To Norway
**** Lester's POV ****
The kid who was not truly a kid was going to shadow travel us. I have a rather large sense of fear that my Uncle Hades will kidnap me and make me pay for all the amazing haiku's I've told him over the centuries.
"Earth to Lester?" A voice snapped me out of my panicking. It was that girl, Reyna. A rather sad thing that Venus told me to leave her alone, well more like ordered.
"Please refrain from calling me by my new mundane name, Call me Apollo." I tried for a charming grin.
"And please refrain from smiling." Thalia snorted mimicking my tone.
"Well, Apollo, Nico is ready to go so hurry up," Piper added using her charmspeak. If not for that the dagger she was poking my back with is a rather compulsive urge to move. I saw the kid who is not a kid, Nico waiting patiently for us at what had been Zeus's Fist. Nico's black hair contrasted to his pale skin, his eyes were sunk in while his boyfriend lectured him.
"-Using too much magic can lead to" He was saying when we came within earshot.
"Hi! Apollo!" My son chirped at me.
"using too much magic can lead to 'hi apollo'?" Nico looked baffled.
"Uh hi Nico and *cough* my son," I spoke from behind him. Nico lept up with his sword raised and pointing to my neck.
"Well hurry on up!" Annabeth shouted emerging from the trees while dragging Percy who was trying to argue. She shot him a murderous glare and he fell silent. Jason flew over to the small, yet unhappy, gathering.
"Alright you know what to do," Nico grunted. Eight demigods nodded, but I on the other hand was standing in a sea of confusion.
"Wait what are we supposed to do?" I asked, Achillies grabbed my hand and hauled me into the small circle the demigods had formed. Then the world went black, No I'm not kidding. I saw the red-coated thief, Carmen falling with me. I reached out to help her. This was no doubt an act of revenge for my poetic skills from Hades.
"What the heck-" Carmen breathed as she saw me air swimming toward her, Jason or Percy would be useful right around now.
"Grab onto my hand. We have to stick together." I ordered, surprisingly she obeyed. Perhaps my divinity was coming back. The moment we held hands, there was a flash of light. It blinded the view of darkness and before I was the courtroom in Olympus. I was there in shackles while Artemis was yelling some colorful curse also where she was going to fire her arrows if Zeus did not let me go. Carmen looked like she was going to go insane, Ah, the gods are in their near true form.
"Don't worry," I told her before imagining Zeus instead of his all might form to a bearded man wearing a pinstripe suit. Carmen heaved a sigh of relief and watched the scene unfold.
"Father please," I begged, erm Past me?
"Your descendent nearly caused war!" Zeus's voice boomed like thunder, Ha! See I still have my poetic skills.
"He did it without my permission!" Past me protested.
"I beg you father, I will go and torture his soul! Just please anything but this." Past me continued to grovel at his feet.
"Your descendant, you're the reason, so it's your punishment." My father silenced the council. It was decided. He raised his lightning bolt, the same one that Percy had brought back, and smote me. There was a flash of light and this time, I saw something else. Not my memories but someone else. There was a baby, a human version of Hermes stood in front of her playing with her. A woman was rolling her eyes at the antics that her husband and child were up to. Carmen drew an inaudible gasp.
"That's my mother and father." She stuttered.
"Correction, that's your father, the worst little brother you could have, the cattle stealer Hermes," I grunted, Yes I did hold a grudge against him. Then the world folded up like a piece of paper and we saw black once again.
"Are they alright?" A voice filled with concern and care asked. Ah, the sweet Hazel.
"They won't die, I'm more worried about Carmen than I am about Lester." A voice grunted a reply. Ah, the ever so hating Nico.
"Besides they just shared a few memories! What's the worst that could happen!" The voice continued. If I don't open my eyes not I'm a goner. I pried my eyes open much to my discomfort. I saw around 10 demigods staring at me.
"Is it stare at Apollo Day?" I asked them, sheepishly they averted their eyes.
"Well, we just saw how you got banished," Thalia smirked.
"You're a pro at groveling at people's feet!" Leo added ever so helpfully.
"Maybe that's where Octavian got it from." Percy mused.
"Shut up." I squeaked getting onto my feet. A falcon flew over and landed on my head. I drew a breathe about to question it when it transformed into Frank. Once again I fell on my butt.
