simple gesture caused Craig to jump as he was pulled from his trance like state. "Hey, did he um... did he do anything to you?" He questioned in a whisper.
Craig's eyes flicked up to look at Tyler's back, watching as he adjusted the lone blanket over his mattress. "Well, no, not really." He murmured.
Evan narrowed his eyes. "What exactly do you mean by 'not really'?"
Craig awkwardly rubbed his hands together, looking down at his feet. "Ah,well, he uhm..."
"He what?"
"He kissed me..." Craig looked up at Evan who was squinting hard at him.
"He didn't force himself on you?" He questioned. Craig shook his head slowly and Evan's eyes grew wide. He let out a little bit of a laugh, pinching the bridge of his nose as he chuckled. "Holy shit." he said in disbelief. Craig knit his brows together in confusion at Evan's reaction. "Dude," Evan breathed, "He totally likes you." He laughed quietly, making sure that Tyler didn't overhear. Never before had he seen Tyler in love with someone, except maybe once in middle school when the prettiest girl in school held his hand in the hallway. Evan felt hysterical. Tyler liked Craig and he was gonna be sure to make fun of him as much as possible. Craig just stood there in silent confusion and embarrassment, his cheeks dusted a light rosy pink.
Tyler, Evan and Craig all simultaneously turned their heads to where Jon was laying as a groan sounded throughout the room. "Jon!" Craig exclaimed and ran over to his friends side, looking over him to make sure that he was okay.
Jon let out a cuckle and sat up, "That's my name, don't wear it out~." He joked and Craig let out a happy sigh, giving Jon a tight hug. "Woah, watch the throat," he said, feeling Craig's shoulder press hard against him.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Craig sat back, "How are you feeling? Are you okay?"
"Just a little sore, " he stated, gingerly rubbing the front of his neck.
"Do you want some water?" Evan questioned. Jon looked over at the man who had nearly killed him, a layer of distrust clouding behind his eyes.
Craig noticed his hesitance and gave him a nod, "it's alright," he reassured.
Jon looked back to Evan and nodded. Evan gave him a small smile and walked between Craig and Tyler to fetch the half empty bottle of water from the nightstand. He reached over and handed it to Jon, who took it without a word. He silently nodded his thanks and hurriedly opened the cheap plastic bottle, bring it to his lips and hungrily gulping it down. Evan didn't have the heart to tell him it was the last of their water.
Jon finished off the tasteless liquid and let out a sigh of content. "Damn, that hit the spot." He said, his voice already less hoarse than before. Both Craig and Evan stood back as Jon slowly got to his feet, his joints cracking as he stretched out his stiff muscles. His blue eyes passed between the three, his glance catching Tyler's hardened glare. "So," he started, breaking eye contact with Tyler, "What made you guys decide to let us stay here?" When no one spoke up, Craig broke the awkward silence.
"Well, Tyler and Evan decided that it would wrong to send us out to our deaths, with you passed out and all..." He scratched the back of his neck.
"Wow, thanks," Jon said almost sarcastically.
"Hey, we didn't have to-" Tyler scoffed, walking up behind Craig and folding his arms over his chest. Jon looked between his friend and the looming figure, narrowing his eyes at Tyler. A static electricity filled the room as Tyler and Jon stared eachother down. Craig felt the tension grow and loudly cleared his throat. Evan stood back, watching everything unfold, putting a hand over his mouth as he tried not to laugh. It was clear that Tyler liked Craig and Jon could definitely tell and definitely didn't like it, not one bit. To Evan, it was like watching a bad rom com and he loved it. He could no longer hold back his laughter. All three of the other men flashed a curious glance in his direction.
"What's so funny?" Jon asked sternly, his thick brows knit together in puzzlement.
"Hah, it's nothing," Evan clutched his gut and pretended to wipe a tear from his eye.
Jon clicked his tongue and leaned over to grab his bag. He tightly gripped Craig's wrist, not breaking eye contact with Tyler throughout the entire ordeal. "Thanks for the hospitality, but I think we should be going." He started to pull Craig along, grabbing his bat as he reached the door.
"Wait- Jon," Craig tried to stop him. "We can't go..."
Jon paused, looking back at his friend, "What do you mean 'We can't go'?"
"Well, Tyler and I- we tried to clear out the 'walkers' earlier so that you and I could leave but-"
"But what? You're not hurt are you?" His stern tone gave way to a hint of concern.
"No, I'm fine, but we couldn't really make any progress..." Craig said. Jon looked between his friend, Tyler and Evan who all seemed to be waiting for him to make up his mind. It was clear to him that Craig wanted to stay. On the other hand, it seemed as though Tyler wanted him gone, but not Craig and as for Evan, well, it was hard for Jon to tell. He let out a sigh and sent an oblong glance at the door. He could walk out right then and there and leave this all behind. The thought quickly left his mind as Craig spoke up. "So?"
"I guess we're gonna stay..."

(A/N:) Aye, Jon seems pretty unsure of this whole situation...
Hopefully (or maybe not so hopefully) he will come around.
Anyways lol
