chapter 6
A week has passed from then and Sinbad was a little irritated. Well irritated, amused and slightly curious.
Well very curious.
It was as if Jafar was playing a game of cat and mouse with him. He rarely saw the white haired male around the palace and if it did they were slight glimpses of him turning a hall or so.
He grumbles as he sighs yet another paper, his focus all over the place. He sighs and rubs the back of his neck this was getting ridiculous.
A chuckle is what made him jump slightly and look toward the door of his office. There he was, leaning against the door with his arms folded under those big sleeves and staring at him intently. That dangerous look in his eyes.
Jafar tilts his head to the side, exposing a bit of his neck.
"You look like shit."
Aaaannnnddddd the mood was gone.
Well only Sinbad was in a mood.
Sinbad grumbled something inaudible before signing something else.
"And what do I owe this pleasurable visit?"
Jafar raises and eyebrow. "Not happy to see me Sinbad?" It sound like the name rolled off his tongue, whether he did it on purpose or not.
"I'd figure you wouldn't be happy at all."
"And why is that?"
Sinbad looks up again to not see the other by the door but a few lengths in front of his desk. Grey eyes looking down at the paper work. He didn't even hear Jafar walk around the room. Feeling the gold eyes on him Jafar hides the bottom half of his face behind his sleeves, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Sinbad wasn't going to lie to himself, he did like Jafar, maybe more than like, hell he was even attracted to the other. So just what was he planning while looking at Sinbad as if he were prey of some sort?
He chuckles and heads to the door. "I'll see you around."

Jafar was in this situation again. Eyes scanned the mass of people for his next victim as he sits on a window sill and eats an apple. The white bird on his shoulder staring just as intently as he was.
Steel eyes look through the crowd of people once more to see a familiar face. It was the woman he dropped the child off to. She was setting up her usually booth and Jafar could see the little dark haired boy that was with her helping out.
He saw a dark flicker and turns sharply in the direction. A figure in black weaving its way through the crowd, blending in with the night. He keeps a careful eye on the figure and watches as the person talks another similar looking one. So fast there were only two and Jafar could see that they were dressed in black and wore a white cloth in the bottom half of their faces.
He drops down, landing easily, not startling anyone and leaving his companion. The two people had dispersed, one heading with the flow of people and the other going the opposite direction.
He goes for the one going in the opposite direction. He made sure to keep his distance and his hand would twitch for his weapons every so often.
They turn a corner but Jafar stops there before moving to the left as fast as he could.
Something cold pressed against the nape of his neck. There weren't that many people around in this area either.
"To think it would be this easy to sneak up on you." The person's voice was deep and they applied pressure to the knife against his nape but he didn't move.
The other he was tailing came from the shadows, Jafar's hands twitched.
"I wouldn't." He could tell by the voice it was a woman. She moved forward a bit, but not too close.
"It would be a shame to kill someone as special as you. "
"Who are you and what do you want." He said with venom and if not for the bastard behind him this would've be over within a mere moment.
She stares at him and he was able to get a look at her eyes, they didn't look sane at all. Even though she was calm Jafar recognized the look of bloodlust anywhere. She tilts her head to the side and Jafar could tell she had some type of lopsided grin or smirk under the piece of cloth.
"You're the one being held hostage yet you interrogate us."
When she received a hard glare in response she only chuckled.
"I'll put it simply, we're after a select few people and you're one of them, but we don't need you now."
He blinks and the weapon was pulled away, yet he still didn't move.
"If I were you I'd worry about myself and those friends you were with. You all put up a good fight you know." She says and there was a jerk in her head as she talked as if she weren't human. The air also felt like it was getting heavier.
He narrows his eyes.
"Who are you?" He repeats.
She responds:
"Just an old organization."

Jafar ties the message on the left of the bird. Afterwards it flies through the window and into the night sky.
That was it.
He wrote two messages, both for Amasis. For now he just had to wait and report to the idiot king in the morning.
~~
He didn't get much sleep that night. Instead he rotated between sitting on the railing of the balcony thinking, watching over Rune and the cub as they slept, and waiting for a response. He was used to not sleeping so much so in the morning it didn't seem to affect him as much.
The cub is up before Rune is and nudges Jafar’s foot with its nose before lying next to him. They were on the balcony as the sun was rising. He pats her head and scratches behind her ears, he was granted with a loud purr as thanks.
The flapping of wings is heard next. The tiger lifts its head and glares in the direction of the white bird. With a call it lands on Jafar's shoulder and she began to growl.
“It's fine.” He reassures, hoping it is enough for her. The bird glares back at the feline, head moving side to side before flap its wings a few times.
Jafar takes the message on its leg and reads it thoroughly before folding it back up.
It is surprisingly quiet when he enters Sinbad’s office. The only thing he hears as he as he softly closes the door is the sound of the quill against paper.
Sinbad didn't seem to hear him as he walked across the room and stood behind the man.