"VILE agents, We have to move NOW." He barked. Jason landed and recited the same news. I looked at Nico who was inspecting me.
"Not possible, I can't shadow travel without all of us falling into the void." Nico panted.
"I need Hazel's help." He grunted, his eyelids protesting against being open for any longer. He grabbed Hazel's hand and you could see in his eyes that he was energized.
"Go" Achillies grunted grabbing his sword.
"We aren't leaving you, man." Percy protested.
"I've got the blessing of Mars. Good luck stopping me." He grinned, it was a smile filled with no humor or warmth. When I stepped back I noticed he was glowing red.
"I'll find Tori from the inside." He promised and ran toward the enemy. Percy tried to run after him but Annabeth grabbed his hand.
"Achillies can take care of himself, besides there's no changing his mind." Annabeth pointed out. Sighing Percy grabbed her hand and the world went black once more. Achillies was a mere dot wearing purple as he slashed left and right taking down VILE as though they were merely a few dummies. I reminded myself that Achillies was the centurion of the First Cohort. Any view we had of the brave demigod was covered in shadows by now. The shadows parted to reveal a meadow. Tori was sitting there staring at the stars and moon.
"Odd to think that my grandmother is out there watching me." She spoke, her voice filled with warmth like her mother's. I noted that she wasn't talking to the dozen demigods that were just there staring at her.
"Yeah. That would make her my what? Great-in-law?" A voice teased. Tori turned a nice shade of red. I looked back and saw Achillies wearing his purple SPQR shirt and faded jeans. He sat down beside Tori.
"Penny for your thoughts?" He quizzed. She heaved a long sigh.
"You really do know me too well." She chuckled. Achillies grinned like the bashful idiot he was. He leaned forward to kiss her when the shadows took over once again. I swear I heard Hades laughing when it happened. He would be like: HA! Wanted to see the love scene? NAH!. We landed somewhere in the Scandinavian Peninsula. Well more like everyone fell on me.
"Nice landing," Percy said getting off the pile of demigods. A person passed by us oblivious to the fact that a near dozen demigods had popped out of what looked like a black hole. And were carrying deadly weapons. The person looked at us like A fallen Apollo? A few dozen of the most powerful demigods falling out of a black hole? Just a normal Tuesday. The wonder's of the mist, I shook my head in disbelief which I immediately regret since I have 4 demigods sitting on me.
"On the bright side, We're in Norway." Jason stood up looking at the horizon. Indeed we are...
***** Tori's POV ******
Luke came inside my hotel room with a smile that threatened to break his face into pieces.
"What's wrong?" I titled my head, hoping for the dumb blonde look.
"We captured a demigod." He hummed as he landed on my bed. My heart did a few flips, who? How? What?! My brain raced back and forth trying to figure it out.
"Who?" I managed to squeak out before panic seized my body once more.
"Won't tell us his name. Wore a purple shirt. SPQR on it." Luke summarized. Oh, dear gods please let it not be Achillies, Jason, or Frank! I prayed.
"We'll let you have a look at them since you have seen the Romans before." Luke shrugged. I nodded hoping that I didn't show as much misery as I felt.
"Well come on!" Luke chirped happily, I followed feeling sick and dizzy with panic. He led me through a hallway and to the terrace. There was a cage hanging there.
"He's quite the fighter, took down 45 VILE agents before he went down. Wait no it was 55." Luke narrated, This made me feel even more nauseous. Luke was treating a person like how a guide might in a Zoo. I squinted to look at the figure. My eyes went wide when I saw Achillies passed out. I wanted to run over and open the cage.
"Is he all right?" I turned to Luke, it took a lot of will power for me to not lift him and shove him off the edge of the building.
"You know him?" Luke asked his voice laced with suspicion.
"A very close friend of mine." I nodded. Luke barked an order and Achillies was released. I rushed over to him ignoring Luke.
"Are you ok?" I asked him. He smiled weakly and nodded.
"I want this guy to be taken care of." Luke ordered. "Don't treat him like an average prisoner."
Achillies leaned forward to whisper something.
"Mission Norway is a go and do you have any idea how hard it is for me to not kiss you right now?" He pouted. I laughed, a genuine and hardy laugh.
"We're going to be late for our dinner." Luke's eyes were blazing as he told me.
"Alright." I shrugged getting up, ignoring his offered hand.
I need to get Achillies out of here, And Luke is suspicious.
