"Well..."

Now, Henry. He wasn't as bored out of his mind about his job as Rutherford was. As much as Henry loved him as a brother, there were times in his life he needed to get the hell away from him.

A lot of the time he would say he was going to his girlfriend's but some of that wasn't entirely true.

Don't get him wrong. Henry very much enjoyed his roommate. But sometimes... He didn't know. He always felt as if Rutherford was hiding something, and whatever it was made him eerily creepy. Some days he would creep Henry out so much that he just needed something, any type of excuse to get himself out of there.

It just didn't feel human.

"...About today's work ethic," he continued, shaking himself out of his thoughts. As he stared down into Rutherford's tired, glazed eyes, he seemed to make out something; as if there was something trapped behind glass doors.

Rutherford gave a hefty sigh, with which Henry replied, "Come on man, you have to stay with me here."

A yawn, a nod, a sleepy chuckle. "Alright, alright. Lay it on me."

"Your work was extremely spot on but I just couldn't shake the fact that you might've been slacking."

A slight roll of the eye. "Ok, what if I was? We're not perfect, dude. We make errors in our calculations. We're all human here. Plus, if you couldn't tell the time, it's 1:30 in the morning."

"I know but please just be careful next time. We can't always be coming out with errors and miscalculations. That's just not how science works."

Rutherford nodded, his eyes closed though he tried his best not to fall asleep. He flicked his wrist, subtly telling Henry to go away so he could work. Though for the next two hours there really wasn't much else to do besides fix his errors and play with the rats. He always thought of them as friends.

Just another night.

Soft mumbles could be made out through Rutherford's closed office door. "Just.. another night."
